    Just bought a refurbished unit and I'm pleased so far (I have had it for less than a day). Your review was one of the reason I purchase it (also my old HP Pavilion G6-1a35ca died of old age ~10 years old). I also now have a few more questions to ask my vendor.

      @@mikhaelahmad4330 I wish I could tell you. I am presently having a running dispute with the place I bought it from and my credit card company. As soon as I started setting it up it said there was a problem with my sound drivers. I contacted the place I bought it from and it has been a nightmare, then I contacted my credit card company and just compounded the nightmare. Like I said it was a simple sound driver problem and the company I'm dealing with doesn't want to honour the warranty.

    So far , this may be my favorite convertible for 2017. It checks all the boxes, with very few weaknesses. The only thing I can ding HP on is the brightness of the display, which is not bad, just I prefer a brighter panel. Other than that, you can't go wrong with the HP Elitebook x360. What do you think? Let me know.

    I HAVE THIS its really good however it has one downside if the touchpad fails to work check the screen first as its possible the sensors in the screen/lid can lock up and keep the unit in tablet mode which switches off the touchpad my 1030 got replaced and only found the real problem after the third HP tech attempted fix. Its a great pc even 3 years on its still very quick, benchmark testing is not the same as real world computing. I made a video and will publish it soon HP India support has been fantastic -UK level 2 not so good lol

    Hi! Nice review. The best I have seen so far. Congratulations! About the Elitebook laptop, I really loved it and I think I am gonna buy it. But shouldn’t I wait for an update? I think this laptop is one year old already, isn’t it? I would like to see this same laptop with one more USB-C port instead of 2 USB-A. And when they update I hope they keep the nice keyboard and do not mess it up like Apple did with MacBook Pro...
    Anyway, could you find out when HP is planning to update this machine and what to expect for
    changes? Thanks!

    Great, in-depth review! Subscribed as soon as I watched it. I just scored a refurbished model from Walmart but the battery is dead. lol. Love everything else! Would you advise replacement with an OEM part or can I get something comparable from Amazon? Also, I've read there are two connector types, "A" and "B". I have no idea which one it is unless I open the back, which I don't want to do more than necessary. Thanks for your expert advice!

    Having an old school charging port is just a waste of space when you have a thunderbold 3 port. I know that is for business users but again, it is simply a poor use of space. Another USB C port would have been better. I think that saying those drive speeds are good is not accurate. Similarly priced laptops get 3000mb read speeds and 1500mb write speeds with last gen NVme SSDs. This speeds are actually terrible. Yes, it is a small drive of just 128Gb and that might be the reason for it, but still, it should not be said that those are good speeds at all.
    Aside from that, great review. I always recommend including the 0 to 50% charge time in the review, since it tells the audience if they can survive a particularly long work day with just plugging the laptop for a few minutes. In my opinion, this has just two advantages over the x360, the fingerprint sensor and the precision touchpad. That's it. I consider the x360 a better overall package but well, everyone is able to have their own opinion.
    Another thing Andrew, it is important for you to tell people that they shouldn't spend over a thousand dollars on a dual core machine now that 8th Gen quad core chips are out. I know that is not the only thing that matters when choosing a laptop, but if you remind people that there are already same category laptops that are 40% faster just for having the new chip, they will appreciate it. A laptop is a big investment, and I cannot imagine buying a brand new one just to have a 40% faster version released one month later.
    Thanks as always for the great content. I am looking forward for those new Asus Flips and Zenbooks reviews (specially the Flip S).

    don't buy it is beautiful thing but don't worth the money you'll pay for it, have a bios bug (power-on authentication problem) that brick the machine an HP don't recognize it and they will charge you for the main board because its a wrong use from the user part

    • @XatriXSK
      @XatriXSK 7 лет назад

      Simon I'm afraid that the Flip S has the same, terrible keyboard as the Zenbook 3 - it has almost no tactile feedback. Also the pricing is a little bit high, currently Flip S base model (i5/8G/256G) costs the same as top-end Spectre x360 (i7/16G/512G) in my country.

    As streamline and intuitive as the fully articulating hinge is, PCs that have it like this seem incredibly risky to use to me. Tablet mode has you setting the deck face into a surface of questionable state. Any food or grime will smear the surface and any grit or rough texture will scratch and mar the otherwise beautiful anodized aluminum. Microsoft's separating hinge solution on the Surface Book, while deeply flawed at this point in its cycle, is the safest and most attractive solution I've seen (though not terribly intuitive). Anyone have a different experience? I'd consider getting one of these in the future.
