@@castle_novelist I used it for 3,5 years. At the end of 3rd year, it had to be serviced due to a swollen battery and got a new motherboard & battery. Apart from typical HP bloatware it was really nice. Although the trackpad & speakers are pretty average, performance was really good for a machine that size. Two minor annoyances were the trackpad and the ill-shaped arrow keys. Currently, my girlfriend is using it for general stuff without much complaint.
@@Gobekadam Oh, the swollen battery doesn't sound good. I asked the question because I'm about to buy it. It's i7 8th Gen, 8gb ram, 1tb ssd. It really seems like a steal price here in my country but it's been used for years and I'm not a techy to know stuffs like that
Great review, always appreciate your objectivity. This could be an option depending on what MS does with the SP5. Out of interest, my old monitor at work has accidental "sureview" :P
Please help im just about to buy a laptop and my eyes are on the spectre x360 and the elitebook x360 please help... Whats i usually do Is playing some games and im a student so i need the tablet mode please help me which Is better
Awesome review , and I'm thinking to buy one , to help me during study but I find one problem facing me which is the brightness of the screen it's maximum 260 nits !! , compared to any other ultrabook it's below average (350 nits ) , so Will this affect using the laptop indoor or outdoor under shadow !? Thank you @
Have you compared the other HP business laptop to this one? There seems to be a variation with HP Z Book X2, HP Z Book X G4. What are the differences?Looking for a business tablet/laptop situation that I can take notes with and grow into it through several years. The current one I have is 11 years old. The reason I looked at the Z Book is that it has a bigger RAM capability, plus a few other plusses.Thank you.
Very nice review, this almost drove me to buy an EliteBook x360 over the Spectre x360. Thanks! Just a couple of newbie question: can the EliteBook be powered (and/or charged) connecting a powered USB 3.1 port from a docking station to the USB-C port, thus avoiding the usage of the power brick? Can the integrated Intel HD 620 graphic card drive an external 4K monitor, even if I order a FHD display panel unit? Thanks again for the deep review!
I'm not Daniel. But I would seriously consider the HP Elitebook x360 G2 as the screen completely flips around for fast access to tablet mode for note taking. With the Surface Book, you have to press a keyboard disengage button, then completely take it off and put back on the opposite way. It achieves the same thing but is more fiddly and takes longer. Oh and it has a USB-C port (over the next 3 years, this will become the main port for peripherals). I could be wrong but I don't believe the Surface Book does. I know for a fact the other Surface devices don't.
The Surface can not be serviced without being shipped to a certified facility, the x360 can be serviced at home. Second, you gain TB3, which is awesome. Third, charging over usb-c, which again, is awesome. Yes, I would recommend this, as well as the Dell XP3 13 and Yoga x370 over the Surface
Daniel Rubino Thx for responding. Have you noticed the screen door effect being more noticeable in the latest fhd spectre x360 screen? I have the laptop and its the only real negative thing I can say about it. Its only really noticeable on a webpage or windows explorer screen with a light background, but I have had other 13" ultrabooks (Samsung ATIV 7) that didn't have screen dooring.
Here's what I found on the web for: "How heavy is it??" With 360° of versatility across five modes, unmatched security, and up to 16 hours and 30 minutes of battery life3, the thin and light HP EliteBook x360 1030 is the perfect PC for highly mobile professionals. Wherever business or pleasure takes you, set a new benchmark for work and fun. Ideal for mobile professionals needing best-in-class,business rugged notebooks with enhanced system and graphic performance in a managed-IT environment Windows 10 or other operating systems available
The Elitebook and Probook lineups definitely did change their naming scheme but for the better. I have an "HP Elitebook 2760p 12-2540 with DS" from 2012 and the new names are way better than telling someone what model you have. Plus, being a laptop for Enterprise markets, no body is going to ask what computer you have.
actually the Enterprise laptops are getting better of course the HP Elitebooks, HP Probooks, Dell Latitude, Fujitsu Life, Panasonic Tough, and Lenovo ThinkPads
Enterprise markets such as Governments, Military, SMBs, and Education, actually do not need any Quad Core CPU. Also it would have been better to have the SATA drive as standard.
don't buy it is beautiful thing but don't worth the money you'll pay for it, have a bios bug (power-on authentication problem) that brick the machine an HP don't recognize it and they will charge you for the main board because its a wrong use from the user part
which one would be better for a college student? spectre or elitebook ?
Ordered one with similar specs to yours 3-4 weeks ago. I am happy that it gets a glowing review from you! But now I can wait to get my hands on it
After 4 years...how was it?

Brother go for its latest 9th 0r 10th gen. If you dont have to show off buy some other coz its more expensive
@@sundramsingh297 thanks 😊
In AUS, its cheaper than the normal spectre, so which one should I get?
simpleministry get this one it has a better value

Does the thunderbolt port support 40 gb/s?
The TB3 standard supports 20gbps, you will need an active copper usb-c cable to get 40gbps.
Does it support Nvidia 4gb graphics card?
What about it’s overheating?talk about that

Looks really nice, but as a graphic designer/gamer I'd only invest in gaming laptops or custom made desktop PCs
Moses Jonson I think it's designed more for businessmen and company pencil pushers
hp's naming scheme is getting me confused

can I use nexus 5x USB-C charger to charge this laptop? Thank you for great review.
u forgot the display.
lol love the outtakes on this one. watch the end
Good thing the laptop survived.
Mantull bozquhhh specke...😅😅
I will only ever spell this laptop as the HP 1337B00K X360 G2
You not answer question dude wtf can you answer this, is this laptop good for animation
Teşekkür ederim.
Basically, a Macbook with Windows 10 as operative system. Perfect.
Jeez Louise! HP is really killing it these days! Also dope man ha ha ha ha can't return my spectre for this one oh too bad :-(
are you paid for the reviews?
I GOT ONE AND THE BATTERY ACTUALLY DIED AFTER JUST 8 MONTHS.QUITE DISAPPOINTING.
Can i play Halo 5 with this laptop?
like for Surface studio!
actually the Enterprise laptops are getting better of course the HP Elitebooks, HP Probooks, Dell Latitude, Fujitsu Life, Panasonic Tough, and Lenovo ThinkPads
Easier Design....
Really wish they put a Quad Core PC thats literally all this laptop needs :(
Enterprise markets such as Governments, Military, SMBs, and Education, actually do not need any Quad Core CPU. Also it would have been better to have the SATA drive as standard.
That's a really good point. I still want a Quad Core for gaming. I've been looking for a Quad Core Laptop with a stylus that has a Thunderbolt 3 port.
Try the Lenovo Yoga 720 15".
