Can’t tell you enough how much this video has help me. I’ve always rewatch my videos and felt something was off but I couldn’t quite place it. After a long time, I realize that it sounded like someone was talking to me for 10 minutes straight without taking a deep breath. This video is exactly what I needed, thank you so much
Bravo! I've watched countless hours of videos online and this is by far the best visual explanation I've seen out there regarding how to edit with pace.
The only reason I see your tutorias than others is the honesty and the dedication, to your skills, to your profession and to us, the viewers/students ❤️
Thanks for taking the time to create these videos. Giving insight to make things look more professional is not easy. However your tutorials show an understanding of how a professional thinks. Not an easy thing to do, but you do it. Can't thank you enough.
Peaks and Valley's...the edit is a symphony and you are the conductor. All those elements don't just smash together perfectly...it's amazing how a dialog scene can be totally elevated based on frames in some instances. Nice video mate, from a fellow editor to another.
Thank you! It’s a good reminder because I take time coming up with what I want to say and feel ashamed for it so I try to leave no space for breathing when I edit my audio. I’m always scared that I might be wasting people’s time
if you are purely working with sound design and no dialogue (especially if you do your audio in a DAW (protools, neundo) after the video edit) and still want to pace the video, add a metronome track and make your cuts intervals of 4,8,16 beats on the metronome. this gives you timing that will fit musically or with sound in general.
Jesus I'm not religious, but I feel like praising your channel from the pulpit! Thanks for the great content. Can't tell you how helpful you've been to me... a 31 year old attempting to learn editing in premiere and photoshop skills from scratch! Such a nice change to watch a tutorial that's educational, engaging, and ENTERTAINING! 🤔👌😍
Tough subject to explain, but having examples really did help! I think you did a good job in showing us the pace and how "feeling" the edit can improve it overall. Pacing is so subjective, but I think you did a great job in showing your style to help others hone theirs. Good stuff. Happy Thanksgiving!
Freakin awsome video tutorial, one of the very best I've seen in a long time. Love your style by the way. Great lessons as always. Keep up the great work, so inspiring!!!!
Excellent video! I understand it all now. You make it look super easy. Off topic, how do should I focus with my camera? Manual or Auto? Things just never turns out like I want.
Sorry for flooding the comments, but that tied it all together at the end seeing the 3 different versions back to back with the Broll added in. Side note: It was epic when the 80s music came on to you putting your headphones on in slow mo 😂
i just recently found your channel sir and im really glad that i did, because i am learning a lot from you aside from learning i am having a lot of fun watching you teaching about filmaking. continue the good work sir.
Love your videos, great lesson! Very educational and you are a funny guy. Great teaching method! Love the Trump part! You made three different flavors of the same interview and each one felt different because of the music.
Little bit late to this one.. ;) But thanks for this, i am totaly new to video editing and I didn't get how to do this kind of edits, I will try this on my next video. A big thank you!
Great video and this is something I always struggle with. I also seem to get feedback from clients that the music is too loud or they can't hear the speaker. I also struggle when to duck (quack) the audio. Do I ramp it up during the break in interview audio or do I let it sit. Maybe a follow up video on leveling audio might be nice (quack). 😂
Dude, all your videos are gold
and we are pirates ! :D

Am I wrong or the electric guitar in the background is playing the same melody of the piano in the example ? :) Great tutorial again !

That really connected for me once I saw the cuts with the B-Roll added.
