Fun fact: when Ganondorf bursts forth from the rubble at the end of Ocarina of time, he was originally going to transform into a literal giant that you were going to have to climb the body of to reach his weak point instead of a pig demon. The reason they didn't go with that idea was because of Hardware limitations, but they eventually used it in Super Mario galaxy.
Gotta say, props to you, Zeltik. It's gotta be tough being a Zelda channel right now. With BOTW2 delayed, and no other new games or ports on the horizon, mining the series or any more content has gotta be tough.
@@justinbremer2281 You mean Forgotten Land Zelda has more 3D games than Kirby! Kirby would devour Demise and end the Ganon-Link-Zelda cycle then and there
I’ll die on the hill that Zant is one of the best bosses throughout the entire series. You finally confront what you believe is the big bad of the game in a tense 1v1. And you warp through different points of the game which forces you to utilize most of the weapons you’ve acquired throughout the game. Then ones he’s had enough, a 1 on 1 sword fight showdown. It really feels like a great concluding fight only to find out he’s not even the big bad. Also I love how he goes from this intimidating godlike being of twilight, to being like a disturbingly quirky maniac during the fight
Agreed. Zant's fight was great. I've always seen him going crazy during his confrontation as his facade finally falling apart. At the beginning of the game, he had practically won. Hyrule surrendered, Midna was gone and his "god" was on his side. That is, until Link comes along and undoes EVERYTHING he'd accomplished. I see it as him finally breaking his intimidating facade to show you who he really is, a greedy but powerful psychopath. I think that he's based off of the "Magnificent Bastard" trope where the villain is rather likeable with his schemes and everything; basically a villain you love to hate. This trope has a few ways of panning out, for one, the "magnificent bastard" is the villain's true self, it's not a persona that's just who they are. Another way this can turn out is that the persona DOES break, implying that the villain was just acting that way for a reason, in Zant's case I believe he wanted to be feared.
Zant is one of the most underrated bosses, through much of the game he is very intimidating and a serious threat to both Link and Midna. At the end, even though he turns out to be Ganondorf's puppet, he is still a tough but fun boss to to fight.
EVERYTHING about the Ganondorf fight from OOT is dripping with atmosphere and presentation. My favorite detail has to do with hitting Ganondorf with the light arrow - Instead of other creatures which just vanish from the light, the arrow's energy EXPLODES out from Ganondorf, orbits around him for a moment, and then rushes back into his body to hit him a SECOND time. Like the Force of Good itself will not suffer Ganondorf's evil reign any longer. He yells out this awesome two-part gut-punch sound as the light hits him and then just crumples to the ground. But the BEST part? On the original hardware, the particle effects from hitting Ganondorf with the light arrow are so intense that it actually lags your game for about one second - which ends up looking like completely intended slow-mo at the moment of impact! Even the LAG makes the battle more cinematic, as if the universe itself ordained the fight to be epic!
I've played the original on N64, the port on Gamecube, and the 3DS version and every one has that lag. I always know when I jump over to the central platform to slash him with my sword those jumps will always be in slow motion.
personally like darknuts better. the iron knuckles are great, but darknuts test your swordsmanship like nothing else. they are both awesome to fight, but i think darknuts get the edge with their unique fighting style, use of sword and shield and sword, and challenge. i would love to see either of them make a return though.
As much as I like all the bosses from TP, I always look forward to the final fight with Ganondorf. A four phase final boss, each one with its own style. First, the classic Dead Man's Volley with puppet Zelda, then a beast on beast battle with demon beast Ganon, then an awesome horseback fight partnering with Zelda, and finally the one on one duel with Ganondorf himself with an awesome final blow and death scene for the iconic villain. Each phase with an epic and memorable BGM to go with them, and an increase in stakes as the phases progress. Just thinking about it is making me want to dig up my copy of TP and challenge the King of Evil again.
i agree 100%, the final ganon fight in TP is nothing but hype. you absolutely should play it again if you find your copy, ive played it countless times before but just recently played through it again, and it still emotionally wrecked me as much as the first time haha. worth it every time though
I particularly love the Beast form and how it allows you to either stand your ground in human form shooting an arrow at the perfect time, or go beast versus beast and sumo wrestle that mfer
Man I just wrote a comment about why he's the better boss and then I scroll down the comments and see yours I even wrote about how after all the phases you finally get a 1v1. But seriously the boss fight was top tear for me
I loved the Helmaroc King from TWW. It starts off as this giant, almost untouchable monster that takes your sister Aryll away to the Forsaken Fortress. When you arrive at the beginning of the game, it finds you, hauls you away right in front of your sister's eyes, and proceeds to fling you far away into the ocean. When you return for the second time, you are able to finally rescue your sister, thanks only to the pirates distracting it just long enough. As the music grows from heartwarming to serious, you see the massive bird flying across the sky just at the pirates retreat with your sister and other captives. This time, Link is prepared to fight this monster bird, and after a long battle, the Helmaroc King is finally destroyed, exploding into a mass of darkness and feathers as the searchlights all focus on its final moments.
Been playing TP recently for the first time, and I have got to agree. A small detail, but i really love how the music changes from tense to triumphant when you have the upper hand in a fight
@@lukeerikblue958 and the fact that often the mini-bosses have a part to play in the ACTUAL boss fight, like how the bigger monkey in the first temple comes back to help you fight the boss. TP isn’t my favorite game in the series, but its dungeons and bosses are absolutely the best ones in the series
My favorite boss fight overall is Demise. I remember dyeing so many times but once you get the hang of it the fight isn’t too difficult. The scene is just so maxing and the battle is epic. Especially the second phase with lightning. The duel is very important to the whole series too some can say it’s the birth of Ganon. I also like how it seems very similar to the the final duel in Twilight Princess. My second is so the whole duel of Ganon(dorf) in Ocarina. From fighting Ganondorf to fleeing the crumbling castle to fight the one and only Ganon.
The Twilight Prince fight is better, IMO. Honestly, Demise is a bit of a disappointment, given how formidable Ghirahim is as a fighter. However, it is atmospheric and very cool.
I would argue the best boss in Wind Waker is Helmaroc King. This thing is the reason Aryll was kidnapped, and by extension, the reason why you’re on this adventure in the first place. Finally being able to bash its skull in is a reward in and of itself, but the buildup is absolutely fantastic. If Gohdan was the test to prove he’s the hero, Helmaroc King is the practical application of it.
The buildup to that fight is phenomenal too. Tetra basically going “I got yo sister. Go get your vengence” and the entire room flooding as you’re getting nearly impales by that thing’s beak, then how your “hAHA!! GOTCHA!!” is entirely Uno Reversed by realizing your master sword is basically a butterknife so Tetra, Komali, Quill, and Valoo have to save your cocky ass. Cimematically the fight’s just. So good. And having it being pretty easy feels appropriate considering Link’s growth and choosing to face Ganondorf prematurely afterwards
I like HK as well. I don't know that it's my favorite, but it's up there. TotG is easily the worst boss in the game. I feel like anyone who's played that game would agree. Best music is Wind Temple. I've always found Forbidden Woods to be fun too. Also can't forget Puppet Gannon.
I’d argue the best boss in wind water is the final fight against Ganon. The atmosphere of the ocean crashing down around you is very effective in raising the stakes of the fight. Ganon is intimidating both physically (he’s huge and nimble) and psychologically (He’s gone batshit insane and wants you dead). Most importantly though, this fight felt personal. Ganon was the most ‘human’ he ever has been in WW. There’s not very detailed, specific depth for his character, but it’s definitely there. You could say the big bird (forgot the name lmao) fight was personal too, because it kidnapped links sister, the driving force for him setting off on this adventure in the first place, and now he gets revenge. However, the bird is just following the orders of his master. Yeah Link fought The hands and face boss and the other ones like molgera to prove himself, but this is what that’s for. Proof that he is the one who will kill Ganon, to both himself, and Ganon. “No doubt in my mind… You are the hero of time reborn”. I didn’t want to write a whole paragraph for this lmao. But I love this series so much, it’s my childhood and shit.
@@Bruke53 I don't mind TotG because it's presented as a test for the hero. The worst boss in the game for me is either Puppet Ganon or the one from the Forbidden Woods that's basically the same as the boss from Jabbu's Belly.
I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the Bellumbeck fight from Phantom Hourglass. The parasitic nature of Bellum brought to new heights with the horrifying possession of your companion hits hard when you've grown attached to the character. Also the music is great, and fighting on the wrecks of the Phantom Ship is a really climatic setting for the end of the game.
I've always hated vatti, but in a good way. He was very difficult and took a while to beat him, but eventually I did it. 12 bottles of Lon Lon milk later but I did it.
Koloktos is everything that a Zelda boss should be: a little challenging, creative usage of the dungeon item, and a fun fight. It really stands out how you literally overpower him when you grab the giant sword. Top 3 favorite Zelda boss, easy
@@anonymousfellow8879 I had literally 0 problems with the controls, don't know why many people complain about it. I even played the original game on an emulator and an xbox one controller and had no problems lmao
For me for Wind Waker, I love the final Ganon fight just because of everything that leads up to it and how it ends. You just defeated (the admittedly disappointing and silly) Puppet Ganon and had to climb up a massive rope, scaling a tower to reach Ganondorf. Once you arrive, The Hero of Winds is exhausted as he watches Ganondorf monologue to himself about why he's doing all of this before lunging at him and beating him senseless, taking his Triforce of Courage and completing the full Triforce. He only loses because Daphnes manages to steal his wish which is to fully erase Hyrule in the flood so the last battle takes place as the ocean is literally coming down around you. Luckily, you're not alone as Tetra has woken up and uses your bow and light arrows and you fight alongside her. This already makes it an epic final battle, Ganondorf has lost every chance he's had now and he already took what he needed so now he's out for blood but you're not fighting alone. But what makes this better is it really shows off what makes this take on Ganondorf cool, he learns. Throughout Wind Waker, Ganondorf was shown to be intelligent, actually taking steps to stop the hero instead of just sitting on his ass. Even when The Hero of Winds gets the Master Sword, its not a victory as Ganondorf has already depowered it so its just a cool looking but dull edged weapon and the only reason Ganondorf didn't even prevent him from getting it is because it sealed his powers so The Hero of Winds played right into his hands and since he didn't have the Triforce, there was no reason to spare him this time so he would be dead without Valoo and the Rito. Even when The Hero of Winds brings the Master Sword to its former glory, Ganondorf has already stolen Zelda and essentially sets up a string of physically taxing challenges so by the time The Hero of Winds even gets to him, he's too tired to properly fight. Ganon ONLY loses because he took too long with touching the Triforce, his only mistake. So this is a very SMART take on Ganon, so when you are finally fighting him, of course he learns. He gets shot three times by the light arrows while being distracted so what does he do? Knocks Zelda out to take her out of the fight. Even when she wakes up, he still learns from earlier and jumps out of the way when the light arrow is fired. The only reason he's defeated is because Tetra was clever and used The Hero of Wind's mirror shield intelligently and if Link didn't kill him when he did, he likely would have adapted to this as well. So this fight just works well with how Ganondorf was portrayed and how does it end? The Hero of Winds, a very cartoony and silly Link, jumps into the air and plunges the Master Sword into Ganondorf's skull. Unlike Twilight Princess, Ganondorf doesn't even get a moment to stand in defiance at his death, he just gets a moment of comfort feeling the wind and then dies, turning to stone as his body is washed away in a flood forever. Such a cool boss fight, a cool sword fight, working together with Tetra, Ganondorf adapting to your tactics and one of the most brutal kills in a game that was usually kid friendly, its great. Honestly if it wasn't for the Puppet Ganon lead up, it'd be perfect but I hate how stupid Puppet Ganon looks which is disappointing because its cool how after you defeat the first phase, it acts all triumphant until the music grows sinister as it transforms again. A cool subversion of expecations but I can't get over the googly eyes and the stupid way its mouth opens and closes.
I love WW Ganondorf (mg favorite of all the Ganondorfs(even thought they’re all the same but wtv)) And i love his fight and everything leading up to it.
I’ve always felt Ganondorfs scare-factor was tied directly into his intellect; he’s always shown to be incredibly powerful, but it makes you feel virtually powerless knowing your opponent could dominate you easily both physically & mentally if they get even a slight edge on you in either way.
For all the cartoony goodness of WW and how much of a plucky dork Toon Link is, I wouldn't call the game kid friendly. Sure, it looks kid friendly, but the themes, the aesthetics of many dungeons, and just what happens from the very beggining (the desperation of having a loved one being kidnapped and the fear of permantenly losing them, something very real in an age like the one that the Great Sea in WW is living, the lose of a parent, the extinction of several species, etc) paints a very dark game. If I had to choose a Hyrule to live in, the Great Sea would be the first one I would discard. The second probably BotW, or maybe the original LoZ one. And I think that's the third greatest strenght of the game, the contrast of how it looks in the surface to how it really is (and looks) once you get a bit deeper. The second would be how refined the OoT formula was at this point, and the greatest is the sense of adventure and exploration, which among the Zelda games I've played, it is only surpased by BotW. At least in my opinion.
The Hero of Winds is by far my favorite Link. No Holy Quest or anything like that. Nope just a kid that dumb bird shouldn’t have fucked around and found out with. That and ascending a Divine Tower and forcing the Goddesses to acknowledge him. Simply amazing
Argorok from Twilight Princess is one of my fav bosses ever, everything from fighting the boss, the music, the atmosphere, the build-up to the boss, it's just so amazing to me
Windwaker's Ganondorf fight is probably my favourite boss fight in any game, ever. It's so climactic, being prefaced and followed by some AMAZING dialogue and music. I love it so much.
I freaking loved Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. How people view them so poorly is beyond me. A lot of the fights were fantastic, and customizing the ship and train was too awesome!
Phantom hourglass has the toomb of the ocean king and you need to do it every single time you clear a dungeon. It also hardly has any puzzels because Often the room just straight up tells you what to do.
For Phantom Hourglass, my favourite boss is Crayk, since it uses the upper screen of the DS as it's view. This is how a second person view looks like. For Spirit Tracks, it's the demon train since it puts Link's engineering skills to the test instead of his sword skills.
The Demon Train is definitely a fantastic boss fight. For me though, my favourite would have to be Malladus, simply because of how much it utilizes teamwork between Link and Zelda. It really is Link and Zelda bringing down the villain _together._ The only real drawback to it for me was that I was never able to play any of the plot-mandatory duets; having to give my DS to someone who could actually complete them for those sections, and the final boss fight has one.
Majora’s Mask is my favorite in the series and I love the fact that the final boss is so menacing and difficult, yet can become piss easy if you collected all the masks. Not to mention the art design of both Majora and the Fierce Deity is fantastic. Easily my favorite boss of the series
Wind Waker had several awesome bosses. The Helmaroc, Molgera the antlion-like boss from the wind temple, the final Ganon fight, etc. I really liked the Big Octo fights in your boat too. Getting seafaring battles was such a cool change of pace, and I wish it had been used more.
one of my personal favorites is the final boss in phantom hourglass. seeing your cowardly companion who fakes heroism turned into a phantom, who you've had to avoid the majority of the game but now have to fight, is simply too cool. Linebecks saving of Link against Bellum and his sacrifice in that is way more heroic than you'd expect of him, and it makes him seem like such a great dude. having to use time stopping powers to fight an otherwise invincible beast who's controlling a phantom is also just cool. the whole situation is just so grand and epic. Then at the end having Linebeck asking for something as simple and humble as his sunken ship back is just a cherry on top, just the final boss makes phantom hourglass one of my favorite zelda games, and probably one of my favorite all time games aswell.
Oot twinrova will always have a place in my heart, because I remember 7 year old me with my 3DS up at seven in the morning, looking back and forth between the guide I found for the boss and trying attempt after attempt after attempt.
Wow. I was 13 playing it on the N64 and since I had just moved I no longer had access to my friend with the Nintendo Power subscription. But I'm not old. I'm sagely.
I haven’t played all Zelda games but I can tell you what my favorites are of those I have played! Ocarina of Time: Ganon Twilight Princess: Zant Skyward Sword: Koloktos Breath of the Wild: Maz Koshia Links Awakening: Evil Eagle
@@flowerfabuki4783 zant is pretty disappointing. It's just old bosses redone but with Zant. I guess the concept is cool. And the end after he freaks out at the end of the fight. But it could of been much better
Nice! Here’s my list of my personal favorite fights Zelda 2: Dark Link Link to the Past: Ganon Oracle of Seasons/Ages: Twinrova(I liked it because of how difficult it was) Ocarina of Time: Ganon (It’s just a dang amazing Final Battle for a game and still holds up today) Majora’s Mask: Twinmold (I liked the Mechanics of both fighting it normally and going in on the Giants mask) Minish Cap: I have no clue what it’s called but it’s that manta ray that’s in the sky Four Swords: Vaati, That game is just a fun play through in general for a relatively quick Zelda Game Wind Waker: I actually liked Molgera the best simply because of the Music but Ganondorf also is a amazing fight cinematically. Twilight Princess: Ganondorf yet again, This version of Ganondorf is my favorite version IMO Phantom Hourglass: Bellum (First Enounter), I love the Temple of the Ocean King and finding out that the very thing that defeated the Ocean King went and took over his home as well I loved. Spirit Tracks: Malladus, the Music is amazing and You get to tag-team with Zelda against him. Skyward Sword: The Imprisoned…I just love how ridiculous it looks as it’s climbing. A link between Worlds: Ganon…a ton of Ganon fights are just cool. And Breath of the Wild, Thunderblight was my favorite aesthetically.
Stallord has always been my favorite. I've been playing Twilight Princess HD in Master mode (since I beat it normally a few years ago). And I got so excited when going into Arbiter's Grounds.
A few bosses I'd like to highlight Wind Waker: Helmaroc King, atop the Forsaken Fortress. It showed how much Link's grown throughout the journey Twilight Princess: Argorok, the Twilit Dragon. Made use of my favourite item: the double clawshot
I agree that Ganon is the absolute best boss fight in OoT (and most of Zelda, let's be honest). But I also have a special place in my heart for Volvagia. There's a cool background behind him as this horror story that Gorons tell each other, the legend of the Goron hero wielding the Megaton Hammer to defeat him and making the hammer one of best examples of working the dungeon item into the story, the build-up as you rescue Gorons and try to save Darunia, his intro is cinematic and intimidating, and the fight itself is really fun and makes you feel like a real hero. You get all that, Morpha? TAKE NOTES.
Imo the best boss of TP is the final fight with Ganondorf. My reasoning for that is because the fight had so much variety and felt so epic. From fighting a mind controlled Zelda, to going toe-to-toe with Ganon, then fighting Ganondorf on Horseback with Zelda assistanting you and lastly a final 1v1 grudge match sword fight. The entire time the fight was really good. It really felt like you were fighting the King of Evil, desparate for revenge and fueled with Rage. Not to mention the final stab was so well executed and felt impactful
Zeltik did it again. He can make a video on basically any Zelda topic and still make an incredible video. His storytelling and detailing are incredible.
Gotta disagree with your pick for wind waker. The final battle with Ganondorf at the top of the tower to me is so profound. With each swing of his sword you feel the might of his power, and the small window of time given to parry makes it feel like you’re overcoming all the odds to finally beat this big bad.
To me it’s just…heartwrenching. His sanity’s finally snapped with his last shred of hope utterly obliterated just so the Hyrulean King can have one final comeuppance, essentially. (And the showdown only happens in Hyrule at all because the King stranded Tetra there without a boat-Ganondorf can enter at will since he has a completed Piece and the Tower literally marks where Tetra’s hiding for MILES. Link cannot until he reassembles Courage, and by then it’s too late. Good going, your moronic majesty!) Also…the absolute irony of the Great Deku Tree and Ganondorf essentially having the same Wish-they both wanted to restore Hyrule. Ganondorf wanted to drain away the sea and have access to the Perfectly Fine land below the Seal. GDT wanted to create a bunch of mangrove forests to sloooowly collect sediment and reform a continent overtop the Sea which…was never going to work. Despite sending out seeds every year the only ones that didn’t ultimately wither to dust were the ones Link brought Forest Water to to revive them. (Sure Ganondorf gets blamed here but that’s honestly just GDT’s working theory. The koroks never stuck by the trees before. They probably planted far more seeds the prior years, especially since Makar has so many seeds at his disposal in the Wind Temple.) So, there’s the despair of “I’m taking you down with me” verses “Victory, but Not Yours” and Link and Tetra quite literally caught in the middle, much like how the series of events that even started their misadventure. We never learn why the King even had the Lion Boat bobbing around-lucky for Link that it was-but in all likelihood it was to go after the Triforce himself (first to get his old kingdom back and find his descendent to gaslight For The Old Ways, then a slight change of heart…sorta…but only to keep Ganondorf from getting his way.) And the King claims he’s “moving on” when he chooses to drown with Hyrule but…to be honest? He destroyed a perfectly viable land when the Surface had been pushed beyond its carrying capacity over a generation ago (tiny human populations, long overfished seas that never had much fish to begin with, not nearly enough land for agriculture) and there was absolutely no guarantee Tetra and Link would even find a new Land large enough that would save the human population on the Surface.
Make a sequel to that video where you made concept art for old enemies returning in breath of the wild 2. It's probably my favorite video you've ever uploaded.
I have a good place in my heart for Majoras fight. It took me like 12 years to get to that point, and my mother was trying to get there years before I was even born. Defeating Majora with my mom was a very wholesome and happy memory
Oh my gosh yes I love Stalblind, I loved watching him look for Link and act like “WHERE DID HE GO!?!?” I just stayed there watching him sometimes, I loved it
helmaroc king from wind waker is by far one of my favorite in the series. Though it's not a hard fight, having that bird be your personal rival throughout the game and having such a cinematic fight with the spotlights following the both of you really felt like such a dramatic fight. Plus the build up before it, tetra mentioning you have unfinished business, and the room filling with water. The whole thing is a personal favorite.
Honestly my favorite boss from Wind Waker by far was Molgera. It's a giant monster which already feels fun to fight against, and you get these really cool shots whenever it flies around the arena, but by far the best part of the fight is the music, it's such a catchy, flighty tune, and it always pops into my head whenever I think of not just Wind Waker music, but Zelda music as a whole
Koloktos was a great boss, and the three of us tried to take one scimitar with us 😂 I also really like Ghirahim in all three stages, it felt so good to throw him off his own platform
The thing I liked about the Gohdan fight in WW was that if you ran out of bombs or arrows, it would give you some. It's a nice touch, because it's meant to be a fair trial of your skills.
The stallords castle altogether was so amazing it was like getting to ride this really awesome skateboard through the entire castle it was so fast pace it was so exciting that has to be one of my favorite Zelda bosses to this day
Botw was my first Zelda Game, and to this day my favorite game of all time, and when I got the dlc I LOVED how cool Maz Koshia was- he was fun and challenging with a comedic weakness, bananas. In addition to all this, I think his theme is absolutely amazing and when I heard it playing in the video I knew...
I’m personally tied between Zant and Ganondorf as the best boss in Twilight Princess. Those two just left such a huge impression on me, and that Ganondorf fight is the reason why I have such high standards for a final boss in Zelda games.
I really liked Vaati's iteration in the Minish Cap. That was one of the hardest bosses in Zelda as well as Demise and the combination of Ganon and Aganim in A Link Between Worlds.
I mean, Stallord fight is amazing, epic and iconic, but in TP I really love also Argorok and Ganondorf himself. Argorok fight is incredibly epic and the mechanic is very interesting. Ganondorf fight is just legendary, especially the 1v1 sword fight. Also the ending is probably the single most epic moment in the series.
I always thought that the OoT final boss music sounded hopeful and epic, rather than evil and scary and threatening. I always got “everything I’ve done so far has prepared me for this moment” and “I did not come this far to die now” vibes from it, and it’s just so utterly wonderful.
My favorite boss in the series: Demise from Skyward Sword. The fate of all Link cares about, the future of life as we know it, all rests, on defeating this monster of pure evil, thr one kn your dreams. Finally jumping into the air and successfully driving the Sword through his chest as he roars in pain is still the coolestfinal blow in a video game for me! 🗡
Maybe would be more fun to play if I was actually able to finish him. I don't know if my copy of the game was broken or what, but no matter how hard I mashed the button when he was lying, he would always get up before Link jumped on him. That and the faulty motion capture to charge the Master Sword with lightning made it so frustrating I never actually finished Skyward Sword
@@kitkatboard Him jumping up is normal , but after that he has only a few hit points before he lies again. And each time he takes more time to get up again.
@@Pochi361 I made him fall like 12 times and he still got up like nothing in less than 2 sec. Even asked my big sister to help me because I was a stupid kid back then but even her couldn't do anything. Maybe I really did have a glitched game.
i havent played all zelda games, but with my favorites being skyward sword and twilight princess, i must say that the final battles of these two are the best battles in the entiretiy of the games. Great video tho
Ocarina of Time's final battle against Ganon is just so damn perfect in the N64 version. His dark silhouette only enlightened by the lightning striking the fields around you, except for his gaze piercing the dark. It just feels so...damn...Good. Very tragic and dramatic, too, for a kids game on top of that! I love this fight a ton. The music is also just so...Simple, yet so grand. OOT may be called overrated here and there, and I get it, but man that game holds up INCREDIBLY well.
I agree heavily with this list, but had a few changes of my own. (pretty long) - A Link to the Past for me was Trinexx, the 3 Headed Turtle guarding Zelda in Turtle Rock. The most challenging part about this dungeon is the use of magic, and the boss is no different. Using the Cane of Somaria to cross the gap to the boss door surrounded by torches is such a nice touch for entering the boss' lair. What awaits Link is a Giant Turtle glaring at you while 2 elemental turtle heads slowly stick out one by one. One being Fire, the other Ice. Nowhere in the game warns you that you'll need an extra item thats found nowhere in dungeons to beat this form, needing both the Fire and Ice Rod to beat 2 of the heads. The fire one shoots out massive fireballs while the ice head shoots out a spout of ice on the ground, making it a harder terrain for Link to run around avoiding the major massive head extend as an attack on him. Once both heads are defeated, the Turtle hides back into its shell, as it explodes rather violently, but is not finished yet. The turtle turns itself into a huge snake and traverses the room trying to ram into Link. One of its weakspots is its glowing belly, but the other is its head can be damaged by the Tempered/Golden sword. It definitely takes the cake as the boss guarding Zelda, the final maiden before the big showdown against Ganon. - Oracle of Seasons for me was Medelock, AKA. Medusa's Head. This boss is also the final boss before the big bad in Dungeon 8; Sword and Shield Maze. Its entrance is revealing itself by basically teleporting into the room, and then it has 3 forms of attack. It mostly tries to keep its distance from Link to spew fireballs at you and avoid getting hit with your sword. It will teleport to the top side of the rooms and quickly glide across to the other side shooting lazer beams out its eyes. It's final attack is teleporting into the center of the room and spewing a circle of petrifying orbs that if hits Link, turns him to stone momentarily. You can use your Triple Slingshot to stun the boss, but its also just as fun running around and using the Roc's Cape and sword to aim for it. Very underrated boss imo. - Wind Waker was probably the hardest to think of what my favorite boss was. It was down to 3, but I have to go with Molgera in the Wind Temple. It resembles a giant flying Ray that lives in the sand, and while its not as challenging, the music and dungeon item really seals this boss. The way you hookshot onto the Ray's tongue to drag it in and whail on it was satisfying. The room is a giant sandpit, making it hard to run around while baby rays charge at you and the sand waves try to mess up your movement for attack. Was a very fun fight to complete the Master Sword before challenging Ganondorf.
My favorites (if the boss has several phases, they'll all count): The Legend of Zelda: *Gleeok* The Adventure of Link: *Thunderbird* A Link to the Past: *Helmasaur King* Link's Awakening: *Shadow Nightmare* Ocarina of Time: *Ganondorf* Majora's Mask: *Majora* Oracle of Ages: *Ramrock* Oracle of Seasons: *General Onox* Four Swords: *Vaati* The Wind Waker: *Ganondorf* The Minish Cap: *Gyorg Pair* Four Swords Adventures: *Ganon* Twilight Princess: *Ganondorf* Phantom Hourglass: *Eox* Spirit Tracks: *Malladus* Skyward Sword: *Ghirahim* A Link Between Worlds: *Stalblind* Tri Force Heroes: *Lady Maud* Breath of the Wild: *Monk Maz Koshia*
I loved the fight against Eox, Ancient Stone Soldier. I loved so much I saved right before the fight just so I could reset and fight him again and again.
Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks are criminally underrated games. Only the game gimmick of having to use the stylus to move around, makes this game less playable. I wish Nintendo would rerelease these games without the stylus mechanic.
I thought the stylus mechanics were integrated quite well into PH and ST. I think a port with only d-pad based controls would feel clunky by comparison. No to say I wouldn't jump for joy at a port for these games
Last form Malladus deserves a mention for, if nothing else, his absolutely awesome final boss theme. No Zelda climax has ever had a sense of _"Let's do this!"_ like Malladus. Any handheld game that can get me _that_ pumped up deserves a lot of credit. If only Malladus didn't have the stupid mustache...
I honestly love the fights with lynels in botw. I know they aren't technically bosses but especially early on I find them to be my favourite fights while they are still challenging.
@@WarriorofSunlight okay? that's not even my point. they're not main bosses because they don't have a cinematic entrance or like a title or anything like the main bosses do.
Stallord is one of my favorite fights in the series. The music and the item required to fight the boss. I remember having a save point right before the fight on just play the fight over and over again.
I'm glad you mentioned how dark the N64 Ganon fight was. The fact that it was a dark, kinda blurry fight with epic music added to the chaos of the fight that still stands out in my memory today.
Honestly, I liked the Helmaroc King boss in WW. The story started with a boy desperate to save his sister, his enemy was this massive, unbeatable bird. And even when this seemingly invincible bird was defeated, the work isn't complete. It's not just about your sister anymore, it's about the world. As for Skyward Sword, Koloktos was just so epic. The juxtaposition of the Ancient Cistern as a dungeon with both lush purity deeply inflicted with evil, the pristine gold of Koloktos armor, infected with viscous goo. Plus being able to literally shred open the equivalent to a ribcage with the opponents own weapon is so brutal, I love it!
My favorite Ganon boss is definitely OOT with the Ganondorf boss fight being WW. My favorite dungeon boss fights are Phantom Ganon, Twinrova, Stallord, Zant and Helmaroc King. Really enjoy the videos. Keep up the great work!
Fyrus is probably my top favorite boss of all time. I can’t explain why, but I always get so excited to fight it when I play through Twilight Princess!
I have a random Zelda fun fact I discovered recently! Did you know, in Link's Awakening, if you hit the little flying mushroom enemies with magic powder, they turn into fairies every time(at least for the switch version)? Really interesting in my opinion! :D
eox was a fun boss in phantom hourglass, but my favorite boss by far, in fact one of my favorite video game bosses in general, is crayk. At the start of the battle, crayk turns itself invisible, and the top screen changes to it's point of view, so the only way to attack crayk is to goad it into charging down link, using it's pov to get link it its sights, and then firing arrows at its eye. its extremely creative, and serves as a very cool exhibition of how the DS's screens can be utilized for inventive gameplay without being obnoxious (cough spirit flute cough)
I still smile everytime i think about the first time i had to fight the twin witches in the palace wss just to damn fun i didn't want that fight to end
One of the many things I absolutely loved about TP is the bosses. Every. Single. One. Is so. Cool. A giant carnivorous plant, a literal goron beast on fire, a giant death skeleton with a massive sword, an UNDERWATER GIANT EEL WORM AND A WHOLE FREKKIN DRAGON IN THE SKY not to mention zant going psycho and stopping the giant Gannon beast with your wolf form and literally the best 1V1 Gannon sword battle ever.
On Maz Koshia too, I love that he can be distracted by Bananas. Its just the right amount of sillyness to show that you're fighting a real character, not just a boss.
Personally, my favourite boss fight in Spirit Tracks would have to be either Byrne or Malladus, for one simple reason: they make use of the most important and useful companion any Link has ever had: Zelda. Fighting them by utilizing both Zelda and Link and ultimately defeating them through teamwork between two very different characters is something that you just can't get in any other Zelda game, and I don't think I will ever forget the moment when Link struggles to drive the Lokomo Sword into Malladus' forehead, so Zelda comes along and helps him finish off Malladus. It's a really good moment.
@@olixx1213 I liked it, though perhaps I was used to boss fight phases that involve protecting someone while they prepare something (there's a similar phase in the Ganon fight in Four Swords Adventures, for example). The part that I didn't like was the song part of the fight. I could play the normal songs just fine, but I could never successfully play any of the plot-mandatory duets; I had to give the DS to my brother for those parts of the game.
I remember that Ganon from ocarina of time gave me some hell when I was younger, being that I wasn’t as experienced as I am now was probably a reason but my determination was fuel charging me to beat him and eventually I did
The only boss I even somewhat enjoyed in OoT was Phantom Gannon. I barely remember any of the bossess and those I do I distinctly remember being too easy or dragging on too long. Those two witches in the last temple in particular when on FAR to long. I have vivid memories of absorbing their fire and ice attacks with the mirror shield and knocking then down for what felt like hours. King dodogo or however you say it was a joke, I even though though was a mini boss for a second after I beat it. The water temple boss Was a painnnnn to nap with the hook shot and thst along was incredibly frustrating. But the final Gannon battle Was the worst offender. I wasn't a big fan of the first stage, because playing volleyball ball near exclusivly with a soon to be pig man, but what came next really pissed me off. I spent 30 MINUTES wailing on his tail with the bigoron sword only to eventually look up why he wasn't dead. Anyone who played the game probably knows exactly why he didn't die. Damn master sword.... Bongobongo was pretty cool though, and the Red dragon thing was interesting, but over all the bossess were kinda Trash. Good thing the minibossess and quality dungeons made up for it.
The N64 OoT version of Ganon fight was absolutely horrifying to me as a child, I remember I watched my siblings play OoT (I was like 5-6 back then?) and Jesus, nightmare Material. Twinrova were also absolutely amazing. Music and fight wise, the cutscenes, etc
I will say, while I am a Koloktos fan, Levias also owns my heart! As a kid, figuring out what was in that giant cloud dome was like some special prize, it was like another world, and while the Levias fight may have been repetitive and a bit challenging (personally), it was the ambience and environment that got me! Chased down by parasitic flying creatures on the back of a giant sky whale, very cool in my book!
That N64 Ganon fight honestly looked like something out of a movie with you fighting against pure evil with lightning shattering the sky and give you a short look at your enemy then it fades back to dark those glowing eyes following you those dual blades swiping relentlessly while music that only plays when fighting that Ganon man that was the good stuff
I love every single boss and mini boss in Twilight Princess. Each and every one has a super cool-looking design, an equally cool arena, and gameplay-wise they are all really unique. Even the less popular ones like Morpheel I really love, because he feels like a Shadow of the Colossus boss, and the sheer size and spectacle is amazing. Plus the way you finish him just makes me feel so damn hyped lol. Each main boss had a super cool gimmick, like remote controlling the giant statues to squish the spider boss, or swinging around like Spider-Man to get onto Argarok, or the jaw-dropping use of the spinner in Stallord’s fight. Even the mini-bosses, like dark nut, Death Sword, the flying monster and the ball & chain monster are so damn cool and dripping with atmosphere. I truly cannot overstate how much I love Twilight Princess. It is truly one of the best games ever made.
I liked the giant octo the most, really sold the idea behind Minish Cap that even the weakest common variety enemies can be menacing when you're small. Plus it's very creative making use of the torch.

You mean Forgotten Land
Zelda has more 3D games than Kirby!
It's also a nice touch that he starts dancing like majora
I like zant...hes weird
As much as I agree, at this point you already know about Ganondorfs involvement thanks to the cutscene after beating Stallord
Even the LAG makes the battle more cinematic, as if the universe itself ordained the fight to be epic!
dam he really excited about pixels
I've played the original on N64, the port on Gamecube, and the 3DS version and every one has that lag. I always know when I jump over to the central platform to slash him with my sword those jumps will always be in slow motion.
Twilight princess water temple boss best
Zelda screaming in fear every time he hits you adds so much to the atmosphere too
I like how the triforce of power exposes Ganandorf for what he really is.....a monster.
I know they were more mini bosses...
But the Iron Knuckles from OC/MM are my favorites.
Definitely agree with you there.
personally like darknuts better. the iron knuckles are great, but darknuts test your swordsmanship like nothing else. they are both awesome to fight, but i think darknuts get the edge with their unique fighting style, use of sword and shield and sword, and challenge. i would love to see either of them make a return though.

This time, Link is prepared to fight this monster bird, and after a long battle, the Helmaroc King is finally destroyed, exploding into a mass of darkness and feathers as the searchlights all focus on its final moments.
agreed, the helmaroc king is my favorite wind waker boss by far and the music is so good

BY FAR the best MINI bosses too!
Next time y’all replay TP, get Midna’s Reactions to the Deku Toad miniboss fight. They are Hilarious and exactly what we’re all thinking lol
Agreed. Just about every temple had a fun and memorable boss _and_ miniboss. Lots of great music to be found, too.
Amazing not maxing
The Twilight Prince fight is better, IMO. Honestly, Demise is a bit of a disappointment, given how formidable Ghirahim is as a fighter. However, it is atmospheric and very cool.
Demise was awesome
Agreed. Plus the music is gosh darn perfect

@alexiss begone
whats your other top 3 bosses?
You just wrote a book mate
The Hero of Winds is by far my favorite Link. No Holy Quest or anything like that. Nope just a kid that dumb bird shouldn’t have fucked around and found out with. That and ascending a Divine Tower and forcing the Goddesses to acknowledge him. Simply amazing
Also, be honest, he is just plain adorable.
In many of the later Zelda games, I actually like a lot of the mini-bosses way more than their corresponding actual bosses
Sometimes its because they’re more strategy-based than dependant on the dungeon item (which can make it obvious to know how to win).

I literally pog every time they get mentioned, genuinely my favorite Zelda games- though I'm certainly biased
That Pan Flute in Spirit Tracks was harder than Dark Souls / Elden Ring.
Idk what happened but they did phantom hourglass RIGHT. The bosses were so creative with their use of the dungeon items! Especially crayyk and Gleeok.
@@bilib1891 No joke, i was stuck at the final boss because i could not play the song.

Bellum is the most underrated Zelda final boss ever
Koloktos is hands down my fave SS boss, the atmosphere, mechanic, MUSIC, are all excellent.

@Craig Catto You're never old if you've played Ocarina of Time. 😏
@Craig Catto Congrats to her! Ocarina for the Ages!
“Giant armored spiders, ancient witches, dark gods,… avodcados” 💀
Hey I was going to comment this lmao, the random Avocados lol
I haven’t played all Zelda games but I can tell you what my favorites are of those I have played!
Ocarina of Time: Ganon
Twilight Princess: Zant
Skyward Sword: Koloktos
Breath of the Wild: Maz Koshia
Links Awakening: Evil Eagle
Agreed on TP zant. He was a crazy boss
@@flowerfabuki4783 zant is pretty disappointing. It's just old bosses redone but with Zant. I guess the concept is cool. And the end after he freaks out at the end of the fight. But it could of been much better
Nice! Here’s my list of my personal favorite fights
Zelda 2: Dark Link
Link to the Past: Ganon
Oracle of Seasons/Ages: Twinrova(I liked it because of how difficult it was)
Ocarina of Time: Ganon (It’s just a dang amazing Final Battle for a game and still holds up today)
Majora’s Mask: Twinmold (I liked the Mechanics of both fighting it normally and going in on the Giants mask)
Minish Cap: I have no clue what it’s called but it’s that manta ray that’s in the sky
Four Swords: Vaati, That game is just a fun play through in general for a relatively quick Zelda Game
Wind Waker: I actually liked Molgera the best simply because of the Music but Ganondorf also is a amazing fight cinematically.
Twilight Princess: Ganondorf yet again, This version of Ganondorf is my favorite version IMO
Phantom Hourglass: Bellum (First Enounter), I love the Temple of the Ocean King and finding out that the very thing that defeated the Ocean King went and took over his home as well I loved.
And Breath of the Wild, Thunderblight was my favorite aesthetically.
twilight ganon i got a fonder spot for then zant who, while a cool concept and execution really, i didn't find as well executed as other bosses
Stallord has always been my favorite. I've been playing Twilight Princess HD in Master mode (since I beat it normally a few years ago). And I got so excited when going into Arbiter's Grounds.
A few bosses I'd like to highlight
Wind Waker: Helmaroc King, atop the Forsaken Fortress. It showed how much Link's grown throughout the journey
Twilight Princess: Argorok, the Twilit Dragon.
Good going, your moronic majesty!)
Also…the absolute irony of the Great Deku Tree and Ganondorf essentially having the same Wish-they both wanted to restore Hyrule. They probably planted far more seeds the prior years, especially since Makar has so many seeds at his disposal in the Wind Temple.)
So, there’s the despair of “I’m taking you down with me” verses “Victory, but Not Yours” and Link and Tetra quite literally caught in the middle, much like how the series of events that even started their misadventure.
Bro 100000% the best boss, the end is so satisfying too
Make a sequel to that video where you made concept art for old enemies returning in breath of the wild 2. It's probably my favorite video you've ever uploaded.
I have a good place in my heart for Majoras fight. It took me like 12 years to get to that point, and my mother was trying to get there years before I was even born. Defeating Majora with my mom was a very wholesome and happy memory
Oh my gosh yes I love Stalblind, I loved watching him look for Link and act like “WHERE DID HE GO!?!?” I just stayed there watching him sometimes, I loved it
Koloktos is one of my favorite Boss Battles. Thanks for including it Zeltik!
helmaroc king from wind waker is by far one of my favorite in the series.
Koloktos was a great boss, and the three of us tried to take one scimitar with us 😂
I also really like Ghirahim in all three stages, it felt so good to throw him off his own platform
The thing I liked about the Gohdan fight in WW was that if you ran out of bombs or arrows, it would give you some. It's a nice touch, because it's meant to be a fair trial of your skills.
An evil Avocado, Demise is truly come from the pit of all evil… XD
You could even say that his malice makes him… *durian*ged.
I'd personally say Phantom Gannon is the best overall or Wind Waker Gannon.
I know! Its so fun to do 😁 but I think thunder blight would be on this list
I think the sequel will have more unique and awesome bosses like this! It will be like BOTW but even better. I’m so excited for TOTK
I’m personally tied between Zant and Ganondorf as the best boss in Twilight Princess. Those two just left such a huge impression on me, and that Ganondorf fight is the reason why I have such high standards for a final boss in Zelda games.
Bro must really have a fetish specifically for desert dungeon bosses with two phases, with the second phase being a fight with the head.
I LOVE Stallord, but I think the 4-part Ganon fight is just so perfect and epic, it cannot be denied.
demise at the end is a great fight, I just wish they didn't set him up as an avocado before hand
Yeah and gameplay wise it’s just a simple sword fight, he doesn’t need more than that and I love it!
(pretty long)
- A Link to the Past for me was Trinexx, the 3 Headed Turtle guarding Zelda in Turtle Rock.
FINALLY, someone else loves Molgera as much as I do!
I love almost all Bosses in the Zelda series so it would be hard for me to choose which ones are my favorites
Yeah same here, just mention one of many, they are all memorable
My favorites (if the boss has several phases, they'll all count):
The Legend of Zelda: *Gleeok*
The Adventure of Link: *Thunderbird*
A Link to the Past: *Helmasaur King*
Link's Awakening: *Shadow Nightmare*
Ocarina of Time: *Ganondorf*
Majora's Mask: *Majora*
Oracle of Ages: *Ramrock*
Oracle of Seasons: *General Onox*
Four Swords: *Vaati*
The Wind Waker: *Ganondorf*
The Minish Cap: *Gyorg Pair*
Four Swords Adventures: *Ganon*
Twilight Princess: *Ganondorf*
Phantom Hourglass: *Eox*
Spirit Tracks: *Malladus*
Skyward Sword: *Ghirahim*
A Link Between Worlds: *Stalblind*
Tri Force Heroes: *Lady Maud*
Breath of the Wild: *Monk Maz Koshia*
Stallord was such a cool boss ! The spinner has such potential, it was sad that you didn't get to use it more
Last form Malladus deserves a mention for, if nothing else, his absolutely awesome final boss theme.
I feel the same way about the Darknuts in twilight princess! though not technically bosses they're fun to fight
@kal the first Darknut you encounter is a mini boss.
I love this channel. Zelda is my childhood and my favorite video game franchise ever!
Usually "longer" videos don't capture my attention but this one definitely did. Makes me want to replay all the Zeldas from the start again
How many of your Top 10 bosses are from Twilight Princess?
For me none because I haven't played twilight princess and I won't until I get more space for my wii u.
At least a few! Twilight Princess had some fantastic bosses imo. Also loved the darker tone the game took overall.
@@michaelmatthews1587 agreed
There aren't even 10 bosses in that game, only 9
@@skc4188 I was not implying all of them would be from Twilight Princess.
My favorite Zelda boss fight is Ganon in The Faces of Evil
Fyrus is probably my top favorite boss of all time. I can’t explain why, but I always get so excited to fight it when I play through Twilight Princess!
I have a random Zelda fun fact I discovered recently!
Did you know, in Link's Awakening, if you hit the little flying mushroom enemies with magic powder, they turn into fairies every time(at least for the switch version)? Really interesting in my opinion! :D
Gleeok is back in Tears of the Kingdom makes for a lovely boss fight
There are multiple gleeoks That have fire, ice, and electric attacks in tears of the kingdom
@@eugenethomas1636 yup
eox was a fun boss in phantom hourglass, but my favorite boss by far, in fact one of my favorite video game bosses in general, is crayk.
Crayk was way better than Eox, no clue why he was put below Eox
North America: “Eldritch Skeleton”
Europe: “Bone with a Cap”
I still smile everytime i think about the first time i had to fight the twin witches in the palace wss just to damn fun i didn't want that fight to end
Me who has played minish cap on an emulator on my phone, I think it was indeed one of the best bosses in Zelda history, even on an emulator
It's one of my favourite top down Zelda's also, the soundtrack is memorable
@@HUYI1 yeah same,
One of the many things I absolutely loved about TP is the bosses. Every. Single. One. Is so.
I gotta say that Diababa and Morpheel kinda sucked though.
Love it! I wanna see the same for the worst boss of each game
I love Koloktos. For every reason you said. That whole temple is so much fun.
0:19 AVOCADOS
The phase where you have to protect Zelda sucks tho
@@olixx1213 I liked it, though perhaps I was used to boss fight phases that involve protecting someone while they prepare something (there's a similar phase in the Ganon fight in Four Swords Adventures, for example).
The part that I didn't like was the song part of the fight. I could play the normal songs just fine, but I could never successfully play any of the plot-mandatory duets; I had to give the DS to my brother for those parts of the game.
@@matthewmuir8884 this phase is a pain more due to the control then anything
@@olixx1213 I see. I didn't have much trouble with the sword controls.
I remember that Ganon from ocarina of time gave me some hell when I was younger, being that I wasn’t as experienced as I am now was probably a reason but my determination was fuel charging me to beat him and eventually I did
The hardest boss in BOTW is actually the rain
I'm surprised you didn't go for Zant as the best boss of TP- I thought his whole 'boss rush' thing was amazing, not to mention the amazing OST
The Sheika monk was so fun, bro. And worth it for the bike.
This video is really good. I love how you phrase the epicness of each fight and really picks your words carefully. You’re really great zeltrik
I made two separate Twilight Princess save files before my favorite boss fights, so I could fight them over and over again. Stallord, and Argorok.
When he said he liked giant skeleton boss fights I really thought he was gonna put the Stalinox for BotW
The fact that Lynels’s aren’t an overworld boss is beyond me
I liked the giant octo the most, really sold the idea behind Minish Cap that even the weakest common variety enemies can be menacing when you're small. Plus it's very creative making use of the torch.
