Great copy of a great song. The best is by the guy who wrote it and played guitar whilst singing it for a complete performance of sheer magic and compassion Tim Hardin. He should get the recognition he deserves
"Would you still love me" @ 1:23 how beautifully he sang that line. As much as I love the recorded version he did of this song, this performance is absolutely sublime. What a talent.
On this day in 1966 {September 24th} Bobby Darin's "If I Were A Carpenter" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #8 and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100... It was the last of Bobby Darin's nine Top 10 records with one reaching #1, that being "Mack the Knife" for 9 weeks in 1959... Three other covered versions have charted; The Four Tops {#20 in 1968}, Johnny Cash & June Carter {#36 in 1970}, and Bob Seger {#76 in 1972}... Mr. Darin passed away on Dec. 20th, 1973... RIP

48th anniversary of Bobby Darin's sad passing just yesterday. He remains a timeless legend.
Such a memorable song with lyrics that touch the ❤️.
Nobody can ever top this!
Possibly the best performance of any time.
I have to return here, it is so good.
One of the very best versions of this song, sad loss of talent. RIP
Bear For the singer and writer of this song. Both died too young.
John Swan has a great cover of this song
I don't think too many people realize what an incredible entertainer he was...Lost way too early

Amen!
This gives me chills. There should be a love button!! ❤️
Smooth. He was born to sing this song. Kinda like the wind was meant to be a cool breeze.
As powerful and memorable as I remember as a little girl.
