I believe Darin was the most versatile entertainer of the 20th century. What he accomplished in his brief 37 years is nothing short of Legendary. Singer, musician, performer, actor, impressionist, songwriter, producer, arranger, entrepreneur, activist. The man truly did it all, and he did it all so well. One of a kind, Bobby.

Love you Bobby ,you were truely a class act, and in my humble opinion you were the best of the best. Rest in Peace.
Connie Francis did this song on The Tonight Show around 1971. She too is underrated. She and Bobby should have done an album together. What could have been.
@@williamdane4194 @William Dane They had, what would be called, a tumultuous relationship. They loved eachother so much. Bobby, with his childhood disease and he was obsessive with her, he/they just never could make it together, though they loved eachother to the end. The movie, "Down By the Sea" with Kevin Spacey as Bobby Darrin, was a pretty good story of their lives, careers and being together and apart. Albeit, not the greatest movie. A lot of boasting on Bobby's side. Critics said as well. But the storyline, as well as can be told I guess, did depict a couple who loved eachother so much. But sometimes, love isn't enough, though they did remain in eachother's lives till the end of Bobby's life. My mom loved Bobby Darrin! I am not putting him down on Sounds of Silence. To me, no one touches my heart and soul like S&G's version. Plus, with actors like Ronald Reagan and Bobby during WWII, with whom my dad was a WWII Vet, they did their parts in film (propaganda) to help serve our country because of their disabilities (not mu dad, he was in Europe.) I have the greatest respect for our military, especially my dad and the Vets of WWII.
@@agataf1320 Thank you for letting me know that. My mom loved Bobby. I watched the movie "Beyond the Sea" with Kevin Spacey as Bobby. He went to my High School! Not when I was there but my sister was in the years he was in. That wasn't rated very good, as they criticized how Bobby was portrayed. The storyline was mostly about him and his life, obviously and his meeting Sandra and life with her to his death. From what I remember about the movie, they never mention Connie. They make the it cimpletely sound like Bobby and Sandra were eachother's love if their lives. They loved eachother too much in the right ways but not enough in others and in the movie, Bobby was terribly jealous even violent. I'd say Star Crossed Lovers but dynamite ready to set off at the slightest thing. Connie and Sandra looks/physical wise are so similar. Women then were at least in public. Except from physically, perhaps Sandra couldn't fill the shoes that Connie did. And Bobby just could never get her to. Movies on people and events, etc., are interesting. They may be true stories, but rarely are 100% true. They must attract an audience and make money as well. All the war movies one sees, they may be based on true stories, but not everything you see is true or happened the way it did. Anyways, thank you for that information!🙂
@@williamdane4194 Connie Francis, in her time really wasn't underrated. She was one of the big stars on screen and as singer in her time. Google her and look her up on Wikipedia. She was far from underrated!😊
Bobby, I have loved you since I can remember. (I was born in 1960).You are and will remain my dearest friend. The morning of December 20th 1973 plays everyday in my mind. Most underrated singer maybe I’ve ever heard. Version is really good and underrated. I feel Elvis Presley did this the best, but I mean it’s Elvis. This is just some good stuff though. He has a lot of heart and charisma. Very underrated like I don’t get it. Guess he wasn’t here long enough.
I too an a fan of Elvis and until hearing this, i dint thonk anyone could put as much emotion into this song...but Bobby Darin does. This is a masterclass in this song. I now love two versions. This is simply knockout...his soul is singing here.
