Al, Fudge - thanks for providing insights into a 'normal' working day at 6D Diesels. This video reaffirmed the reasons why I enjoy your channel. You are both humble, highly skilled, and don't take anything too seriously. Equally you retain old fashioned values such as being courteous and remaining polite even under trying circumstances. More power to you and keep up the good work!
6DDiesels funeral services😂 ❤️it.
More please , its like Monty pythons garage 😂😂 friggin brilliant AL 'n' Fudge 👍🤘🚚
i used to own a class 1 2 3 4 mot station until i had a near death experience with a vectra which closed me down but , i dont miss it any more just imagine how good the motor trade would be without the general public think hard work easy Al good luck fella
I’m so glad I left the motor trade many years ago, hated dealing with the public.
I remember a mechanic I worked with called Capri’s a “Transit Coupe” 😂
"Cortina in a posh frock" from 1980's "Car" Magazine was my favourite.
Put an incandescent bulb across the blown fuse instead of keep poping fuses, it can allow further testing if needed.
So a day in the life is mainly Al and Fudge telling stories and reminiscing 🤣
I can cope with that! ;-)
📞 🎶 I bless rains down in Africa 🎶 📞
Al: "Hello."
Customer: "Hello. Is it ready yet?"
📴
Al, Fudge, if people just stopped ringing all the time you'd get the work done so much quicker. Have a good weekend lads.
Your head injuries reminded me of many years ago when we were trying to fix my brothers car on the road side with scissor jacks. We had a friend that had a 4poster lift so we blagged our way onto that. Within 20 seconds of walking under the car to fix whatever we were fixing I'd slit my head wide open on a low hanging exhaust clamp...
M8 people think us mechanics time is free if only they fully understood the garbage we have to repair nowadays let alone the costs of running a garage properly so many people buy flashy cars without considering maintenance costs or lack of them 😂😂 nice one Al Fudge top dudes 😊
A simple oil change can end up taking a few hours of your time if the sump bolts stripped…😅
Spot on fella 👍🏻
What a fascinating insight into a day in the life of 6d Diesels, especially the guy who called for advice! I reckon that's the problem with RUclips people actually think they know you. I enjoy the chat between you and Fudge, keep it up,
Yes you do find that but hey it never hurts to help 👍
I feel your pain with a Muppet customers in a dreamworld, thinking the car is only going to be £50 to fix. I am in middle of doing head gaskets in V6 Toyota granvia. I put my hand in a fan and chopped half my finger off that was blue roll and installation tape carry on working that evening down A&E superglue stitches 😂
we need another a day in the life at 6D this was enjoyable !!!!!!! 🙂
I know your pain with customers....I use to have that all the time where they'd agree to £500 quids worth of work, you'd do it and then they'd turn up with £100 in crumbled up 20s saying they'd pay you the rest on payday
they get ever so pissed when you say i'll take the shiny carb back off then, customers using you like a cash point
Quality again Al and Fudge 👌 "too many yeehaa's and we all fell over" 🤣🤣🤣 Class!! The joys of the motortrade 🤦♂️ Al ya should of lifted a bit then floored it with speedy Polo dude behind... Give him..or her..a covering of good old egr glitter 🤣👍
Another top class episode, real genuine ordinary guys that would put most of these mechanics on TV to shame. Proper old school mechanics.👍
You've got me feeling sorry for my local mechanics now first thing in the morning im taking them all some biscuits and give them a big hug 😂😂😂👌👍🏻
lol love it 😂😂
Just arrived in Brittany after a sleeplessly bumpy overnight crossing, and found your vid for light relief.
Your tales from the beginners guide to self surgery had me in stitches (or superglue) As a general builder for many years I can fully understand the ethic, it hurts a bit but I’ve got a lot to do to finish this job today so wrap it in kitchen roll put a glove on it, Carry on, phone the mrs to take me to A&E, take down the scaffold tower, load the van and wait for an overnighter to see the surgeon in the morning. I hate mini grinders!
Now about my Sprinter, it’s a 2011 313 and engine started making odd noises then stopped, what do you……….he put the phone down😮
Love your work guys😊
Al, fudge, 6d diesels. Maybe the peoples looking for advice and your time could all get together on a 6d diesels forum where more than likely most questions could be answered by everyone else and you guys could step in occasionally. There may even be helpfulness people who could know how to set such a thing up 🤔
What a brilliant video the tears are tripping me that video needed to be so much longer thank you so much for the effort you put in to making it ❤
What a laugh al telling the story about his head brillant wrapped up like a pound of mince, you lads are priceless 👍
Nice insight lads 😂👍🏻 motor trade, why do we do it 😂, love the banter 👍🏻, we don’t need big ear rings and flash motors 😜 !
Hate electrical faults! Seriously thinking about buying an Austin Cambridge A60 again, my first car from about 45 years ago…
Electric faults drive me crazy chasing wire's. Customers are like you didn't do anything because they don't see you pulling it all apart 😂😂. Cheers Al and Fudge 👌👍
Good to know I am not the only one not wanting to be a drain on the NHS, the other half asked if we are twins because I tend to Sellotape cuts up, it does take a bit to get it to stick but its quite good when it does!
A great video as usual. A mate of mine quite a few years ago when we where young bought an outrageous hurse and we all used to pile in it the folks in the village did not like it when he parked it outside the pub especially when he managed to get a coffin to go in the thing.
Evening Al and fudge, I decided today to put me big boy pants on and started the bodywork repairs on my 1979 capri progress is slow and I haven't welded since I was 17 (I'm 41 on Monday) anyway thanks for another great video and looking forward to the next one 👍🏻
Fantastic fella only one way to get it done 👍
Porous wheels? I remember it being written that the Austin Allegro Equipe had the same qualities! The VW in auspicious company there! 🙂
Another top video. You're spot on about people wanting free diagnosis of car problems, then getting a mate of a mate to do it for peanuts, then end up taking it back to the garage because the mate has cocked it up. Keep up the great work. Your RUclips channel is starting to pick up as word gets round how good you and Fudgy are.
That was great, always fun to watch. With you on tailgaters, prize idiots.
Great medical/first aid advice. Thanks Al.
Brilliant day in the life, my self healing generally consists of insulating tape wrapped very tightly around the part of me that’s leaking, as in my thumb the other week split half the length by me being a numpty with a very sharp knife.
Just keep adding more tape when it leaks again. Took a week but skin has healed but still somewhat sore.
Excellent ringtone by the way, back to 1982!
Having tried both I consider masking tape superior to insulation tape as a first aid repair material.
I put a beautiful slice along my left thumb when a ' break back' hacksaw shot half a blade into it 40 odd years ago. I was working in the middle of nowhere so I had to patch myself up with whatever I'd got. I went to hospital on the way home and showed a nurse the neat line of scab that had formed during the rest of the day under the masking tape. She basically said that they would have stitched it up had I come straight away, but as it was nicely lined up and evidently healing they would stick a dressing over it and call it a day.
Good for a giggle, made me think of Reg Prescott with the injuries & fudge with the tea making I now think of as Mrs Overall....iykyk lol.
Hi Al, really enjoyed this one, having been a vehicle mechanic for 57 years (not cars) on heavier and odd stuff, I can relate with what you and Fudge get up to. I liked you bit on the road test about curtious driving, which I was I try to do, but there are always idiots out there, ready to spoil your day! Looking forward to your next one.
Agree about annoying drivers. But did I see Al pulling off a roundabout without indicating?
When I'm king of the world, failing to indicate is going to carry the death penalty.
Evening Al, thank you so much..needed your distraction, education and entertainment, plus commonsense a heck of a lot. Out in Ireland, out of routine, and a bit out of sorts.
So thank you so much..
The motor trade sounds thankless..
Cheers fella sorry it a day late 👍
@@6DDIESELSDorset honesty, just grateful for the videos whenever you have the time to put them out. A massive amount of work i can imagine, and you too must have the days when you feel why bother. So thanks hugely fella
Thermal imaging camera can be a good starting point for narrowing down modules involved in parasitic draws. Still got to do the hard graft thereafter...
You know, your talk about the mechanic trade is identical to how it was when I used to repair computers, people break stuff, called up asking what's wrong like I had a crystal ball, expect it fixed in minutes, don't pay up, moan about how terrible we were cos we didn't give them special treatment, abandon stuff that was a cheap fix, and best of all, the "experts" who told me how to do my job, so many of those people who really got on my wick that I wished I could just tell them "Well if you know how to bleedin' well fix it, why am I the one working on the fecking thing?!?", there's a reason I hate people in general!!! :P
Yep we get that too !! The joys of customers !!.. 👍
When I used to work in graphic design some people would literally expect you to work for them for free; "It will be good for your portfolio" or "It will be good exposure for you".
Unfortunately neither my landlord or Tesco recognise "portfolios" or "exposure" as legal tender. So my answerr must, perforce, remain "Fuck off".
Your comment about driver appearance reminded me of a story my dad told us when he came home from work one day. He was a lorry driver and his boss had sent him down to Cardiff General railway station to pick up the owner of the company in his nearly new Daimler Sovereign. As he was sat outside waiting, a chap walked by and kept looking at him. He then went over to a bobby and said something to Hin and pointed over to my dad. After he went into the station dad went over to bobby and asked him what the chap had said to him. He had told the bobby that dad didn't look the 'type' to be driving a Daimler Sovereign. When the chap came out with, probably his wife, he went over to him and told him he should mind his own bloody business in future. the chap went red, and his wife kept asking him what dad had meant by the comment. This was in the 60s.
Another reply your dad could've said to the old boy was " I'm really surprised, I didn't think you'd have that type of wife!!!" Then go to pub, promptly laugh while enjoying a pint!!!
Cheers for the fantastic content Al and Fudge, highlight of my week always! Got myself a W210 OM613 wagon recently and it’s a peach 👍🏻
Only ever had one job dealing with the General Public, That was Quite Enough. !!
A fabulous insight and highly entertaining
Please don't get one of those earrings. I was eating a Calamari last time I saw a Mat Armstrong video. Had to put it in the bin.
Great insight to a day with Al & Fudge . Great video and roll on the next one.
Another great video, I shall watch and enjoy tomorrow evening, always a good giggle with you 2, don't ever change guys.
As always a great video with you and Fudgey. Enjoy watching you both working.
You've heard of fake taxi now comes fake limo😂😂
Al love the limo, nice to meet some one who had damaged their head as much as me lol
Good honest, hardworking gents 👏 I work for a motor factors as a parts advisor and honestly some of the morons we have to deal with day to day is unbelievable! I wouldn't trust them with a wheelbarrow! Its refreshing to see people who know there trade. Great job lads 😊
Was fun to have a day with you. Have a good week. Marc from Australia 🇦🇺
That beast ... the public! Our last Transit van was dark blue and we had to put reflective stripes down the sides to alert people turning out of side roads to our presence, often during the day, and chevron markings on the back doors as cars would hurtle up behind us on dual carriageways and motorways at night. Does no one read the highway code anymore?
i found it its not a good idea to soak brake shoes and drums in aerosol brake cleaner, whilst wearing mechanics gloves, then decide to walk out of unit to let it evaporate, and light a cig, because it doesnt evaporate that quickly off the gloves 😅 ouch , i still get tormented about it to this day 😅
Excellent vid again boys.
Thanks for sharing a day in the life, really enjoyed it and the general down to earth nature of the channel.
Keep up the great work chaps and look forward to more of the same.
Didn't need to get to sleep anyway! Late night viewing with a Horlicks it is :)
Very interesting, thanks for providing an insight into a working day at 6d diesels.

Another great vid gentelmen !😂😂😂😂😂

Always love your videos AL buddy you always make awesome content and true videos because what you say and do is all completely true mate and that’s why I love your videos and love watching them. Keep up the amazing work and awesome videos mate looking forward to the next video buddy 😊
Because people expect the work for nexted for nothing and mess you around and cars got more technical as well its like me i used to do alot of welding at weekends to peoples vehicles cheaper than a proper garage and used to get loads of crap over everything like you find one rot and explain that but they still expect to pay the same money and mess around so now its just my own family and friends so i don't blame you at al at all mate
@11.50, the fault could be the nut behind the wheel!, I like how you used the correct term 'mechanic', there are so many Thick twit fitters around
Good video 👍 everyone seems to think that it’s there right to pick your brains for free
Unfortunately it’s call dealing with general public it’s the same shit, I’m a plumber and get similar things dealing with people some things people come out with are priceless
Thanks for the video 👍
Oh so true, Al.we have a customer who pays for the MOT work a year behind on his car!! I wonder if he does the same at the supermarket??!!🤣🤣
What happened to Fudgys safety boots.....lasted all of 2 minutes on screen???🤣

Dealing with the most of the public is a nightmare
Al a brilliant brilliant video no BS just straight forward as is video I know it's hard work to edit film etc but if you did 3 of these videos a week ontop of your normal videos then you would be twice as big as Mr.Tatoo Armstrong... just think you and the fudgemister are brilliant well done 6D diesels

And there was I re-watching the Infamous Bedford CF incident and then this appeared. Late night viewing par excellence.
Bloody laurel and hardy at there best 😂😂😂
Honestly cannot see why you aren’t as popular as Matt Armstrong 😂
Maybe you need to find a knackered Ferrari and repair it 🤔 😂
Keep doing what you’re doing. Enjoying the content 👍🏻
I had to skip through the detailed descriptions of multiple injuries...I hope that I didn't miss any thing important (entertaining?) along the way....
I didn't want to head but my lap top and wake up twenty mins later with the dog licking my ear!
Did we miss the bit where Mrs 6D asks “how much will it cost?” prior to any of the work being done. Those head lights are in a Scirrocing condition.
I wondered why you were called ah-ow...Painful story...lol...
Keep the comical videos coming lads love it! What’s the show that u said you were attending in the old pug estate al?
The festival of the unexceptional 👍
Al dare I ask about a certain dumping ground /health hazard behind someone's house ?
Are you getting anywhere.
My last two Skodas had exactly the same tyre bead leaking. Pain in the bum. I expect the wheels are made by the same company.
telepathic consultanycy is 10.000 every answer aftrer that is 10 grand they soon get the message
Just what I needed to cheer me up having come back from the pub where I've been drowning me sorrows after stripping an injector bolt in my 300k mile W211 this afternoon.
Ah that’s easy to sort fella, have a look at the silver sprinter luton video and you can see the kit you need to easily sort it 👍
@@6DDIESELSDorset Thanks!
I NEED ME A 6D HOODIE!!!!
Google monkeez ink and drop Derick a message 👍
Theres a certain sort of genius involved in buying a limo to to the job most people would buy a god awful Citroen Picasso for. One question though - did he achieve nobel prize winning levels of genius by getting one with a partition?
Yep she’s sound proof too 😂😂
@@6DDIESELSDorset He's thought this out hasn't he?
I had a V reg W210 cdi 15 years ago. Lovely car, but soooo rusty
