Sounds like stress headaches. Last all day, day in, day out and are exhausting because they run you down and can also have a negative impact on your overall health. Luckily you have recognised an issue and are seeking help which is the correct way to go, Kudos on that one and good luck.

Thumping head & sweating in the afternoon?
Goes away a couple of hours after getting home/away from stress?
Yep - been there when I was running my own SME.
Having someone to talk to (preferably NOT NHS & NOT on the record is an excellent route.

I applaud you on being so open about mental health. Well done you, (I hope I got the term right). You were dead on when you talked about men and the reluctance to admit we have issues. Being strong, being a real man isn't hiding from problems, it's acknowledging them and meeting them head on. Then we can be better for our significant others, our children and all those around us.

Hello Lee, it takes real guts to be so open & honest about your mental health issues...
I personally think that you have way to much going on, but every one is different at how they handle lifes pressures...
Running your own business effectively is enough for the majority, especially as all engine building has to be done cock-on, unlike the majority of the Coswoth rebuilds that you get sent...
Carry on your high standards of machining & rebuilds, maybe just do one you tube channel & include everything, viewers can take it or leave it...
Remember, sometimes a slower pace can win the race ultimately...
    All the best👍

My father used to suffer a lot from migraine, starting in his fifties....
Being a surgeon himself I can not recall him ever finding a cure or solution!!..... apart from painkillers.
But neither I remember him ever suffering from migraine again after he,at the age of almost 65,stopped working!
It is surely a stress/workload related disease!!
    Thanks again for another vid!!!
I love to watch my ‘Barum-Engines-Soap’ at the end of the day!!! (There’s two of’em now!!!)
But never forget to choose for yourself!!! (and your family of course!!)... next are your employees, friends, relatives, neighbours and so on..
We RUclips parasites we love your vids!!!
But as we communicate and ask questions,we occupie you, expecting you to reply.... to explain.... be patient and polite...
Never underestimate the load all this (probably unexpectedly..) puts on your shoulders....
Being 61 years of age meself..... I am pretty sure we (North-Western Europeans-) are very likely to take on too much...
It doesn’t make you any better.... at some stage obliging to more commitments goes at the cost of your personal well-being....
Your dearest ones will probably be the first ones to notice.... but not wanting to be a ‘bother’ might put op with it... I suppose they will, understandably, be very modest about expressing their feelings....
Overloading oneself one can easily loose the ‘overview’....
    Take it easy Lee!!
Choose,ABOVE ALL,for you and your dear ones....
Kind Regards, your Channels are in my top five!!!.... but I am no more than an a fan and observer...

Hi Lee! Two questions which have been asked previously, but to which I have seen no answers:
    1. What evere happened about all the machinery and kit that the Yank promised to send you FOC, several months ago. Did it all turn out to be a huge spoof?
    2. Would it please be possible to see some "catch-ups" with engines on which you have worked? Particularly the very high performance ones?
All the best and keep up the good work.

Everyone I know; including myself; devolved of migraines after changing to low carb ketogenic or carnivore diet. They are also an indicator of low B12 and D3 and K1 vitamins; all in red meat in abundance. Natural colloidal sources of minerals and vitamins are best and devolve need to attempt follow the money "pills for all ills." That includes so called health supplements; all pharma and many synthetic and useless as well as expensive.

Good to see you are dealing with it. Depression and vague coldy fluey symptoms are unhappy bedfellows. Was a regular migraine sufferer and in my case it was sinuses. I still get a "pea souper" from time to time. You may just have picked up an infection from the nippers. All the stuff you use in the shop and particularly the solvents do not help. Look up some symptoms and I don't want to go into them here! Simplest solution first. All the best.

I have the same thing Lee, where I am sick or not well quite often. I also say it's the kids but I think the biggest factor is stress or exhaustion. I work alot as a cnc machinist for a mining company in canada, as do you and I'm proud of that but at the same time I have found a few hobbies as an outlet and that has been helping me alot. I have anxiety and depression issues so I try to keep going because when I stop it sets in. But as I said the hobbies have helped, I build cars with my son's and also rc cars with them and my daughter. They live it as do I so maybe it's something that could help. I hope you get some answers from the psychologist, I am very interested as to what they say.

@Barum Engines Lee, PLEASE do notice how milky this, and a lot of other videos look when you're inside and especially sunlight (like at the start where you're looking towards the entrance) get, even your light fixtures cause things to go milky looking around them to a lesser extent. That is almost always a smudged lens causes that. It can be a scratched one but if a GoPor, mostly they're replaceable though I'm fairly sure that's just smudged, even just touching it with relatively clean hands can be enough. I don't get this too much because of the climate here but fogging I do remember causing it too when I've been other places and a cure for that is to try and get the camera to a temp a little above ambient, sometimes I've put them inside my jacket to let my body heat gently warm them. This isn't disastrous but solving it will greatly improve the quality of the video and EVERYTHING will be crisp and sharp, even looking towards that door.
I'm honestly not trying to be critical for the sake of being critical, I'm just trying to hopefully help you to improve your video quality.

Hi, I had the same issue with motorway driving. It would manifest very badly if I could see really long distances, like the stretch of the m40 north heading towards Thame and Oxford from London.
It went away as quickly as it started. Coping techniques:
    1. No music
    2. Radio 4 as it’s all talking
    3. Concentrate on the car in front and the immediate rad ahead with just brief glances further down the road, enough to be safe and keep situational awareness.
    4. Take a break and remember that waiting an hour is not a problem. A 5 hr journey vs a 4 hour journey is not the end of the world.
    5. Keep in mind you can always go to a hotel for the night, I never needed to as the thought was enough to know I had a safety net.

The modern LED lights used in vehicles massively disrupt melatonin levels and all have intense blue light. Blue light protection glasses can help to a degree but avoiding night driving is the best solution. Wearing sunglasses massively reduces the skins vitamin D manufacture process as the eye needs the UV stimulation and also manufactures vit D. There is never any need to wear sunglasses in abysmally low UV level UK and most people are hugely vitamin D deficient and seasonal effective disorder (SAD) is a low UV exposure consequence as are many health cascades. Lee needs serious effective detox and better, appropriate diet and not the typical "Children's Birthday Party Factory-made Frankenfood Ping Diet". After 30 the body typically loses the battle against dietary abuse unless remediated sensibly. Jordan Peterson is a case in point.

Pleased to see you getting help. Something you might want to consider (therapist could advise possibly), is looking for a business support group or a business coach. There are multiple types of Mastermind Group available (Vistage, Academy of Chief Executives and so on). Some (Vistage definitely does) include business coaching as part of the offer. Ideally, you are looking for someone who knows your business world and understands the issues you face. I have seen people from other industries benefit hugely from Mastermind groups and coaching. Please avoid the people who work to a formula - there are some franchised coaching firms out there that appoint anyone with a pulse and franchise fee as a coach. You need to work with people who have lived through issues similar to the ones you face in your business. Personal recommendation from someone you trust will be the best way forwards if you should decide to take this path.

A friend of mine, his wife, has had migraine headaches for many years. Her doctor prescribed a self administered shot for real Migraine headaches. She takes the shot and twenty minutes later she is migraine free for days. I will not lie to you, they are expensive. However, if you knew how much time she lost working from home, the shots pay for themselves with piece of mind.
If you don't own one, get yourself a blood pressure cup. Check your blood pressure when a migraine comes on. I don't want my favorite car guy having a stroke. Get a hold of some probiotics to improve your immune system. Check into getting monthly vitamin B-12 shots. Another friend of mine got those and it changed her life.
Take care, best wishes. Alan from NC, USA

Hello Lee You say quite often the Crankshaft needs Polishing , What does Polishing Achieve ?

    • @georgebettiol8338
      @georgebettiol8338 10 месяцев назад +1

When crankshaft journals are ground, the process leaves little burrs or jagged flaps that protrude above the surface. These are tiny and can only be visualised by using a microscope. If the surface is left as ground the aforesaid burrs will cut accross the oil film and dig into the bearing material thus reducing its life. Poiishing is used to ameliorate the journal's surface by reducing the height of the burrs and jagged flaps. The direction of polishing is also important to ensure the jagged flaps face away from the journal's surface direction of travel.
