Kartik always tried to come out of his Luv Ranjan boy era. His attempt in Dhamaka, Freddy or even in commercial films like Satyaprem. Whereas he was an easy target of getting stereotyped.
I think he has been dragged quite a bit by the media also. Where they focus entirely on his stints with rom com genre, not really giving him his props for his experiments
There was No pushed Love story, no Rigorous Patriotism, No Super-Drama... Just an earnest efforts to show the Glimpses of Journey of Murlikant Patankar... The most beautiful thing about the movie was, they didn't make it a Crash Course on him... The BGM was well done according to me... The Boxing Sequences were commendable, atleast better than Bollywood standards.. The Swimming scenes, i felt there were too many camera shots which made it a bit bizzare... But the Climax, ohhh mannn... It really felt Murli Was sitting in a Theatre and his whole life was playing in the Podium infront of him... Beauty! But i did felt the Continuous Flashback of dialogue were too much... Its really good that they stayed to the Theme of Murli and his struggles even after Paralysis. And didn't take a Major U-turn with unnecessary patriotism... They kept the movie a Biography of a self-centred person who will cross any obstacles to reach his Goal which is really good...
The fact that he is trying and he is convincing us that he has potential, he doesn’t want to associate himself with the label of just a massy star but a star with real acting talent. He is experimenting. And we cannot ignore him
People get jelous when they see someone better than their favourite. But their ego won’t let them to appreciate and accept the fact that their favourite is not best. Hence degrading other is the only way left.
Kartik has everything going for him- Good script selection Big productions General audience like him He just needs to keep pushing harder when it comes to acting and nobody can from this Gen will be able to match him.

83 was a massively underrated film by Kabir Khan. I'm perplexed about its failure to this day. Maybe it lacked the 'masala' tropes of a typical winning story, that's why..
If this man hadn't done Dhamaka Freddy and Satyaprem. I couldn't had a confidence in this movie. But these movies made me realise he is a serious actor if given for the roles. ❤

Previous era of actors used to give 5-10 flops, but still do experiments with their rolls and do atleast 3-4 films in a year, which eventually improved their acting skills and found their zonor unlike today actors who do 1 film in 2-3 years and afraid of doing experiment with their rolls, this movie was just like now a days misdirected and poor skilled acting

The problem with biopics in Hindi cinema is that the actors like SSR, Vicky Kushal, Karthik Aryan, Farhan Akhtar Aamir khan etc did justice to their roles, but not all directors are able to make the best product, last great biopics in Hindi cinema for me are Dangal, MS Dhoni and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
New york, Sultan, Ek tha tiger, Bhajrangi bhaijan, 83 and now chandu champion kabir khan is such a talented director and how he doesn't even in his single movie adds unwanted love story, over the top patriotism and forceful comedy. Even the love story in his movies have a purpose and are important part of the narrative and character, the doordarshan comedy in ek tha tiger or munni eating non veg in bhajrangi bhaijan and him finding out about it in hilarious way doesn't come across as forced. And we all could feel the patriotism unlike other movies when the kid lifted his flag when the india team lost its match against west indies to refuel its hope. This guy needs more appreciation!!
This movie will have a similar path as Murlikant Petkar sir and i am sure of it. Movie was good but the trailer is the voice of the movies these days and from that pov the movie failed to give a nice preview about it . But I know it will do great in the future when the audience realises it's true potential in the future just like with Murlikant sir was recognised later in life.

People literally cried in theatre.. And i am still amazed with the story of Mr petkar.. If a person has hopes and determination he can achieve anything.. Watch for your faimly for your kids best future, for your own survival on earth.. These stories required to be told, to be watched to be hopefull and persistent.. I had a fight w/ my sister before watching this film, and I saw the trailer....and then I went for the movie with no expectations and came out a happy man, feeling a sense of pride for Murli sir, someone who I do not know and was rooting for him. Props for Kartik for playing this role well...heard this movie initially casted SSR, but due to his unfortunate demise, Kartik was casted. Oh boy, what a good movie this was after ages in a theater....2024 is age of new cinema for India I feel 🎉❤

I liked the movie more than I liked Kartik's performance. It is definitely worth a watch. In many places I felt Kartik went in and out of character. Someone like a Ranbir who is way more polished as an actor could have been a better choice for this role. Among non stars Vikrant Massey or Rajkummar Rao could also act better I guess. Kartik's raw edges still show which is not a good thing. But full marks for effort. The direction was also very average. Certain shots were interesting but a name like Kabir Khan promises way more efficiency. Overall this is a good one time watch. The lack of a female lover track was refreshing.
I just watched it tonight and what a movie it is!! Such stunning performances by Kartik and Vijay Raz and almost unbelievable story of grit and perseverance!! Good news is, we watched it in a packed theatre! ❤😊
We watched this movie in dubai and the cinema was almost 75% full when I have experienced watching all the big and small movies in empty theatres in my last 8 years of living here… felt nice that this heartwarming story was received well. I hope it’s a success as I liked it specially bara tiger and chota tiger 😊 Can’t not mention jeet ka geet song by Shaan which I think was totally a song of either KK’s level or shaan’s - this song added a lot of value in those last scenes

The problem is that the common man has so many miseries and issues to deal with in their regular life that they do not want to watch others struggles. That is the major reason masala movies are more successful than such genres.

May I interject something here I kind a feel lately that Bollywood is more dealing with either motivational, biopic kind of movies. No other approach 😢 why?! Kartik really needs to work on his emotional scenes; also, a few scenes of him smiling ear to ear were really cringeworthy. Vijay Raaz was superb as usual. The movie was all over the place but still watchable. I personally feel Maidaan was a better and more well-crafted sports movie than this one.

This movie will have a similar path as Murlikant Petkar sir and i am sure of it. Movie was good but the trailer is the voice of the movies these days and from that pov the movie failed to give a nice preview about it . But I know it will do great in the future when the audience realises it's true potential in the future just like with Murlikant sir was recognised later in life.

It was mid for me, Karthik Aaryan was great though, hopefully bollywood will again make great biopics like Dangal, Ms dhoni etc
I felt like it was so much better than biopics that otherwise dilute storyline’s with romantic sub plots or nationalistic fervour

Kartik Aryan has done a commendable job in this movie , superb acting , with every new genre he does he keeps getting better and better and surpasses his own record and surprises the audience with his talent that he is the perfect fit for any role , I hope one day he becomes the biggest actor on the world that big banners would be dying to collaborate with. Hope and pray the best for him. Terrific performance , had tears in my eyes while watching the movie.. after SRK he is the only bankable actor in his league. ❤

People literally cried in theatre.. And i am still amazed with the story of Mr petkar.. If a person has hopes and determination he can achieve anything.. Watch for your faimly for your kids best future, for your own survival on earth.. These stories required to be told, to be watched to be hopefull and persistent.. Best parents must take their children to this movie.

I had a fight w/ my sister before watching this film, and I saw the trailer....and then I went for the movie with no expectations and came out a happy man, feeling a sense of pride for Murli sir, someone who I do not know and was rooting for him. Props for Kartik for playing this role well...heard this movie initially casted SSR, but due to his unfortunate demise, Kartik was casted. Oh boy, what a good movie this was after ages in a theater....2024 is age of new cinema for India I feel 🎉❤

I liked the movie more than I liked Kartik's performance. It is definitely worth a watch. In many places I felt Kartik went in and out of character. Someone like a Ranbir who is way more polished as an actor could have been a better choice for this role. Among non stars Vikrant Massey or Rajkummar Rao could also act better I guess. Kartik's raw edges still show which is not a good thing. But full marks for effort. The direction was also very average. Certain shots were interesting but a name like Kabir Khan promises way more efficiency. Overall this is a good one time watch. The lack of a female lover track was refreshing.
As a normal audience, i really respect actors like kartik aryan to accept these challenging roles .

We watched this movie in dubai and the cinema was almost 75% full when I have experienced watching all the big and small movies in empty theatres in my last 8 years of living here… felt nice that this heartwarming story was received well. I hope it’s a success as I liked it specially bara tiger and chota tiger 😊
Can’t not mention jeet ka geet song by Shaan which I think was totally a song of either KK’s level or shaan’s - this song added a lot of value in those last scenes

May I interject something here I kind a feel lately that Bollywood is more dealing with either motivational, biopic kind of movies. No other approach 😢 why?! More motivation probably lead us to our wavering mindset now. Bollywood does need to change now. I miss the early 20s movies which did entertain and motivated us equally I believe

Kartik really needs to work on his emotional scenes; also, a few scenes of him smiling ear to ear were really cringeworthy. Vijay Raaz was superb as usual. The movie was all over the place but still watchable. I personally feel Maidaan was a better and more well-crafted sports movie than this one.
