Just ordered set of 440cc volvo 1.9t injectors from the US, slowly buying shit up and getting ready to put on a turbo in the winter while I don't drive it. This is sooo fucking informative plus entertaining. I'm so glad your channel got recommended to me.
hot tip. pack / block the inside of the c channel bumper with styrofoam , (I used two small chunks each just inside the bolts that mount through my bumper ... otherwise the air can use the bumper to channel away from your intercooler /radiator. Also, plug in your o2 AFTER you thread it in or the wire is twisted
I got an e46 build with a top mount and the welds on the downpipe are starting to go on the hot side of the turbo. I gotta fab up something like this... Love your videos because they just keep me going on my own stuff and you know what's up with these turbo builds.
Glad to see some good views on the bottom mount down pipe. I was wondering about clearance, but glad to see it looks super simple. I have most of the parts for another AWIC system, so that's probably the route I'm going with on my setup.
Not gonna say I’ve been swayed from a centrifugal/twin screw but… this is something i didn’t really think about. Also I have that same magnaflow #16533 funny enough my only mod.
I see in the SCG-1 manual it recommends 24 inches from the turbo I have a similar set up to the one in this video and like the placement on the downpipe have you had any issues with the placement being so close? thank you
Love the vids. I have a 99 with the B28 . Been sitting on it for years to do work like this. Just got an aluminum valve cover to boost 20 hp. 😂 Going for the euro-spec. Secondary air pump/CCV/O2 sensor delete with tune from Bimmer world. Stroking to 3.0 might be cool too. Do you replace your crank and cam bearings?
@@hellrotgarage I’ll look into it! It looks like they tweaked the euro tune at bimmerworld due to US emission laws so they don’t delete the O2 and you need to pay for a “stage 2” for secondary air pump removal? Nty. I’ll take your advice and shop around. Thank you very much brotha-love
@@bluejeansonfire6 Is there really any benefits of going tubular in this case? I read some where the cast create more engine bay heat. Say with a max goal of ~500whp.
Did you have to trim the bumper at all to clear the intercooler? I’ve got the same intercooler you do (luckily the welds actually look good) and I’m having a ton of issues gettin the bumper to fit.
only series i look forward too
Super cool build , keep the videos coming ! As a certified welder for 20years now , your S.S. Thin wall mig welds are not bad at all.
Thanks a lot!
Your videos are a gift for the E46 community!! Thank you!!!
Thanks man!
Finally someone doing this to my exact same car (the automatic version and all) now I can follow exact steps, thank you man!

Gotta say dude, as a new e46 owner these videos are an absolute treat
ive been wanting to do this top my 330ci for so long now and so far this is the best user friendly video yet
Thanks man!
Jesus dude you’re building this e46 faster than I’m even thinking through doing mine lmfao, I love the content!
Could paint the intercooler black if you want to keep the stealthy look
You can paint the intercooler black so it's less visible
Binge watching the fuck outta this series lol !!! Love that it's broke up into pieces. Way easier to find certain details!👍
Thanks man, Iv considered doing a longer video of them all with all the main highlights in it.
Woot cant wait to see the power you make

After watching your videos ive decided to have my car tuned by beracing. I cant wait to rip it
Do it! Tell Jules I sent you!
Sent you a PM on FB. Had a few questions. Was considering the turn key turbo kit install from BE racing.
You could Matt black the intercooler and you would barely be able to see it behind the mesh.
Good content man 👍 I enjoy all this e46 info

Everything turned out great 👍🏾

I’m curious, what’s the purpose of keeping one lamda sensor?

Hey what do you think about Stock pistons on boost proof rings and Athena head gasket
So you just used one of the upstream sensors and unplugged the other one ?
Correct
what are you doing for ECU side? is it even good for meaningful boost? mine is about same I believe.
Stock ecu
what fan would you need to put on the other side of the intercooler
Would you suggest a turbo or supercharger for M54B25?
Would all this be similar fitment with the PPF stainless tubular manifold?
it'd be pretty similar, but the PPF mounts the turbo lower, the drain isnt quiet as easy, but it's similar, also gravity.

@@mikelbring at 500whp? Not really. But that’s around the inflection point into which tubular starts becoming worthwhile
Would painting the intercooler black negatively affect the cooling of it? If not that would be a good way to hide the fact it’s boosted :)
you could powdercoat/paint it with heat reflecting paint
They sell them black already
No it’ll not affect if you do powder coat , a lot of well know companies sell powder coated intercooler and charge pipes
What line are you running for oil feed?
Good job :)
Thanks!

No just make sure its far back
💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Why is top mount bad?
No ac
@@hellrotgarage so to keep ac I need to bottom mount
no you can keep ac but you have to redo the ac lines custom and re gas it I still have my pump installed as i cbf taking it off
Are you willing to sell that down pipe??? I got no fab skills
