ive tried seeing the difference between the regular and the pro hook strap, from what i can see its just the grade of material, is that correct?

Not quite! The grade of material and the bartack stitching construction. The Pro Series elastics have a lot more "snap" and last a lot longer. Whereas the classic is more all-around comfortable with a twill weave for a nicer appearance.
