To be fair, this video was before we had gambit role . (Exotic) Bow and scout rifle are great for sentry role to stop invader and support team from behind.
1. Get the sleeper 2. Invade with sleeper cross map body shooting opponents 3. Go on RUclips video's and explain how balanced, fair and high skill you have to be to use the sleeper. 4. Complain when you face a team of 4 using the sleeper.
At least they have to have line of sight with Queenbreaker. One Thousand Voices can kill you behind cover with splash, or kill you entirely inside tunnels and stuff by chaining through your teammates.
I found I can be just as annoying with Colony...stay behind cover with a full mag, shoot them all near you, reload, repeat...they often never even figure out where I'm at and I'll kill at least 2. Even better is when they hide near the spawn thinking I'm a Sleeper user waiting for them to come out...nope, sending spiders to git yer motes.
@@shrike6243 i went against 1 guy that had that and yea he wiped my whole team at most 2 shots. Like you said we were behind cover died from explosion. I was speechless and laughed how stupidly op that gun is in gambit. I can only imagine how quick you can kill the primevil.
(edit for season of arrivals) i am just going to focus on the mods or exotics Top tree hammer Titan. Helmet-, special ammo finder, enhanced targeting mod, shield break charge Arms-taking charge mod Hallowfire heart-all the fusion rifle reserves Legs- high energy fire Mark-hands on, powerful friends WEAPONS Primary-false promises or the forward path Energy-Jotunn rip invaders Heavy-falling guillotine or 21% delirium(R.I.P)
some of the best advice i've recieved on this game. didn't realize how much of a hinderence I was to my teammates until I watched this. since then i've only been on the losing side like twice out of the last 20 matches.
Strategies can of course vary from team to team, but the strategy _my_ teams usually do is: 1.) We bank our motes and open a portal. I go through the portal with my Distant Relation (rolled with Explosive Payload and _I think_ Moving Target), and I completely destroy the enemy with it and wipe out their motes. That gun is damn good, give it a try if you roll one with Explosive Payload. 2.) Do that same thing, one more time. Ideally, our team now has a sizable lead. 3.) We spawn our Primeval, we retreat to the exit of the spawn area. 4.) All four of us focus fire on one Envoy at a time. The Wizard dies quickly when there are that many guns trained onto it, so we effectively are able to save our Supers. Await enemy Invasion. 5.) Continue to clear ads / Blockers and dispatch invaders while waiting for Primeval Slayer to reach "x5" or "x6". If an invader hasn't arrived in some time, wait for them to come. Dispatch them. Any Solar Titans apply Melting Point to the Primeval, we cast our supers and mop up what little health might _possibly_ remain, if there even _is_ any. This strategy isn't exactly fool-proof, though, and basically fully depends on your invader being able to bully the enemy every time they invade, and making them lose all of their motes. I honestly _do not_ see this happening without being in a Fireteam of at least 3. But it gets my team and I A LOT of wins. We won a match 2-1 where I got 20 Guardian kills and 73% Primeval heal rate. If that doesn't prove that it works, idk what will lol Just assign people with Blocker sizes in the beginning of a round (2 people go for smalls while one goes for a Medium / Large in the beginning), be mindful of the progress bar, and be able to adapt with your team. _You will kick ass._ I promise.
Logo Tho I had a different scenario, my team was down 30+ motes because someone left after dying with 8 or 9, the other team had a primeval up so I just kept invading, of course we lost but i had about 93% heal on the primeval
A good bow user will leverage light, medium, and heavy pulls on the weapon and account for range to close the gap between a bow and a gun. The closest similarity I could give you is swapping the scope on a weapon except with this you're swapping ranges and damage amounts on the fly with no menu interaction. Requires skill and adaptability, but when mastered is terrifyingly effective. This is also why draw time is almost always the best MW roll.
Theres a sword, can’t recall it’s name, that stacks damage with hits. It melts the prime evil. It can bring the team ahead of your opponents if you target the prime evil with three or four stacks.
It is a random perk that can appear on most legendary swords, it's called Whirlwind Blade. Tag Whirlwind Blade with Relentless Strikes, which refunds ammo every three hits, and you have a killer.
Don't just stay where the bank is, stocking in heavy ammo, waiting for the invasion portal to pop up. It's soo annoying to have teammates that don't kill enemies, don't gather motes, don't contribute at all. If you want to PvP so badly, play Crucible. To be successful in Gambit, you have to do PVP and PVE.
Only tip I'd add is to make use of special and heavy ammo finder. You don't spawn with heavy and only one mag of special. It is very easy to be stopped in your tracks because you run out of ways to kill blockers or majors.
I've never seen anyone else use it but when I'm running a pvp build I use Crooked Fang. That weapon is still 1 shot headshot and can do a nice amount of boss damage as well. It leaves your exotic weapon slot open for anything else.
A good team is going to melt their Primevil immediately after getting a few stacks which means you won't really have enough time to invade if you wait for the health bar to start dropping. You usually want to either invade right away or wait around 10 seconds to make sure they're not mid super to clear the Envoys.
Sometimes it can be beneficial to invade AT spawn; especially if you can kill 2-3 enemies before they burn their witches so you can buy your team some more time if they need 5-10 more motes. Halting their ability to slay their witches so they can get stacks can help you in the long run if done right. Not to mention the invasion itself can disorient random-stacked teams by making them focus on you alone and not the enemy combatants, especially if your team drops multiple sml/med taken on them. If you're in a premade leave it to the residential PVPer/Invader
Amen brother! It does no good to invade the instant the opposing team summons it's primevil! What are you expecting to do, heal their primevil past 100%?!
True on the those motes. I've seen a lot of guardians fall from the other team. Even I've made that same mistake at first. Sleeper has chance to ricochet to get two kill instead of one if lucky. Yes, you speak wisdom on boss take down.
@Datto Dead Ender, the Dead Orbit Linear Fusion Rifle is a near Sleeper Equivalent with 4 rounds in the chamber instead of three, with the Outlaw perk if you got it before random rolls. One shot body shot, highly recommend. Also Telesto-ing the enemy Power Ammo and getting the kill after leaving is the downright most funny thing I've ever seen
Every time I team wipe with a bow now, I’m going to think- Are you good? Or do you just think you’re good? For the Book of Datto, 12:07 says “As for bows... stop. Stop using them. I have sinned
Last tip about the bows being bad, I have to disagree, ( this my opinion from playing on console , critisim is welcome ) I always use subtle calamity with the sin warlock helmet and get my super 2-4 ( 6-8 times when my friend is running tether) a match, granted any other void weapon could do the same but the bows capability of one shotting red bars and from safe distances makes it that much more effective and doing alot of damage to stronger enemies again from safer distances than any other void energy, yet bows can't be seen from far away they got no glow indicator on them, never lost a match when running that build ,especially when it's a legendary so it opens up more options for your other slots, a shotgun for the elites and the boss , (tractor cannon is the best since it helps you out overall) , when nessescary , for Invaders but most of the time two good head shots do the trick since you can't bait their sleeper shot and duck back into cover before they do , never lost a match running that build even when solo, and against. Bows are so good man lol.
Just another question to you. I've never played gambit yet since I want to up my light level more: How is that nezarec sin + subtle calamity loadout in gambit? It's either that or graviton lance for me
@@mithunjo it's just feels so devlish when you're getting your super first and just annihilating everything and every one , especially with the new void super lol so much that I never equip it without the helmet
I always play gambit with a sniper equipped and I take role as invader killer, because I'll usually counter snipe them or just quickscope them outright. I know it's not the best strat but sure it's fun when it works
I actually enjoy the concept of gambit, it's the other players who constantly hoard motes that irritate me. I literally had a gambit match where 2 players had 13-15 each and one fell off the map the other rushed into the middle of a group of mobs and got killed. I recently got a bygones from a gambit match and it's amazing to use in all aspects. It's surprising, I recently came back from a break from D2 and going from previous weapons of auto rifles to pulse and a few handcannons is quite the change up.
Queens broken bow is really good when set to the faster charge time for invading and invaders. Its not hard to hit a head shot with and its one shots if you do. It also blinds bosses but really its for countering sleeper since it charges 3x faster
Here’s a tip I haven’t seen people give. Learn to at least body shot with aggressive snipers, headshots are better but two shots are good enough. Why when you can borderline garuntee a kill with sleeper should you snipe? A) sleeper gives you away, the laser cannon leaves a trail for half a second! Snipers do have a trail yes, but they don’t linger! B) you will have significantly more ammo for use! This have saved my ass more than I’d like to admit AND let me kill an entire team off. C) aim to pick off the weak ones. You can take 75% of someone’s health off and most the time when people are damaged, they are missing at least 25% of their health in pve gambit!
I go solo in teams and average 40motes per game. I like to be the adds/blocker killer and let others take motes but change it up when I notice no motes are being dropped. My tip.... 1. Drop motes before going to the next wave.
Playing through Gambit, I have realized a couple things: 1. EVERYONE is your enemy, including your "team". Do not share motes with them, do not help them unless they help you first, do not grant them even one mote. You alone matter, fuck everyone else. 2. When you have 15 motes, the enemy team WILL invade. If unable to do so, they WILL send blockers the moment you try to bank. 3. If your team dies and you live, you get to grab the motes. So do not shoot the enemies until the team is wiped. THEN help. 4. Sleeper Simulant users are less than the filth-crusted buttom of a bucket used to collect rat-shit. Be like them, and nuke everyone with a SS. 5. There is no fair-play in Gambit. If they're down, jump on their necks to make sure they stay down. 6. The catch-up mechanicus is shit, and everyone who wins through it needs to delete their character and uninstall Destiny 2. 7. Hate your targets. Hate your enemies. Hate your team. Hate. Hate. Hate. hatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehate-!
Use a sword instead of guns on the primevil. On one full ammo sword i got a primevil to less than half using heavy swing and no other boosts. Also swords with high damage output will kill an invader in one heavy swing. Once you start running towards an invader even if they are using sleeper 50/50 they will either run (which stops them from killing teammates and allows you to chase and kill them) or they will try to shoot and if you have a high guard stat on your sword you will survive that shot and you can bum rush the invader if you still have ammo and if they don't switch instead of trying to try another sleeper shot.
Once drifter called the prime evil and a guy on my team who had the last for notes spent the next minute and a half getting to fifteen at which point enemy team invaded and killed him, burned their primeval down and won
What if I use the bow and get the most enemies killed all the time? I've only been good with the graviton lance so that shows you how noobish I am with pulse rifles. I recognize Datto is an expert yet I still choose to defy him with bows in gambit. Or at the very least, my specific bow. I'm using a void bow (forget the name) that has improved draw speed after a crit (even non elimination crits) and rampage. No long reloads makes sustaining rampage a breeze. Being able to one shot 70% of enemies from a safe distance makes it really easy for my teammates to pick up a ton of motes and not die while doing so. Granted I would never use any other bow and my primary is still a pulse rifle. I avoid PvP like the plague as well.
archer's tempo-rampage, the same intrinsic perks to Arsenic Bite. Useful if you can consistently land headshots/predict and set tempo, but a poor reactionary weapon.
I am in the bottom quartile of Gambit players. But, of all my characters, the Hunter with an arc super is the strongest either at clearing ADS for motes, or dealing with the Primeval. So, Datto, how about a video about team building?
I have seen people spawn in front of me when invading on the pve side. I also have experienced it as an invader way too often, I have spawned into kissing a shotgun way too often. Or spawn behind a ally shank that then blocks a shot.
As a bow user, I agree with the 99% of players should STOP USING THE BOW. Unless you are VERY GOOD WITH A BOW, use ANYTHING else. Also, if you play solo, most of your utility is going to be communicating with your team in any way that you can. In regards to Sleeper, just use Whipser (if you’re half decent with a sniper) and you can rip through invaders and the primeval. *note: I play roughly 50/50 with a team vs solo queue
When you say it’s impossible to carry in Gambit. That’s not really true. Maybe if you have a good 4 stack with roles you can’t. But playing solo with people that really need to watch this vid, I always have most motes banked, most prime damage and most players killed. Really annoying. Thank you for making this vid.
You can use Leviathan's Breath if you have it. it's a beefy boy vs primeval & envoys, full draw has a pretty sizeable aoe so even good for trash mobs.... if it weren't for the capacity... maximum of 10 shots. Scouts don't suck (as much) anymore people have just fallen out of practice using them. I never see them but I'm doing fine with mine. I run night watch/ bug-out-bag/Leviathan (or hammerhead) on anime hunter with great success (solid for me in normal, prime both pvp and pve). And "datto said don't use bows, so I'm bottom tree bow hunter" is pretty solid in reckoning, but I just got trinity ghoul which has good trash clear, just need to find a primary to go with it.
I’ve had in one instance an invader spawn on me, it was just as transition started and my team was at the bank while I was clearing the last ads. He spawned right under me but other than that I’ve never seen an invader spawn on guardians like you said
I were just playing Gambit, and there was this one utter fucking showoff who, when the drifter said to summon the primeval, continued to try and get 15motes. And guess what? He died because everyone else went to do what they were supposed to do and he was left alone. It was such an extreme set back that we lost BOTH matches because he continued to try and get 15 motes all the time. It got to the point where I started wondering if he actually knew what gambit was because he only went to the bank two times every match.
I'm a little curious. What pulse rifle are using in this video? Is it the Bygones pulse rifle rewarded to you from Gambit matches or are you using the other four burst pulse rifle?
i never thought gambit was hard, but after some time seeing all ppl greed for motes and litteraly run in fron of you while you have like 11 motes and can get 15, i decided to go be invading the enemies each time i have my Super (warlock dawnblade is way too strong in gambit imo) or have sleeper ammo. most of the time i kill 3-4ppl with it because they dont expect the invader to rush them immediatly when the invasion sound starts x)
With how Gambit is right now, it felt SO GOOD to wipe an entire enemy team with my Go Figure while two of the enemy had Sleeper. Suck it Sleeper F#$%s! >:D
You know what annoys me?When randoms are deaf and blind like trying to go for 15 motes when the voice cue said a 5 motes “bank and get a primeval”but completely disregard it
My tip is to revive your teammates if they go down, the 3 seconds it takes to revive someone is faster than your teammate waiting for the full spawn time. Also fucking deposit when you can, dont hoard to 15 only its stupid.
I'm pretty sure 2 out of 3 Gambit loses I've been involved in were caused by some damn fool killing ads for no gain and not banking when the drifter starts calling out. I have a screenshot of me and two randoms popping emotes at the bank while some tool with 13 motes cost us the match.
I hate that so much!!! *99 motes* banked all my team-mates bar ONE has banked their motes and are waiting by the bank. What does this omega blueberry do? With 6 motes already he waits for 15; we fall behind and lose.
I have an astonishingly consistent aptitude for discovering new gaps in the architectural infrastructure; aided, more often than not, by being mapped by some oik stationed way beyond the fringes. I've lost so many motes because of this. Grrrrrrr!
I'm not defending the idiots out there but maybe he's trying to get that last large blocker he needs for one of the gambit bounties. As someone commented earlier, they don't exactly promote team play when you have to bank 50 motes or get a specific number of each type of blocker, ya know?
DarkHatred Same here, usually. But don’t overlook a pre-spun up Sweet Business. I run that and War Rig on my Titan and it does some pretty good work when the enemy team is focused on all the adds and not aware of your presence. You can spin it up write they catch on and by the time they know you’re shooting at them, they’re dead.
as a reaper I dont mind they stealing the motes..it's great even..what I hate is, after killing so many enemy and drops so many motes they get killed 5 mins later by another enemy...
One of the real problems of Gambit is the Bounties available. They dont exactly help with team play and roles. Esp those that asks to send over a large blocker or bank 50 motes. Thats just asking solo players to look out for self and get it done in 1 game. Killing certain enemy types, for example kill 50 Vex should, generating orbs or just Super use should replace those bounties.
This. I have those bounties and its frustrating knowing they're probably the reason people aren't playing a round or two of gambit properly. They need to make the dailes more simple and/or team focused instead of "lol get grenade launcher multikills 30 times (pssst you'll be done quicker if you invade and do it to guardians somehow!!!)"
I have kill # of a type of enemy etc for gambit . Iv got ones to get kills with certain weapons Etc. To send a blocker is 100% team promoting for GAMBIT that KILL 50 vex is for self only better in open world or strikes. You dont need help to do that your not helping anyone else just killing? Your only helping if your depositing motes, not challanging invaders unless your able to pvp, only going threw the portal if you can succesfully pvp, and Not Holding onto motes It Does Not Help Anyone, so the "kill 50 vex" doesnt promote teamplayer. In gambit anyway. In strikes and nightfall even raids yes thos bounties promote teamwork kind of. A bounty to REVIVE MORE would help to deposite motes and KILL BLOCKERS would help a ton.
That isn't mich of an issue once people start grinding gambit gear, as the set bonuses do a better job of nudging people into a defined role. No matter what though, there's always that one guy who invades but never gets a kill, and the guy who never banks unless he has 15, but always dies and loses them all.
Tip#1: Any exotic that brings up abilities faster is great for slaying, pls use them if you can. Tip#2: Don't use bottom tree hammers to DPS the boss, AOE damage doesn't stack. Tip#3: Don't use super right after when someone popped their super for ad clearing. Tip#4: Don't ever.....EVER...invade with motes on you. Tip#5: B A N K A N D Y O U 'L L S U M M O N A P R I M E V A L
I go off the rule of, get 5 and bank 5. If you kill a high value target or a larger enemy with alot of motes then let one person pick those up to get 10 or 15. Don't all run in and split the motes up. Throwing out a constant stream of small blockers and the occasional medium and large is the best thing, it keeps the enemies bank shut down most of the time allowing for meaty invasions.
Bungie need to change those to bank one large and then all of the others. Im ok if you kill a high value target and get 15 motes but if you're on wave 3 of the ads and still haven't banked im just slowly killing myself. Seriously changes need to be made to the bounties and game mode. Its such a competitive game mode that it takes away from it having stupid bounties like that.
My biggest tips for Gambit, as someone who’s pretty damn good at Gambit: 1. For the love of god, please stop puppy following. Absolutely nothing is worse than playing a shotgun berzerker and cleaning out 20 dudes just to have 3 idiots following directly behind you and stealing the motes from each other and pushing each other around. I’m not so concerned that I don’t get the motes, but it’s so much more effective when one person gets 5 or 10 instead of everyone getting 3 or 4. Space yourselves out. DONT BE AFRAID TO SIT BACK AND JUST GET KILLS WITHOUT COLLECTING MOTES. Playing smarter and safer will enable you to go the whole round without dying, and let your teammates dunk for you. 2. Please, PLEASE, don’t just ignore the invader. I see so many people who don’t bat an eye when we get invaded, they’ll just keep killing enemies and not even look, or they’ll hide and just wait, which is useless, because they can see your name. ITS INFINITELY BETTER TO BE AGGRESSIVE IF YOU DONT HAVE MORE THAN 5 MOTES. If everybody puts 1-2 shots into the invader quickly, you can kill him before he wipes your team, instead of trying to just let somebody else handle it and getting picked off. Fight back, fight together. 3. Stick together, but not TOO together. Another one of the biggest problems is that too often I’ll get left alone by my team in a huge wave of ads and get overwhelmed because 2 or 3 people are fighting blockers or just sitting at the bank. You’re stronger and faster when you fight together, but this is much better utilized for clearing a wave and getting motes than running back to the bank to kill 3 enemies. Any one person should be able to take care blockers by themselves, unless there’s multiple large blockers or more than 3-5 smaller ones. Keep each other alive, and then everyone can group up at the bank at once and clear them. 4. Stop playing with Sleeper. Seriously. Unless your sole purpose in life is to Invade, you don’t need it, and even then there are better options so you don’t have to eat up all the heavy ammo. Yes, it’s strong, I get it. But it’s also getting nerfed, and using a pulse rifle like Go Figure is almost just as effective (see the video), and you can use a rocket launcher with Major/Boss spec to do more to the Primeval, AND kill multiple ads at once. Explore your options. Find a load out you LIKE and do well with, not one that’s just Meta and OP for now. Hope this helps.
You and I have the same mindset, except the Sleeper part. It's a powerful weapon, but for me it's not a problem because like Datto said, most who use the Sleeper will plant and not move much. One good dodge and it's time to eat after that. But I agree with you on every other point.
I just use the good old crucible favorite The Colony masterworked to hold more ammo 8 two per gaurdian = 3 kills. Also good for ads and 17 total rounds is love.
Haven't watched the video yet. But I came up with a fun strat if you happen to have a full stack. Here is the basics You have your best PvP player sitting at the bank and not stacking any motes but defending the center and killing blockers quickly. They are the ones that will invade and invade correctly. They make each invasion count. Do not invade unless you actually will make an impact. Then you have two "dumpers" which are two people who will be dumping 5 motes to keep shoving blockers down the enemy's throats. The enemy can't deposit while your team keeps getting more and more blockers thrown at the enemy. Dumpers are important and should deposit as frequently as possible. If you happen to be like one or two motes off a medium go ahead and grab them but dump them quick. Then you have your "Saver" who stores up to 15 motes for big deposits. This will make sure you're still making big deposits and can give you a big lead especially since your dumpers will keep shoving smaller blockers at the enemies. This strategy has worked fairly well for me and my fireteam. Of course it isn't the end all, be all strategy but it seems to work against more average players. Some smaller tips as well since it took me the entire video to write this. Listen to Datto. He's a smart guy and has good tips. If you are not good at PvP. Do not invade. When you're invading it is four against one and you can be easily destroyed by a team focusing you down or someone who is just better than you. You may not be the PvP god you think you are so just know when to give the invasion to someone else. Meta invasion weapons I've seen are of course the sleeper, snipers (if you can actually use it), oddly enough the telesto is really freaking good but does take up an exotic slot so keep that in mind. Use your supers, seriously. It's tempting to want to save it up but you will get way more add clear and subsequently motes for your saver if you combo it with your team. A good tether is always a good idea to have for both add clear and boss damage later on. Stormcaller is some fun add clear as well. Kills a lot and makes you feel like a fucking sith lord. Hammers are pretty fun too, especially if you use the tree where the hammers explode into multiple hammers (Don't remember the name of that tree). Here is a big one kiddos. If you see a well of Radiance on your primeval. STEP INTO IT AND USE IT. It is great for burning a boss down and not nearly enough teams take advantage of the thing. Combo it with other supers and you'll shred. Celestial nighthawk is great for burst damage but it does take an exotic slot. However you can always quickly swap to it when it's primeval time. Kill the wizards first. Bring a void weapon to burn their shields and just shred them. Your primeval has a lot of health at the beginning and a lot of defense but taking the time to bring down 3 or 4 envoys is gonna help in the long run. The average players should target 3 or 4 because more often than not, your team is not going to always have proper coordination. Here's one last big tip. When the Drifter says you can get the primeval; GET THE PRIMEVAL. Your last fifteen motes do not matter if you can just get the damn primeval and win. Lastly, try to enjoy yourself. I know that asshole camping at the back with his sleeper has killed you for the tenth time and reset all your progress on your primeval, but you should try to have fun. Getting tilted can be the death of you because you make dumb mistakes. Gambit is a fun mode and can be a great time with friends and even the right randoms. Enjoy it guys, hope you found my tips useful and I hope you will also use my strategy. Let me know how it goes for you as I did put a good amount of thought into it. Good luck and have fun everyone.
Thantacore I favor Sweet Business over Sleeper. You spawn with Sweet Business ammo. Sleeper ammo you have to get from the heavy ammo spawn or a random drop. So Sleeper is only good if it’s loaded. Sweet Business is always loaded. Plus the adds that are taking most of the enemy team’s attention will allow you to get Sweet Business spun up before they’re really aware of you. By the time they know you’re shooting at them, they’re dead. I have more than a couple of team wipes thanks to the Sweet Business.
Man sweet business is not good for gambit, it might have worked for you a few times but at high level play you'll get shut down in no time using it. It's range is terrible so it already is placed behind scout rifles in viability.
I use Subtle Calamity with explosive head and dragonfly and, dunno, I do fine in Gambit...I keep up or lead on kills in most games unless I'm doing a lot of invading. Trinity Ghoul is going to be decent, too.
I hate you, i keep trying to get that roll. I have dragonfly and rampage wich is nice but missing the exploding arrows. Trinity Ghoul works well against PVE just wipes cooks stuff. Keep trying to get my hands on Tyranny of Heaven
I feel like crimson (or Suros Regime), the Ikellos shotgun, and a rocket launcher with tracking/seeking/cluster is my best setup. The Crimson has bailed me out of bad situations a LOT.
Another tip, don't shoot ads off in the distance or start shooting farther away enemies first. Chances are some of your motes will despawn before you can get to them and that will put your team at a disadvantage.
Depends on what your running because nightstalker you can go invisible and collect all the motes that people are making from a distance. Bows are really good if people use them correctly.
I only play Gambit for this lol. If the ascendant meatball chooses to appear, so be it but I'm not going to waste my time grinding for that exotic hand cannon.
Tip #1 Telesto is the besto Tip #2 Telesto is still the besto Telesto is great during invasions Telesto deals void damage and can melt the wizards Telesto can deal some intense damage to Primevals Telesto is the besto
The 1 time I got the malfeasance boss, 2 of my teammates left the game and we couldn’t melt the boss in time. 40 games later and I haven’t gotten the boss again yet, feels bad man
Blake H that and something else happened that was kinda bullshit and I’m still triggered about it, in crucible I was doing really good in breakthrough and I was 19-0 and then a shotgunning hunter rushed me, he missed the one shot on me but then we melee traded but the thing that pissed me off is I didn’t get my we ran *BUT* in the chat it said that he “did something about AzazelPotato” so how tf did he get credit for killing a dude on a 20 kill streak but I didn’t get my we ran medal??? Wtf bungie? And it was the final round so if my melee would have registered a millisecond earlier I would have gotten my we ran and an undefeated medal
Got the meatball boss on my second gambit game after reset. Didn’t know what it was but my friend I was playing with said DUDE WE NEED TO KILL IT PLS GOD LETS KILL IT...we got it afterwards I looked up what it was so whoop whoop
40 games later? My dude, I feel your pain. I got malfeasance boss to show up, only to have a teammate rage quit cuz he kept dying to sleeper invades, and we lost it at a close end. And now, I've played gambit only for the past 4 days, atleast 6 or 7 hours a day, and not have him show up. I've jumped from clan to clan to find a proper squad for gambit, even picked up titan and learned how to titan skate to increase overall efficiency. This boss hunt is gonna kill me.
DooplisTheGhost to heroic that all you need to do is hop inside a blight it spawns and run out of it so you get the blight receding buff, that allows you to damage the main blight and after enough damage it will heroic
Ya see, that's easy to understand and all, but so many people do not know how to do that. They destroy the blights as soon as they spawn, and can't tell by me standing in front of them, shooting them in the face, or using my penalty emote at them, that they shouldn't be doing that.
Here's a tip for you to trigger the heroic solo, wait for the 3rd blight teleport, it'll die in 3 sleeper shots, I do this when i'm with some blueberry randoms.
datto: stop banking 15 motes
me: no i have bounties to do
datto: stop using bows
me: *LAUGHS IN HUSH QUEST*
same
I was thinking the same thing lol...good place to farm for real.
Sooo... you didn’t learn anything at all because of destiny? Cool and counter intuitive
*laughs in Wishender*
>"Don't use bows"
>Hush quest comes out
Did Bungie do that just for trolls?
To be fair, this video was before we had gambit role . (Exotic) Bow and scout rifle are great for sentry role to stop invader and support team from behind.
Step 1:Acquire Sleeper
Step 2:??
Step 3:Profit
How original.
Jamel George you must be struggling with step 1
What happened to Step 2!?
You forgot "4 stack"
Step 1:IF YOU HAVE MOTES PUT THEM IN THE FUCKING BANK!!!! Thank you ill leave now
Who else here mostly dies from falling off the map
me,the motes are too heavy to be carry around
RIP me fell off map AGAIN
The amount of times I get stomped by a boss and get flung off the map, even when I jetpack
nah I only die to sleeper cancer
Yup, heading back to bank, bank is locked down, dont see the phalanx until he blasts me off the platform and im dead...
1. Get the sleeper
2. Invade with sleeper cross map body shooting opponents
3. Go on RUclips video's and explain how balanced, fair and high skill you have to be to use the sleeper.
4. Complain when you face a team of 4 using the sleeper.
5. Run into a team of 4 using One Thousand Voices
6. Wish for the good old days when Sleeper was the scariest thing around.
Or queensbreaker...that shit is obnoxious
(edit for season of arrivals) i am just going to focus on the mods or exotics
Top tree hammer Titan.
Helmet-, special ammo finder, enhanced targeting mod, shield break charge
Arms-taking charge mod
Hallowfire heart-all the fusion rifle reserves
Legs- high energy fire
Mark-hands on, powerful friends
WEAPONS
Primary-false promises or the forward path
Energy-Jotunn rip invaders
Heavy-falling guillotine or 21% delirium(R.I.P)
i lose so much because i get bonehead randoms who try and collect 15 motes when we only need 3
TheHydrex I’ll have 74 notes we have 3 people trying to get 15 We need 1 only 1 i agree with you so much
Bounties. One bounty requires a certain amount of deposits for each threshold. Loot people. Need dat loot.
And I screw them over by picking 3 and depositing. And then they send me death threats.
Hey, I'm relatively new to the game and I can't find gambit in my orbit anymore.. is it still available somehow?
Johann zinnitz you need forsaken
some of the best advice i've recieved on this game. didn't realize how much of a hinderence I was to my teammates until I watched this. since then i've only been on the losing side like twice out of the last 20 matches.
Strategies can of course vary from team to team, but the strategy _my_ teams usually do is:
1.) We bank our motes and open a portal.
If that doesn't prove that it works, idk what will lol
Just assign people with Blocker sizes in the beginning of a round (2 people go for smalls while one goes for a Medium / Large in the beginning), be mindful of the progress bar, and be able to adapt with your team. _You will kick ass._ I promise.
Logo Tho I had a different scenario, my team was down 30+ motes because someone left after dying with 8 or 9, the other team had a primeval up so I just kept invading, of course we lost but i had about 93% heal on the primeval
step 1: equip sleeper
video ends
@J Lebleu Or maybe this is a joke? Never seen that before
I already hate you. That gun takes little skill. In Gambit at least.
BATGUYGAMING i'm joking
BATGUYGAMING You gotta be a real coward to use that damn shit in Gambit. No skill required to use at all...
Do people here not know what a joke is?
You say dont use a bow but that Trinity Ghoul though.. clears adds like a super sometimes. It's insane!
Wish they would fix it, the eletric bolt is broken it does not always apply correctly after the precision kill.
This too
I feel your pain bro!
For the love of god STOP INVADING RIGHT WHEN THE OTHER TEAM SPAWNS A PRIMEVIL. If you invade once and do bad let someone else invade.
people seem to do this to my teams over and over again and I just dont understand it!
It’s especially bad when people can’t stop invading because they think they’re good
A good team is going to melt their Primevil immediately after getting a few stacks which means you won't really have enough time to invade if you wait for the health bar to start dropping.
Broo we needa use a bow for that Hush item that you get from that bounty type thing
Every time I team wipe with a bow now, I’m going to think-
Are you good?
Omg this is my loadout exactly and I've been scrolling through the comments for someone to defend bows!
Just another question to you. I've never played gambit yet since I want to up my light level more:
How is that nezarec sin + subtle calamity loadout in gambit? It's either that or graviton lance for me
I've also added a super mod to the sin and I can't wait to see how much more quickly I get my super
The way I see it, bows aren't bad. AI health balancing is.
@@mithunjo it's just feels so devlish when you're getting your super first and just annihilating everything and every one , especially with the new void super lol so much that I never equip it without the helmet
That kill @5:45 was incredible
Playing through Gambit, I have realized a couple things:
Lol I tend to use a sniper primary hand cannon as energy and sleeper for heavy I love focusing on everything along with blade barrage or hammer of sol
How dare you make me consider regret farming out Hush!
Best tip: Use sleeper simulant...
Lord Shaxx that got nerfed better tip: queenbreaker
My tip, although more of a hindrance than anything; wait for the expansion to go on sale so I can actually play Forsaken.
Lmao the bow part got me hard because now we have hush where you need 1500 kills
Thank you for making this vid.
the rest of my team just stands there while i am the only one gathering a lot of motes and shoving them into the bank
I usually get 3x slayer then I use the ikelos shotgun with a melting point and then everyone collectively shits on the primeval
Tips for gambit:
1. get sleeper, arablest or queensbreaker
2. invade
3. profit
I feel like whenever Datto invades or gets invaded with a lot of motes and it’s cuts off is when he horribly dies
I’ve had in one instance an invader spawn on me, it was just as transition started and my team was at the bank while I was clearing the last ads. He spawned right under me but other than that I’ve never seen an invader spawn on guardians like you said
Greedy invaders are obnoxious as well. At the very least, cover fire would be greatly appreciated as you camp our portal.
This video has helped me alot thankyou datto
12:08 *nervously hides wish ender*
Use bow in gambit. Get most kills, motes, and boss damage. Then again the arsenic is more like a scout rifle if u have the charge time masterwork
Risk runner is the best gun to use in gambit for the pve point.
I had a teammate who lost 66 motes yesterday... I have never seen someone lose that many.
What pulse rifles are you liking right now, Datto? I've only gotten 2 or 3 so far and they aren't feeling great to me.
odds are the players i really worry about wont see this video. they will keep invading without a super or heavy, while they are carrying 10+ motes.
How to be gambit god:
Sleeper Simulant
Bungie could also stop giving us bounties that are: get a bunch of each type of blocker.
I have spawned in the PvE enemies a few times.
You know what annoys me?When randoms are deaf and blind like trying to go for 15 motes when the voice cue said a 5 motes “bank and get a primeval”but completely disregard it
Use the queenbreaker and use can win any game
My tip is to revive your teammates if they go down, the 3 seconds it takes to revive someone is faster than your teammate waiting for the full spawn time. Also fucking deposit when you can, dont hoard to 15 only its stupid.
I use a bow, its pretty good if you know what you're doing.
datto plays one match of gambit with me, then makes this video
4:00 Must be nice to never take damage.
15 at the very beginning is good, but if youv got blockers on your side dont becuase theyl likely be able to invade.
Datto: "Don't use bows. Stop it. Stop using Bows."
Gambit: *Makes Pinnacle weapon require 1000 bow kills*
Mojave Mailman hush
Lol
The Drifter: You Got enough for a primeval!
Teammates go kill another wave & lose their motes.
Story of my Gambit career right there and nothing you can do but watch them fail and lose you the match
I'm pretty sure 2 out of 3 Gambit loses I've been involved in were caused by some damn fool killing ads for no gain and not banking when the drifter starts calling out. I have a screenshot of me and two randoms popping emotes at the bank while some tool with 13 motes cost us the match.
Derrick Buffaloe ^This!!!
That is so annoying. I hear the drifter I run back to bank if I have motes or clear the blockers if they are there so the team can bank.
Drifter: "Portal is ready!"
3 of my teammates run toward the portal at one leaving me fighting the ads alone.
Drifter: Bank for a primevil
My entire team: "Goes for 15 motes"
I hate that so much!!!
*99 motes* banked all my team-mates bar ONE has banked their motes and are waiting by the bank.
What does this omega blueberry do? With 6 motes already he waits for 15; we fall behind and lose.
Step 1: Get a fireteam
Step 2: Never not fireteam
Step 3: Profit
I guess im the only one that realized your here

I have an astonishingly consistent aptitude for discovering new gaps in the architectural infrastructure; aided, more often than not, by being mapped by some oik stationed way beyond the fringes. I've lost so many motes because of this. Grrrrrrr!

How has no one realized that
Love that guy who’s holding 12 motes when we only need 5 for primeval but he really wants that 15
I'm not defending the idiots out there but maybe he's trying to get that last large blocker he needs for one of the gambit bounties. As someone commented earlier, they don't exactly promote team play when you have to bank 50 motes or get a specific number of each type of blocker, ya know?
@@wafflefett if he needed 15 then he should have banked 15 first and then play serious. It's stupid to go for 15 at the very end right before prime.
Worst case scenario, the enemy team has a thick line and you have a queenbreaker
have you ever fought an ogre,do you know how infuriating they are.just blasting you across the map
Randumb i feel like punching my pc while reading thise, i know excactly what you mean.
People like that rage me.
Don't steal invasion portals when you can't pvp...
Archangel Gabriel I only go in when I have power ammo or my super ready
Omg this! This should be in the video.
When the pvers take the power ammo to kill ads b.....
Especially dont go over there with no heavy or a super
Some of you are good at Gambit. Some of you.... (Imagines people stealing your motes) could use some assistance
as a reaper I dont mind they stealing the motes..it's great even..what I hate is, after killing so many enemy and drops so many motes they get killed 5 mins later by another enemy...
And many of the bounties have "invader kills grant the most progress" so what?
That isn't mich of an issue once people start grinding gambit gear, as the set bonuses do a better job of nudging people into a defined role. No matter what though, there's always that one guy who invades but never gets a kill, and the guy who never banks unless he has 15, but always dies and loses them all.
Heres one don’t invade with a 15 stack of motes on you. Yes, I have seen this, yes we lost those motes. Smh.
IronWraith Tip #2: never use bottom tree hammers
+Caleb Bottom tree hammers is good if you make a build of sorts with sunspots. I used to do that. But there's no denying top tree hammers are better.
Ok tip#2 melting point is hella useful
@jnuttsdotcom #4?! What about #5? I end up getting one kill and summoning since Johnny No Thumbs is over there trying to get 15 when we are at 74.
tip 1 to 10... HAVE FUN.
#5 it's the most important. BANK. THOSE. DAMN. MOTES!
Step 1:IF YOU HAVE MOTES PUT THEM IN THE FUCKING BANK!!!! Thank you ill leave now
I go off the rule of, get 5 and bank 5. If you kill a high value target or a larger enemy with alot of motes then let one person pick those up to get 10 or 15. Don't all run in and split the motes up. Throwing out a constant stream of small blockers and the occasional medium and large is the best thing, it keeps the enemies bank shut down most of the time allowing for meaty invasions.
people try to bank large amount of motes cause of those damn weekly/daily gambit bounties
I always say bank early, bank often.
Datto: stop using bows
Everyone playing gambit in season 7: no u
My biggest tips for Gambit, as someone who’s pretty damn good at Gambit:
Alternative to sleeper: Polaris Lance. Just trust me. It's great.
Well hey! How about a Riskrunner! Try to take 1 Arc hit and then you kill the whole damn horde of ads :))
Preach because that is the gambit bible you just wrote!!
Haven't watched the video yet. But I came up with a fun strat if you happen to have a full stack.
Here is the basics
You have your best PvP player sitting at the bank and not stacking any motes but defending the center and killing blockers quickly.
Instantly ignored post for using the word stack.
Can’t suck at gambit if you never played it, #collegeforgamers
200 I.Q plays
Gotta have the bygones
i’ve played like 10 hours since release, #college
Hah, as if you think you has ascended the playing field by not playing it. I can't even afford to buy the game.
...let's see what we got, college loans on the field #college #actuallyfinishedcollegebutlicensureexamssuck
Step 1: Make a Joke about sleeper being OP
Step 2: Dont use sleeper.
Step 3: Blame your teammates
Me...before using sleeper myself
@@abbyn5414 sweet business is hot garbage
You want a real op gun??? Borealis. Break the shield of a random enemy and then you can just one tap all enemy players to the body.

Datto: "Stop using Bows"
Me: *Laughs in Wish-Ender*
Yes.
The anti-invader
Ima be real with you chief I'm gonna use a bow
how dare u
Same
I use Subtle Calamity with explosive head and dragonfly and, dunno, I do fine in Gambit...I keep up or lead on kills in most games unless I'm doing a lot of invading.
FuzzleHC exceptions: wizards, shriekers scorn abomination ogres, scorpion turrets, Cyclops.
Ure a disadvantage
If your teammates are still far away (dead or banking) you shouldn’t kill ads but just lower their health bars unless those ads are really close
@@ankaht 👍. Especially Shriekers. They will mess you up in a big hurry! 😳
Depends on what your running because nightstalker you can go invisible and collect all the motes that people are making from a distance. Bows are really good if people use them correctly.
Gambit should require an IQ test as part of the matchmaking.
I'd prefer it didn't, cus then the only matches I'd get would be people smarter than me lol
Seem Legit yessss!
Considering 80% of destiny players have a single digit IQ, the game mode would be dead.
If only. Maybe then my teammates wouldn't be shit
Specially that I thought I had a fly on my phone screen
Step 8: only play for powerful rewards
I only play Gambit for this lol. If the ascendant meatball chooses to appear, so be it but I'm not going to waste my time grinding for that exotic hand cannon.
GBuster ascendant meatball lmao
Tip #1 Telesto is the besto
Tip #2 Telesto is still the besto
Telesto is great during invasions
Telesto deals void damage and can melt the wizards
Telesto can deal some intense damage to Primevals
Telesto is the besto
Triston Williams You spelled Edge Transit wrong
Shwabbit you spelled sleeper stimulant
you dont need the rest-o
when you got a telesto
@@anthonygonzalez12 except that sleeper is better
Not with my sleeper/ikelos shotgun combo boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
2 words: Gambit. Bounties.
Send large blockers, deny motes from enemy players etc. They all require you to do stuff your team might hate
Sorry I just needed to blow off steam
This boss hunt is gonna kill me.
www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/248875274?sort=0&page=0 this is probably on the same level if not worse than your experience. F
Make a "How To Get Better At Public Events" video. Specifically the Taken Blight Public Event.
DooplisTheGhost to heroic that all you need to do is hop inside a blight it spawns and run out of it so you get the blight receding buff, that allows you to damage the main blight and after enough damage it will heroic
kairokene47 sarcasm bro lol
Ya see, that's easy to understand and all, but so many people do not know how to do that. They destroy the blights as soon as they spawn, and can't tell by me standing in front of them, shooting them in the face, or using my penalty emote at them, that they shouldn't be doing that.
Here's a tip for you to trigger the heroic solo, wait for the 3rd blight teleport, it'll die in 3 sleeper shots, I do this when i'm with some blueberry randoms.
Yeah most people don't know how to do it
Guy with 15 motes: Ima go fight the invader with a sleeper
Guy with 0 motes: Ima go fight some more ads
Me: I think I’ll juz go back quickplay
*Datto Uploads*
Me: YEET
same tbh
@@DattoDoesDestiny holy shit you responded. love what your doing man, keep up the great content
