Destiny 2: So, You STILL Suck at Gambit - 7 Tips for Gambit Prime

- Gambit Prime is here. It has a bit more complexity than regular Gambit and I thought some advice would be cool. So, here you go.
Danielle wanted me to name this "So You PRIME Suck at Gambit," but I just wasn't feeling it. Yeah. Wasn't feelin' it.

The only tip you missed IMO is, REVIVE YOUR GODDAMN TEAMMATES WHEN THEY GO DOWN. I lost so many games this first week due to being dead while my teammates try to DPS the primeval.
Omfg yes
Jesus this is annoying.
Especially when you die next to your teammates. Like, f*ck man, im right here.
I'd say try to revive as much as possible, but don't go completely out of your way for it
If the third envoy is dead and the clock's ticking and you have a dead teammate across the map then don't bother, but if someone died like 5 seconds away from you then go revive
Depends on how much you die, if it's a lot I ain't comin to getcha coz you got too close to the boss AGAIN.

Datto: NUMBER 8!

apllebees “I pulled a little sneaky on ya” -Datto
apllebees Hahahahahaha
I was just about to say that
I stopped the video to read the comments, as soon as Datto said: "Number 8", to see if anyone else caught that!!
Most people rejected His message.
they hated Datto because He told them the truth...
Boerica your in every destiny comment section
Except literally no one did
Dude I always see you in every single D2 comment sections like bruh

why?
Warlock Tip: Running Cataclysm and Skull of Dire Ahamkara, you can immediately kill the third Envoy with a Nova Bomb and the adds that spawn with it, and instantly get Super back.
You're not getting your super back more than a half percent of the time. You're getting it back fully only on a few specific envoy rolls (phalanx and guys that spawning white balls).
oof
You made this for jez after his last video didn't you?
i hope so
Seems to be the case
Who's jez?
@@iEditStuf jez is another destiny RUclipsr. He and datto are good friends and recently he made a Gambit prime video with another RUclipsr named hush. They were quite upset with the utterly laughable lack of understanding of the game mode their blueberries (random teammates) showed and typed in the chat for them to sub to datto (because he has released gambit prime tips). This video came shortly after their meme fueled rage and thus I made a joke that datto threw this together for jez after seeing the trouble he was having finding good teammates.
Jez, the Matchmaker. Maker of Matches.
Now, I have to add, vary your loadout when doing different jobs, also, just because you have the armor for a role, doesn't mean you need to be that role, and don't be afraid to use guns that may not exactly be the meta, find the gun that's good for you, especially if you are an invader, and for people on the receiving side of invasions, DON'T INVADE OUT OF ANGER, if you're getting dunked on by one guy that's invading, don't invade just to kill them, it almost never works out well for you and your team
I’ve been using riskrunner cause of the arc damage all the taken do, so I just literally get hit by a phalanx blast then melt everything
Gambit prime :
1 Lunafaction Warlock
1 Galanor Hunter
1 Orpheus Rig Hunter
1 Melting Point Titan
All with Wardcliff coil or 1k Voices. It already seems to be the gambit prime meta on console
Yep, that seems about right.
Nova bomb warlock or well of radiance? I personally run skull for envoys and ads then switch to Luna for boss.
Skull warlock is the new bb
And colony
Jottun melts it too, and is awesome for blockers. Usaully get over 45mill damage a game (over 50% usaully) using jottun and bottom tree sunbreaker
Your comment about watching the mote drain ran sort of opposite to my experience. With the teams I was on, as soon as ANY blocker was sent it felt like all 3 other people would completely ignore the add wave and sprint all the way back to the bank to clear, no matter how unnecessary it was. While keeping the blockers down is important, I think sometimes you need to trust that your teammates can handle it.
Lol I had 3 teammates in solo queue that camped the bank the entire game fighting over blocker kills.... It was bad. They had chairs out and all at one point.
@@burakkunaito6510 must be those damn bounties. lol
Lol People trying to get the shotgun.
Can I give this to all my teammates?
No kidding lol
Zach Johnson
Well half of it is people not knowing what to to do, while the other half is lack of communication on what role people are playing. Too often in solo que no one truly knows what their team mates will do, so they end up trying to do everything.

As of right now and the foreseeable future, heavy ammo is king in Gambit and often decides if you can kill an invader, and heavy weapons do massive damage to the Pimreval. If you have a Taken armaments mod, throw it on a class item like a Cloak or a Bond and use it when you play Gambit. These mods make it so if you kill any Taken with your grenade ability there's a high chance you'll get heavy ammo. This means if you grenade any blockers you'll have some heavy ammo to kill an invader, and during a Primeval phase you can get a steady stream of heavy every time an Envoy spawns. If you don't have any Taken armaments, you can get them from Last Wish in the hidden chests but they're a little rare.
A small tip from PS4: If an invader comes through in the last 10 seconds of damage, spread out and try to nail down his location. It’s better to stay safe and knock him out than let him heal your primeval, especially if he’s using the Oxygen SR3 with firefly spec.
Best Loadout IMO:
Kinetic - Blast Furnace
Energy - Jotunn
Power - Bad Omens
+ Lunafaction Rift
+ Taken Armaments
Blast Furnace is great for invaders at long range and general adds, Jotunn obliterates major targets and serves well as a backup DPS weapon, also it nearly one-shots envoys, and Bad Omens (the masterworked vendor one) in a Lunafaction rift deals absurd damage from any range reliably to do over 50 million damage in a round easily. Throw on taken armaments so you can take out envoy waves with grenades and you've got yourself a build with a top-tier answer to all situations and a reliable stream of heavy ammo that desecrates the primeval.
Literally what i use, but I use the new curated scout and bottom tree sunbreaker. Get over 50% primevil damage each time.
You don’t use midnight coup, ep shotgun with a wardcliff, I also will switch it up with telesto and bad omens sometimes, It’s the best dps loadout if you’re into that sort of thing, I play super aggressive tho.
I try not to focus super hard on the power because sometines I dont get any during games. While with double scavenger and reserves i get 25 jotunn shots, picking up 9 a block if i remember right. Also its so fun to use, then i use the new buffed kephris horn to kill the envoys when they spawn, helps save ammo
The most important thing is
Solo Q is HELL in gambit prime
ASH Prime ik, ive been grinding for 21% and noone can even play
Cant believe i went “oh yeah” when datto mentioned matching elements. I guess thats what happens when playing black armory and all you used was a solar shotgun.
I got triggered when i heard Jotunn... still don’t have it
Me2 *sad_pepe*
Been trying to get it forever, just got it with the reset yesterday. You'll get it soon!
“Yo-toon”
I got it my first powerful frame I did in Bergusia lmao
Mr. Ramen lucky... i only got the bow...
One more tip, CLEAR OUT BLOCKERS WHEN YOU'RE ON THE PRIMEVAL PHASE! They can ruin DPS phases as bad as an invader can if you let them go unchecked. Take the time in between DPS phases, or have one person early on, just focus on any blockers to make life easier. No one likes to die to Taken Knight fire, and it's just that much worse when it's on the well
Or doing DPS and a Goblin shielding the Primeval.
O P T I M A L PRIMEVAL DPS!
You meant O P T I M U S PRIMEVAL DPS! ;)
Craig Barnett yeah more or less
Also, if the enemy is at the primeval before you, goblins can prevent a lot of dps on the boss. Also captains spamming their vision blur can be really annoying when trying to kill primeval, so knights just aren’t as valuable in that situation.
My tip is to pay attention to what roles your teammates are trying to fill. If you have a collector, let them get their motes. Let the sentries worry about the middle, still help them, but they know their job, thats why they have the armor for it. Let the invaders invade. Ive had so many games where people in full reaper gear will just invade and leave the invader, who is geared for invading, to take over the role of add clear. If you have multiple invaders, let them alternate, that way the enemy team can not get a feel for the invader as the game goes on.
I saw Danielle in the background. Now Datto has never failed. He got a woman to love him.
Thanks Jez.
Heres some tips from my own experience:
1: the devour perk as a voidwalker can sometimes be the difference between life and death
2. Do not poke your head out if the invader has a sniper, linear fusion rifle or one of the two exotic linear fusions, just dont.
3. Having your team to co-coordinate with dumping 4 medium blockers can stun the enemy team for a long time. Especially if they font have 1k voices
4. Dont try running into a large group of enemies, its just not worth losing motes over one or two motes.
5. As a hunter, its better if you dont use your super if you have Celestial Nighthawk equipped, save that super.
Here's the one way win consistently at gambit. NEVER SOLO QUE
Welp, I only solo que and I’ve still won matches...
@@whisp3ringchaos780 you got lucky and have competent teammates
+IncrossIllustrates I don't have any friends to play this with. I don't have a choice. It's a game of luck if I'll get good teammates or not. Any advice for that?
Peyton Snyder Get good at carrying? Idk, there’s no real strategy besides just getting good yourself and then hopefully it matches you with better people.
@@peytonsnyder2421 Use LFG discords/reddit
A tip I can give is if you're wanting to be a Sentry and camp by the bank, gather up 5 motes and support-bank with your allies when they send blockers. This way you can monitor the bank, and contribute in kills and motes while also helping the larger blockers your allies send over by making it so the goblin annoys by shielding them, which they will do.
Also share heavy ammo with your allies. Not everyone may get a heavy brick to drop, and when it comes to invasions and primeval DPS stages, this can really hurt the team if only one person has heavy ammo.
Choose the best super for your roll!! Titan examples: Thundercrash with Insurmountable Skullfuck is top tier for Reaper titans because nuking envoys expedites getting to the next damage phase (also a good anti-invader super). Top tree sunbreaker with hallowfire heart is best suited for Sentries/ Invaders since melting point is great for DPS vs blockers and the primeval; meanwhile the super slays enemy teams pretty well.
Having invaded, what I'm certain is around 100+ times since Tuesday, I have a tip on a good sniper to use. Borealis. With the first invader perk Borealis can keep ionic return active indefinitely, thus making it a very strong weapon for body shots on the opposition, taking out blockers, and doing a fair chunk of damage to the primeval. Not too bad AGAINST invaders as well. Also, getting Ionic return to activate takes next to no time in Gambit Prime due to the large quantity of shielded enemies.
The one tip I would add that helps my team a lot is, when you skip a damage phase or two, just scatter after you kill the last wizard. It makes the invader have a much harder time. We normally wipe the wizard then spread out over the whole map to get the invader quickly and move on to the second phase or skipping depending on the lead.
Telesto is a great all-around option, for both Blockers and for dealing with Invaders. Pair with Fusion Rifle armor perks, for best synergy.
Telesto and blast furnace is a great combo.
Sending a psion with a captain also has a chance of that captain is being shielded by the psion, this applies for regular Gambit and for Prime. Even when the opposing team has called up their primeaval those little guys start to shield everything on the other side.
For weapons, I highly recommend Polaris Lance for a balanced weapon.
-Solar Damage (good for captains)
-Get a bullet straight into the mag for precision hits (great for primeval damage, bonus for the explosion round and burn)
-Melts invaders and guardians alike (three tap to the head on invaders if I remember right)
I am a sentry. I use a kinetic shotgun with a major spec and a reload speed masterwork for blockers and wizard dudes. I use a machine gun (or a heavy sniper if I haven't used my exotic slot) for boss damage and invaders. I am NOT a primary dps, my main job is to plant a well when damage starts, using my praxic fire to get it back in time for the next, and then run to another side of the map to deal with possible invaders/blockers.
One other weapon my friend has been using to remarkable success in Gambit Prime as a Sentry tool. Izanagi's Burden, to counter invaders. Using the Honed Edge trait to get a 1-shot bodyshot, and being able to be deadly to an invader no matter where they show up.
I personally have had pretty solid success using Heart of Inmost Light with Code of the Fire-Forged. Not that it does anything mind blowing. But having pretty constant access to thermite grenades and shoulder charge (Often combined with Lord of Wolves), makes it awesome for always having a tool against big targets and the Primeval.
A small tip for Reapers. Borealis and Hard Light can go a long way for a small ammo cost. Use them, you will never worry about shields or large targets every again. Also LFRs' and Machine Guns are your best friends when hunting HVTs.
Loaded Question has become one of my favorite guns in the game, in all game modes. I know it's still pretty slow charge in PVP, but I'm never mad when I realize I queued crucible with it on instead of a shotgun. It absolutely rips when you're going reaper in gambit. It does good blocker damage when it's at full clip, especially with the sentry multi-kill buff (which is very easy to get with LQ in the first place). I don't have Malf, but I think I'd run sentry set with that + loaded question + machine gun. It's also amazing as a Warlock if you run lunafactions, even for boss dps. Really glad I put in the work for it last season.
Malfeasance also shreds through Envoys like they're butter, it's incredible for Gambit Prime.
My setup as a Titan: Solar Sunbreaker, Thermite Grenade, Escape Velocity SMG, Jotunn, Edgewise or Hammerhead, or Fine Memorial if you need Arc kills. The exotic armor I mainly use is Hallowfire Heart. My armor set is tuned for better mobility, SMG and Fusion rifle reload, unflinching, and accuracy. I like to use a combo of SMG and grenade to take down enemies, melee if I'm surrounded. Escape Velocity allows me to move quicker too. Jotunn is reserved for bigger enemies, blockers or invaders, invading too but only if I run out of heavy ammo. The machine gun is mainly reserved for invading or invaders, or the final stretch of killing the boss. I actually like to drop a blocker first, a medium or better if I can. It buys time for teammates to get their motes in. The best time to invade is when you have enough heavy ammo to take down at least 2 opponents. I only invade if I need kills for a specific activity or to slow down the other team. And I feel like shooting from a distance with a heavy weapon is key, better chance of doing damage and less chance of getting killed. For the most part, I try to avoid invaders but if the invader is in my sight, I'll try my best for a kill. Just quickly scan the area for a red glowing guardian while moving to a safer spot, somewhere where you can peek over to shoot enemies or the invader while you wait for the countdown to be done. Other than that, I'm helping the team collect and bank motes, kill envoys and the primeval.
If you're a Warlock, use Nova Bomb with Skull of Dire Ahamkara if you're playing the reaper role. You'll be able to get your super back and make tons of orbs for your team. Use it to kill the envoys, as long as the other enemies are still around, you'll get most of your super back and make 5 orbs and hopefully your team are smart enough to use their supers.
Honestly, once I get good enough armor, I'm gonna consider going sentry whenever I go into it solo, cuz watching that bank and marking invaders is really helpful to randoms
I’ve mixed that with slayer a few times. I find a perch and pull out a sniper, bow, or scout rifle to pick at adds. Then I use a shotgun or sword to keep my bank free of adds for bank deposits.
I wish people understood what “YOURE BEInG INVADED” means
Translation: walk around like your looking for your keys.
Izanagis burden is great of you are rocking a set of invader armor. As you invade you get more ammo back and you don't even need to hit your crits, they help but not needed. Also izanagis burden is amazing for the sentry role
It can be worth spending a bit in your first damage phase, especially if you're confident in your team's ability to do Sentry work. You can fairly easily do 1/3 damage first phase with some heavy/special ammo, pick that back up killing the taken that spawn in, and then use supers and heavy to kill the primeval during second phase.
Here's a super secret pro tip for anyone who bothered to click on this comment to expand it: Do Last Wish raids and collect the special weapon mods that can drop in it, including from the two secret chests you can access solo. One in particular, "Taken Armaments," will be your new best friend if you're playing Sentry.
Strategy I kinda played with the other day when my team was behind and the other team had their primeval. I deposited between 5-9 motes at a pop to spawn as many goblins as I could. I envisioned goblin after goblin shielding each other and/or the primeval and slowing them down. ... And we did get the comeback win. No real idea if that strategy made a difference or not, but it was a thought.
As a sentry I personally like to equip a high impact solar shotgun because people like to send captains one to two shots with the shield explosion will kill them instantly
Learn the roles.
If you see someone wearing red Gambit style armour, they are the invader. When not invading they should be helping with farming. Let them get the portals. The class I recommend for this role is Hunter.
A player with yellow armor is a Sentry. Their job is to guard the bank (while still assisting with farming) kill Invaders and Melt the Primeval in Damage phases. Every class is viable for this role, however a super that is designed to do high damage to a single target is well advised.
Reapers will burn the adds to the floor. They wear green armour. Let them do the killing, and make sure to mop up the Motes they generate, but always leave some for them. A Titan works best for this role, as you will be soaking up a lot of hits.
The Collector, marked by White clothing stacks Motes. (Up to 20, allowing the summoning of a Giant Blocker) They should also be farming. If you see that your Collector has motes in the double digits, let them collect until they're full. That Giant Blocker can cause big problems for your enemy. Any class works well for this role.
Hope this helps. Good luck, and remember, "Kill, Collect, Burn."
Ive found code of the devistator is really good for boss damage and stun. It works very well for the hobgobiln boss because the retaliation swarms go after you and at that range if your right on the boss they will just curve into the ground. The stun lock strat works without rowring flame buff and still does a ton of damage.
Malfeasance is INSANE, I tried to damage the primevil using it only, and I did 21 mil damage. That's a great tip Datto and I suggest to use it, also another tip I would give get 3 of your team mates to collect 10 motes each and let the invader guard your bank for potential blockers, then all of your friends bank at once sending 3 knights, your invader invade gets easy kills because they will be too distracted killing the blockers you just sent then their bank will be drained to 0. Me and my team always do this strategy, and believe me our win percent is easily above 85%. I hope this helps. Note: this will work if you're a four stack and have a good sniper on your team. Happy hunting!
What about Izanagis Burden? I love it in Gambit Prime. With 2x Sniper Scavenger on each Gloves and Cloak, you have enough ammunition to completely destroy the primeeval with 4x edges, one shot invaders (without their overshield bonus from the set) and one shot as an invader.
Primeval Melt Strat!
If you summon the boss really fast, kill the wizards but don't deal damage until phase 4. Before killing the third wizard for phase 4, wait and kill the invader, kill wizard, then super/heavy the boss to infinity.
I've been (mostly) enjoying Gambit Prime, but the one thing I wish would change would be the Primeval phase. As it stands right now, you can very easily get into a huge back-and-forth between teams that have good Invaders and it just becomes a slog to get through. You bring down the shield, dump special and heavy into the boss, then an Invader comes along, gets a couple kills before dying/leaving and you're almost back where you started. Problem is, I don't know what I'd change about the current mechanics to speed things up, because I have had a couple twenty-five minute matches where both teams' Invaders were on fucking point. It finally took us to like the sixth or seventh damage phase before we managed to kill the Primeval and win, and that was probably because we finally managed to get some power ammo and take out the Invader really fast.
Maybe keep increasing the time between invasions? Like go from 20 seconds, to 30, to 40, to 50, etc.? Or you can only have like four invasions max once the Primeval comes up? I don't know. As it stands, I like Gambit Prime but I think the Primeval phase needs some work to prevent it from becoming too much of a slog to get through.
Also: REVIVE YOUR FUCKING TEAMMATES!!! I'm right next to you! I have power ammo! It takes like three seconds! Press square and res me, god damn it!!
Malfeasance is super good DPS against the primeval. You can literally do max damage in the first DPS phase if everyone is there, uninterrupted, in a well. (Max damage meaning taking it down to 1 bar left).
Held over a 20 win streak with an entire team running Malfeasance, and that was all we used for DPSing the primeval, good ol' primary ammo. Just using power and supers for ad clear / invasions.
For my fellow nightstalkers best way to tether boss (especially with orphis) when not at depot to aim the tether between the 3ed envoy as it spawns and the prime evil itself should reset your super give you your grenade to burn envoy and some lasting tether time for boss.
Gambit Prime is pretty fun. I like that weapon selection actually does matter in this. Been playing an invader/bank clearer hybrid with Izanigi, Curated gambit shotgun with major spec, and Hammerhead, and holy cow it feels just fun
I've really been enjoying having Malfeasance be worth using. It's also really good in the Reckoning. Otherwise, Jotunn is a lot of fun and super effective when I use it in the Sentry role. Not bad for invading either.
Yes Jotunn does kill invaders with the improve oversheild you survive the initial impact but the burn will finish you off (didn't test it but i just remember getting hit by one and dying to the burn)
So to talk about Mal vs the boss... First stack of primeval slayer with 4 Mals take the boss down to half in a well of radiance with a rally barricade or lunafactions. Food for thought.
Something I've been pushing is when you're not running a burn meta in a group of randoms. KILL ENVOYS LIBERALLY, seriously, even when missing a DPS phase you still get a stack. I've won a lot of games by simply having our team get to Slayer five before they get to three. The difference between three and five is insane. Also, shotguns are great for burns on the later wells, Lord of Wolves is my go to, kill a minion in the group of the last envoy and when at the bottom two locations, unload into the Prime's face.
Also warlocks with the Getaways, use them. So useful for being a reaper.
I find I am much better as a collector with sentry on the side. So I will usually run a triple shot gun build or SG/SG/MG build as I am constantly on the move. This has worked very well for me and really helps the team perform the other roles since they know I'm probably going to bank 55 plus motes on my own.
BTW, I feel like you did fail to mention to always know where the portals are and where they go as this helps getting across the map to counter invasions or evade them if you know they have the upper hand on you position wise.
Read the description Bois! She's at the naming videos stage!
What role is that Right Side of Wrong? It's just an energy Go Figure right?
Okay so my advice:
1) KNOW YOUR ROLE, seriously a lot of people still run around like headless chickens completely unsure of what to do when something happens, this is particularly important for sentries and collectors, they need to remember that sentries are supposed to counter the invader, and collectors are supposed to help on blocker duty
2) STICK TO YOUR ROLE, don't try to do everything, you can overlap (reapers with collectors, collectors with sentries, invaders with sentries and reapers), but try and stick to a role as much as possible because having 1 person dealing with 1 thing tends to be the most effective way to play
3) this is kinda touched on in the video but from the perspective of the invader not the invaded, but if you're invaded don't be passive, unless you're a collector with a lot of motes then there's no reason not to engage the invader or even actively hunt them down if you can spare the time
My best tips would be not to stick to one exotic armor piece. Make sure you have an add clearing exotic piece and an primeval one. Add clearing should be focussed on something similar to nova bomb with skull of ahamkara, primeval should boost your teams performance, maybe Luna’s after you threw out your nova. Ofcourse this is focussed on warlocks. Any titans / hunters here can post below here what you would do?
One would imagine that wishender would do some good damage aswell. Anti-taken fletching and the exit damage.
Weird how I got the notification for the video, but I can’t find the video under my subscription box?¿ Good thing I can just click the video under the notification tab 🙌🏼👌🏼
I only use Malfeasance for Primeval damage and I regularly do 35-40+ percent of the damage on my team. Do not sleep on Malfeasance.
Not worth using over jotunn ..sleeper and others tho
A good loadout for Gambit on my hunter and warlock is malfeasance, oxygen, and 21 delirium. I use these and with some buddies we can easily get streaks of 30 wins or more weve done since update dropped it is one of the best dlc to date for Destiny 2.
Been having a lot of fun using Telesto with My surrounded Hammerhead . Great overall combo and fun to use .
Scouts are a very good option for invading. especially no feelings with rampage on warlock because it can 3 tap to the head with an empowering rift with 0 rampage and can 3 tap with rampage×2 with no rift.
For the first one or two damage phases, invade BEFORE they kill the third wizard. This will slow their progress toward higher slayer stacks. Keep that 3rd wizard on the other side alive as long as possible in this case. At 3 stacks wait till the wizard is dead to disrupt damage
You said the EXACT THING I have been telling my teammates, to never bank first in gambit prime. I'd rather ait it out and send 2 nights and 2 goblins than bank first. More notes to drain and longer time to deal with adds
Use Izinamis Burden to deal with pesky Invaders, one shot headshots without stacking the perk, and one shot body if you do stack the perk, also really good for invading too
I mainly play as invader so when the well is dropped and an invader comes in, unless the boss is burnable before the invader can do anything. Sentry and invader need to stop dpsing and hunt down the invader before any damage can be done. The amount of times I've been able to nuke a full squad as they still try to burn the primevil is uncountable and I'm basically allowed to negate all their work with the healing
I typically hang back and slay (I run Polaris Lance and a shotty), keep our bank clear, sometimes run in if there are too many enemies and invade lot. Have a role but be flexible my dudes.
1: Watch the bank!
2: Share motes and co-ordinate deposits.
3: Assess the ad wave that’s spawned in rather than just running in.
4: Anticipate and or watch out for Invaders and hunt them.
5: Be a team player; revive your teammates, watch their backs, share with them.
6: Summon your Primeval first, you win.
Great video, great advise - hopefully mare people see this video and learn fae it! Amount o times I saw teammates popping super on first phase, just scurnered me! People invading when there is nothing to gain, baffles me! But in honesty, after 13 Resets, I have no motivation to play Gambit nor Prime - hate them both!
I would get malfeasance if it weren't for the progress bug
Fix tuesday
Kupo!
Well I was thinking about not having a single person wait at the bank to shred blockers, but send out the other 3 guardians to get motes and have a guardian that gets motes first, switch with the person who is sitting idle, that way there is more of a chain reaction going on then sitting at the bank all game
You forgot tip number 8. Equip Thunderlord or any generic machine gun.
Also if your in orbit waiting for more players and you see like 5 people join at once, inspect immediately to see if there is a full team stacked. If there is then just back out, it's not worth it to go through that torture with randoms who can't even revive people.
Datto! Would really like to see a video of your take on reckoning sets, thoughts, comments and recommendations.
Luna’s howl is doing pretty good for me. And I switch between a shotgun or militias birthright as my special which does pretty good ad clear and damage control. Then I’ll run wardcliff thunderlord or sleeper
I think telesto is excellent for gambit too. It can melt hvt's, envoys and blockers pretty easily and its wave clear is probably the best. What do you guys think?
If you are an invader, USE A SNIPER! New Arcadia is a huge gambit map, so linear fusions may not cut it (looking at you, fixed and nerfed queenbreaker). Snipers can one-shot a guardian with a headshot, so easy picks if you are at least decent. I’ve been using dread venture (aggressive frame from normal gambit) and it has been one tapping the bodies of guardians fighting ads (the players are usually weakened by ad’s damage) A sniper is a very worthy pick for invading, but if you aren’t good enough with aiming, use a machine gun. Thunderlord is still a king of invading.
can confirm, Jotunn doesn't 1-shot improved invader shield. Shot someone, it did 283 damage but still only went into about half the undershield, the white bar beneath health
Tip: stick with your team when you don’t need to worry about invaders. I have had so many times where I tell my team to follow up, find myself to be the only person taking care of ads, only to die when everyone comes a few seconds later. Don’t waste time moving from one section to the next.
Luna’s howl/Not forgotten actually anniliates the captains, special or cooldowns aren’t required
That was a really good sniping clip at the start there.
Prometheus Lens is pretty good as well. I plan on trying out Lord of Wolves next time. Unfortunately no Jotunn for me
On first several stages of primevial it's prolly better to invade before they kill the envoy, therefore stalling their time for better damage.
Killing them early on well might just save them from using supers and heavies instead
With the nerf to Queenbreaker, I highly suggest saving your exotic slot for 1K Voices instead of Malfeasance. It's exceptional for invasions, and it can melt from across the map. It's especially good as well for boss DPS with its new buff as well as paired with a Melting Point or Tether.
TITANS should be the ones almost always invading (unless a Hunter has a better loadout). Their supers are better fit for PVP scenarios, and the only time they are useful aside from add clear on the friendly side is using Melting Point on the Primeval.
WARLOCKS should generally stay on the friendly side. Nova Bomb, Chaos Reach, and Well of Radiance are all very good supers to use. Well requires a bit more coordination especially for DPS, but it's just all around good.
HUNTERS are a good middle ground. You can run a PVP style loadout for invading or you can stay on the friendly side. Personally, I like running Tether + ORig for the sweet sweet orbs. Another good loadout is Nighthawk + Golden Gun. This absolutely destroys the Primeval and I highly recommend this in coordinated stacks.
The exotic armor that gives back super on super use is amazing I had a game where I used 15 nova bombs. Tether is really good for the all but invade I’m sure better players than me and you it for invade. Just supers are not only for the boss use them a team with more orbs gend will almost always win
I noticed that even in Gambit Prime I still come across teammates that try to get enough motes for a large blocker even though we only need like 1 or 2 motes to summon the primeval so I started joking with my friend that when there’s enough motes to summon it that the bank should tether everyone and pull them towards the bank to force them to deposit😂
you could use 3 sets of the highest tier armor pieces for each of the classes, use a synth and equip an exotic armor piece to get 8 buffs
On the maps with teleporters use them to collapse in on an invader. Especially during the primeval phase.
The Malfeasance quest is bugged, btw. If you are at the step where you need wins and motes banked, Gambit Prime not regular Gambit count for wins right now. You cannot complete this step.
It must be said , lunas howl/NF and redrix are superb damage dealing primaries if you have them
My three experiences so far on the pc: 1 - half of the team is afk with macro just farming; 2 - everyone in the team is trying to do different actions so they have a chance at prime weapons while not even caring about overall match (common thing i see is two players fighting over who is invading); 3 - nobody knows what to do and just run around killing ads without banking or protecting the bank from blockers. Oh, yeah, opposing team is a stacked same clan team 9 out of 10 times.
Well now that he’s made this public guess I can share my loadout cause I’ve already been doing this and have a about a 35 gambit prime win streak lol. Voidlock, Top Tree, Sentry position, Izanagi’s burden (Against Invaders and some high level enemies, special is your choice, but I’ve been using Luna’s howl, heavy again is your choice but I use hammerhead. Also put on Skull of Dire Ahamkara. Load 1 hit KO and swap to special then wait for invaders lol. EZ Wins. Have a Blessed Day!!
I love this video, its EXACTLY what i spend all day trying to teach random people. then we lose cause they dont listen. thanks datto
I got a tip you didn’t mention
Don’t super the boss if he’s immune
Best way and works 95% of the time for me, best with clanmates. Collect, collect, collect deposit. repeat until Primeval. Kill first four batches of Envoy's and ignore the Wells of Light, move to next Envoy spawn and wait and kill, move on etc. Act accordingly if you get wiped or what not, send an invader if the other team is getting close but just keeping moving and don't waste super or heavy on Prime or Invaders until after the fifth Envoy trio is killed and then everyone hop in Well and melt the Primeval in about 3 seconds with supers and heavy.
Prometheus lens + the second tier reaper set is extremely good
It’s been a year I still suck? Help,!
