Great video! Just snapped my fuel door off. Don’t have a rivet gun to replace the rivets so this is a life saver. Thanks
Instead of nuts and bolts, i would just try sheet metal screws that would avoid having to put a nut in the back.
What kind of SIZE screws /NUTS can I use instead of RIVETS?
@@giovannipimp7769 depends on the size of the hole
Thanks for video, knowing you can drill without issue probably saved me a lot of time. Some info others may find useful: the oem Prius 2007 door is $50. Its tough to get your fingers behind to place the lower bolt or nut, I suggest you attach the bolt to your finger with super glue (so you can poke it through the hole without dropping it from behind, ie, insert the bolt from inside pointing outside with the nut on the outside. Then use some thread locker.)
Hi D J City: Thanks so much for this informative and workable solution that I can use to replace the broken fuel door on my girlfriend's 2002 Toyota Avalon XLS.
Thank you so much, Sr. My son's car 2003 Toyota Camry loose the fuel cover. And with this information now I can do for him without pay extra money.
Great video! Now i can add some custom paint to my fuel door ! Thanks!
Thanks bro that was simple at least u made it simple thank very much have a great day!😉👍🥂
Thank you so much, I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to access the back to attach the gas cover.
Thank you for sharing this video.
Very helpful. Thank you very much!
Nice, thank you for the demonstration
Its pretty the same on every Toyota. My Yaris fuel Door just broke and i wanted to see if there was a way to take it off without drilling the knots…. Glad to see your video, now i know there is no other way.
Will do this once i get a replacement that match my car color.
Tres Bien, Merci
Great video🤙🏽
Thank you. Be safe
used a hammer and screwdriver to remove the door from the same color /year/xle model camry at a junkyard. plan to address this soon.
Thanks man....
Thanks so very much. I thought I had to separate a large part of the inventory in the car, as I thought I had to loosen the bolt from the inside separate.
Did you ever consider cleaning the area prior to installing the new door?
Great thanks for sharing where you from?
Get the fuel door from proper supplier but thank for your effort
Great video. I will be doing this soon.
Could the heat or sparks from the drill ignite the gasoline?
Not from the outside. But if you punch through to the inside you'll have a leak (probably not an explosion). My problem's going to be getting the fuel door off at the junkyard, my drill's not cordless.
Also, keeping the gas-cap in place should keep all/most of gas fumes locked in. Drill speed and rivet material should not generate any sparks, just a thought. @@colinwichman1084
Make it work!
Well almost. Take the time to center the fucking door mo
how big was your drill bit ?
The drill bit is based on the screw, try 1/16
@@MrDjcitywhat Kind and size of screws/nuts u used ?
Who else started laughing when his repair gap got big & kept failing😂. I've never laughed so hard watching a car video. Keep up the good work man we need you to keep us laughing
I started laughing once he started using pry bars and screwdrivers instead of a chisel set 😂😂, overall good tutorial but could have picked/used a "few" better tools/parts. Keep up the good work!
No, the person not gonna be happy because that is not the original one for that year . Why can’t you go to the junkyard and look for the right year of the model even though the color is different?😮😢
Yeah, make sure to get a "Camry" cover not an Avalon 😅
😂
Nope
Ummmmm........LOL So getting the right fuel door for the car wasn't an option?
What a struggle too
Maybe not available at the junker. And around 50$ for a new one assuming they have the correct color.
There’s got to be a reason for a design this dumb
