Wow, what a truck! As someone who grew up in the 80s, that truck seems like the ultimate pickup to me! It ticks all the right boxes: Chevy, check. Squarebody, check. 454 big block, check. crew cab, check. Duelly, check. Custom paint and graphics, check. Plush seating, check. Wonky electronics that almost work half the time, check. Swimming pool in the bed, check. Running on 7 cylinders, check. Sketchy brakes, check. Exhaust leaks loud enough to scare away a whole pack of ravening wolves, check. All joking aside, that's an awesome truck, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you guys do with it!
Happy to see you, your Dad and the doggo ❤! That truck is awesome! A childhood friend of mine's Dad had one of these. Will enjoy seeing this one brought back from the dead.
@@SallysSpeedShop will there be more videos on this truck I'd definitely be interested in seeing more videos of this beautiful rig maybe even a restoration series
Sir, you’re absolutely correct she’s a beaut Clark! I only foresee one issue that being when it’s time to fill up both fuel tanks but, totally worth it!
That is a Killer 84 C30 3 plus 3 back nin the day that was an expensive unit! CCV iin Milwaukee, WI converted a few of these for local Chevy Dealers I remember seeing them around and thought they were cool! Good Find!!
If there's anything squirrelly about you subscribes it may be RUclips. Yours is the third channel in about a week that I realized I'd been unsubscribed from for whatever reason. Glad to see new content! Hope pt2 drops soon.
We had those crew cabs on the Chevy lot when I worked there in 1987. Some, like that one, were customized by conversion companies just like the vans. They were cool freeway cruisers.
I am finally getting ahead on my Cougar project. I have her torn down to a short block with the fuel system and exhaust removed. In it's place will be AFR heads, Edlebrock intake, shorty headers dumping into a H pipe, Fitech FI, electric water pump, new rad with electric fan and HEI distributor for the 302.
I had one just like that. mine was to tow a matching fifth wheel . black with maroon and silver stripes and crushed velour maroon interior and tv and all the woodwork. Loved it but family needed something stable to live in..lol great truck..miss mine bad. old wires were organic based material. in some countries they use soy, or a veg based oil to create them. pain in butt..lol
When u fired it up 1st time , when u didn't use any gas, it lined out to idle , then died, but it ran better than when after when put gas in so, prob sucked up gunk..
@@SallysSpeedShop been looking for awhile for a new channel to watch I watch vgg garage love Derek but seen every vid and watch junk yard digs seen all his vids just ran across you all now I'm playing catch up love it so far thanks guys!!
Love this video! I have a 1990 squarebody 3+3 "dooley". 454, turbo TBI 400 trans. It's not really a conversion but it has a pretty cool stripe job. It is however loaded out.
Glad to see you saving a lot of the cars and trucks, I could only dream of over here in Oz. If you tried to drive any of those home over here, the cops would pull you over within 15 minutes. You'd have to have it checked before registration would be given, if you skipped that, the fact it has no rego also means it has no insurance and there goes your licence and a very large fine which sucks.
I know I wouldn't be pushing all them buttons inside some might be turned on when you get a running and run the battery down but maybe you guys going to go through all the wiring and check it out something I've never been good at is wiring now they got machines and tell you what goes where and what's not what's not pretty cool that's a nice old truck forget gas mileage but other than that 454 oh yeah it's a pretty good shape man how to run like a champ once you get it going if the motor is good.
Great Sunday morning content! Love Dad's tenacity. I'm still not sure he's convinced it isn't gonna make the drive home tonight and tonight's been yesterday for a few days by now. 😆
thats not actually a 3+3, 3+3 meant you could fit three guys in the front bench and three guys in the back bench. Because that truck has the center counsel its not a true 3+3
Those old conversion trucks are hard to find nowadays, my father had a mark 3 F350 dually with a TV and VCR mixed with a CB and custom interior halogen lighting it had a 460 in it but unfortunately he sold it for a service truck (he needed badly) I'd love to find one myself because those conversion trucks is true luxury, not like today's fake luxury.

I'd drive that today anywhere. Vibes like that truck brings never goes out of style
I can't argue with that. It's way too freakin' cool!
Those square body crew cab pickups are very rare nowadays, but the regular cab ones on the other hand I still see out on the roads sometimes.
You're definitely right. Gotta love the crew cabs though!
It’s always good to see a dad and son on a project truck rebuild
That truck does look awesome, the old school vinyls are timeless, but only look good on those old boxy vehicles.

Oh the days of the Choo Choo Customs and Western Haulers! Boss had one in the early 80's to haul race and livestock trailers. Goodtimes!

Haha they were definitely spendy trucks back in their day!
This truck is so rad! I think I need it to tow my Fiero’s! 👍

Wasn't that some kind of 3rd party conversion? Talking about the interior. Considering the Paint and body logo who knows.
Almost definitely. It certainly didn’t come from GM like this. I think they bought a tricked out truck and tricked it out even more with custom paint.
