- This old grain truck was my grandpa's pride and joy. Wasn't sure if this big old truck would fit on my 20ft 10,000lb trailer but sure enough it squeezed on and handled it like a champ. Getting this truck started was definitely a must for the ease of loading and for the fun! If you're considering a haul like this, hopefully this video gives you an idea of what to expect. Brings back memories of growing up on our farm and working on others. I don't remember ever seeing/using a new truck, they were handed down, loaned and borrowed just like tractors, They sat in barns most of the time, used only at harvest time. No forward contracting and storage or dryers; harvest and haul. We used grain bins to store seed for the next year. We unloaded them with a grain shovel; no augers or lifts.

Very cool truck.. A guy in Geneva Florida had one like that and he was asking 1600 dollars for it, and at the time I couldn't get that much together.. I think it had a flathead V8 in it.. Glad you made it home safely and thx for bringing us along for the ride.. take care my friend...
I was born in 1948 , My uncle Bill owned a new Ford F-3 one ton 1952 ,Canada.

49 is the year my pops was born even tho he worked at jaguar he always had ford never owned anything but ford unfortunately he passed away in 2021 then mum in 2022 she was also a big ford person her dream car was a brooklands Capri

You know what they used to say about FORD . F O R D stands for- Found On Road Dead. It use to be a joke . The big 3 all had a standing joke . This one is looking good.
Chevys die to don't nothing last forever
You'll note that only the door on the passenger side of the cab locks. This was evidently the case on base model Ford Trucks at least through 1960. Some say it was California and other states rules that did not allow one to exit or egress from vehicles parked on roadways (parallel parking), which would place the driver in the lane of travel. A good many of these old fords have had their engine rebuilt a time or two during their life time. Often the owner would opt for a longer stroke mercury engine of 256 ci from the 239 ford. At that time merc engines were still easy to come by. Now they are a little harder to find. Fine looking truck with the original wheat racks and a nice set of west coast mirrors. Does it have a hoist? Also got a glimpse of a 2 speed axle, vacuum or electric? Did you bleed the brakes. Quite amazing if you didn't have to. Glad you replaced the hitch instead of repair. Looks like the guy did a really good job. Gives you peace of mind on the way home. I'm in eastern Wa. Where are you located if you don't mind. Great vid.

At least with a Dodge and Chevy you won't be in the shop as often. I mean don't get me wrong, I like Ford as well, but, from what I've seen and experienced the ones in the shop the most is Ford. Still want to get an 86 Ranger though either way. And a 67 Mustang 2+2 Fastback.
@@Samthemule2003 not sure where youre shop is but im in salvage business my old ford rollback has 500k+ miles its hauld alot of broken GM my yard has more gm in it than dodge ford combinex chevy trans are made from tinfoil terrible eletrical problems .
@@fordnut4914 I was just saying what I have seen and experienced that's what it seems like. I currently live in Nevada. Mainly see Dodge, Jeep, and Ford. Where I'm from in southern Indiana, it was mainly Dodge, Jeep, and Chevy.
Just unchain that 49 and put it in neutral. Release the parking brake and take off real quick with that Dodge.

Great video, but when you move around the front of the hood , the image of you jumps and is jittery. I tried the cog wheel and different video qualities, no luck...hmm... wonder why?
Problem of corruption of video in editing, will keep an eye out for it next time!

In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!
