I'm anxious to see your next video. Bamboo plagued me at the previous home i owned and said to myself i never want to see bamboo again...... that is until i started pipe smoking. Now i see the beauty in it and have wondered how pipe makers prepare it and shape it.
I too have bamboo in my backyard, so I was thinking instead of ordering some from PIMO, I could use what's right there. Could you perhaps walk us through how to process your own to make it ready for a pipe? Thanks for two great episodes so far!
If you want a recommendation on a good Irish sipping whiskey, get your hands on some Sexton. You get both a good whiskey and a really cool looking bottle.
Hey brother, just curious what size bits for the various holes do you recommend for the best smoke? I am willing to go with trial and error but the corn cob pipe I got is not the best for me. I get a bit too much smoke and it's hot. Should I go smaller? I'm brand new to the pipe scene and want to build my own. Thanks in advance!
I have about 4 different sizes contingent on shape. In pipemaking there are two profiles. Parabolic and conical. Then there are sizes to those profiles. I have mostly parabolic profiles for my pipes. The airway is commonly 5/32 in diameter. Tobacco chamber and mortise are up to design and proportion. Typically mortise diameter ranges from 3/16, 1/4, 5/16. They can go larger depending on design
@@CatholicPipes thank you! I'll take that into consideration! I'll try to let you know how it goes! I'm going for a Lord of the Rings design(I know, everyone's done it haha). I'm not going to make the stem too long though like Gandalf's. More of a medium hobbit pipe haha. Love your work and I also like working with my hands so thank you for the inspiration and knowledge.
Heck yeah! Got a new fan here!
Heck yeah! New subscriber here. One day I’ll try to make my own. 🪓🪵 keep yer pipes lit and yer wood split!

That is indeed the next video 😁
Flaws and imperfections are what makes it perfect….
