- Hey everyone! Welcome to my channel where I share my passion for quilting. Today I have a super fun and easy project for you: a scrappy quilt made from charm squares. This is a great way to use up all those leftover pieces of fabric that you have lying around. Or, if you prefer, you can also use a coordinated fabric line for this quilt. The pattern is from the Perfect 5 Quilts book by It’s Sew Emma, and it’s one of the simplest ones to follow!
To make this quilt, you need 64 blocks, each made from four half-square triangles. You can either use the traditional method of drawing diagonal lines on your squares, or you can use triangle paper to speed up the process. I love using Triangles on a Roll because they make trimming so easy and accurate. I’ll leave a link in the description box below.
For the sashing, I chose a solid cream fabric to make the colors pop. And for the borders, I have two options that I can’t decide between. One is this gorgeous orange print from Fig Tree’s All Hallow Eve collection. I’m obsessed with this fabric line, it’s so beautiful and festive. The other option is this sweet red floral print, also from Fig Tree. It’s very cute and cheerful, and it matches the scrappy vibe of the quilt. Which one do you like better? Nice video! If I am going to use the corner 'cutaways', I always go the extra step of sewing another 1/4 inch seam right away; it does add time to the project in progress, but is far more accurate than sewing tiny triangles together later on...and I am much more likely, to use the little squares they create, if they are sewn already. Little Flowers for border!
Take those HST and make scrappy pinwheels or square in a square blocks. Add your favorite color sashing and wallah , you have a quilt.

I like the Hallo’s Eve (I think) because it doesn’t compete with the scrappy blocks. I have Accuquilt and can cute my scraps into 5” and 2.5” squares so this would be a perfect project! Thanks for sharing this cute block! 💚
When I see that little cat charm I think I spy quilt! As I have many grandchildren I’ve always thought a simple charm block with a “border” around each charm would be great!😂
