And your diagram that you can get off of your website is very understandable and easy to follow I so can appreciate that. I'm definitely going to make this one it's so cute. Another great video Jamie!! I love this quilt, and I made one with you on the first video. The written size chart will be very helpful for future quilts from this pattern, which I will be making. I always enjoy your videos so much. You are not too slow - I have some videos that the person is talking so fast that I have to lower the speed in order to be able to understand them!! So, don’t let anyone give you a bad time about talking slow!! You do a great job and I just appreciated the fact that you were providing a free quilt tutorial in the first place. I kept my cut off pieces from my quilt (even the small ends off of the bigger strips) and I cut them all to 2 1/2” and I am going to use them in my first border along with some extra yardage. Then I am planning a second border out the extra yardage just to frame it all up. I used a fabric that will go well for my daughter’s family when they go to their cabin in the mountains in Colorado. Thanks again, and happy quilting. I love the jelly roll that you used for this one too.

    I have always sewn, garments but not quilting. Just getting into it. Made a couple of baby quilts rececently (one I started when my granddaughter was born 16 yrs ago but never finished), happy to say it's done. I feel like I'm ready to tackle a full size quilt so I think this pattern will be good for me. Found your instructions great, easy to follow. You are the only person I have found that has mentioned about letting the feed dogs on your machine help you with the fit. I knew this from garment sewing. Glad you shared it. Love the hint with the lint roller. Would love to see your quilt finished....maybe a part 2 to this video? Tx for sharing the pattern....wish me luck! from Ontario, Canada.

    How would you change size to equal 60"x80?

    • @thequiltingcompound
      @thequiltingcompound  15 дней назад

      You would add in row 8 that gets you to 60”. You would need additional coordinating yardage. For the width it’s more complicated. You would need to add about 12” to each row section. You could add two of the 3 set vertical strip units that equal 6.5” to each row and that would get you to 60”. You could also add 6” to each row unit cut. You could also add borders but the would be different sizes for the top and bottom and sides. I hope that helps a little. Thanks for watching and happy sewing 😊

    I am making this but rows 5 & 8 are 1/4 inch too short. I think the 14 1/2 inch measurement should be 14 3/4 inches. I might be able to compensate with 1/8 inch seam allowance connecting those pieces.

    • @thequiltingcompound
      @thequiltingcompound  9 месяцев назад

      Just pin each end and it should work out hopefully. Maybe the seam allowance in vertical strips are wide. I have a hard time keeping a constant 1/4” seam allowance. I hope it works out and you enjoy your quilt. Thanks for watching. 😊

    • @RuthStash
      @RuthStash 9 месяцев назад

      My seam allowance is 1/4 inch. If you add up the pieces in row 5 & 8 it only adds up to 47 1/4 inch. The other rows add up to 47 1/2 inch

    What do you then further? 🤔

      I think you mean what do I do after this part is finished? I showed how to make the quilt top. Next a backing has to be made, then it gets quilted and then it has to get a binding sewn on. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching 😊

      @thequiltingcompound do you have a tutorial of that? I never did it in my life, I even never saw one in my life... and I really want to make one. I am a mediocre sawer...
