"Superman Man of Tomorrow is about a man who enjoys thinking about tomorrow, so in that regard, he's like all of us; daydreaming about getting deadlines done, having some spare time and not worrying about getting an anal fissure from clenching too hard"
|| mystery song of the day ||
Well, you're the reason I'm ridin' around on recapped tyres
An' you're the reason I'm hangin' our clothes outside on wires
An' you're the reason our kids are ugly, little darlin'
Ah, but looks ain't everything
And money ain't everything
But, I love you just the same
Well, you're the reason I changed to beer from soda pop
An' you're the reason I never get to go to the beauty shop
You're the reason our kids are ugly, little darlin'
Oh, but looks ain't everything
And money ain't everything
But, I love you just the same
I guess that we won't ever have
Everything we need
'Cause when we get ahead
It's got another mouth to feed
An' that's the reason that my good looks and my figure's gone
An' that's the reason that I ain't got no hair to comb
An' you're the reason our kids are ugly, little darlin'
Ah but looks ain't everything
And money ain't everything
But, I love you just the same
Conway, why in the devil don't you go and shave
An' put on a clean pair of pants?
But Loretta, look at yourself
I wish you'd take them curlers out of your hair an'
An' go put on a little makeup an'
An' get out of that housecoat before supper
Ha, well, let me tell you somethin', Conway
Considerin' everything that I went through today
I look like a movie star
Uh, yeah, Ruth Cassidy
Thank you
Besides that
All of our kids took after your part of the family, anyway
Oh they did, huh? What about the one's that's bald?
Well, I guess you might say they took after me Кино
I'm really hoping James Gunn's Superman film is like this. This film has a lot of heart in it & while relatively grounded still has stakes. And the overall tone feels Superman-esque.
There's hope for Gunn to reinvent Superman in the eyes of the public as his recent live action films have done a disservice to his legacy. Gunn's filmography as well has been pretty good with all 3 Guardians being hit after hit along with his soft reboot of the Suicide Squad.
Hoping so too. Gunn’s movies revolve around the characters, always have heart and comedy. This would be a killer way to kick off the DCU
I’m actually hoping on it too. I need it to happen
Goodluck to us. James Gunn directs his movies as comedies with action with MTVesque posing.
That's why I liked Lobo as an addition. He's on Clark's level of power and he accepts himself. He's Clark's mirror for the movie, and since his only use for humans this go around is troll them and perform a mating dance for Lois, he's ironically enough a low level threat. Given Superman is just starting his career, he's not ready for the Darksides of the universe.
Funny enough a comicly accurate lobo should be one of his biggest villains
This was one of my favorite superman animated films as is felt very grounded. And most important of all Superman felt like an inspiration more than a god. I hope they continue the tomorrowverse
One of my favorite things about Superman is that he’s not really made to be cool or badass. I love the optimistic nature he has. I like when stories understand superman to the core that he helps people not for a reward but because he just genuinely wants to.
I agree, Superman is the symbol that everyone what's to be. Kind harted, considerate to others. He's the dude that most do not want to be due to silly reasons. Superman is assume cause he gives a damn about everyone
I mentioned awesome instead of assurred...and that's what makes Superman Super, cause he gives a damn about everyone😊
I know the Tommorrowverse is very mixed, and even though I do personally prefer Long Halloween as my favourite Tomorrowverse movie, I still think Man of Tomorrow is a really good start to this universe and tells a quaint, yet great depiction of Clark's origins as Superman, that fleshes out the human notion of xenophobia and explores Clark's fear of what others will villainise him as, unless he comes to terms to what he wants to be.
BTW Lobo is absolute gem in this movie
I think they're going too fast. Man Of Tomorrow is a modest film with very little lore or world building. Then they went bonkers with Justice League and Legion Of Tomorrow and Justice Society. Slow the hell down.
Lobo is always a gem
I love this film. It felt like a breath of fresh air and made me root for Clark to persevere and never change no matter the situation presented. Always have faith in the people no matter the circumstances. He was so grounded and Clark trying to save Parasite felt so heartfelt. We see every characters' perspective in this movie and it was great. I hope we get to see this in the new movie and can't wait for the new animated show.
Dang it's so weird to see how Superman started in comics to where we are now....
One of the greatest superheroes to ever and probably will ever be created.
The man. The myth. The Legend.
My day just got better. Superman & Lois has ended, so I'm glad to get more. I can't wait to see what the new Superman show on Adult Swim will be like
Same
So far, I dig it and the third episode is on tonight
Really hope they continue with the tomorrow-verse ! Because I really love this movie, it serves as a great origin story for Superman but also an engaging story overall with really interesting characters and themes. Like everything it has its flaws, but still, its awesome in my opinion !
There so far is only Sdcc of they do announce something.
They are still doing the tomorrow-verse 4/5 and soon 6 more
Warworld is a part of it
The Supergirl movie is pretty fun. But Supergirl is almost always cute, no matter what she's in lol
I think them continuing the tomorrowverse will be a good direction in which they are doing as WarWorlds is coming out
I’m hoping Superman Legacy can handle the important themes of the character as well as this movie and be a strong foundation to build upon
I really loved this movie, It's honestly what Man of Steel should have been.
Superman man of tomorrow is a great modernization of Superman's origin story, and I enjoyed the film from start to finish. Clark Kent has to deal with a world that fears aliens and is somewhat afraid to reveal his alien origins. Then Lobo, an alien, shows up looking for Clark, warranting humanity's fear of aliens. Clark fights back to protect humanity, and people don't fear him because they don't know he's an alien. Martian Manhunter helps Clark, but people are afraid of his appearance and see him as an alien. This also becomes a main factor for the main antagonist of the movie Parasite, aka Rudy Jones. He starts off as a pretty good dude, but due to an unfortunate accident caused by Lobo, Rudy Jones is turned into a monster that slowly loses his humanity as he absorbs and takes from others. It shows the problem with intolerance, since humanity fears Parasite and think he's an alien. I like how Superman sees that, and uses that to gain the courage to reveal his alien origins while still trying to reach Rudy's humanity. That's Superman, he inspires, and even though Rudy's death is tragic, I am glad that Superman inspired Rudy Jones to be a hero who saved the day. This film definitely does a great job with Superman, and I hope for more movies from the tomorrowverse.
Clark playing w/a Jedi holocron is hilarious.
I honestly find this one to be the best origin film of super man. The fact that we have different off Earth characters acting as a mentor to him and how he learns to overcome his self doubts are not something I've seen typically done.
i really like the art style of this film honestly, like i dont want other films with it or a series. but it just feels very superman if that makes any sense. ALSO love lois in this movie, her calling out lex during the speech was great it caught me off guard.
also i keep forgetting lobo is DC-
If Superman had an origin story similar to this one in live action it might have worked.
This is one of the best Superman movies ever, simply bc it showed us Clark naked 🥰
I still miss Jerry O'Connell's Superman. Wish he got to do another Superman focused film.
I always wondered where they got that “ Man of Tomorrow” moniker. Now I understand.
The way Martian Manhunter "dies" made me feel bad...
I feel like this movie makes Superman feel human like some but I think this film is underrated I feel like not a lot of people
wow, I guess the superman really was a man tomorrow all along !!!
The art Style of the Tommorrowverse is so pleasant to see in My POV
I never thought about that pattern of the "New 52 to Rebirth" transition - now that I think about it it really makes sense and that's a really good catch
I did quite enjoy this film, the tomorrowverse since has been hit or miss for me but hoping we get another Superman film soon
I really liked this film. Had character and heart.
This next to Superman vs the elite is my 2nd favorite Superman movie. Superman man of tomorrow is relevant to today.
I love this movie so much
Wow I just watched this last night, great timing!
Your writing is improving a lot in these videos, do more remakes if you feel the need to. Can't wait to see more from you
This was very much my favorite Superman movie. It's a simple but effective story that conveys the heart of what makes Superman truly the Superior Man. Because he doesn't let his powers drive his actions. He embraces his humanity and connections to the world around him. He is the ultimate immigrant, representing what any foreigner in a strange land can accomplish when treated as one of the people.
I normally don't relate that well to Superman, but this movie highlights what about him endears him to me. I was able to blend in by masking what I am. Being autistic, I have the privilege of being able to disguise my disability in plain sight, but I spent my childhood and early adulthood feeling resentful that I had to mask my nature. Being part-Asian but also being blond with green eyes, I easily pass for being only white. But when my differences were noticed or pointed out, it was all people could see in me: an other; an outsider and a stranger. This is the kind of privilege that few people outside of my wife and a couple of close friends have ever discussed with me. But it is a very real kind of loneliness. And Superman has been shown to struggle with it in many different stories over the years. And I feel that it highlights the very real hypocrisy in people who will look for only the familiar and will shove someone's head to the ground when they point out that they're different.
When I was a kid, many of my teachers would tell me, "You're more normal than you think you are." But they completely ignored the fact that I'm not a normal human. I'm autistic, I'm a kinesthetic synesthete, and I wanted people to accept those things about me rather than just trying to pretend that I wasn't either of those things. When they said normal, they meant white. But I'm not only white. I've got blond hair and green irises, sure but I also have tawny skin and slanted eyes. I'm not their "normal."
This movie is fantastic!!!!! This whole
Animated universe has been good, Cept they just keep jumping around in time.
That was beautiful. Brought me to tears, and I'm not quite sure why.
This is the movie adaptation of Max Landi's Superman: American Alien! One of the best modern Superman comics.
Another golden video
Excellent video. I love this film you really the points on it. I'm looking forward to Gunn's Superman Legacy and see how that Will do. I do watch this film every year around my birthday, its one of my favorites
Man of Tomorrow feels like a mix between "Superman: American Alien" and "Superman Smashes The Klan". It takes the characters and intro scene from American Alien, but takes the theme of accepting yourself like SSTK.
Happy 4th to ya My dude
I really enjoyed the first essay on The Other, but this is a nice revisit and Re-contextualization.
Cuddos.
it is an interesting take. hopefully this universe can really bring it.
I think Rudy’s progression into a monster could’ve had more substance: he tries to react more to people but they see him as a monster and he pleads with them but they run scared or attack him. He then starts to act more like monster because of the constant thirst for energy. They should’ve had more scenes like that.
With that said, this is the best movie that the Tomorrowverse has to offer. Because after the Long Halloween, it’s been all downhill from here.
🔥🔥🔥
The only real complaint I have in regards to the Tomorrowverse movies is that I’m not the biggest fan of the animation style they are using in this universe in comparison to the animation style of the DCAMU that came before it. It’s more of a small nitpick for me because I can get over it and still enjoy the movies, but I definitely prefer the style that had with the DCAMU.
I love the movie. Simple as that to me it's pretty much all good. I also like how the animation looks like Archer but smooth.
Tomorrowverse Lois and Selina look so similar, I just noticed
They got me sweating
Nice
Heart ❤️ touching, movie characters were awesome and powerful even parasite is stronger than all of them
Dammit IP, stop being so awesome! You're making the rest of us look bad!
9:02 like always I’m having the feels cuz these vids are amazing, then I see the subtitle “Parasite in my pants.” Who’s man’s is this?
I enjoy this movie
Superman-shmooperman
I see the Main Man, I click.
Time for quick poetry
“Lobo is a hobo, while munching chicken adobo.”
Hello , I've been a fan of yours for quite some time and was wondering how do you analyze these movies , most of the time some of the points you mention just fly over my head .
When should we expect a season 3 review of Superman and Lois?
superman
Superman man of tomorrow > My adventures with Superman
Man of Tomorrow Superman is heavily based on the American Alien Superman. Read it, it's good.
I used to like this movie but I think it was only because it's the only Superman-centric movie that felt like a proper Superman movie in a while. It's really run-of-the-mill otherwise.
A mid Superman story is better than Injustice.
Could you do a video on dororo 2019
How many characters has Clancy Brown played in the DC universe?
I think Gunn's movie will have Lobo.
I was enjoying the video until I saw that a segment was labeled as Parasite In My Pants.
Mr. Pretentious can you make a video on Mr.Robot, please
💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
If Batman is shot with a Kryptonite bullets I thought he should die??
This and Rebirth in the comics is the reason why Superman Legacy will succeed. Classic Superman is the way to go.
I come from the land of ice and snow
Wait year one is connected to this universe and great vid as allways..so he change the title yet?😂
11:29 what is the song you use in your outros? I love it
10:45 doesn't that make injustice superman all the more tragic
This is eerily similar to Max Landis's American Alien......
Talk about super,an and lois season 3
What is the name of the song for the outro that starts at 11:07?
I thought this Superman movie was good but not the best
I noticed this video had a bit more snark and humor in it.
It amaze how DC can't get movies right.
Anyone know the comic still at 5:20?
Heart is so, so important to stories like this.
Whats the song at the end?
If Superman: Legacy can be 85% as good at its story as this kovie was, I'd be ok with that as long as they nailed Clark's character.
It bothers me too much that Lobo got fragged so easy. Not fair to the main man.
WHAT SONG IS THIS
This is a re-upload?
Hi
Yooo
What's the outro song?
12:24
Bottom of list
@@danielseelye6005 cheers, completely missed that
And yet right-wing comic bros will still argue that Superman is a traditionalist who just beats up bad guys and if Gunn makes him kind and huggable, he is "ignoring the character".
Superman comics and the recent Superman movies the last 10 years or more have been total trash garbage so you can't really blame people for expecting exactly what has been shown to them for a decade.
Thank the 60’s-80’s for that 😒
@@Elfenlied8675309you don’t read any Superman comics if you actually believe that 😂
Didn’t you already do this?
He's explains it at the end here: 11:40
I'm starting to like this stupid song lol, I've heard it too many times now
This movie's theme is xenophobia is not one-sided, like "xenophobia bad". I like it.
Lobo demonstrates that, sometimes, an alien really is here to cause havoc. Parasite demonstrates that the unknown, sometimes, really is dangerous, or that an ugly monster is actually going to eat you.
It shows how complicated our relation with the other is. We cannot blindly hate the other, but we also cannot blindly accept it.
Superman does not just look like us, he acts like us and believes in the same things that we believe in. That's one of the reasons he's humanity's champion - he IS human in every way that matters. He's been integrated into human society.
Lobo, on the other hand, likes being the last of his kind, likes being unique and apart from everyone. He's murdered his entire civilization to achieve this.
I like the movie but it has pacing problems IMO and, like the video said, the parasite character is on a weird spot.
Ngl i feel like this movie had nothing worth to watch tbh
Lois is looking so good in that universe >.> Also yea i love the grounded Superman stories so much. Superman was never about his powers but about humanity
Wait so he's called superman in this cuz he's a super human but not cuz of his powers but...isn't he super BECAUSE of his powers?
Also cool that guy that i don't know came to your college he sounds very wise and smart
He's called Superman because they see him as a "super" "man."
They see him, as a human with powers, rather than an alien.
Rarely say this but i really hated this movie. And i really liked all movies and tv shows even the Kirk Alyn serials. This felt the like the least superman ive seen in a superman movie.
I keep finding man of tomorrow half baked in terms of symbolism on discrimination and xenophobia also feels like it’s 30 minutes too short. Like how Rudy dies doesn’t feel as much as it should when watching it just make him look like he has lost himself into his hunger for energy than a self sacrifice to saving the city & in the end of the movie Clark sounds grouchy than in the beginning when he’s talking to both lobo and johnn.
Like I like a couple of the movies but the rest of the tomorrowverse feels rushed and half baked that doesn’t feel like it’s naturally formed just skips every other step like the league forming and other characters meetings for the first time.
Also it’s odd how mostly everyone already thinks that Gunn’s Superman is already great without even seeing a teaser with everyone thinks that it’d be more like the status of public perspective on the character like how the Reeves version often is viewed while being op without having much social issues while being a symbol of hope without doing more to show it besides helping a kid with their cat but let them get hit by their mom, and cheer in hearing that it’s already full of unnamed superheroes (something that people complain about bvs when it’s just a cameo and foreshadowing the formation of the justice league) and still call the dcamu and Snyder version’s as edgy when it doesn’t do much to say that it’s edgy while it’s normally more apparent in the world and how it reacts, it’s not even close to anything that is edgy like anything that of Manchester black or lobo are.
Since when is lobo edgy 😂😂😂 stay in your place snyder fangay and true DC fans are the ones who actually read the comics and actually know the character stay in your place snyder ass fly
Lois is a great example of a good female character. Shes heroic and incorruptible but also not invincible or infallible
Although I felt Parasite's death was kind of cheap and underwhelming, I did really like the film. Some of the decisions about characters in the Tomorrowverse have been a little disappointing (mainly Parallax, tbh) but to give credit I find the directness of its character presentation to be refreshing. The characters have flaws but aren't so overly complicated that we need a deep explanation. Hopefully Warworld is just as good.
Truth, justice and the AMERICAN way.
That MURICAN way 🛻 🎉
