Re Lorus - it should be noted that Seiko do not repair these watches. They will only issue a discount voucher for a replacement, but even then it's only valid in their exclusive boutique with base price at RRP.
Boderry is also a good brand to consider. The titanium Voyager with the nato strap comes just under the 100$ mark. I currently own one and love it
I did have that as a contender but I'm not a fan of the 4 o'clock crown. They did just release the Landmaster though, and that absolutely would have been on the list.

I think I'm right in saying they've gone as far as they can with every material they use to make it 'good' in some way. I think those steel models you're describing might be made out of metal from melted down illegal weapons?

The casioak has to have the positive display, that tiny negative display is near impossible to read

Nice choices, yet most are too small for me..
I recently bought the Pagani Speedy and I think I was sent the latest version.. which, unfortunately, does not have the iconic dots at 12 o'clock. This was despite the "dot" version being shown on the Aliexpress listing that I ordered from. I would not have bought it had I known this was the case.
Where did you buy it from? I'm fairly sure there are actually companies that homage the homage if that makes sense. There's also countless unreliable listings.

I just checked and unfortunately, T(J) Maxx doesn't have much for men's watches on the website for the US stores. Mostly overpriced pieces from fashion brands. Their competitor, Nordstrom Rack does list a number of Citizens and Tissots on their site, including some mechanical, but none under 100.
If we are talking Invitca the two best looking models imo are the Royal Marine and the 1954 Automatic both of them under a $100
