While I genuinely appreciate the $1000 cap on your videos, would it be possible to have a video detailing your opinions (not necessarily recommendations) on watches *slightly* above said bracket? Nothing too 'out-there' but possibly the $1000-$3000-ish level? I appreciate that you do not want to alienate your viewers but I do think we would like to hear your take on certain brands and particular models...

Red dials look OK but I think a orange dial you can't beat,always enjoy your streams.

You missed the best one of them all. The Seiko Sarx089. These go for about $700 and are a significant step up in quality from the Negroni. The bracelet is fantastic which is unusual for Seiko.

The bulova jet star in red is a beautiful watch, plus you get the precisionist quartz movement.

I'm suprised how much I like the Farer. It's the first one by them I actually like. The Certina is a good looking watch too.

That Cosmic 2000 is absolutely gorgeous. Didn't know about the red dial version. In terms of what is missing, I think the deep red Orient diver (never sure if it's the Mako or the Kamasu) is something that a lot of people would include on a list like this.

Excellent video! One to add to the list is easily the ARAGON DF 40 in white face. Got mine for $185, but alas is now (not surprisingly) Sold Out. Great reviews ~ just subscribed.

I like this one, and also the GM-S2100MF-1A, which has a "Midnight Fog" theme, but is a bit easier to read than the green one. The band is dark grey and translucent. I'm also wearing the GMA-S2100WS-7A at times, in informal settings like on the beach, the shroud and strap are white resin, but the dial is an intense orange/copper colour. It's slightly larger than the GM-S2100 series. The hands contrast well with the dial.

You can find some of the older Victorinox Alliance models online for under $200. It's an amazing value right now

Part of the pleasure of owning a watch with an automatic movement, unlike a quartz, is getting to interact with it on a regular basis by re-setting the time at least weekly. I also feel much more connected to it knowing that it is my own body movement that powers it. There is the added bonus of not having environmentally questionable batteries to dispose of.

Congrats on the two milestones. Also, have to say that you made an excellent point that I resonate with, but never really crystalized before. Fascination for a mechanical movement over a quartz comes, at least in part, from the ability to intuitively understand the workings of the former, but only conceptually for the latter.

Great vid. Quick suggestion: when casting your net this wide, maybe title/frame the context as "ten great thick watches under 1k", or something like that. I love these videos as vehicles for highlighting great watches that not everyone would have come across, but you're doing that ay the expense of obvious picks that I know you personally would make (no CW on the list from your God tier? 😉).

I had the larger green version of this watch for a while but it had a negative digital display that was mostly unreadable for my eyes. Nice to get a positive display on this model.
