Omg this is what I want! I've been on regular dates and found them so boring because people just want to make out (I'm ace and greyro so maybe that's why I'm opposed). I want to do fun things like y'all with a queer platonic partner!
YES SAME!! i just got out of my first "romantic relationship" and i can honestly say i'm not fond of kissing. i'm also a sex-repulsed ace, which made me feel like i could never be with a partner and not feel obligated to do all of that romantic/sexual coded stuff, i.e., kissing, making out, etc. i've always said, for the LONGEST TIME, literally ever since i was like 15 (i'm 22 now) that i really just wanted a best friend who was my best friend. someone to hug, hang out with, be their number one supporter, kiss on the forehead, be committed to and snuggle close. but i was always so stressed out because i thought that could never exist outside of a romantic context. i swore off of dating for a while after this breakup, but honestly, i just hate dating in general and might never do it again. a committed qpr is more my speed.
I love this. Until discovering I'm aromantic and learning about QPR, I saw stuff like this as a regular date. I'm 23 but learning all this about aromanticism is amazing in the same way as when we're teenagers learning about ourselves.

This gives me a lot to think about. I'm pretty sure I'm aroace and I've done similar things with people (minus the physical closeness)
What I tend to say is that I'm on the aroace spectrum when I hang out with people now. In the past I've accidentally lead people on. (Actually, it's more like they felt like I had lead them on)
But I don't like to confuse people so I want to be clear even though it might sound weird to them

I just found your account today but I'm glad I did!!! Very happy to see ur autistic as well yayy- but I found this video bc I was searching for QPR content, bc my best friend and I are already kinda doing this, we keep joking abt how our hang out ideas are date ideas, and how we each view each other as "on a different level" than other friends, and joke abt how ppl think we're dating, only thing is she has no idea what a QPR is and I think it would make her uncomfortable if I brought it up. She wasn't an ally when I came out to her as queer, but she has gone through such an amazing journey and is now an amazing person that is so excited to learn new things, and is even better at not assuming pronouns than I am 😅 But I don't know if she would understand a QPR, but I would love to tell her abt it bc I think it's something we both want but she's not queer and I think would be scared of it- I honestly have no idea 😭just rambling at this point. Edit: this is so long sorry i don't expect anyone to read this. But basically what I'm trying to say is she wouldn't label us that way, but the fact that I would makes me feel like I'm manipulating her if I view us that way but she doesn't
