I recently added brass carriers on my Gen 8 along with relocating the steering servo. I’ve noticed a big difference but, I’m nowhere near done. I’m still gonna add TREAL Portals, TREAL rims & other brass to the axles. My Gen 8 Axe II is gonna be a little different. I’m only adding diff covers, portals & the brass Pattie’s on the wheels (sorry, I forget the name) as far as climbing, my Axial Wraith out of the box is pretty dependable but adding new tires, rims & front bumper, Wow!! So much better. I was out with a buddy of mine & his Class 1 Comp Crawler & he was telling me all the upgrades he added & $$$. I just quietly climbed next to him (often outperforming his truck & overtaking him) after he ran down the list of upgrades I simply said “Mine is bone stock except for rims & tires I bought used at an event & a brass front bumper I added to the front 💁🏻‍♂️ I think I struck a nerve 😬. Anywho thanks for the videos & keep ‘em comin

I hear ya about tolerances! Had to return Injora Black brass portals/C-Arms. I ended up with Treal. Great fitment with SSD & Samix brass as well that I have used. I really like to have some weight for realism. Too light and they just look like toys flopping around.

Treal makes some great stuff! I think you're spot on, though-the added realism from the weight is often undervalued in my opinion, or at least that isn't something I hear people talking about often. Thanks for the input!

Definitely had to up grade my motor. I was blowing one for every two batteries. My servo was hanging in there but wasn't very fast. Kinda like a real ford with big tires.

I know the feelin!! It’s definitely a balancing act of trying to figure out what’s enough weight without putting so much on that the rig starts to tear itself apart 😅😂 but I appreciate the comment, cheers man! 🤘🏼

No comment on whats been dropped in Chunk cost wise but you've seen him lol. Performance shelf queen!!! Good video bud. I'm all bout that brass. I will say the ecto does good with or without but with it's a beast along with the Rock pirates goodies lol.

Hahaha dude I feel that! But thank you very much! I love the way the TRX4 performs with all the brass, but my eyes have definitely been opened in the past few weeks to lightweight rigs and how well they do!

Nice video man. Just completely went aluminum and brass axles on my Gen8 myself. Put in hardened steel gears in the Trans and diff with a HW 1080 and Holmes hobbies 21t 550 behind it. Made a world of difference but may have to rethink motor.....that much weight didn't help the drag brake out at all.

Thank you so much! And that sounds like a sweet setup! I definitely think you might be getting into the territory of a Puller Pro from Holmes or something similar to keep up with the weight. I've since switched to a Roc412 and it's been everything I felt I need for drag brake and slow-speed performance!

Move your front shocks out to one of the mounting points on c hubs.helps with side hilling and you can lower the cg

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll have to try that out!! 🤘🏼

They also make aluminium portal carriers for the rear with shock adjustment as well.

Adding wheel weights is way way cheaper it drops the lcg really low since the wheels are the lowest part of the truck and you can add it to the front tires for more front weight distribution, also you can adjust the weight to your own preference

This is a great point! Wheel weight isn't something I even thought about until after going with this much brass, but keeping that in mind is super important! Now that I've seen what changing out to some metal beadlocks can do vs all of this brass, I'd say do some metal beadlocks instead of brass (at least to start) for sure.

I've actually heard this from a few people! I personally haven't gone that route yet, but I wouldn't be apposed considering the prices of some of these name brand parts 😅

Hahahaha oh man, I feel your pain 😂 I’m staring at an NSDRC RS800 v2 that I’m about to put into the pig-we’ll see if it makes much of a difference considering she’s mainly a trail truck. Thanks for checkin in, though!! 🤘🏼
