    Hey Josh
    U should drill out as many holes in the tire foam as possible and fill them with tungsten pine wood derby weights
    That should break an axle or 2

    I run my TRX6 with a factory trans with a Holmes 4100KV monster of a motor and a MambaX. It will drag the rear bumper popping wheelies on pavement, does 26mph on 3S, and flies through the air like an eagle! And the stock trans holds up great! The TRX is a bulletproof platform. But back to more weight! LOL

    I understand the point of exaggerating, but in my experience at least the old trx-4 defender can benefit a lot from some weight down in the axles. Not full nuts like this, but portal covers and c-hubs helped me a lot to neutralize the tendency of lifting the front of the rig. One must is harder foams, otherwise everything is a waste....

    • @stratobungle
      @stratobungle 3 года назад

      ^^^Agreed... I'm pretty sure that he realizes that in moderation (like ALL things) brass can be beneficial, especially in certain situations or for certain vehicles. I have a Defender, and I'm probably going to go with the LockedUpRC TRX-4 Black Steel Portal Package that has Black Steel Portal Covers, Black Steel Portal Knuckles, Black Steel C-Hubs and Brass Pipe Bushings. I'd rather use steel, and it is going to add a fair amount up front and down very low. 245g total weight, around $120 for everything

    • @ColoradoStreaming
      @ColoradoStreaming 3 года назад +1

      I agree, I put 98g brass portal axle covers in the front and 40g in the rear of my TRX4 Sport and it made a night and day difference. Its all about balance and moderation.

    My TRX-6 front axle is all brassed out. I wanted to keep the stock fender wells too. Luckily, I found an aluminum panhard mount. I just dremeled out the stock plastic panhard mount to allow the aluminum one to fit. So now I still have my scale-looking wells but a rigid aluminum panhard mount.

    Needs an big old nimh battery and it's on the outside but maybe a solid tube exo-cage.
    My first crawler was a home made TLT-1 based 1/8 new bright JK with 2.2 rock crushers. I made the chassis out of that heavy 1/2" square tube from home depot and cut it down the center like c-channel. I loved how the tires would actually bark when they spun on the rocks. I think it looked the most realistic out of all my trucks performing just because of how heavy it was

    You could talk to a local jewelry casting shop to talk about casting your 3d printed parts in bronze or brass. If you really want to go to the moon, start molding things like the stock sliders, inner fenders etc... Think parts that are fairly symmetrical, so you can get multiple parts cast from one mold.
    After that, you should think about tungsten. Should be easier and cheaper to get than depleted uranium. 🤪

    an old school way from the AX-10 days for adding weight was stick on lead weights on the center wheel ring inside the tire. We used to wrap electrical tape around them after that to ensure they stayed in place. You could replace the elec tape with 3M mastic tape which is a thicker rubbery tape.

    Buy some sticky wheel weights and remove the tires. Line the rims in the middle with the wheel weights equally and put the tires back over the rims with beadlocks on. For about $14 bucks for 2 set's for all 4 rim's. All my RC crawlers have aluminum rims with wheel weights. My trx4 weighs 14.0 pounds after my brass upgrade but I'm also 4s with a 130a brushless esc. I use that same transmission and I can go over 40mph so I'd say it's pretty tough lol

    Adding all the brass is only part of the equation. If you want to truly embrace the lifestyle you need the lift kit for sure to emphasize all your new weight. And whatever the widest most scrub inducing widening kit there is. Roof rack filled with alloy bits off Amazon would be right at home on there also. I would 3d print a kitchen sink and strap it on the rack also.

    I figured out how to add weight on the cheap using the space under the rear body post between shock towers there’s two holes right behind battery holder I made a tray i just screwed into those holes and put two old 9 volt batteries I taped together and strapped into tray so the weight is slightly over behind rear axle just enough that it doesn’t want to wheelie when it’s climbing a steep hill and too front I stuck Velcro on steering servo and put an old servo on it just enough so it doesn’t interfere with steering or body and I noticed big difference in it’s ability to climb why spend money on cool parts when u can use stuff u find around house
