I'm a first time player and picked the Demolitionist class simply for the name. Simply put, I'm too stupid for a game like this, so I don't know jack about stats, buffs, constellations and such. Just as you say, it's a massive DPS class and looks mighty fancy setting whole rooms ablaze. I'm going all ranged and have an impressive opening volley with all the fancy booms and flames. Whatever left standing is dealt with by dual pistols and the fire shotty thingie. I'm hella squishy though, but luckily I've paired up with a mighty Smorc going up close and personal while I stand like a coward in the corner lobbing projectiles and foul words over the mobs.
Good video. Gave me some new pointers.
    Cheers!

First of all - great introduction of the demolitionist to new players.
One thing that was said might make people understand something incorrectly:
The resistance reduction part of black water cocktail “overlapping” on utility with thermite mines -
That doesn’t happen since the flat reduction from cocktail stacks with the -% reduction from thermite mines, and you generally want as many stacking sources of resistance shredding on a build.
So you can take them both.

I assume in the video the confusion was with another part -
If the build uses “Rowan’s crown” - that resistance reduction does not stack with the blackwater cocktail one.
Although devotions can be more important than a few skill points sometimes, if you really need Rowan’s for some reason, it would explain it.
But otherwise - you can stack both thermite and cocktail res shredding. No problem there.

I have been playing solo Demolitionist up to LVL 50, I avoided taking Quickjacks because I want my Stunjacks to have that unique stopping power so I can easier keep enemies within my other active skills' AoEffect radius. I play a less auto-attacker, more crowd-controller kind of character. I took the Tortoise constellation and put it on Vindictive Flame for a defense buffer, now I die way less often!

Do you think there is any reason to get grenado and blackwater cocktail or should I focus one one. So hard to just choose one even though that seems more logical. I’m going for a tanky fire strike focused commando.

I think both are good. Since Cocktail is fire damage, and utility effects like OA and damage reduction, you can rely on Grenado to come in for the big burst with Fire and Physical. Depending on how you really want to play Commando, I think that the bomb centric demolitionist is a lot of fun.

why you dont do demolitionist with ranged 2h weapon?

I have builds with the 2H but the build in this series works a lot around blast shield so I like the shield and 1h melee better. :)
