    Currency system at this point is now classic Choy meme. As great as it would be, sadly it is like beating a dead horse over and over again. Unfortunately, I don't think BHVR even considers doing that.

    I hate the idea of a currency build system

  • @Warcrafter4
    @Warcrafter4 2 месяца назад

    One thing they could do is make your currency system a side mode to test how well it works.
    Why rush it into the base game when it could be a side mode for testing? As a lot of testing will be required to get all the values right and possible additional costs like a stacking cost increase for stacking slowdown perks.
    (Edit sorry if this idea was already in your cost system)Like Ruin by itself is fine as a lone slowdown perk but stacking it with other slowdown perks causes a flat and/or % cost increase. However stacking Ruin with other Hexes have no such downside. So running Ruin/Undying would cost less points then running Ruin/Surge, even if both Undying and Surge cost the same points.

    I personally feel like the class system they added into 2v8 was amazing , i was able to bring in friends who never played and it was may more simple to explain than the perk system, i feel like if we want to have a balanced game with less sweat both for killers and survivors then 1v4 with class system would be a great approach

  • @vancedburn3796
    @vancedburn3796 2 месяца назад +13

    2v8 and chaos shuffle were good for me because the perks were less opressive. No super gen defense or super second chance squads. People are not that good in the game so getting cheesed got super rare. 2v8 made killers being able to play with friends so learning nurse without commiting a crime was possible.
    Once i made a dbd tournament and perks had "points" cost to equip so i could balance the points like you said. Everything was good and super tight to watch

    I feel like they should add an arcade mode of sorts, rotating game modes every week so it stays sorta fresh and the queue times for the normal mode don’t get messed up

  • @Icole-cv4px
    @Icole-cv4px 2 месяца назад

    While it sounds good on paper, in practice it would be a nightmare to balance.
    To make it work they have to:
    - Consider the strength of each killer, and give them the amount of points they need/deserve.
    - Concider that perks may work on certain killers better than others. They would have to increase the prices of some perks because of that one killer or balance a price of EACH perk on EACH killer.
    For example:
    I'm all ears - busted on the Nurse, okay on any other killer.
    Unforseen - a really good perk on the most of killers, but isn't very good on loud characters like The Knight for example, or Chucky with a whole laughing thing while undetectable.
    BBQ and Chilli - really good on high mobility killers, isn't that great on others.
    And I'm not even talking about the fact that this system would simply kill all the fun in making builds, because
    "These two perks are too strong, play with something else!"
    "Nuh uh! Rapid Brutality is too good on The Singularity! Play with three perks because of it!"

  • @Khastrx
    @Khastrx 2 месяца назад

    In 2v8 perks are not an issue, yet Nurse is still extremely oppressive in the right hands because of her power. So let's say in the normal mode she would be limited with perk choice, she'd still have potential to be top tier regardless. The power needs adjustment because as a killer she literally breaks the game and has done for like what, 7ish years now.
    Currently 2v8 is great because it adds a degree of simplicity for players of all levels, you just pick your character and/or class and you're good to go. Now Chaos Shuffle is a bit more complicated as it requires a degree of prior knowledge of perks and what works with what to maximise their potential, (not everyone has time to read their description in the match). Of course both modes have room to improve, but something so simple of going back to basics where a meta doesn't dictate everything can make a big difference in fun for sure.
    I really don't see a currency system changing much as experienced players will just try to find the best possible builds with it and we'd be back to square one. For casual players or newer ones, having to strategise that much could be off putting, some just want to play the game and have fun you know.

    My Killer Mentality for SBMM Mode: "If the survivors aren't going to hold back on their builds or tactics... Why should I?"
    Honestly, it's all part of the game, and what the devs gave us, so there's no reason to hold back on tactics or builds. Anyone who does is either experimenting, trying to throw the other side off, or ignorant. Whereas anyone who goes all out is where the real challenge of the game presents itself. It's not fair, but it's also unrestrained and vicious, and if you can't bring yourself to being just as dirty as the other side, then you're playing the wrong game. Like it or not, DbD is a Competitive game! Deciding to play casual or experimental is welcome and, more often than not, fun, but it won't get you anywhere in the grand scheme of things. At least not fast.
    Killers who complain about survivors tactics/perks just need to learn to be more ruthless with their own builds and tactics. Survivors who complain about Killers builds and Tactics, simply need to learn to accept them and adjust their own. Complaining about what the Devs give each side is a waste of time if you don't consider your own sides contributions to the fray.
    DBD is a school of hard knocks: If you don't learn to adapt, you're gonna suffer, and there's nothing you can do about it, until you do!

  • @4LoreReasons
    @4LoreReasons 2 месяца назад

    In my opinion DBD was never meant to be treated like a competitive game but instead as a fun chaotic party game.
    sense the introduction of SBMM it has zapped out almost all of the fun of the game, stuff being being nerfed out of a reaction, people are quick to get the devs to nerf a perk even though there is a perk that counters that perk but refuse to bring it because it ruins their meta builds.
    Killers prioritizing kills over hooks, Survivors genrushing.
    It all got bland from both sides.
    Chaos Shuffle came out and took all of our meta builds and threw them in the trash and had us play the game with perks we never thought we would use or perks we never would have never use because we got to try a character we didn't own's perks.
    We didn't know what we were going to get, but it was guaranteed we weren't going to get the same 4 perks every game.
    2v8 had no perks but a class system, more people, more gens, 2 Killers, it was something that people wanted for years.
    and guess what... it was fun and chaotic... something that dbd was in the past... and could be if the devs want it to be.

    Another complication point on this currency system is that some perks are only strong/bad on specific killers. Like lethal pursuer on nurse/blight or jolt on m2 killers. So perks should cost different amounts of points depending on wich killer you are putting them on

    Counterargument: Lights Out should've been in a similar boat as 2v8 and Chaos Shuffle, but it wasn't *as well* received (although people did like it a bit as a novelty). Nobody had any perks in Lights Out, so your opponents definitely weren't bringing overpowered stuff. Even so, it just wasn't as popular.
    I think what makes 2v8 and Chaos Shuffle well-liked is that they're more chaotic!

    but if i can equip 5-6 mid/weak perks i will.

    I would like to see a mode where the survivors have no offerings, the killer can select the map and there are no add-ons or items. For perks, players are locked to the character's teachable perks, plus a static new perk. For killers, a perk that decreases repair speeds by 60%, decreasing by 1% every second that procs at the start of the match. For survivors, a perk that allows them to pick themselves up and unhook themselves after being on the hook for 60 seconds, regardless of stage. I have a theory that these are part of the issue with the game. And of course, no SBMM but playtime based matchmaking (the more you played the game, the role and the killer, the higher the rating). This is just a theory based on the success of 2v8 and Chaos Shuffle.

Times where there's way too many dead zones and way too connecting loops. 8 years and most of this hasn't been addressed

  • @viardzen
    @viardzen 2 месяца назад

    I think the problem with balance at this point is that most everything that feels unfun or oppressive usually comes from a combination of perks, and not an individual one (maybe distortion but ykn)... nobody really complains about slowdowns until you start stacking them, or like weave/franklins and enduring/spirit fury all being perks clearly meant to combo with each other, their parts are a lot less annoying to deal with than the whole. This and the fact that a lot of perks have alternatives with functionally similar effects... stacking healing on survivor or even just trying to account for how many different aura reveal perks and addons you may have to consider has made the ability to predict and play around each other's perks way muddier, which I think was a huge part of the skill and fun of the game.

    I just don't trust behavior anymore. They made 2 of my 5 P100s just weaker because of complaining. They don't care how people feel and I feel they don't care about balancing they care more about how people feel. For example trickster was never strong or the weakest but they reworked him to make him feel more fun to play against and doing so made him weaker. The same thing with knight blight. The only good rework they have done is billy.

And about community you are 100% percent right... this game has one of the worst communities I have ever seen, but its the nature of humans you know? You can't really expect everyone to chill when they are facing another human in real time. And about E sport I have to say there's many games with ranking system which are not in E sports so being or not being In E sports doesn't mean the game is not competitive. It's a onlind pvp game with a skill base matchmaking after all.( I don't say it's working perfectly I'm just saying it exists)
