Hey I just want to say thank you for doing this. I honestly was just going to give up on my account initially, because I am a small streamer and don't have a lot of power or voice. But now that this is blowing up more I feel like I might have a chance of getting my account back, and again I really do appreciate this.
Not sure if it will make a difference but I submitted a ticket requesting a ban appeal and linked this video. Hopefully Abnormal will get their account back and the lackluster performance on BHVR's part will cease if enough of us start yappin. F***ing ridiculous....
stubbornly does not belong in this video. In the first case it came out it was an impersonator after behavior investigated. We don't know if stubbornly decided to try something else to boost her gameplay after trying reshaders, and being familiar with her content I honestly wouldn't put it past her. I know about the people using her name and blatantly using hacks but that doesn't mean her account wasn't using something besides reshaders as well?
Yup. All time, effort and MONEY you've put into your account can just be gone in an instant. For good. Unless you have some kind of prominent social media presence. BHVR is a fucking joke of a company.
This is 99% BHVR's fault. Their anti cheat isn't good enough to detect most cheats and manually banning people without even looking into it is ridiculous.
@@topsgaming4266 I'm amazed they don't have a system in place to confirm the ID of the user before banning. It can't really be that hard? And if it is shouldn't they be working on that? At very least have someone manually check to see what the ID is since everyone who plays has some sort of unique ID anyway. Banning based on "this stream looks like this specific guy" is such shitty work.
It's a joke, and even more so that major brands are licensing their content to the game. Perhaps if they started pulling out the same way Stranger Things had, BHVR might take notice.
@@littilwood I always tell people if they want change they should vote with their wallets. If people stopped buying skins and DLC when they are unhappy with the game instead of just crying on Twitter then BHVR would have a reason to act.
It's plain negligence that stuff like this is happening. If someone is impersonating someone else while using cheats and the Devs can't fact check or validate that what they are seeing, it is truly what they think it is. 90% of the responsibility is on the devs, while the cheater only contributes 10% to the innocent players ban.
I think what is happening, is that they are using a very similar tag (lets say instead of #CHOY you'd have #CH0Y) and at the same time use an in-client method to detect a report and then have that report message duplicated and send to the actual user. It's not possible to relay a report to a user, but it is definitely possible to report a user without having been in a game with them if you know their tag(note, this shouldnt be doable, but that's how API's work. Under normal circumstances, you'd have a check that makes sure you were in a game with that player, which DBD might or might not have). Since between systems, the 0 and O look even more alike than the font on youtube, and people who work in support could even use a different font, its not impossible to bypass it. This is, by the way, why nintendo disables letters like the O when it comes to codes. Or, and that would absolutely be the worst case scenario, they managed to alter their own tags. And since normally no player shares the same tag, you can just ban the instance on the top of the list.
@@Predated2 It's kinda trivial rn to mirror and clone hardware and account IDs if you've been in a match with someone in a lot of games using a hole in EAC itself, and it's been pretty easy for a while to force a match to someone's account. They don't need 'similar' tags, they're actually playing on other people's tags, which itself is getting some of the autoflagged bans. That's just the 'complex' version, the intermediate version resembles what you're saying, and the basic one is just relaying a stream.
@@T.BG822 its trivial to mirror it visually, its nearly impossible to mirror it to convince a server. A mirror just overlays data on top of your own data, and you cannot use mirrored data to connect. As for cloned hardware, you do need access to the hardware to clone. And im not talking things that people can see like IP and shit. I mean actually being able to access the software that is on the hardware to pull thst data. They are not playing on other peoples tags, not when it concerns the server. If you truly think hackers can clone your tag and get you reported for that, then you dont even know the basics of security. You ALWAYS send your own data, that connection is ALWAYS unique. You can only make it seem copied to humans. But machines do not let that pass, and even easy Anti-Cheat will never ban you because someone else was spoofing your hardware.

BHVR is a joke when it comes to this. Last week, I filed a ticket to report a streamer that was openly using hacks and advertising his hack website. I linked the person's streams and stuff in my ticket. BHVR responded to me and said "sorry you experienced rude behavior in the postgame chat." They absolutely do not read

Back in late 2018/early 2019: Back then you could moonwalk as legion and people would just "drop dead" when deep wound ran out (the timer would only stop while being in chase) without any possible counterplay. I reported a streamer abusing the heck out of this, added their stream to the ticket and described the issue. Their response: No exploit. A few months later Deep Wound got reworked, because players exploited the mechanic I reported. Thanks bhvr......

I've worked customer support before. Maybe it's not an automated script but they definetly have canned responses that they copy paste depending on the situation. The Hank email seems to be a copy paste that they use whenever someone contacts them regarding their bans. The other one about lifting the ban seems manually written as it was a unique case.

They need to fire the people doing these lazy bans and the people that are not willing to investigate. These companies need to stop hiring lazy people, while there are a lot of people that would do the work better out there. Give us replay and a way to watch matches with supposed cheaters, like CS. If BHVR doesnt want the work, the community will happily do it. Its incredible how cheaters and hackers do a better job then BHVR in finding POS inside their company.

If cheaters and hackers actually did a better job, then there would be many more people purchasing hacked clients. DBD is quite a popular game, made on a very fragile foundation (not anti-cheat, anti-cheat is basically a watchdog program that you can tell what to do and when. It's "easily bypassed" because the standard version of easy anti-cheat is known. But you can make quite the sophisticated alterations. It's why easy anti-cheat is still being used.) and that fragile foundation is very slowly getting replaced. And everytime hackers are at a high is when DBD has left something outdated untouched for too long.

reminds me of how i was perma banned in official group of EA game for linking the rules to a person in chat who asked a torrent link of the game. some admin saw the link from me and assumed it was a torrent link without even looking. lmao. i wrote to support twice and nobody ever answered. 10 years passed. BHVR does not even allow people to post or talk about cheaters on their forum, even with evidence footage. They don't also have any records to see played games like league of legends do. This game is doomed to fail because of BHVR's incompetence to deal with the cheater issue.
Except it's not incompetence, it's a decision on their part, they're more concerned about making money, ie new accounts then they are about protecting their player base. Think about it, how long has cheating been going on in Dead by Daylight? Years, blatant, clear, undeniable cheating, YT has countless proof of players cheating, yet they only do anything when the uproar becomes so deafening they have no choice but to do anything, I mean , FCOL, they only just brought out an update system to inform you if one of your reports actually was acted upon. The scamming, halfassing, exploitation of LGBT people, 0 regard for safety and telling people who got swatted because of their game to "just get VPN idk", the list goes on. I was banned like this as well. No explanation why, my game just closed and next day i get the email im banned permanently. And as just a regular player they didnt give me any explanation or second look at my case. All the dlc and auric cells i bought lost just like that. My suggestion is if you suspsect someone in your match is hacking, quit the match immediately.

Hi, I just saw that I was in this video. I received a 10 year ban without any explanation and I have over 10k hours in game and have spent tons of money. And finally Alexander removed my ban a month later. I have now missed most of the Anniversary and have received no apology or compensation bloodpoints.
They've done worse and gotten completely away with it. It's like when people call the game dead or dying. The world is letting companies pollute and decimate its finite resources and tarnish the infinite ones, you think this will put a dent in anyone's profits?

Sounds like for us non-streamers, playing on anonymous mode is a must. At least until BHVR acknowledges this issue and makes it clear that they're doing something about it.

I think what folks here are trying to say is BHVR's system is so insecure, other players can review script files to find anything from your game ID to your steam ID, your IP, and probably the credit card last used to purchase auric cells.
This goes to my fellow console players don’t worry about it since if you’re on console you can directly contact the console manager company and extract your games records to send to dbd devs since hacking on console it extremely hard ❤😅

I don’t understand for this can happen. I’m not gonna pretend I know what the BHVR backend looks like, but without a UUID/player name AND tag they should never be able to perma ban someone like that. Just seeing a cheater with a streamers name (or anyone’s name) shouldn’t give them reason to permanently ban anyone with that name.
Like I thought they can do simple things like per Game history vs. when they streamed to match the right person even if both was streaming at the same time a difference will appear. Just sad simple impersonation s is enough to throw them off
I was considering picking up this game, but definitely not anymore. It's one thing when there's not enough action against cheaters. It's a whole other situation when you can have the game you paid for stolen from you with a false permanent ban.
genuinely insane how there is NOTHING to be done unless you have a platform to support you. With their entire "innocent until prove guilty" mentality, its really disappoint to have players be scared of getting on the game.

I just went against a hacker that is doing this. He matches up with ttvs intentionally and uses blatant hacks while streaming it. He pulls up the other person's stream and apparently has a way to spam a song that constantly says the N word. He will wait for streamer to pick them up then make it look like the killer is hacking. They are targeting ttvs and hoping to ban them. I managed to kill 2 of them because they dont know how the twins mechanics work. I have the footage if you would like it.

I'm IP banned on the forum. It is heavily moderated can't say anything about the game without getting banned and they don't even give you a reason for the ban.

By the principle itself (that is cheater claiming to fight some righteous battle against devs), I refuse to believe, that even if there is some nasty shit going on in BHVR, these cheaters are doing this for a good cause. This is straight-up malevolent kind of cheating, not sending a message. And then these people have the audacity to claim that they are sitting on a high horse, taking the moral high ground here? This is a vile hypocrisy that they are trying to disguise as some sort of a virtue. If anything, both camps (cheaters and BHVR) should shake hands at this point.
The incredibly subtle and not so subtle cheating has been an issue for over a year without any fix, yet the community and the developers both are too goofy and incompetent to either see it or fix it.

And they dont have to because DBD is the only asym. game in the market that works well over multiple years now. But unlike other companys, BHVR cant even defend themselves against severe cheaters, they are even too incompetent to stop leakers. This is an extra poisonous mix, incompetence and ignorance.
I think things are nuanced. I'm sure everyone has their own reasons for doing it, some genuinely being awareness. Being unable to play dbd is hardly a punishment, seeing how much stress and overwhelmingly negative experiences it brings to players. Let's be honest, it's not just the occasional irritation, it's genuinely tanking people's mental and probably physical health.
@@toxihex876 I see your point partially, but that is up to every singular person to decide. Getting innocent people banned can never be interpreted as a help or a good service. Personally, I divide cheating into two categories: malevolent (subtle cheating, or any kind of obvious cheating to gain advantage in order to torment people in game with godmode etc.). And fun, or not harmful, kind of cheating where goal is to spice things up for everyone involved (for example player-boss invader in dark souls, flying players on top of places that are usually inaccessible because there is something interesting or fun to see, using these tools in order to get better look at details and with that help with explaining or expanding lore, etc. these kinds of things).Or perhaps point out flaws within the game for easier troubleshooting. What we are seeing here is a malevolent kind of cheating in its purest form imo. It is disgusting and unjustifiable. The way I see it is, that some weirdo is trying to claim to have moral high ground. While in actual reality he is just a prick who is desperate to justify something he knows is wrong and he is only doing it to massage his own bloated ego. Sorry for the essay :D

This has me concerned hearing about this worries me because what if you don’t stream if you put in a lot of hours and then someone gets you banned whether it’s someone maliciously reporting you or someone pretending to be you you may not get your account back. Some people don’t think to even record sometimes or maybe they can’t record all the time. I hope that this gets investigated more and I feel extremely bad for people who have been wrongfully banned.

ive had some really sus Easy Anti-Cheat disconnects lately, usually at very convenient times like when im about to win on Killer, i've seen alot of similar killer disconnects while I was playing survivor as well
had a game today where i was about to camp a adam thats apart of a swfs because i have not got a hook then boom dc from the lobby lost connection, i think he got piss cause i was gonna camp him, but in my defence that was my first hook at 2 gens left

I used to stream Dead by Daylight on a daily basis, then on a night of playing solo survivor I got paired with a group of hackers, which afterwards I was promptly banned for "Cheating" despite lack of Evidence, Been playing Dead by Daylight since Beta, haven't cheated in over the 5k hours I have on record. All progress lost. I've tried getting it removed but they simply said there was evidence despite never cheating.

Those bans make literally zero sense. Why tf are there staff members banning accounts based on the NAME ? You ban based on the account ID, not based on the name, that's like the first rule of moderation FFS. That's a new level of bottom tier incompetence, I can't understand how this is a thing. Is it some staff member going rogue ? Is it a new policy they have ? Either way it's ridiculous and definitely shouldn't be a thing. From the company's POV it's already bad enough to allow something like this since it creates so much trouble and so many headaches for them on top of making their company look like a total joke, but even from the employee's POV don't they expect punishment for messing up like that ? Why are they so comfortable doing stupid things like that ? Which goes back to: is BHVR actually allowing them to do that, is it BHVR who even told them to ban like that ? If not, is BHVR seriously just letting their staff members ban random players like that without any kinds of investigation ?! And of course, the biggest problem it exposed is their utter incompetence at finding cheaters. Of course, we all already kinda knew about it, but I certainly didn't expect it to be at *such a high level.* We already knew their anti-cheating systems completely fail at finding people who aren't even hiding their cheats and exploits, but now their staff members are banning people without first checking the account's logs, see if there has ever been any suspicious activities on it or monitor the account for a few days ? It makes absolutely no sense to me on every fronts, it's so stupid it's actually confusing. Because of how stupid and crazy it all is I'll keep that theory of some "rats" working there. Maybe not even people being paid by outsiders to do bs like this but people who hate BHVR and want it to sink. Cheaters be like "Our cheats haven't made enough people quit DbD so I'll go work there instead and randomly ban people. I'll destroy BHVR from within." But this theory's honestly too good for BHVR, it's most probably pure, plain incompetence.
To address your end point, I've been suspecting that there have been some shady dealings with some of the support team. In that some are way too happy to ban some players over minor offences, one of my friends received a week long ban after saying "Uno reverse" to someone who told her to KYS, but the originator of the comment was still able to keep playing. So either we played against an off duty support team member or they were friends with someone because it was so minor. Overall this whole thing is very alarming, I'm a fairly small TTV streamer and I in no way have the voice or pull to be able to defend myself from such accusations. Being able to impersonate other streamers is super unnerving just by copying their overlay, I'm glad I vae a voice activated VTube modle to make it more obvious when I'm talking, but still the thought terrifies me.
The leaked stuff can also come from the consultants, now that we know of their existence. They could be sending pictures to friends who then pass them onto their friends, etc. But I wouldn't be surprised if there are some bad apples at BHVR as well. Awesome video, btw. It's odd that no larger figures in the community are talking about this.

watermarks help prevent your content from being stolen. they don't prevent content from being presented as yours. they don't need to spoof everything; the devs aren't going to compare it against your stream, they're going to see the spoofed username and take action off that alone. watermarks don't do jack. they're for the opposite of this problem.
Won't matter because you aren't big enough to get that out to anyone. If you contact someone from the team specifically they won't care enough to pay attention to it. You will be fucked. Plus, they can just copy everything you have on their own stuff and it won't do jack.
Voidtodos is the hacker that did all of this, for some reason i got recommended to his videos and I see him hacking in his videos to get someone banned and I was in absolute disgust and upset

Quick note to make: That person who bans people instantly by watching streams is definitely going to get fired. With any ban, it will either be so eggregious that an automated system is basically 100% certain a cheat was used, or it should go past at least 3 sets of eyes: 1. the person seeing the cheat happen and reporting it (the judge) 2. the person investigating the cheat and coming to a conclusion (the jury) 3. the person inspecting the conclusion based on the report and then banning (the executioner) Now, 1 and 2 can technically be the same person if its someone working at BHVR support. But 3 can never, EVER be allowed to either be 1 or 2. This person was 1, 2 and 3 at the same time. That makes them unfit for banning people, and thus should either get demoted, retrained or have his rights to ban revoked. He definitely assumed that streaming hackers made the investigation process super easy (which, is definitely true), but being the judge, jury and executioner makes him a MASSIVE security issue.

This Story is from a friend that I used to know not sure If they are lying or not so take it with a little grant of salt: A friend said he had contact to an bhvr Dev I don't know If they work anymore their and I don't have a name, I used too but I forgot because it was never from any importance, they played together back in the day a few times and had a hard tunneling Killer, it's no reportable offense I know that. Their mood shifted a lot and they looked into the accound to see If they found something and they did. They choose to ban an player for a different reason so the tunnler got punished. Like I said, I have zero contact to the developer or that friend anymore and tbf, I rather hope this is just a story thing and not actual bhvr employees that ban people. I still give them the benefit of the doubt, but If you give humans power, they maybe do anything for a bit of money.
I believe this has also happened to me just about a week ago. I recieved a ban without explanation. I sent a ticket and now I'm currently waiting for a response from BHVR.

I recently had a match where an ace was instantly wiggling out of my grasp repeatedly out in the open. I thought it was him doing it, he didn't even try to run away after he just crouched in front of me and pointed at the hook. I realized after the match after I checked the Kates self advertising in the game chat to her tiktok... it was the Kate doing it. She had a full tiktok account of her cheating in all of her dbd rounds and saboing from a distance and everything. She was force dropping the Ace on repeat and I couldn't do anything but dc. If it weren't for that discovery, my video and ban report would have been strictly on the ace and he may have gotten banned. It's so sad that decent/good players are losing their accounts, time, effort, and money just because some people want to be jerks.

I can confirm this happens. I am currently on month 17 of a "temporary" ban. I reported a cheater and they banned me instead. Behaviour has been made aware of the situation, but since I am a small fry they refuse to respond.

This happened to me over a decade ago on xbox 360. People could infect you with a modded client of Call of Duty which resulted in a permanent ban from xbox live services.
While all the hours wasted sucks, it's all that money you've spent on the game that'll hurt the most. You spent a lot of money on dlcs and skins just for some ass hat to falsely get you ban and all of a sudden, all that money you spent becomes the equivalent of throwing it in the trash. @@DoroNijimaru You can do it on steam on pc as well. You can have you and 3 buddies hop on survivor with the exact same name which is what causes a lot of this. They go off steam name and not ID as well so you could have 100 people with your name and you happen to be the one banned.
It also gives you a game ban on your Steam profile for everybody to see. It ruins your entire reputation and everyone is gonna call you a cheater for no reason.
The sad part is that this isn't the only game infested with terrible developers, Rainbow Six Siege also has cheaters + terrible management (I say management because I saw one account of an ex Ubisoft tester, who the exes would rush releases to completion instead of let the bug testing + fixes be completed first). Fuck even Hellblade 2 wasn't safe from developer stupidity. It just makes me want to give up on gaming entirely tbh ☹or just live in the past and stick to classics
I would suggest to you that the best way to get Behaviour’s attention on this is to hit them in the wallet. It seems unwise to purchase ANYTHING from them, especially auric cells, when your entire asset inventory can be taken from you without warning. A strike on in game purchases from the streaming community could potentially get attention quickly. I know I’m going to scale back my purchase schedule specifically because of this threat.

This is exactly what happened to a veteran player friend of mine who played since. The issue hasn’t been resolved yet, and it upsets me because he isn’t well known. I wouldn't say hackers can ban us, that's a bit of clickbait as it implies the hackers has some form of access to moderation tools and are able to ban you themselves. But that's not what's going on judging by this video, its more they can bait a ban from the actual moderators because said moderators are being quite stupid. It's the equivalent of a darkRP kid in Garry's mod lying to the server admin to get you banned, all it takes is the admin to not be an idiot and to check the facts/data which evidently the DBD and TCS moderators aren't doing. This is still a rather annoying situation, these bans shouldn't be happening to begin with as it implies they're banning off name-tag only which as we know can be easily swapped around showing a rather great incompetence in the respective game's moderating abilities, this probably won't be affecting regular users AS MUCH, low-to-mid streamers are gonna be the primary target since they can spoof streamer names, but still it's a situation that can affect everyone in some capacity and as said, shouldn't even be happening.

The problem with these companies is they never actually check 'cases' until pressured by a community and often times you get punishments put on your account and when you simply want to know why you got the punishment they tell you "we can't tell you that" LIKE WHY NOT? I once got muted in overwatch when I quite literally said nothing for 2 weeks straight except "ez" when I lost and "gg" when I won and I kept pestering them about it because I know I was innocent and all they ever gave was a dumbass AI response "hello, I'm [Generic Name here], after reviewing your case it will remain" when all I asked was what I said or did that got me muted so I can avoid doing it in the future but nope, never got told. How do you expect someone to follow your rules if you don't tell them what they did wrong so they could improve? 🤔 Anyway, these companies don't ever have any real people behind the scenes to look into appeals, it's all just automated system to auto-deny everything and usually result in having to call comapnies themselves to pester them to get an ACTUAL human to talk to. Sadly there is a possibility that console people could cheat too. There are console devices that allow you to cheat in other games (such as COD), it would not be strange if there were ones for DBD in the future, if not they already exist.

I literally had a dream where i was killer that I just woke from, it was on older dbd but current in game UI, McMillan map that was dark as shit and everything had a high contrast, darker colors more neon and the ground was an abyss, the MacMillans sombre blue filled the scenery and the map was an inconsistant small area, like it couldnt load it all but a small portion for us to be in, and the hacker wouldnt die, invincibility and speed, i killed everyone else thinking they were hacking too, but the hacker was mid chase with me and I was SWEATING IN MY DREAM with hope i could somehow win, then i woke up! *confetti pop and kazoo!*

It's plain negligence that stuff like this is happening. If someone is impersonating someone else while using cheats and the Devs can't fact check or validate that what they are seeing, it is truly what they think it is. 90% of the responsibility is on the devs, while the cheater only contributes 10% to the innocent players ban.
I think what is happening, is that they are using a very similar tag (lets say instead of #CHOY you'd have #CH0Y) and at the same time use an in-client method to detect a report and then have that report message duplicated and send to the actual user. It's not possible to relay a report to a user, but it is definitely possible to report a user without having been in a game with them if you know their tag(note, this shouldnt be doable, but that's how API's work. Under normal circumstances, you'd have a check that makes sure you were in a game with that player, which DBD might or might not have).
Since between systems, the 0 and O look even more alike than the font on youtube, and people who work in support could even use a different font, its not impossible to bypass it. This is, by the way, why nintendo disables letters like the O when it comes to codes.
Or, and that would absolutely be the worst case scenario, they managed to alter their own tags. And since normally no player shares the same tag, you can just ban the instance on the top of the list.

@@Predated2 It's kinda trivial rn to mirror and clone hardware and account IDs if you've been in a match with someone in a lot of games using a hole in EAC itself, and it's been pretty easy for a while to force a match to someone's account. They don't need 'similar' tags, they're actually playing on other people's tags, which itself is getting some of the autoflagged bans. That's just the 'complex' version, the intermediate version resembles what you're saying, and the basic one is just relaying a stream.
@@T.BG822 its trivial to mirror it visually, its nearly impossible to mirror it to convince a server. A mirror just overlays data on top of your own data, and you cannot use mirrored data to connect. As for cloned hardware, you do need access to the hardware to clone. And im not talking things that people can see like IP and shit. I mean actually being able to access the software that is on the hardware to pull thst data.
They are not playing on other peoples tags, not when it concerns the server.
If you truly think hackers can clone your tag and get you reported for that, then you dont even know the basics of security. You ALWAYS send your own data, that connection is ALWAYS unique. You can only make it seem copied to humans. But machines do not let that pass, and even easy Anti-Cheat will never ban you because someone else was spoofing your hardware.

Back in late 2018/early 2019: Back then you could moonwalk as legion and people would just "drop dead" when deep wound ran out (the timer would only stop while being in chase) without any possible counterplay. I reported a streamer abusing the heck out of this, added their stream to the ticket and described the issue. Their response: No exploit.
A few months later Deep Wound got reworked, because players exploited the mechanic I reported.

I've worked customer support before. Maybe it's not an automated script but they definetly have canned responses that they copy paste depending on the situation. DBD is quite a popular game, made on a very fragile foundation (not anti-cheat, anti-cheat is basically a watchdog program that you can tell what to do and when. It's "easily bypassed" because the standard version of easy anti-cheat is known. But you can make quite the sophisticated alterations. It's why easy anti-cheat is still being used.) and that fragile foundation is very slowly getting replaced. And everytime hackers are at a high is when DBD has left something outdated untouched for too long.

BHVRS DBD security is an actual joke at this point, and to think the security issues probably wouldn't be as bad if they didn't release that developer build to the public. They singlehandedly damned their own security, and put the playerbase at risk. Not acceptable whatsoever
Want a list of all the unacceptable things they've done? Because I could write at least 4 paragraphs on that. The scamming, halfassing, exploitation of LGBT people, 0 regard for safety and telling people who got swatted because of their game to "just get VPN idk", the list goes on. They have not only proven these things are acceptable, but that they still have room to push it before they even see a dent in their profits.

I was banned like this as well. No explanation why, my game just closed and next day i get the email im banned permanently. And as just a regular player they didnt give me any explanation or second look at my case. All the dlc and auric cells i bought lost just like that. My suggestion is if you suspsect someone in your match is hacking, quit the match immediately.
That type of shit shouldn’t even be legal if you’re banned, especially unjustifiably they should have to refund all of your purchases.

Hi, I just saw that I was in this video. I received a 10 year ban without any explanation and I have over 10k hours in game and have spent tons of money. And finally Alexander removed my ban a month later. I have now missed most of the Anniversary and have received no apology or compensation bloodpoints.

I think what folks here are trying to say is BHVR's system is so insecure, other players can review script files to find anything from your game ID to your steam ID, your IP, and probably the credit card last used to purchase auric cells.

I don’t understand for this can happen. I’m not gonna pretend I know what the BHVR backend looks like, but without a UUID/player name AND tag they should never be able to perma ban someone like that. Just seeing a cheater with a streamers name (or anyone’s name) shouldn’t give them reason to permanently ban anyone with that name.

I was considering picking up this game, but definitely not anymore. It's one thing when there's not enough action against cheaters. It's a whole other situation when you can have the game you paid for stolen from you with a false permanent ban.

I just went against a hacker that is doing this. He matches up with ttvs intentionally and uses blatant hacks while streaming it. He pulls up the other person's stream and apparently has a way to spam a song that constantly says the N word. He will wait for streamer to pick them up then make it look like the killer is hacking. They are targeting ttvs and hoping to ban them. I managed to kill 2 of them because they dont know how the twins mechanics work. I have the footage if you would like it.

The incredibly subtle and not so subtle cheating has been an issue for over a year without any fix, yet the community and the developers both are too goofy and incompetent to either see it or fix it.

But unlike other companys, BHVR cant even defend themselves against severe cheaters, they are even too incompetent to stop leakers. This is an extra poisonous mix, incompetence and ignorance.
I think things are nuanced. I'm sure everyone has their own reasons for doing it, some genuinely being awareness. Being unable to play dbd is hardly a punishment, seeing how much stress and overwhelmingly negative experiences it brings to players. Let's be honest, it's not just the occasional irritation, it's genuinely tanking people's mental and probably physical health.

Personally, I divide cheating into two categories: malevolent (subtle cheating, or any kind of obvious cheating to gain advantage in order to torment people in game with godmode etc.).
And fun, or not harmful, kind of cheating where goal is to spice things up for everyone involved (for example player-boss invader in dark souls, flying players on top of places that are usually inaccessible because there is something interesting or fun to see, using these tools in order to get better look at details and with that help with explaining or expanding lore, etc. these kinds of things).Or perhaps point out flaws within the game for easier troubleshooting.
What we are seeing here is a malevolent kind of cheating in its purest form imo. It is disgusting and unjustifiable. The way I see it is, that some weirdo is trying to claim to have moral high ground. While in actual reality he is just a prick who is desperate to justify something he knows is wrong and he is only doing it to massage his own bloated ego.

This has me concerned hearing about this worries me because what if you don’t stream if you put in a lot of hours and then someone gets you banned whether it’s someone maliciously reporting you or someone pretending to be you you may not get your account back. Some people don’t think to even record sometimes or maybe they can’t record all the time. I hope that this gets investigated more and I feel extremely bad for people who have been wrongfully banned.

Crytek Removed ReShade from the EAC white list so it can be done. ReShade was being used in that game to see through fog, make you immune to flash bangs and to have a zoom in scope like effect on all weapons when you ADS,

Literally why i stopped playing DBD. Back when i quit, hackers were everywhere.
I used to stream Dead by Daylight on a daily basis, then on a night of playing solo survivor I got paired with a group of hackers, which afterwards I was promptly banned for "Cheating" despite lack of Evidence, Been playing Dead by Daylight since Beta, haven't cheated in over the 5k hours I have on record. All progress lost. I've tried getting it removed but they simply said there was evidence despite never cheating.

From the company's POV it's already bad enough to allow something like this since it creates so much trouble and so many headaches for them on top of making their company look like a total joke, but even from the employee's POV don't they expect punishment for messing up like that ? And of course, the biggest problem it exposed is their utter incompetence at finding cheaters. Of course, we all already kinda knew about it, but I certainly didn't expect it to be at *such a high level.* We already knew their anti-cheating systems completely fail at finding people who aren't even hiding their cheats and exploits, but now their staff members are banning people without first checking the account's logs, see if there has ever been any suspicious activities on it or monitor the account for a few days ?
It makes absolutely no sense to me on every fronts, it's so stupid it's actually confusing.
Because of how stupid and crazy it all is I'll keep that theory of some "rats" working there. Maybe not even people being paid by outsiders to do bs like this but people who hate BHVR and want it to sink. Cheaters be like "Our cheats haven't made enough people quit DbD so I'll go work there instead and randomly ban people. I'll destroy BHVR from within."
But this theory's honestly too good for BHVR, it's most probably pure, plain incompetence.
To address your end point, I've been suspecting that there have been some shady dealings with some of the support team. In that some are way too happy to ban some players over minor offences, one of my friends received a week long ban after saying "Uno reverse" to someone who told her to KYS, but the originator of the comment was still able to keep playing.
So either we played against an off duty support team member or they were friends with someone because it was so minor.
Overall this whole thing is very alarming, I'm a fairly small TTV streamer and I in no way have the voice or pull to be able to defend myself from such accusations. Being able to impersonate other streamers is super unnerving just by copying their overlay, I'm glad I vae a voice activated VTube modle to make it more obvious when I'm talking, but still the thought terrifies me.

The leaked stuff can also come from the consultants, now that we know of their existence. They could be sending pictures to friends who then pass them onto their friends, etc. But I wouldn't be surprised if there are some bad apples at BHVR as well. Awesome video, btw. It's odd that no larger figures in the community are talking about this.

they don't need to spoof everything; the devs aren't going to compare it against your stream, they're going to see the spoofed username and take action off that alone.

Quick note to make:
That person who bans people instantly by watching streams is definitely going to get fired. With any ban, it will either be so eggregious that an automated system is basically 100% certain a cheat was used, or it should go past at least 3 sets of eyes:
1. the person seeing the cheat happen and reporting it (the judge)
2. the person investigating the cheat and coming to a conclusion (the jury)
3. the person inspecting the conclusion based on the report and then banning (the executioner)
Now, 1 and 2 can technically be the same person if its someone working at BHVR support. But 3 can never, EVER be allowed to either be 1 or 2.
This person was 1, 2 and 3 at the same time. That makes them unfit for banning people, and thus should either get demoted, retrained or have his rights to ban revoked. He definitely assumed that streaming hackers made the investigation process super easy (which, is definitely true), but being the judge, jury and executioner makes him a MASSIVE security issue.
Imagine spending money on characters, skins, chapters, etc
Learning how to play every killer and learning every survivor perk trying new builds having over 10k hours
And you get banned in an instant by a hacker and BHVR won’t do anything about it

This Story is from a friend that I used to know not sure If they are lying or not so take it with a little grant of salt:
A friend said he had contact to an bhvr Dev I don't know If they work anymore their and I don't have a name, I used too but I forgot because it was never from any importance, they played together back in the day a few times and had a hard tunneling Killer, it's no reportable offense I know that.
Their mood shifted a lot and they looked into the accound to see If they found something and they did. They choose to ban an player for a different reason so the tunnler got punished.
Like I said, I have zero contact to the developer or that friend anymore and tbf, I rather hope this is just a story thing and not actual bhvr employees that ban people. I still give them the benefit of the doubt, but If you give humans power, they maybe do anything for a bit of money.

I recently had a match where an ace was instantly wiggling out of my grasp repeatedly out in the open. I thought it was him doing it, he didn't even try to run away after he just crouched in front of me and pointed at the hook. I realized after the match after I checked the Kates self advertising in the game chat to her tiktok... it was the Kate doing it. She had a full tiktok account of her cheating in all of her dbd rounds and saboing from a distance and everything. She was force dropping the Ace on repeat and I couldn't do anything but dc.
If it weren't for that discovery, my video and ban report would have been strictly on the ace and he may have gotten banned. It's so sad that decent/good players are losing their accounts, time, effort, and money just because some people want to be jerks.
I'm absolutely done with Dead by Daylight if this continues, absolutely ridiculous that can you can lose potentially hundreds of dollars of in game purchases and thousands of hours of progress.
I can confirm this happens. I am currently on month 17 of a "temporary" ban. I reported a cheater and they banned me instead. Behaviour has been made aware of the situation, but since I am a small fry they refuse to respond.
Takes ~1 week to unban someone after identifying the ban was in error. If that doesn't show incompetence, you should be wearing a helmet when you go out in public.

You spent a lot of money on dlcs and skins just for some ass hat to falsely get you ban and all of a sudden, all that money you spent becomes the equivalent of throwing it in the trash. Yup! I think it isn't the fact you put the money on that game and you can't use what you payed for (because that is guarenteed to happen at some point) but the fact the time you spent making that money and using it on dbd is now gone.
It is honestly unbelievable that they're using an in-game name and not someone's unique steam ID for banning people.

@@DoroNijimaru You can do it on steam on pc as well. You can have you and 3 buddies hop on survivor with the exact same name which is what causes a lot of this. They go off steam name and not ID as well so you could have 100 people with your name and you happen to be the one banned.

It also gives you a game ban on your Steam profile for everybody to see. It ruins your entire reputation and everyone is gonna call you a cheater for no reason.
The sad part is that this isn't the only game infested with terrible developers, Rainbow Six Siege also has cheaters + terrible management (I say management because I saw one account of an ex Ubisoft tester, who the exes would rush releases to completion instead of let the bug testing + fixes be completed first). Fuck even Hellblade 2 wasn't safe from developer stupidity. It just makes me want to give up on gaming entirely tbh ☹or just live in the past and stick to classics
I would suggest to you that the best way to get Behaviour’s attention on this is to hit them in the wallet.
It seems unwise to purchase ANYTHING from them, especially auric cells, when your entire asset inventory can be taken from you without warning. A strike on in game purchases from the streaming community could potentially get attention quickly.
I know I’m going to scale back my purchase schedule specifically because of this threat.
Not bought the latest dlc. Might give the game up for good.

This is exactly what happened to a veteran player friend of mine who played since. The issue hasn’t been resolved yet, and it upsets me because he isn’t well known. And reaching out, I got tired of hearing people tell me “well he deserved it” like no, he didn’t!! I really hope I can still fight for his account back still.
I wouldn't say hackers can ban us, that's a bit of clickbait as it implies the hackers has some form of access to moderation tools and are able to ban you themselves. But that's not what's going on judging by this video, its more they can bait a ban from the actual moderators because said moderators are being quite stupid. It's the equivalent of a darkRP kid in Garry's mod lying to the server admin to get you banned, all it takes is the admin to not be an idiot and to check the facts/data which evidently the DBD and TCS moderators aren't doing.
This is still a rather annoying situation, these bans shouldn't be happening to begin with as it implies they're banning off name-tag only which as we know can be easily swapped around showing a rather great incompetence in the respective game's moderating abilities, this probably won't be affecting regular users AS MUCH, low-to-mid streamers are gonna be the primary target since they can spoof streamer names, but still it's a situation that can affect everyone in some capacity and as said, shouldn't even be happening.

The problem with these companies is they never actually check 'cases' until pressured by a community and often times you get punishments put on your account and when you simply want to know why you got the punishment they tell you "we can't tell you that" LIKE WHY NOT?
I once got muted in overwatch when I quite literally said nothing for 2 weeks straight except "ez" when I lost and "gg" when I won and I kept pestering them about it because I know I was innocent and all they ever gave was a dumbass AI response "hello, I'm [Generic Name here], after reviewing your case it will remain" when all I asked was what I said or did that got me muted so I can avoid doing it in the future but nope, never got told.
How do you expect someone to follow your rules if you don't tell them what they did wrong so they could improve? 🤔
Anyway, these companies don't ever have any real people behind the scenes to look into appeals, it's all just automated system to auto-deny everything and usually result in having to call comapnies themselves to pester them to get an ACTUAL human to talk to.

I've been banned for 4 months now this is because my account got hacked and the person cheated on my steam account but I was able to get my steam account back but I'm banned I sent an email to the dbd support and never got a response

Sadly there is a possibility that console people could cheat too. There are console devices that allow you to cheat in other games (such as COD), it would not be strange if there were ones for DBD in the future, if not they already exist.

I literally had a dream where i was killer that I just woke from, it was on older dbd but current in game UI, McMillan map that was dark as shit and everything had a high contrast, darker colors more neon and the ground was an abyss, the MacMillans sombre blue filled the scenery and the map was an inconsistant small area, like it couldnt load it all but a small portion for us to be in, and the hacker wouldnt die, invincibility and speed, i killed everyone else thinking they were hacking too, but the hacker was mid chase with me and I was SWEATING IN MY DREAM with hope i could somehow win, then i woke up! *confetti pop and kazoo!*
