    It's wild how many people will defend BUTTON MASHING as the primary gameplay interaction between Family and Victims in an asymmetrical horror game simply because it benefits their side.

      I hate button mashing with a passion in all games. Very few games do it well and TCM isn't one of them. The grapple system needs to be changed to a timing based interaction kinda like the arm wrestling in Outlast Trials.

    I recently dipped my toes into the DBD subreddit, and watched as they proposed introducing bots when someone DCs while loading, and the community yelled, "No, don't do this!" And you know what? They didn't do it. They pulled back and just didn't introduce the change. Say what you will about BHVR, but at least they test things and go back on changes that clearly don't work.
    Meanwhile, Gun does whatever comes into their heads, and when it blatantly doesn't work, they just say, "Ah yes, now that we've picked up our children from daycare and had supper, we shall acknowledge your petty grievances, but do nothing about them. We realize that everyone playing family is struggling, but y'all clearly just need time to adjust, adapt, and get better at the game."
    They've made a number of terrible decisions and never once reverted them. It's like they can't deal with the fact that something they did could be wrong, so they'll double down until their game dies.

    It’s so boring and annoying how many times I’ve been grappled and then stunned for a very long time and victims just get away fast. Then Leland can just stun me right back with his power. It’s frustrating and poor game design especially for newcomers, it’s not a fun experience whatsoever that on top of the horrible que times. Victim players are extremely toxic right now and have the power role in this game.

      @@yeetmcskeet9533 Lore victims are just built different, they only got captured by ambush, and during the timeline of the game they are literally an hour or so away from dying and still can give healthy and fresh family members trouble.

    These devs have been trying to bury this game since launch. It’s truly amazing how they match their stubbornness with incompetence. They clearly don’t even play their own game.

    And nerf most good blood builds and then they spread little blood buckets around the map so how are they supposed to encourage us to feed Grandpa when you barely give us any blood to feed him

      its actually so true bro, while the random perks were annoying it allowed for more interesting builds having scout as a random, i would run a blood build with johnny and hitch with scout but now i literally have 0 way to do that bar a SINGLE blood perk. johnny cant have universal in conjuction with anything else and hitch has to sacrifice all his good perks just to go right for a measly blood harvesting increase

      Only bugs I have ran into is sound issues, people getting stuck on ladders or wells on TCM

      @@jpakill8872 sound issues. Stuck on ladder, teleporting left and right when swinging, virginias cloud abilities does not work, leatherface chainsaw hitbox bug, endless stunned from leland, Danny gets stuck sometimes on temper, hands ripstall sometimes won't recharge and the list goes on

    They have 4 objectives "so family can't just camp the exits" but they also let people stun family long enough to do objectives "so family can't just camp the exits", it should only be one or the other. The fact that there being more objectives than family members is the prevention to camping should imply that camping would actually stop the objective you're camping from getting done, but it doesn't. With proficiency being op and battery being made way easier, connie and leland's ability, choose fight, they can beat your ass long enough to do any lock or objective in your face and they can do that multiple times. The only people who can somewhat combat it are hands, hitch and lf, and even they can only do so much. Any other character or situation you can have 2 people rush an objective and get out guaranteed, no matter how closely you are protecting it, as long as one of them has proficiency and the other has choose fight
    If all the victims are good you literally can't feed grandpa because you feed him one time that's 1 or 2 locks broken and probably halfway done with the objective, or the fusebox from 0 to 100, even if you go straight to grandpa and back and even if you had traps on it. Thankfully not all victims are good most of the time, which is the only reason I am still playing

    It doesn’t even seem like GUN listens anymore. They say “We hear you and are working on fixing the issue” and then add the most bare bones bandaid patch possible, only to then completely subvert any of the other problems to release a huge update that completely tilts the game in one side’s favor.

      They learned the bandaiding from BHVR. I see the moment right in front of me, that a dev says, if you don't like to play family, maybe try victim or just play any other game.

    When they said granpa rework i was actually expecting a rework... Like make the bad useless granpa useful.
    Chicken perk: Should be map-wide just like how when we see victims spamming bone piles and toolboxes across the map, right now you can only see the chicken alert from a close distance.
    And why not combine Windoom and Well Well Well together?
    Granpa perk: *Trauma*
    "Victims who climb down wells and jump Windows take 50% more damage"
    The logo could be a guy falling through a window
    And Exterior alarms rework imo is to remove from the basement doors and completely disable for the last victim standing to give a fair chance for the last victim. Regardless if the family got the other 3 or if the other 3 escaped. EA gets disable for the last victim standing.
    Also Nobody escapes hell should be a lvl 1 perk. It gets no value at lvl 3 lol

    The battery "bugfix" is the thing that has made family really unfun for me. I used to play family almost exclusively but have played it less and less after the battery got disabled in front of my face without me being able to do anything while stunned. And I don't play victim much either because of queue times often being longer than matches, wether I escape or not.

      Oh, but family can turn off gen in one hit, yet victims can’t? It makes sense for Danny, or Connie who know machinery, to turn it off quickly. As for the choose fight, nerf to 3 seconds, that’s it

      @@Spartag1706 victims could already turn gen off quickly with high strength. Only Danny can turn it off basically instantly with tamper. And even nerfing that perk to 3 seconds won't fix the issue with battery

      @@Steve_SCirca30 I really do like the game as well, but it's just difficult to have fun with either incredibly long queue times on victim or frustrating matches as family, I don't take the game that serious so I'm still enjoying family but victims disabling battery in front of you is really annoying

    I´m a huge fan of the game, I love it and it hurts to see how things changed for the bad. I was so surprised how awesome balanced the game was in the beginning (except for the hostage stun situation which got fixed pretty fast). I loved the 1hit mechanik in grapples, as family AND as victim. God damnit, as a victim you should be scared and run away but now all you do is rush, grapple, rush, die or escape. The stealth gameplay just got erased by the players who know the game and how it functions.
    I play both sides 50/50 and it never felt so fucking easy AND borring to play victim and playing family just feels borring now even if we make the 4k (what we do alot).
    It´s not about the outcome, it´s about the way you have to go to finish the game and it just feels stale.
    I still trust in GUN that they will fix it, everyone can make mistakes but this mistake needs to be fixed ASAP or the second spring with Maria and Hands release will be for nothing.

    All of these changes just proves that GUN Media doesn't play their own game. Maybe if they get completely destroyed on stream like DBD's Mathieu did maybe we'll see some good changes.

      @@Pipopowitz you can Google it it was in the patch notes around the time they changed devs they literally have a whole team to playtest, and it turns out like this, yes.😂😭 btw it was in March when they told us about the cosmetic team and changing to Black Tower studios

      @Pipopowitz Testronic Labs on QA testing. They are awful, considering that is their whole job. Don't blame Gun media they are not the developers. Gun are only the publishers. Black Tower Studio's are the devs. The same people who took over on f13 before the lawsuit for who owns Jason and his mother. They made Pinehurst and Jarvis house.

    The victim mains were defending the grampa rework and have said it's a skill issue for the family to lose the grapple. This is how the victims want the game to be lol.

    This is just an idea.
    What if we made it that you need to have high strenght to grapple certain family members. For example it you need more points to grapple somebody like johnny than cook for example. In that case you need to choose between strenght or anything else cause you might have trouble with stronger family characters. A connie for example shouldnt be able to grapple hands or johhny and win. Altough bodygoarding the connie as leeland wouldnt be really fixed cause leeland already has high strenght but its just a concept i tought about. (I play both sides but dont have a lot of hours and this is just a idea/concept of how the game COULD be.)

    Victims has to be afraid of the killers as this is a horror game. Family should have the advantage.

      Exactly! A VICTIM, who has been best around and tortured, constantly bleeding out should not be fighting these people. Grappling honestly should be limited to ONE per family member. It’s a last resort but GunMedia thinks it’s “counter play”

    There are a few issues that seem like obvious changes that I just can't wrap my head around why the devs refuse to adress them:
    First they need to remove the damn cutscene for the family, no point in having a basement along with a basemant killer spawn if the victims are already out of the basement by the time the cutscene is finished.
    Another issue is that in this current state there is no reason to feed grandpa, so unless they reverse the changes and fix the problem perks, they need to implement a system that automatically advances grandpa, which the victims should not be able to undo, say opening all basement doors, should atleast put grandpa to level 1 permanently with every action the victims take further advancing grandpa, with grandpa automatically maxing out at level 2 once atleast one exit is opened with family side needing to feed granpa to further advance him.
    As for grappling, that should be a last resort action that is limited to one time per victim that should NOT require a bonescrap, say at 20% health the victim has the option to once perform a grappling attack on every family member that isn't Leatherface with the same minigame that should they win, would stun the family member granting the victim immunity for say 2 seconds.

    I think it's absolutely funny how the Developers say that they changed grandpa because they wanted to make feeding him more important and then they make rushing more powerful to the point where killers literally don't have time to feed him anymore even with blood builds and you literally tell the victims which perk activate at which levels, and ontop of that, one stab with level 3 agitator and he loses damn near 3 levels! Agitator and rushing need to be nerfed if ya'll really wanna make grandpa " more important " as well as buff the perks that are in the level 1 and 2 categories. You guys literally did the opposite with grandpa than what ya'll wanted to do. You didn't make grandpa more important, ya'll literally nerfed him

    Grapple has needed to change for a while now. This update just made it more obvious. Grapple should be a high risk, desperate move for a victim. Family stats should lower stun time, like high endurance, maybe. The battery should only take a second or two to turn on for Family. It's already on a long cooldown after victims turn it off. It shouldn't take Family 20 seconds to turn it back on. The grandpa perk change made it so the useless perks are now being run but it still needs a rework. Personally I like the idea of grandpa perks all being active at level 1, but are weak. Then grow stronger the more grandpa levels up.

    The amount of Victim videos I see were often filled with grapples from RUclipsrs who does commentary on it. It makes me question how unbalance the game is after they nerfed the family without doing any good changes. Basically, they just stuck a fake bandage onto the game as if it will "encourage" players to feed Grandpa.

    I rememeber before the grandpa perk change, i used to run suffocating on Johnny, and fully ran a build expecting grapples, managed to get 3 GRAPPLE KILLS cause of how bad they were spamming it, and the fact i maxed out strength, and learned toe xpect the double back into grapple and get an early hit before the grapple started to confirm the win
    nothing does taste better getting a grapple kill right in front of the exit door cause someone got cocky

    I recently redownload this game, and honestly, deleted it the very same day, every Johnny game I had was standing still simulator, not voluntarily, but because after each grapple it was infuriating watching my character stand still for 5-6 seconds after the grapple "Baby rage defeat" animation ends, also... New maps are more confusing ugly than the original 3.

Soooo, hopes are not very high, but again, I am a player who played on release till that date, leave it out of frustration, came back a single day and leave it again, They honestly do not need to balance on fix on my opinion, I am gone and insignificant towards the bigger picture.

    2 things that could fix the game quite well and easy without making family overpowered would 1 when victims wake up grandpa he goes to level 1 this may slow the rush meta a tiny bit but the 2nd thing is the grandpa rework, all 3 perks should be applied at level 1 and get stronger as grandpa levels up like excited grandpa perk, this would make feeding grandpa a little rewarding, while slowing the rush meta and adding more grandpa gamplay from both sides.

    I stopped playing when they stopped allowing traps at the top of ladders. Asymmetrical games that have a clear bias for survivor side isnt for me

    This mechanic has been a problem since this game's release. I remember asking a streamer during the game's beta if family could even win that interaction. Every person playing was getting grappled and lost each time it happened. Out of all the hours of this game I've seen, I've seen family win that one single time which told me back then the mechanic was designed for the family to lose.
    It's such an abusable mechanic and I cannot understand how they didn't instantly see that.
    Also, the button mashing thing, that's not at all skillful as a minigame. It's not something you can practice and get good at. Speed has a finite potential in humans so it will never be a fair game.
    Not to mention, a lot of controllers have turbo functions.
    The entire mechanic is outdated, unfair, easily exploited, and easily cheated. That mechanic alone was a huge red flag for me, causing me to avoid even trying to play this game at all.

      Exactly. I don't know why people buy their games. All they do is abandon them like they did with F13 and Hunting Grounds. TCM and Killer Klowns will be no different. The balancing issues will just speed up the process with TCM in particular.

    3:34 they're clearly not seeing any matches where family gets bullied. Hell they probably don't even play their game because if they did they would probably start making changes where family has a chance to win instead of every time you play family you might aswell just put your controller down. Like I do play victim more than family but I try to play both to be on the same page everyone. This is so pathetic with the way these Devs are just coping with that fact that they made a fun party game WHICH THEY DIDN'T!!!!

      In one of the meetings they were playing the game (like 4 months ago) and they were lvl 40 something so no they don’t play their own game. They probably have multiple accounts but still.

    To change the game I think that wells should deal more damage, all lock picks take 20% longer and 50% longer in basement and battery no longer scales again. Also, you need a certain amount of strength to grapple a family member: 20 for hitch, cook, and sissy, 25 for Nancy, 35 for Johnny, and either 40 for hands or just make it so he’s like bubba. Also, if you are below fifty health, you start with the disadvantage, you should be grappling to get extra distance when healthy, not just grappling at any time, also, make the grapple immunity after you get stunned at least 20-30 seconds. As a way to balance this, I would also nerf family damage by about 10% or at least to where it takes around 6 hits to kill, it’s too op if you catch someone in the open with Johnny. Then, I would also make hands to where he can only ripstall an exit once per game just so he’s not a complete counter pick to Danny

    On Twitch and on RUclips they make streams and videos playing as victims, believing themselves to be "professionals" in front of inexperienced and casual gamers.
    But when they have to play against players who run Familiars professionally, they make the victims tremble with fear.
    And obviously the "professional victims" get so upset that they block, silence and report the family members.
    I know the one who plays at the beginning of this video how he plays,and does exactly the same thing. He trolls inexperienced and casual players and no one criticizes him for anything.
    While if he has to play because of his bad luck with real professionals, he knows how to explode with anger.
    It is clear that they are not professional victims, they are just players who spend their time using "helpers with a microphone" and who cannot handle good players.
    It is because of that type of gamers that the majority of TCM gamers no longer want to play the game.

    It sucks to play as family now, survivora are at the exit within 3 minutes then when you attempt to capture victims this is where the UFC simulator, I mean grapple simulator begins and they escape. No challenge on victim's side while it's not fun as family anymore. We quit. Fix this so we return.

    bhvr has this same problem, and its became my opinon basically that
    IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A PVP GAME, then fucking have 2 or 3 people dedicated to playing both sides, equally. with every character. testing what works, whats broken, everything, i know QA exists usually but for pvp games like this normal bug testing just, doesnt work the same. you have to try EVERYTHING or itll break. and so you know the community and how matches usually play.
    bhvr did this once, or had this happen once, and it made a semi possitive change (the flashlight rework). it wasnt perfect, but it showed them "oh shit, this is broken we need to fix this"
    if you want to encourage other playstyles, thats great. its a way to keep the game from becoming stale, but doing that by nerfing everything into the ground onlly hurts the game. its like game developers forget how to be people and communicate and its honestly sad.
    the best dbd tcsm game i ever played was friday the 13th honestly. and its a shame that game died,because without a really good one, it gives them excuses to do this kinda shit because "what else are they gonna go play?" and its disgusting

    The lobby dodging is such a joke, if Family players start getting penalized for leaving during matches, expect those lobby waits to increase. If a new Leatherface player leaves after getting shanked in the basement after the cutscene ends, the other two are going to weigh those odds and decide if they really want to stick around if they're getting rushed. Who is going to stick around for the express purpose of raising Victim xp scores by getting thrashed? And then this Family players either switching to Victim or trolling lobbies anyway they can.

      Yeah they don't play there own game I have victims that are level 99 as well as family so I'm pretty sure it's not a skill issue I wanna see the devs stop a Connie that can stun you for 6 seconds turn off the battery then run to the gate use her ability insta open the lock tea bag then escape 😂😂😂 and don't let it be 2 victims and your team is occupied it's a garuntee escape one victim will just grapple you stun you while you watch the other victim do the objective even is another family comes to help if it's not leatherface well they will just get grappled too smh they can keep grandpa the way he is yeah it sucks cause now victims will just Stab grandpa when he gets to level 3 anyways so just bring back insta kill for family that would slow down.the grappling

    Got a fun build for ya to upset those bullies that love grappling and stabbing grandpa, it works very well and is very satisfying indeed. Sissy, level 3 damage poison, 55 sec poison, 13.5 sec effect time. That's her ability tree. Perks: spore loser, blood banker, dracula. 50 blood harvesting, 17 savagery, rest of points into stamina. Grandpa perk, SG. She can carry 182 blood, 30 from buckets, poison the victims if she loses a grapple, also gains 40 blood if she loses a grapple. If she wins a grapple (remember, SG) she gets 70% more blood. This build counters all those survivors who destroy grandpa now, as she almost always has over 100 blood on her. It makes these grapple bullies upset and its so satisfying to see them panic after a poison drops AND I get 40 blood extra after I lose a grapple, but its even sweeter when I win a grapple, grandpa's at level 2, and I can go and feed a massive amount to him

    They should bring back the 1 hit ko from the other family member during close encounter. That would solve the problem.
    But give a Iframe the moment the survivor wins the close encounter so the other fam can't 1 hit ko the survivors anymore
    That's the problem i had with it. Getting 1 hit ko after you already won.
    1 hit ko during the close encounter was fair game.

    victims should only have a 5% boost when it comes to close encounters, and when they lose they will lose 30HP and if they for example had 21HP and they lost the close encounter then they will insta die like usual

    From a story perspective it should not be possible for victims to win MULTIPLE close encounters against hands and johnny. Leland makes sense cause hes a wrestler. I think grappling should penalize victims stamina kinda like Connie’s ability at low levels

That could balance it more then it is cuz lord it really gets frustrating! Then the amount of time i as a family main have to just stand there looking off into space! This game needs to be alot more realistic and that just wouldnt happen, neither would a victim run towards a killer just to grapple them.. like come on man get serious!!! They are trying to ruin something good at this point i dont know how else to look at it.. and its sad! Because the game is fun and has/had so much potential
