If that speed boost is legit, I had the same thing happen to me. After losing a health state from the killer I had infinite SB. I had no idea what was going on, but it seemed like as long as I stayed in the killers TR I would have infinite SB. I let the killer hook me after for obvious reasons. I have the clip.
i love how at the first clip at the 1 minute mark, she says the wraith doesnt have any humor, when you can see that the wraith started spinning after uncloking and only after the spin, did he hit her, so the wraith in fact did have humor and she was just being dumb like most toxic gamers.

Been playing dbd since beta and I never had a glitch like that. I watched a lot of cheater vids tho and that glitch looked just like one of those cheats.

The person who said that is not wrong, it is pretty BS. It means you just auto lose as survivor with not even a chance to attempt to escape. The trapper cannot put traps all directly (EDIT: on top of) -around- a hooked survivor for that reason, so the exit gates should be the same, a small circle where you can't place traps directly on the switch.
@@NameIsDoc Disarming the trap tells him where you are, in which case you are dead to EGC or being hooked because you won't be able to escape from him once chase starts.

Trapper can be one of the easiest killers to survive against--as long you aren't running around like a total buffoon. Playing calmly against him is double advantageous as he can't see your tracks if you crouch-walk. I feel like Trapper was created specifically to exploit the average player's impulsivity and lack of patience, which is why playing as him is so much fun!
Especially since from what I've played of him so far, most Survivors know to disable his traps anyways. Most of the time playing Trapper is just running at the Survivors with a machete, and traps more often than not are pure luck if they get triggered
My only problem with trapper is his ability to place traps right next to a pallet/window so that you can't use it. Killers are, obviously, faster than survivors so sometimes the only choice you have is a pallet or a window. The game prevents you constantly using them over and over, and they're meant to be there for survivors to use to counter that additional speed, so being able to place them exactly where a survivor animation forces them to be rather than just a little outside of that spot seems a little unfair. People should be getting trapped for being unaware. Not because they're unable to avoid it. I've no problem with him trapping exit gates...they're super wide and a survivor can avoid them easily if they pay attention.
Regardless how her friends act now, they're still the lowest of the low. Imagine KNOWING your friend is cheating and still going along with it. Desperate pick-me energy is desperate. Absolute cockroaches.

fr i had a similar experience in a 4v4 game called shinobi strikers my friend turned to mods/cheats that let him instakill and stuff like that and i dropped him cuz i actually hate cheaters w a passion,it wasnt till after a year passed and he got banned that he got back in touch apologized and we played again w his shiny new bronze 1 acc with absolutely nothing lol,i think he reflected and is truly sorry abt what he did

Toxic survivors chased me off this game. Never have I played a game where I've experienced an opposition that's so entitled that they think they can dictate how players are SUPPOSED to play. I actually had one survivor tell me I'm supposed to let him have the hatch to be a good killer, or that I was tunneling when the survivor kept getting in my face the whole match and got mad I took him out. It's disgusting how they act.

She went on to say "they never said if it was for exploits or whatever" but yes they did lol. They didn't say exploit because it was a ban for third party software. From what I can tell, Shelly was cheating. I might have believed it was just a glitch, but the fact that she never mentions this when talking about her ban tells me that she's cheating. Also, her friends might not have known. She could've pretended it was a glitch with them, which would explain them distancing themselves from her after the discovery.
As someone who uses recolor perks and even costum potraits, I NEVER got banned! she is obviously lying and hiding the fact that she was caught cheating (probably more then once!) and got banned for that reason. i am also sad to know her friends played along with her when they knew from day one their own friend is a cheater but then defend her and lie about the reason of the ban. it's also interesting how she only decided to cheat when not live... ALSO if she did started playing when the game was 2 weeks old then why she still feel the need to cheat?
best part is behaviour made it pretty clear they welcome people who use apps such as Nightlight and love seeing the unique packs being made for the game lol
@@SoraGremory0121 This is actually misinformation. The official stance from bhvr is that anything manipulated in game files COULD result in a ban and all bans are irreversible. It is more of a look the other way approach. It is not up to BHVR to flag accounts for bans, that's easy anti-cheat's work every time you connect to a secure game server. The reason you don't see bans for perk icons and things like reshade are because it only hooks into your client side permissions and I would imagine EAC isn't programmed to flag stuff like that. But you should definitely understand that there is still a chance you could get banned, just unlikely. You can jaywalk in front of most cops and they wont give you a ticket, but the wrong cop on the wrong day, or a policy change towards jaywalking might get you in trouble. So do it at your own risk! (for context i use reshade and have used perk icon packs in the past)
@@percocetthirty While there is possibility of a ban, BHVR is aware of custom icons and usually when something is changing about them in more global scale, then they mention that custom icons may need to be reinstalled. Last time it happened was a long time ago, but they literally said that custom icons would require an update in order to work.
Pretty sure new players can just fall into that mindset easily if they already don't have the best mental in other games/ gets tilted easily. I have some friends who did this and they are generally just dog at most games they play, don't try to get better and blame everyone but themselves

I was a new player and had fun with the game with the little knowledge after coming back maybe 2 years after the launch of the game. I guess its part of who you play with and how you handle stuff cause I never blamed a person unless I could prove it was them. Like, sandbagging our teammates.

A day one player, and a *nearly brand new player from 2022 playing Ghostface* (me) kicked her ass. She DCed first down when I played against her... her and her friends had blind builds at the ready just HOPING for a baby M1 to bully, Unfortunately by the time I faced her, I was an expert Ghostface Main and destroyed them... because *they can't fucking mindgame and loop*. None of them can loop. Most entitled loser alive.

As a game developer (not for DBD) I love seeing people cry that they got banned by anticheat falsely. My thoughts and providing more insight to anticheat detection and how it works for people interested: 11:47 Of course they wouldn't give you information lol? That's how cheaters circumvent our anticheats... Completely defeats the purpose. And no, it wasn't perk recolor that triggered it, if the devs came out and said that perk recolor is okay, then it means they have specifically coded that exception into the anticheat and tested it rigorously using that modification so that it does not affect anything related to perk recolor. Spamming game developers with emails is an easy way to get them to ignore you. It's not that they don't see your emails, it's that they've seen your emails, quickly checked on what the anticheat found specifically pertaining to you that got you banned, and recognized that your claims of doing nothing wrong are BS because the type of detection that triggered the anti cheat ban doesn't align with your excuse. In any case there's no better way to turn customer support off of wanting to help you than being snarky or straight up rude, I tell my customer support to not bother with such people since they're a drag on my game's community anyway. Every time a game anticheat detects something and bans you, there is either a notification that comes through with your profile and the exact detection code or a note left on your profile of some type that tells us exactly what the anticheat detected. Meaning if it was perk recolor, it would show that clearly. That being said, some anticheats are significantly stronger than others, and so for example if you downloaded something like cheat engine to use in an unrelated offline game but you accidentally left it running in the background when launching my game, my anticheat would ban you for 3rd party software that manipulates the game, regardless of whether you were actually actively using cheat engine to cheat in my game or whether you just left it open. A few anticheats even go as far as to scan your computers files when you launch the game in the background to check for cheating software that you might have downloaded which I personally don't condone. Are there false positive anticheat detections? Absolutely. Especially if we add new physics related features without enough testing to check how much that might collide with how our anticheat is coded to detect cheats using calculations of physics on the server side. But these are very much edge cases. 99.9% of people who get banned were genuinely either cheating or had cheating software open. 15:20 Even if it somehow wasn't you playing on that account cheating at that time, you wouldn't be unbanned. Games that are account based typically have a clause in their terms (which I guarantee most of you, this streamer included, skip over entirely) that state that the owner of the account (you) are solely responsible for any actions that come from that account. 15:48 Spam reporting does not cause anti cheat to ban, common misconception many players have. When you report somebody for cheating in a game that has an anticheat, the anticheat temporarily flags an account as a potential cheater, queues another anticheat scan (we cannot really scan every player all the time because it isn't feasible, so we scan when they launch the game, and sometimes periodically, though cheating softwares can account for these scans to avoid detection), that anticheat scans and either finds something or doesn't. Sometimes it can take a few reports as cheating software coded reasonably well could evade certain types of detection but most of the time they'll be banned within a few days if they were cheating. Also, when you report somebody, the report attaches itself to that account specifically using an identifier of some sort other than the accounts username or nickname so people can't just spoof names, at least that's how it should be working. Even if somebody managed to take her name and get her falsely spam reported, as I explained above the anticheat would have to actually detect something on her end. If the reason they gave is as she said that a "flag" was placed on the account for "3rd party software" this generally means it was a ban given by anticheat detection and not manually by a game moderator/developer. 17:03 This speed could have been an animation or physics glitch of some type... If she was banned for this, she would have been banned for abnormal physics of some type though, not for 3rd party software, they are completely different bans. The anticheat could have picked up on increased speed and ran a scan to double check if it was a glitch or if it could be caused by 3rd party software. I don't think this clip had edited voice over, you can hear a keyboard stroke sound at 17:10 if you turn your volume up, it lines up with the character's sudden left movement. The lack of game sound and voice comms sound suggests that she has multiple audio channels and either muted the game and the voice comms on the recording (muting game sound makes no sense if you're recording/streaming gameplay though, unless she genuinely forgot to unmute them) or she has taken those additional audio channels out in post processing for some reason. 18:30 Yea it's as I explained above. Anti cheat detected, she contacted them claiming false ban, they looked at the anti cheat detection and went "yea, not exactly". 18:57 That friend was unhinged to even joke about that. As for her "legal action", she can try but they'll mop the floor with her in court using their terms of service that she didn't read but agreed to. Literally read any game company/social media terms of service before signing up, they all say they can permanently ban you for any reason they want and you agree to it because you cannot be bothered to read it. 19:30 They keep that information from you because cheat developers buy stolen accounts in bulk for dirt cheap, use their cheat on that account with the intention of getting banned, get banned, make a support ticket and ask what was flagged so they can use that information to improve their cheat. 20:16 Oh I didn't realise they use EAC. You really thought you'd win against EAC of all anticheats..? They're literally one of the most thorough anticheats out there.. Good job, 100 IQ. 21:14 Another player misconception. DBD is not a P2P (peer to peer) game, what this means is that DBD runs on dedicated servers, meaning all interactions are client > server > client or client > server. This means that if you run a cheat on your client, the only thing you can manipulate is your own client and the information that your client sends to the server, meaning you cannot give cheats to other players because you cannot communicate with their client directly. If this was a P2P game where the server is ran off of one of the player's computers then it would be client > client connection and you may be able to do such things as grab another player's IP, or manipulate their client in some way. If DBD is coded correctly in this aspect it would be impossible for one client to give another client cheats since it would all run through the server. Sorry for long comment, thought that somebody interested in this side of things may enjoy the read or learn something they didn't know but it was quite fun to look at and type.
Even without all the sound, her voice is a dead giveaway. The way she sounds suggest something that she very well knows about. Also, Ive seen plenty of glitches, none of them have ever increased speed to that degree.
@@Promethe3u5 I did have that happen to me once while running Sprint Burst, but it's super rare. I have never had it happen again. IT DOES NOT JUST RADOMLY HAPPEN COMMONLY. It also doesn't give you quite that much speed.

The problem is that too many people don't know when to stop shaming. There's countless times where people have had their real damn address leaked over a game and that's just not okay because there's absolutely people insane enough to follow that address and committ real crimes. If everyone on the internet just kept it to trash talking and exiled people from whatever community they're in, then yeah I'd have no problem with shaming cheaters.

I'm very curious about the difference between flocking the hook and "every one of my team went in to try to save the survivor." Like... you don’t need 3 people to get one off the hook. (It's almost as if the others *flocked* to the hook to get the save.) If all 4 survivors are in one place, the killer has no reason to be anywhere else. Simple.

The glitch actually existed, but it required Lithe. You got hit, and you would zoom. There is a good chance that it might have triggered on all exhaustion perks too. However, then one more issue still remains: She exploited it massively by doing something she wasnt nearly capable of doing without it. Even with DH, Trickster would have caught up before she even reached the central hallway. Besides that, 1 instance does not get you banned. 1 instance can be a false flag which happens to literally everyone having more than 1000 hours. A quick note here, flags disappear over time(possibly linked to hours played, or real-time days, or a mix of both). They can also be manually looked into if there is spare time for it and manually removed. 2 instances could be 2 false flags, but is extremely rare and still given the benefit of the doubt. 3 instances could be 3 false flags, but that is exponentially more rare than 2 false flags and chances are slim. It's at this point where your case gets priority and is being reviewed manually. If any flag can be guaranteed to be a cheat(like actual teleportation shown through a video), its an instaban. If all flags are very likely to be a cheat, your flags will be deemed as accurate and the next flag you recieve will be a ban. If all flags could be glitches, they will remove 2 of your flags and deem 1 flag as accurate. EAC has a few instances where they can bypass normal flags and deem them accurate, like teleporting around the map. This does not auto-ban anyone, but it does shoot up to the top of the priority list within seconds.
Its not even the exact moment it happened she was on the other side map when she got hit when she starts talking about it being a glitch she would have noticed a "glitch" a lot sooner

about the part where you said you think she convinced herself she didn't actually cheat... you're spot on. back when I used to play DBD an ex friend of mine told me he was thinking of installing cheats just to unlock cosmetics he believed he deserved because it was bullshit they were exclusive (according to him). he proceeded to install cheats and I told him before, and after "don't do it, you've got like 2k hours and you're going to get banned immediately". I think it was within 3 days he got banned and was devastated. he also cheated on a brand new account but made the mistake of family sharing to his proper one, so just dumb decisions all around. I also told him he wasn't as smart as he thought he was doing that but he refused to listen. after he got banned he got extremely upset and it slowly morphed from "I just installed cosmetics" to "I didn't use proper cheats" to "I didn't do anything wrong, all I did was family share". he currently has a steam review which is a fake sob story about getting unfairly banned with a lot of responses. with the essay he wrote for his steam review I honestly think he convinced himself he did nothing wrong either, which is just sad behaviour. I know the truth lol. edit: I just found the review again and a comment there also suggest he probably just got banned for perk icons which i remember he also latched on to after that. it's so funny how all the people that cheat use the same excuses lol. i also forgot in his review he mentioned he streamed (implying evidence of cheating would be on stream), yet he absolutely didn't stream himself doing any of it. the similarities are uncanny
The fact of the matter is this: Shelly (and her friends?) cheat against Killers that, in their mind, "deserve it" because of "lame tactics" like "camping and tunneling." They KNOW that they were cheating, but they believed that they were *in the right* to do so. And, so, they would defend it with these lies, because they saw it as the greater good. A lie to protect their status as "BRINGERS OF JUSTICE!" And the friends that eventually stopped supporting her, basically... finally realized that Shelly would take that twisted logic as far as she needed to in order to never be the one in the wrong. Including turning on her own friends, if need be. It's a classic tale of a total lack of accountability. If she loses, it's because the Killer was a filthy campertunnelerslugger. So she gets tired of believing that every loss is due to the opponent "cheating," in her mind. So she downloads cheats of her own. And, thus, every time she cheated with a *program,* it was fair game, because the Killer cheated first... by "facecamping."

hundreds of people use perk recolors.. there's so many artists who do commissions and even big streamers use them. no way she would get banned for that. her faking a voiceover for the cheating clip to make it seem like she was glitched was one of the cringiest things i've seen in this community.
They obviously are not going to tell people what hacks/exploits they were using that got them banned because, like you said, they do not want to tell hackers anything that could potentially help them dodge their anti-cheat software. It's a common practice for most companies. Shelly just needs to accept that she will never get her other account back, and odds are, she'll get banned on the second account for ban evading.
As someone who's been in BHVR's situation of dealing with cheaters who deny it, spamming staff is the last thing you wanna do. Even if it seems like a robot, a human is attached and spamming will be annoying and get you added to a list of people to ignore and not even read what you have to say, especially if you're given a confirmation that the decision is final.

Just because most of us who use the recolors are fine doesn't mean they're immune to detection, and BHVR's been clear that if EAC detects file interference and triggers the ban they won't help you recover your account. Someone I used to SWF with did get banned specifically for using recolored portraits - we were able to even figure out which file did him in - and while he's in the vast minority, he's not the only one. She's clearly lying, sure, but I feel like it's important to recognize that there's extant risk with even minor mods; especially with the crappy EAC license BHVR has.

@@T.BG822 The edit to make the prestige catch up is probably what caused the ban as a "hack to increase progression", likely had zero to do with the recoloring. If you edit any frames then yes, of course EAC would catch the slight difference.

The cheaters always crack me up. EAC is not randomly going to trigger a ban for no reason. They've done something to their OS or game files to cause the ban. Or they're running a program/script that EAC doesn't like.
When I was playing PoE for the first time, I got auto banned the instant I hit level 67. I emailed them and they confirmed it was a false positive and unbanned me, however they did tell me they couldn't disclose what flagged it. But my point is, if it's an actual false positive you will get unbanned 99.9% of the time.

It happens every time though. Had it happen when I was playing clown. Put one in basement in treatment center in the brown room. As I’m going up stairs I heard one drop down behind me via window. So of course I knock him and out in hook while I’m doing that another person runs in with the fourth just up the stairs. I ended up with three in basement and fourth running away. Whom I found shortly after. Endgame chat was literally them whining about me camping when it was them who zerged basement before I could even leave.

There are 3 out of 4 survivors alive showing up to the hook, from the middle, in the open, not even sneaking to it, and you want the killer to what, just go f*ck himself in a corner or something ??" A LOT of people completely lack common sense, and it shows so much in any games that require just a little bit of thinking and strategising. It's crazy. I remember even when I had just a few hundreds hours in the game, it was a Bubba, 1 gen left to do, all 3 gens were kind of nearby (not a tight 3-gens but still a pretty decent one), one person got downed and hooked in the middle of the 3 gens, in the open, and the other survivors were fuming endgame because he was camping and insulted him. I was just like "He can see and defend all gens from standing at the hook, why would he leave ?!" It just seemed so logical to me, but those people were so pissed off. And I regularly see people triggered about that. It's like they think the other person shouldn't be trying to win or something ? I don't get it.
Dbd is more of the same kind of people that are really invested in souls and take everything too serious. If you don't play by their imagined "rules" they throw a temper tantrum like a child and try to ruin or grief your game because the world does not stop turning for them.

Funny story: During last years Christmas event i jumped into a Snowman right as the Spirit was swinging on me. it broke me out of the Snowman, but it made me 100% INVINCIBLE. i couldn't be attacked at ALL. i was being swiped through by her Sword, i was COMPLETELY Invincible. this was a Bug. cause i HATE Cheaters and Cheating. i stood there acting Confused to the Spirit, because i rightfully was, as was the Spirit. but did i scream "WOOHOO!! IM INVINCIBLE!" and run to the Exit gate??? I SURE AS FUCK DIDN'T! i stood there and let the end game collapse take me. then i told the Spirit i had NO IDEA wtf happened, and was not. was NOT going to let a BUG or otherwise screw him/her out of a Kill. THEN i went DIRECTLY to BHVR and reported the Bug and told them everything i COULD about what happened, which they was actually VERY happy i did. did i get banned for it? ABSOLUTELY NOT. If what she is saying was true, WHY Abuse a Bug she KNEW was a Bug so she could escape and get the Hatch? her sense of fair play went out the fucking window and she somehow felt "Fuck the Killer, the Bug Magically helped me win so i deserved it"?? No. Fuck her! if you willingly use an exploit plan or otherwise you're abusing a Cheat regardless. so EITHER WAY SHE *STILL DESERVED THE BAN!*

Because you're a good human. I once as Ghostface had a pretty decent round against a random and three SWFing Steves, where I got the random out at about 3 gens left, but while chasing one of the Steves I somehow Coup de Grace lunged off the balcony on Ormond onto a rock and then couldn't get down from said rock - but Steve could. I was trapped. The Steve was in SWF and ran off to find his friends, and when they all got over there and realized what happened, they saw me trapped swinging and spinning trying to escape and realized I had a collision glitch. They also realized that maybe if they could animation-lock me they could get me out because I was almost out just moving around. So they all started blinding me with the flashlights to push me off the rock from the stun animation (because Ghostface's stun animation makes him stumble back and hold his hands up a second, then shake his head) and slowly managed to make it work as I slowly moved myself back bit by bit. After a couple minutes I got off the rock and could move again and I just started teabag-spamming in sheer joy and swinging my knife and spinning, and they all started to do it too. I let all three of them go and the endgame chat was super nice. Thank you three man flashlight Steve squad.
Honestly, when cheaters are caught cheating, and banned for it, if they keep up this attitude of "Oh I didn't do anything" "Oh, they're wrong, I'm messaging them about it, bla bla bla..." The developers should just straight up make the evidence and the cheating public. If they can't provide evidence, then there might be something to it, while if there IS evidence, then everyone else can have a good, old fashioned humiliation laugh.

I recently had a dumbass TTV, they assumed I streamed sniped which I didn’t and was like why do ppl come into my stream after a game. And I was like well why have ur username be ur twitch account, like who would have that and not expect someone jointing their stream 🤦🏻. Like ppl get so upset and act like babies after losing.
If I'm playing survivor while I'm live, getting stream sniped is a possibility I'm willing to deal with. If they tunnel me out I'm just like "Hahaha what did I doooo?" then I just laugh about it, move on to next.

If that speed boost is legit, I had the same thing happen to me. After losing a health state from the killer I had infinite SB. I had no idea what was going on, but it seemed like as long as I stayed in the killers TR I would have infinite SB. I let the killer hook me after for obvious reasons. I have the clip.

The person who said that is not wrong, it is pretty BS. It means you just auto lose as survivor with not even a chance to attempt to escape. The trapper cannot put traps all directly (EDIT: on top of) -around- a hooked survivor for that reason, so the exit gates should be the same, a small circle where you can't place traps directly on the switch.

As someone who used to main Trapper, I absolutely HATE it when survivors act like he needs to be nerfed. Trapper can be one of the easiest killers to survive against--as long you aren't running around like a total buffoon. Playing calmly against him is double advantageous as he can't see your tracks if you crouch-walk. I feel like Trapper was created specifically to exploit the average player's impulsivity and lack of patience, which is why playing as him is so much fun!
Especially since from what I've played of him so far, most Survivors know to disable his traps anyways. Most of the time playing Trapper is just running at the Survivors with a machete, and traps more often than not are pure luck if they get triggered
You don't even NEED to disable his traps, if they're not PERFECTLY placed, you can run around it while the Trapper steps on it

My only problem with trapper is his ability to place traps right next to a pallet/window so that you can't use it. Killers are, obviously, faster than survivors so sometimes the only choice you have is a pallet or a window. The game prevents you constantly using them over and over, and they're meant to be there for survivors to use to counter that additional speed, so being able to place them exactly where a survivor animation forces them to be rather than just a little outside of that spot seems a little unfair. People should be getting trapped for being unaware. Not because they're unable to avoid it. I've no problem with him trapping exit gates...they're super wide and a survivor can avoid them easily if they pay attention.
Regardless how her friends act now, they're still the lowest of the low. Imagine KNOWING your friend is cheating and still going along with it. Desperate pick-me energy is desperate. Absolute cockroaches.

Actually they did tell her. It was due to use of Third party software. She just doesn't realise this is the actual reason and is what triggered the ban. She went on to say "they never said if it was for exploits or whatever" but yes they did lol. They didn't say exploit because it was a ban for third party software. She's just a moron who doesn't realise that. Just wanted to point out though they did infact give her a reason, and the reason hilariously is what makes it obvious she is full blown cheating.

@@SoraGremory0121 This is actually misinformation. The official stance from bhvr is that anything manipulated in game files COULD result in a ban and all bans are irreversible. It is more of a look the other way approach. It is not up to BHVR to flag accounts for bans, that's easy anti-cheat's work every time you connect to a secure game server. The reason you don't see bans for perk icons and things like reshade are because it only hooks into your client side permissions and I would imagine EAC isn't programmed to flag stuff like that. But you should definitely understand that there is still a chance you could get banned, just unlikely. You can jaywalk in front of most cops and they wont give you a ticket, but the wrong cop on the wrong day, or a policy change towards jaywalking might get you in trouble. So do it at your own risk! (for context i use reshade and have used perk icon packs in the past)
@@percocetthirty While there is possibility of a ban, BHVR is aware of custom icons and usually when something is changing about them in more global scale, then they mention that custom icons may need to be reinstalled. Last time it happened was a long time ago, but they literally said that custom icons would require an update in order to work.

I was a new player and had fun with the game with the little knowledge after coming back maybe 2 years after the launch of the game. As a game developer (not for DBD) I love seeing people cry that they got banned by anticheat falsely. My thoughts and providing more insight to anticheat detection and how it works for people interested:
11:47 Of course they wouldn't give you information lol? That's how cheaters circumvent our anticheats... Completely defeats the purpose.
And no, it wasn't perk recolor that triggered it, if the devs came out and said that perk recolor is okay, then it means they have specifically coded that exception into the anticheat and tested it rigorously using that modification so that it does not affect anything related to perk recolor.
Spamming game developers with emails is an easy way to get them to ignore you. It's not that they don't see your emails, it's that they've seen your emails, quickly checked on what the anticheat found specifically pertaining to you that got you banned, and recognized that your claims of doing nothing wrong are BS because the type of detection that triggered the anti cheat ban doesn't align with your excuse. In any case there's no better way to turn customer support off of wanting to help you than being snarky or straight up rude, I tell my customer support to not bother with such people since they're a drag on my game's community anyway.
Every time a game anticheat detects something and bans you, there is either a notification that comes through with your profile and the exact detection code or a note left on your profile of some type that tells us exactly what the anticheat detected. Meaning if it was perk recolor, it would show that clearly.
That being said, some anticheats are significantly stronger than others, and so for example if you downloaded something like cheat engine to use in an unrelated offline game but you accidentally left it running in the background when launching my game, my anticheat would ban you for 3rd party software that manipulates the game, regardless of whether you were actually actively using cheat engine to cheat in my game or whether you just left it open. A few anticheats even go as far as to scan your computers files when you launch the game in the background to check for cheating software that you might have downloaded which I personally don't condone.
Are there false positive anticheat detections? Absolutely. Especially if we add new physics related features without enough testing to check how much that might collide with how our anticheat is coded to detect cheats using calculations of physics on the server side. But these are very much edge cases. 99.9% of people who get banned were genuinely either cheating or had cheating software open.
15:20 Even if it somehow wasn't you playing on that account cheating at that time, you wouldn't be unbanned. Games that are account based typically have a clause in their terms (which I guarantee most of you, this streamer included, skip over entirely) that state that the owner of the account (you) are solely responsible for any actions that come from that account.
15:48 Spam reporting does not cause anti cheat to ban, common misconception many players have. When you report somebody for cheating in a game that has an anticheat, the anticheat temporarily flags an account as a potential cheater, queues another anticheat scan (we cannot really scan every player all the time because it isn't feasible, so we scan when they launch the game, and sometimes periodically, though cheating softwares can account for these scans to avoid detection), that anticheat scans and either finds something or doesn't. Sometimes it can take a few reports as cheating software coded reasonably well could evade certain types of detection but most of the time they'll be banned within a few days if they were cheating. Also, when you report somebody, the report attaches itself to that account specifically using an identifier of some sort other than the accounts username or nickname so people can't just spoof names, at least that's how it should be working. Even if somebody managed to take her name and get her falsely spam reported, as I explained above the anticheat would have to actually detect something on her end.
If the reason they gave is as she said that a "flag" was placed on the account for "3rd party software" this generally means it was a ban given by anticheat detection and not manually by a game moderator/developer.
17:03 This speed could have been an animation or physics glitch of some type... If she was banned for this, she would have been banned for abnormal physics of some type though, not for 3rd party software, they are completely different bans. The anticheat could have picked up on increased speed and ran a scan to double check if it was a glitch or if it could be caused by 3rd party software.
I don't think this clip had edited voice over, you can hear a keyboard stroke sound at 17:10 if you turn your volume up, it lines up with the character's sudden left movement. The lack of game sound and voice comms sound suggests that she has multiple audio channels and either muted the game and the voice comms on the recording (muting game sound makes no sense if you're recording/streaming gameplay though, unless she genuinely forgot to unmute them) or she has taken those additional audio channels out in post processing for some reason.

21:14 Another player misconception. DBD is not a P2P (peer to peer) game, what this means is that DBD runs on dedicated servers, meaning all interactions are client > server > client or client > server. This means that if you run a cheat on your client, the only thing you can manipulate is your own client and the information that your client sends to the server, meaning you cannot give cheats to other players because you cannot communicate with their client directly. If this was a P2P game where the server is ran off of one of the player's computers then it would be client > client connection and you may be able to do such things as grab another player's IP, or manipulate their client in some way. If DBD is coded correctly in this aspect it would be impossible for one client to give another client cheats since it would all run through the server.
Sorry for long comment, thought that somebody interested in this side of things may enjoy the read or learn something they didn't know but it was quite fun to look at and type.

There was an infinite sprint burst glitch. I’ve heard it still exists but it is extremely rare. BUT you have to running Sprint Burst and she wasn’t.

The glitch actually existed, but it required Lithe. You got hit, and you would zoom. There is a good chance that it might have triggered on all exhaustion perks too.
However, then one more issue still remains:
She exploited it massively by doing something she wasnt nearly capable of doing without it. Even with DH, Trickster would have caught up before she even reached the central hallway.
Besides that, 1 instance does not get you banned.
1 instance can be a false flag which happens to literally everyone having more than 1000 hours.
A quick note here, flags disappear over time(possibly linked to hours played, or real-time days, or a mix of both). They can also be manually looked into if there is spare time for it and manually removed.
2 instances could be 2 false flags, but is extremely rare and still given the benefit of the doubt.
3 instances could be 3 false flags, but that is exponentially more rare than 2 false flags and chances are slim. It's at this point where your case gets priority and is being reviewed manually.
If any flag can be guaranteed to be a cheat(like actual teleportation shown through a video), its an instaban.
If all flags are very likely to be a cheat, your flags will be deemed as accurate and the next flag you recieve will be a ban.
If all flags could be glitches, they will remove 2 of your flags and deem 1 flag as accurate.
EAC has a few instances where they can bypass normal flags and deem them accurate, like teleporting around the map. This does not auto-ban anyone, but it does shoot up to the top of the priority list within seconds.

about the part where you said you think she convinced herself she didn't actually cheat... you're spot on. back when I used to play DBD an ex friend of mine told me he was thinking of installing cheats just to unlock cosmetics he believed he deserved because it was bullshit they were exclusive (according to him). he proceeded to install cheats and I told him before, and after "don't do it, you've got like 2k hours and you're going to get banned immediately". I think it was within 3 days he got banned and was devastated. he also cheated on a brand new account but made the mistake of family sharing to his proper one, so just dumb decisions all around. I also told him he wasn't as smart as he thought he was doing that but he refused to listen. after he got banned he got extremely upset and it slowly morphed from "I just installed cosmetics" to "I didn't use proper cheats" to "I didn't do anything wrong, all I did was family share". he currently has a steam review which is a fake sob story about getting unfairly banned with a lot of responses. with the essay he wrote for his steam review I honestly think he convinced himself he did nothing wrong either, which is just sad behaviour. I know the truth lol. edit: I just found the review again and a comment there also suggest he probably just got banned for perk icons which i remember he also latched on to after that. it's so funny how all the people that cheat use the same excuses lol. i also forgot in his review he mentioned he streamed (implying evidence of cheating would be on stream), yet he absolutely didn't stream himself doing any of it. the similarities are uncanny

Shelly (and her friends?) cheat against Killers that, in their mind, "deserve it" because of "lame tactics" like "camping and tunneling." They KNOW that they were cheating, but they believed that they were *in the right* to do so. And, so, they would defend it with these lies, because they saw it as the greater good. A lie to protect their status as "BRINGERS OF JUSTICE!"
And the friends that eventually stopped supporting her, basically... finally realized that Shelly would take that twisted logic as far as she needed to in order to never be the one in the wrong. Including turning on her own friends, if need be.

They obviously are not going to tell people what hacks/exploits they were using that got them banned because, like you said, they do not want to tell hackers anything that could potentially help them dodge their anti-cheat software. It's a common practice for most companies. Shelly just needs to accept that she will never get her other account back, and odds are, she'll get banned on the second account for ban evading.
As someone who's been in BHVR's situation of dealing with cheaters who deny it, spamming staff is the last thing you wanna do. Even if it seems like a robot, a human is attached and spamming will be annoying and get you added to a list of people to ignore and not even read what you have to say, especially if you're given a confirmation that the decision is final.

Just because most of us who use the recolors are fine doesn't mean they're immune to detection, and BHVR's been clear that if EAC detects file interference and triggers the ban they won't help you recover your account. Someone I used to SWF with did get banned specifically for using recolored portraits - we were able to even figure out which file did him in - and while he's in the vast minority, he's not the only one.
She's clearly lying, sure, but I feel like it's important to recognize that there's extant risk with even minor mods; especially with the crappy EAC license BHVR has.
If EAC bans you for file interference on cosmetics. Then the interference was not just cosmetic.

Not much more to it than that. My buddy and I found the file which triggered EAC when we dumped the EAC logs, which are stored locally during startup - it was one of the ones he'd edited, one out of the animated frames for the prestige catchup system.
@@T.BG822 The edit to make the prestige catch up is probably what caused the ban as a "hack to increase progression", likely had zero to do with the recoloring. If you edit any frames then yes, of course EAC would catch the slight difference.

The cheaters always crack me up. EAC is not randomly going to trigger a ban for no reason. They've done something to their OS or game files to cause the ban. Or they're running a program/script that EAC doesn't like.
EAC has only a few instances where it can trigger a ban. But all other bans have been manually reviewed by someone.

When I was playing PoE for the first time, I got auto banned the instant I hit level 67. I emailed them and they confirmed it was a false positive and unbanned me, however they did tell me they couldn't disclose what flagged it. But my point is, if it's an actual false positive you will get unbanned 99.9% of the time.

So of course I knock him and out in hook while I’m doing that another person runs in with the fourth just up the stairs. I ended up with three in basement and fourth running away. A LOT of people completely lack common sense, and it shows so much in any games that require just a little bit of thinking and strategising. It's crazy.
I remember even when I had just a few hundreds hours in the game, it was a Bubba, 1 gen left to do, all 3 gens were kind of nearby (not a tight 3-gens but still a pretty decent one), one person got downed and hooked in the middle of the 3 gens, in the open, and the other survivors were fuming endgame because he was camping and insulted him. I was just like "He can see and defend all gens from standing at the hook, why would he leave ?!" It just seemed so logical to me, but those people were so pissed off.
And I regularly see people triggered about that. It's like they think the other person shouldn't be trying to win or something ? I don't get it.

The people that are pathetic enough to cheat are the same type of people that would do all of the other gross things typically associated with those sort, it's never a surprise.
The entitlement of these people. Ridiculous. They are adults, they should act like it, not like children throwing a temper tantrum.

Funny story: During last years Christmas event i jumped into a Snowman right as the Spirit was swinging on me. it broke me out of the Snowman, but it made me 100% INVINCIBLE. i couldn't be attacked at ALL. i was being swiped through by her Sword, i was COMPLETELY Invincible. this was a Bug. cause i HATE Cheaters and Cheating. i stood there acting Confused to the Spirit, because i rightfully was, as was the Spirit. but did i scream "WOOHOO!! IM INVINCIBLE!" and run to the Exit gate??? I SURE AS FUCK DIDN'T! i stood there and let the end game collapse take me. then i told the Spirit i had NO IDEA wtf happened, and was not. was NOT going to let a BUG or otherwise screw him/her out of a Kill. THEN i went DIRECTLY to BHVR and reported the Bug and told them everything i COULD about what happened, which they was actually VERY happy i did. did i get banned for it? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
If what she is saying was true, WHY Abuse a Bug she KNEW was a Bug so she could escape and get the Hatch? her sense of fair play went out the fucking window and she somehow felt "Fuck the Killer, the Bug Magically helped me win so i deserved it"?? No. Fuck her! if you willingly use an exploit plan or otherwise you're abusing a Cheat regardless. so EITHER WAY SHE *STILL DESERVED THE BAN!*

As fantastic as your feel good story is, a surprise glitch that gives you a win, isn't cheating. Save the venom for those that use actual cheats and bend the laws of digital reality to their whims.

I once as Ghostface had a pretty decent round against a random and three SWFing Steves, where I got the random out at about 3 gens left, but while chasing one of the Steves I somehow Coup de Grace lunged off the balcony on Ormond onto a rock and then couldn't get down from said rock - but Steve could. I was trapped. The Steve was in SWF and ran off to find his friends, and when they all got over there and realized what happened, they saw me trapped swinging and spinning trying to escape and realized I had a collision glitch. They also realized that maybe if they could animation-lock me they could get me out because I was almost out just moving around.
So they all started blinding me with the flashlights to push me off the rock from the stun animation (because Ghostface's stun animation makes him stumble back and hold his hands up a second, then shake his head) and slowly managed to make it work as I slowly moved myself back bit by bit. After a couple minutes I got off the rock and could move again and I just started teabag-spamming in sheer joy and swinging my knife and spinning, and they all started to do it too.
I let all three of them go and the endgame chat was super nice. Thank you three man flashlight Steve squad.
funny to re-watch this again. Step 1: get re-shaders, step 2: use cheats, step 3: if banned, blame the re-shaders and cry innocent!

Honestly, when cheaters are caught cheating, and banned for it, if they keep up this attitude of "Oh I didn't do anything" "Oh, they're wrong, I'm messaging them about it, bla bla bla..." The developers should just straight up make the evidence and the cheating public. If they can't provide evidence, then there might be something to it, while if there IS evidence, then everyone else can have a good, old fashioned humiliation laugh.

I recently had a dumbass TTV, they assumed I streamed sniped which I didn’t and was like why do ppl come into my stream after a game. And I was like well why have ur username be ur twitch account, like who would have that and not expect someone jointing their stream 🤦🏻. Like ppl get so upset and act like babies after losing.
It's like if you beat them ingame they take it as a personnal insult.

If I'm playing survivor while I'm live, getting stream sniped is a possibility I'm willing to deal with. If they tunnel me out I'm just like "Hahaha what did I doooo?" then I just laugh about it, move on to next.

Oof the clip she sent you with only her VO is very sketchy and I got 2nd hand embarrassment from it, frankly. I hope she does learn a lesson from it because if I got my very pricey account deleted just for hatch, I'd be defeated and never play again. Much less stream it again.

EDIT: you know what i find interesting about the email at 18:31? it specifically states that using 3rd party software AND exploiting errors within the system violate the EULA. which means anyone who was caught abusing the locker exploits have cause for being banned too. BHVR aint playing around with this, everyone signed the same agreement when they purchased the game.
