Glad your family is safe and the truck can be saved. If the fire was any bigger or burnt longer that sheet metal might have not been workable. Appears to be cosmetic damage and I would probably replace all hoses/belts and anything rubber
Hey man, I am really sorry to learn that this happened to you and your family. Your resilience in the face of adversity is beyond what I can put into words. I was just watching the u-joint/ bellhousing video before going out to drop the driveshaft from my 67 LSD200 Sweptline (same thing happened to my rear u-joint, but that seems to be the extent of the trouble), and walking past the computer with my coffee saw this and took a double take. Having seen what you're capable of, I have no doubts about the future of your Sweptline. Everyone is okay, that's what really matters. And, the old saying, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" leaves me confident that, just like your truck, you and your family's home will be reborn better than ever. I'm not one to comment on many things other than a "Thank You" or something related to the content I am studying, but it's 8:30 am Sunday, March 27th here in West Palm and you and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers as I get under my '67 to pull my driveshaft. Your attitude is amazing; I'm going to confront the obstacles that lie ahead for my wife, two boys and I in the next 3-4 months with a renewed vigor because of you.
I'm so sorry for your loss.. this brought back bad memories for me about 6 years ago I lost everything to a house fire. I didn't have insurance like an idiot because I was one of these people who said oh that will never happen to me..
yikes yeah hopefully all goes well with insurance. I had the truck parked for awhile because of the bellhousing issue. I am glad I kept the insurance on it even though I wasn't driving it
@@floyds.mayhem.garage I hope everything works out for you. And you are able to get a house and fix the truck. Was any other cars damaged from the fire?
Floyd's I hope everyone at home is fine and there was only minor material damage and a strong scare. You'll get over this soon, cheer up friend.. ! Hug.!!
Damn man..huge fan here. I’m sorry to hear about the fire. Looking at pics of the truck makes me sick to my stomach. I hope the Chargers weren’t damaged and glad to hear you’re ok!
Man so sorry this happened to you been a long time fan of yours and love your work...good thing no one was hurt... I understand how you feel had a fire take out about 3k of tools and parts I was lucky to get it out. Cause by a bad fan cord that shorted... Hope you can save as much as you can.
Oh my God Floyd! I can’t believe what I’m seeing. Your home, your truck! Is everyone safe? What a tragedy. So sorry this happened to you sir. I will pray for you and your family. Man! Shocking. Big Al.
Floyd, I wish you and your family the best! Here in the TX Panhandle I see a lot of people that loose there homes due to wild fires, I have seen first hand what it can do! It may not seem like it but you and your family are fortunate to be able to walk away with some of what you had most people do not get that lucky.
yikes yeah we see a lot of wild fires our here too near the mountains or even brush fires. they cause lots of damage. I'm glad the fire was put out when it was another 10 mins and I might not be rebuilding this truck
That's one tough truck. I'm sure the Adjuster killed it but it looks salvageable. I'm more concerned with Earnie & Lisa. This really sucks. May God have mercy on them.
Hope everybody made it through the house fire fine and dude it sucks but on a positive note the truck isn't completely destroyed just need some deep deep cleaning don't know how bad your house is hope everything turns out okay
Thanks man! mostly just focusing on getting my dad set up and then power back in the shop. sounds like that might be a few weeks for the power company to set up some alternate power for the shop and water.
how dare I build a hot rod, its terrible that this thing now handles better, stops better, and is faster than it was before. the body roll, 4 wheel manual drum brakes and manual steering was sufficient enough, there's no reason to run highway speed and feel safe while doing so
Sorry to hear that man...

Thank god everyone is ok and the 68 will ride again! Now she’s just even more special!
That sucks about the house and belongings. Glad everyone is ok.

Lowering a classic dodge truck should earn everybody that does that several kicks in the nuts. It aint a freaking sedan.
