  • Got a few upgrades for my Rlaarlo AK-917 and since it´s a rainy day here in munich i decided to put them in.
There´s no running footage in this clip though. Will test speeds as soon as i find the time for that.
    I got me:
    - the sliding motor-mount
    - aluminium wheelcarriers front and back
    - a 52t metal spurgear
    - a motor-cooler
    - some contact foam-tires
Sorry for doing essentially just a slideshow of the process but i think it´s still a pretty good step-by-step instruction that might help someone out.
Everything went pretty good and i really took my time with it. The only big letdown were the missing screws for the front hubs and Rlaarlo should really include everything you need to put an upgrade part on the car. It´s little things like this and the customer-support that doesn´t answer to people that makes lot´s of people quite angry.
Personally i like the car and i can´t wait to see how the changes will wake her up. Still i have to do some adjustements before heading out:
    - need to trim the bodysupport in the rear because it will destroy the tires
    - i need to check the front shocks because it seems there´s no oil in them
    - gotta put some velro on the body to hold it on the chassis
    - and i need to lower the car in the front
    - i might put the wings i got from the presale on at one point
Anyways, i wish everyone out there a happy sunday and a good time.
    Cheers my friends

i got similar tires and extensions. I guess first thing is to delete the fake rotor/ calipers. Thanks for showing the parts and build. easy to see and understand

Thank you, much appreciated. Yeah, the fake rotors are a nice scale-detail but i´ven seen some guys having problems with them at high speeds and after crashes. On mine i haven´t had them since they are only on the carbon-fibre-versions and i "only" have the metal brushless one. Can´t wait to see what she can do now. I´m not a speedrun guy, more of a basher and crawler, so this thing is pretty exciting :). Wish you an awesome day and lots of fun with yours.

Thanks a lot brother and a big thanks for the sub also 🤗🙏🙏. Naturally i returned the favour. Also i just realized it´s been your clips on the AK-917 that inspired this little guide and that helped me quite a bit when the parts finally arrived since i remembered how you did it. So thanks for that. Have good one, keep up the good work and enjoy the hobby 🤜🤛🤘

thanks a lot :). Yeah, i think some of them are really needed. Especially the sliding motor-mount is a must imho. Seen some guys getting crazy speeds out of it. That´s not what i am aiming for but i want to get it over 100kph which would be quite a success for me personally ^^. Have a good one 🤜🤛🤘

Put a flat spot on the shaft and stick a 34t mod1 gear on it. Then put a 32t mod1 pinion on the motor. Easy 150mph

thanks for the tipp 🤗🙏. Yeah, i´ve seen some people do that and it seems to work really well. I think i would need at least a 4s system inside for that 🤔. I would be happy to see it do over 100kmh at least. For everything above i wouldn´t find the place to run it anyways 😂. Have a good one 🤜🤛

This car appears to be a hybrid. Meaning it has 1/8 scale differentials and drive cups. How does it tour?

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🤗🙏🙏. Yeah, everything seems to be put together quite well and the diffs definitely look bigger than 1/10 scale. I only had her out for three times now and i have to fix her since she had hit a curb last time but nothing serious broke. Just have to find the time to get her up and running again. She´s definitely a lot of fun to drive. I won´t brake any records with it but i want to get a pb out of her with the stock 3s-system in there 🤗. Have a good one 🤜🤛

what part did you trim in the back for the tires to work? or did you trim the tires?

    • @Lod3runn3r
      @Lod3runn3r  Год назад

hi, thanks for watching 🤗🙏🙏. At 6:02 you see the parts (the little thing that´s part of the body-support) which will cut into the tires when the shocks are compressed. I will trim them down with a dremel. Also i will stiffen the rear shocks up as much as possible and maybe i´ll reduce the amount of travel depending on how she handles. Still haven´t found the time to take her out but i hope to get that done soon. Have a good one and enjoy your sunday 🤜🤛

Nice work for new people. May I know what is the perfect pass on your car and advise me where to get it? Thank you.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🤗🙏🙏. I haven´t installed a perfect pass on it but the gyro that´s in there looks a bit like one. I was thinking about putting one in but i will turn her into a parking-lot-basher so i don´t really feel the need for it. From what i´ve seen you could get one from amazon for about 80 bucks. I still have to repair her to see what she can do on the stock electronics on 3s since she hit a curb on the last run and i wasn´t able to check that speed. Hope to get her up and running again soon. Have a good one 🤜🤛🤘

@@Lod3runn3r thank you very much. I just order 6 cars brushless carbon fiber chassis for me and my friends to enjoy. First we plan to use the optional motor mount and a set of gear 52-45 to see with 3s then 4s lipo.
Thank you for your time answering me. Have a good time!

@@donghoang403 dang, that sounds awesome 👌💯. Yeah, the sliding motor mount or something similar is definitely a must. And i guess 4s and above will be just crazy 😂. Wish you and your friends a lot of fun with the cars. Have a good one. Cheers 🤜🤛

Hi Rick, thanks a lot for watching, for leaving a comment and for the sub 🤗🙏🙏. I got the cooler here: "www.rc-race-shop.de/search?sSearch=36mm+Twin-Tornado" - i think you might find it easier searching google for: YR-YA-0643BU - they have different color-options for it also. Wish you an awesome day 🤜🤛🤘
