Hmm, my car didn’t have any issue? Lol, I’m messing with you. That’s a fantastic haul!!! Wow! You’ve done such a great job with this car Bars! Your one of a king buddy! Great update and unboxing vid! The new parts look epic!!!! I love it!🏆🤘💪😱 Wing it?!……Really…… I laughed haha!
I'm liking, and plan to get, almost all of those upgrades (tho, will need 2 sets of the lower bulkheads)...except for the aluminum lower arms. EDIT: After watching the rest of the video, noticed a few things. First, in installing the larger hardened-steel pinion, it looks like you've installed a nylon spur...talk about BIG no-no. That pinion is going to chew right through that spur, and spit it out like paper. When using a steel gear, ALWAYS mate it to a steel gear. Regarding the 2-piece center driveshaft, that's what comes installed on the CF chassis cars...it's a lot stronger than the 1-piece aluminum version. Speaking of aluminum, you're going to want to get a second lower bulkhead set...should have one set for the front gearbox, and a second set for the rear gearbox.
Car skidded into curb around 30-35mph & busted steering knuckle & rear tie rod....upset with myself BUT I've seen it take harder tumbles... that's part of this hobby though....awaiting parts. Was able to superglue knuckle but tie rod piece is stuck inside upper arm 😫 gotta drill out & hopefully a shop has that little tie rod 👍🏾
Well, I hope you get it put back together before your parts. Get there to at least have a little fun but yes, waiting for parts is always the hardest part
I just caught a front wheel wobble, after disassembly it looks like a plastic Steering Hub isn't holding the bearing tight anymore, and the inner bearing is split apart. I must have hit a small rock, on day 2 of my brand new Carbon breaking in period ! Now I've had to order CNC Aluminum hubs $21, and new bearings $20 to fix it. I wanted to see a tutorial somewhere, but it should be easy enough. The cheap original plastic one had an inner bearing that just fell apart. I have learned the CNC Aluminum hubs need two different size bearings. So here are the bearing sizes that will fit these CNC Front Steering hubs - Inner: 10 x15 x4mm Precision Ball Bearings (Rubber Sealed) - Outer: 5 x8 x2.5mm. You will also need 4 tapered (countersunk) head machine screws 3x12mm (think).
@mulder2400 i’m not sure off the top of my head. I have a screw kit that has all of them. They were a 2 mm head i’m not home at the moment I’m out of town for work, so I don’t know or can measure at the moment
Hi good to see you get all the free parts I just wish I could get the 500$ worth of parts and cf roller first part was ordered march 19th .Ordered the cf rtr on first day in the first 500 .They shipped the cf rtr on april 28th and I got the car may 4th but none of the parts .
Hi I just found a fix for my broken front hub SNRC R3G hubs fit front and rear bit of sanding on rear and a 5x12x4mm bearing. About 14 days to receive parts from SNRC rc .Might be faster if some one needs hubs.I had them on hand back running today.
Those disc brakes and rotors will limit the wheels fitting (when switching to foams.) I got a set of Contact foam tires, they won’t fit, due to the way the rim is designed on the inside. The calipers are in the way, in order to fit into the nut. Then got me some Kforce racing foam tires off of Ebay, and they fit perfect. However, they didn’t last long. Lost one on a second run (at speeds right under 90mph.) Kforce racing foams are less sticky/grippy than the Contact foams, and not as wide. I just got to figure out how to fit the Contact foams to try them out, and see if they last, more than just few passes. Original tires got me up to 84mph, until the glue gave out and couple of tires popped off the rim. Getting a good set of tires is important, especially at high speed runs. Buying something that will last for one or two battery runs is risky, at near or over 100mph and can result in a serious crash. All these fast cars in rc world, but getting a good set of tires that will handle those speeds is a mission and a half.
So the Carbon Fiber Brushless AK 917 I just bought comes with 67mm tires (O.D.), which look better on car than the 65mm tires. The problem I have is I'm unable to find ANY 67mm dia. tires other than a set of foams. Since I'm not doing speed runs yet, where do I find a set of decent looking 67mm tires (mounted or not) ?
Team Associated has titanium turnbuckles that fit front & rear! Front size is 3×16mm and rear are 3×19mm. I posted video with part numbers on my channel 🤙🏾
This company just can't get out of their own way.... they continue to make decisions that rub their paying customers the wrong way even amidst tons of negative comments and canceled orders. Not your fault but many haven't received cars or parts that they've paid for yet. No reason they should continue to send out free parts while they avoid answering emails and dm's about existing orders. In any event another will well put together video sir, keep up the good work.
I completely understand buddy I’m not sure why some decisions are being made that are and I’ve heard so many people say that they’re not getting responded to by emails or messages
@@BarstoneRC and yet you still are shilling it. These guys are screwing people and still sending you stuff. people are buying this from your videos. Oversell, Over promise, never delivered.
They sent me a car and a bag of upgraded parts I have zero control over what they are doing or what’s going on there orders will be filled. I’m sure but obviously things are taking a lot longer than they should have.
@Highways and Driveways RC, that’s what I’ve been trying to say. I did finally got the car, but the bunch of parts that were ordered back in April are currently “missing.” No tracking, except that it was created, and gave me a “fulfilled” order status; in early May. No word from Rlaarlo in regards to the lost order. I made another order not too long ago, with different parts, and already received that order; surprisingly. But one from April is MIA.
Cool video, I've been seriously looking into the Rlaarlo AK917 specifically the carbon fiber chassis RTR or roller. Do you recommend buying the AK917? I've been looking into getting more on roads since i've been driving my 8s XO-1 a lot. Again great video like always.
@@BarstoneRC Awesome, I'm glad you like yours the only thing i'm a little worried about is how Rlaarlo handles their orders and customer support. since i heard a few people are having issues with them but i'm hopping they sort it all out by the time i get ready to order my car.
Yeah, there’s no doubt that there has been a lot of orders that are running very late. I think they got very backlogged and I hope they will plan and do things a little better in the future.
I pre ordered got a shipping number never sent, no reply from them, ne explanation. they are still selling cars while having not delivered pre order. Most carbon fiber pre orders have not been delivered a month after they said it had shipped. It would be great if you could get one. Watch more videos DO NOT RECOMMEND.
@@BarstoneRC If you don’t mind, can you let me know the setup you’re using for the AK 917? I have one that I am trying to get figured out with upgrades

If you watched any of my other videos on this, that was my biggest complaint was that motor mount was not included with the car originally and I show these aluminum parts just so people can see what it’s like with them on.
Agreed I'm on the fence with this car. I wanted to do the speed challenge but when the are giving $800 plus cars away for free. Why would I jump into that? Great video, not the youtubers fault. But you don't run a competition and give people the carbon rigs and $250 worth of free upgrades. Not a level playing ground.
Yeah its a mistake by Rlaarlo to be handing out bags of parts to influencers when people have shelled out hundreds of dollars for the same parts! Especially when they have been waiting over a month for the parts to enter the same competition! Don't get me wrong, I do love the car but I'm starting to get VERY ticked off at the way they are going about this whole deal!

I got mine set up to where it should hit 100 or close to it I'm about to take it out and do it but man I don't want to wreck this thing

Does the adjustable motor mount go over closer to the spur gear ? Then the stock/modified one u had on
I’m not sure if it goes closer but you definitely don’t have to modify it at all. But it seems like it goes closer but I can’t verify that.
