Guy, that was a great video. I liked how excited you got. I remember being that excited. 75 years old now, so those days are gone. But you brought them back with your post. Thanks, buddy. I hope your channel gets going great. You got this. Try to keep your shadow off the montage. It was still great. Thanks again for the fun.
Got mine yesterday. It’s a fantastic car. But. Straight outta the box needs some adjustments to make it a stable speed run machine. Aero, shocks mainly. Great video Greg.
Oh 100% agree. Speed running it is not for beginners, because it takes some work in setting up the suspension to get it to go straight. I'm on the hunt for a nice carbon fiber splitter, might have to take a crack at cutting one out of a sheet myself. Thanks for watching man 🙏🏾
The gearing/pinion makes a huge difference. One RUclipsr ran his “stock” non carbon fiber version (note,) over 80mph (83) on just 3S, with a gear/pinion spur change (stock; included,) and some cheap foams from Ebay. In fact he recently made a video going over 100mph, on 4S this time; I believe. But he’s still running the non-carbon fiber version. The rest should take notes, especially the carbon fiber guys 🤪 🙃 I mean c’mon, some can’t even get over 80mph, on 4S! 🤦🏻♂️ 😂
LOL!!! Honestly, if you take the car out the box and just modify gearing and put foams the car will pull off and crash. Tons of suspension work needs to be done and I believe thats whats been happening to a lot of people. As for the non carbon version it has a higher KV motor so it does have potential to go faster if you have a better esc on there and run on 4s. Dont worry bro I've seen some killer custom builds coming up. This speed run challenge should be pretty nuts. Once folks get use to the platform we should be seeing some good speeds.
its a cool car, but could of been much better design. the aluminum is weak. strips easy. there maybe alignment problems with the upgraded motor mount. just a overall pain to work on. could of been much better, id take any race worthy touring car over this having had mine for only a few days.
Oh yea, steering sux, QC sux and tires sux. Buuut if you are half way competent then its a weapon fairly cheap. Out the box it definitely cannot match up to a dedicated touring car.
@@GregSupe yes it definitely wont go straight with the stock tires. got foams but they dont fit well so got 7mm extended hex adapter coming, have to tear it apart and find where its binding, i suspect the motor mount, be a shame if i have to go back to the stock one
With the contact foams you will need to remove rhe brake calipers, if you're using 30mm foams you will definitely need the hex extenders because it will rub on the steering links. With a solid suspension setup, gyro and foams itll run pretry straight.
Over rated marketing. There are many better brands with worldwide support. Better onroads with real thick Carbon. Like Serpent, Yocomo, Xray, Corally, Arrma... i have also AK-917 in metal roller version, but also the other brands and gap in quality and durability is huge. Also AM-X12 has a very poor quality.
QC was rushed, launch was rushed and regular price is way too expensive to be competitive. I do believe they are heading in the right direction though. Out the box the car needs a ton of work to be planted, but after spending some time on it, its very capable
thank you for the video......way better than most ak917 vids....just got my car today in the mail.....subscribed
Thanks for the sub!

Looks pretty epic and great video dude 👌🏽 would love to know what those bronze wheels are?
Link in description, apparently they are advertised as ... grey!?!? 😆
nice man, love those wheels
Glad you like them
It's done 100% better than the over engineered mamuth works 4 independent motor rc , atleast the Ak can achieve the speeds stated on the box
Whoooaaa....lets not mention that science experiment RC. The AK 917 is a good car after looking it over and making the suspension adjustments
Nice new car, fast too
Thanks man, its a nice car indeed
How you like the handling? It quite and quick king
Aint bad at all bro, same principles when setting up the 7th scale and thing should be nice n straight. Need some wingles at the back now
@@GregSupe ok cool go get it king
@@Rcghost-1 you know it

U got one to bro bro , yes sir 💯
You know it!
So what was your top speed out the box with no mods and are you running brushless motor
The tires will give out pretty early, but swap to foams I got 91mph. Yes brushless motor.
Like #127 nice video can’t wait to run mine
Yo yooo!!! Yea man its an awesome lil car. Some guys pushing this thing to some craz speeds. You got the roller or RTR.
amazing
Thanks man, its a good car with some mods, I dig it!
Congrats on getting such a great car, ive ordered the exact same, just waiting on the mail man to deliver.

Yea man its pretty cool. You'll enjoy it
Over rated marketing DEFINITELY 😕
