Good job. Always enjoy watching your videos. Started to buy a 4s rated motor, but you said there were no issues running on 4s. Interesting for that high of KV. I guess if there were any overheating issues the pinion could be swapped out. Oh by the way could you explain to me a Mod0.53/48P pinion gear which this car takes. Is it a specific type of Mod0 gear or what? I am confused.

When your doing a speed run on the AK-787 you don't want the wing exerting down force. That's why, just like in F1 you have an adjustable wing. You want down force in the corners and straight blade to cut through the air in the straight away. That may help with your nose lift. First time to the channel and I like it. 👍

I just ordered the 917 carbon version. I hope I don’t regret it. I didn’t realize there was two versions.

I am building a dual-motor AK-917 from stock, and I got the AK-787 upper and lower deck, HD servo, one motor, and gear, and one ESC as well as all metal elsewhere. So far it looks like the AK-917 body will fit over it all with 2s and the servo on the upper deck. I used my stock servo arm upside down. Good luck with your build.

Did you use blue loctite to install the front steering hubs?

Hey John, great videos man. Can you do a video on how to properly install the Rlaarlo branded gyro on the AK 787? No videos out there, I've looked. It would really help folks who have no idea on how to do it, Me! And many more out there. Appreciate it, thanks!

Bra video, John. 😄 I was planning to buy the parts needed to convert my metal-version 917 to a 787, but I needed about 70 US dineros for that. And with a price-difference of only 30$ between the roller version and the RTR-one (metal), its an easy choice... 😂

In other words, the only differences are as follows:
chassis, top brace, front bumper & foam, tail bracket (917) vs rear diffuser & wing (787), and body.
To convert an AK-917 into a dual-motor car, all that's needed is the dual motor mount kit, 787 chassis, and 787 top brace (the dual motor kit includes the other pieces needed for relocating the servo).

3 points to make regarding the new car:
    1) It looks like the bolts have been upgraded from the 10.9 spec up to the 12.9 spec on the newer car. My 917 is 10.9, and the 787 you have there is all 12.9. If correct that should be a big helps since the old car would strip screws quite easily (at least in my hands).
    2) I am surprised they have built a vehicle that will accept the weight of a dual motor and esc setup, yet they don't offer an upgraded shock package or simply heftier springs. The existing shock package is already too light...
    3) One reason I am holding off on this car is that I do not like the direction parts pricing is taking on Amazon. In some cases, stuff looks to be going for a minimum of twice the price of what it is on Rlaarlo's website. And Canadian pricing is utterly comical. That's not the deal - if I want to pay through the nose, I'll go with a more established brand.

My recommendation is that you don't buy anything from this brand, I bought the AK 917 in carbon fiber for my son, and these sons of bitches from Rlaarlo sent me the car with the steering wrong, and when I go to adjust it I realize that it There is a screw missing from the servo horn, and when I removed the servo horn I realized that the small teeth it has are completely worn out, this is because the materials they use are garbage, apart from the signal loss problems with the controller Rlaarlo is a mafia now I have my poor son suffering for not being able to use the car, and the worst of all is that Rlaarlo's sons of bitches don't want to take care of it, and the car is less than a month old and has not been used nor a battery for the simple fact that with the steering like this it is unusable.
