I have one, the ESC connectors for the servo and the LED lights are the micro connectors, not the standard sized servo (JP?). The radio controller has the added ability to adjust the throttle rate, so you can dial in the amount of power needed for drifting. The car drives nicely on very smooth surfaces like vinyl, plastic or polished floorboards, and due to the size and weight it can be difficult to control. Driving on carpet, the car drives like its on rails, you really need quick reflexes to avoid crashing it. Dual rate for steering would be nice.

Yes you are right. This car when you get it right feels amazing. More often than not you hit something though. Of course proper drift tires would make it easier to predict I think. Wishing you a fantastic day! 😊🙏

Just picked up one of these this week to turn into a drifter. Mine, as @teinspringz mentioned, has a micro connector for the servo on the 2-in-1 as well as having a huge heatsink for the motor. The downside to the heatsink is that they chose to remove the Mini-Z style body mount from the motor mount. So, if you want to fit a Mini-Z body to the chassis, you have to try and source a new motor mount from a previous version (which I've been largely unsuccessful in doing thus far). Also, the 284131 requires quite a bit of filing, sanding and polishing of the drivetrain in order to make it smooth and not act like you're slamming on the brakes as soon as you let off the throttle. I just ordered a complete set of metal ball diffs to free up the drivetrain a bit more.
Also, for anyone out there looking at one of these and happen to also have the new Radiomaster MT12 surface radio, you can bind the radio directly to the 2-in-1 that comes with this truck. The combo uses the XK X420 protocol, but you have to make sure to change the steering from Channel 1 to Channel 4. Throttle is corrrect (Channel 2).

I have thousands of dollars worth of RC Car stuff from Racing the Bloody Things for decades. 1/8 scale mostly. but I have to say that these little rippers are great value for money. absolute junk in a sense, but good junk. cheap junk that works and highly upgradeable junk. It's good junk for the whole family. seriously, buy like 5 or 6 of these for the whole family. My Wife loves them, we race around the lounge room floor LOL with the exact one you are reviewing here. the 284131. the LED's are crazy bright. I can not find the Body Pin Holes when the lights are on because they are so bright. with a little TLC, you can make a really good but cheap hobby with these little cars. There also buggy versions, drift and race. great for keeping that muscle memory alive mid-week when theres no racing.

I recently got one of these an absolutely love it. I'm curious to see a build of one of these paired with the transmitters that have the built in gyros.
