We can easily apply this to economics as well now that you have me thinking about this. Every time I get on reddit, I see some statist socialist "debunking" the Austrian school by link dumping MMT and other Keynesian sources despite those sources saying socialism doesn't work, and claiming that "Austrians are anti empiricism." When in reality, Austrians just treat the social science of economics like a social science. Every time I open up social media, it's like I'm living in an appeal to authority fallacy. It kind of reminds me of the authoritative ass hats that sit at the top of psychology as a science too...
