Cannot wait to make this. I’m Cajun, from south Louisiana, and this is quite similar, but not at the same time. We make a stock with meat and aromatics in it but then we put roux in it the same way y’all put chili paste in. And we eat it over rice but y’all but hominy in it. Not really that different. Awesome!

I made this dish yesterday Nov 7th 2020. I loved it as did my 18 year old daughter. Not one Mexican store sold Morita Chili's so I used 4 extra Guajillo Chili's. It was easy to make. When we were eating the soup we realized it needed some heat to it. We added some dried red Chile peppers to it that you would use on your pizza. Next time I will add 2 only Arbole Chili's to the pot. Those are very hot Chili's I would not add more than that. Don't ruin the dish, if you think you need more add more next time. Make sure you add all the extras in your bowl when you are ready to eat. It was delicious.

Often old rice can be added to any Mexican soup. It's delicious
