I have a theory about that: Palpatine used most of the dark side to mask and cloud everyone around him. Now that he’s been deformed, killed a Jedi and issued the order to kill all Jedi and create the empire; there’s no point on using the force to hide in plain sight. He can flagrantly show who he is now.
God I miss these lightsabers the current design looks sucky in comparison to the prequels heck even the original trilogy sabers looked awful in comparison
