Hello Lady G, It is nice to meet you. It is possible but I don't know if the dough can handle being fried rather than baked. I would recommend test frying a piece of dough to see if it holds together and what the texture is like. This would be a good opportunity to make the recipe and compare the final flavor and texture of the crust against the store bought dough. I'd love to hear bake about what your results where. Thank you for writing and have a great day!
Hello Helen S., You are so right. I should have opened the Fried Fruit Hand Pie to show the warm peach filling. Thank you for taking the time to remind me of these little things that make a huge difference for my viewers. Have a great day!
Hornada feliz, Alejandro Ramón, "Just One Bite, Please?"
Can you make the dough a day or 2 ahead of time and just refrigerate it? Also, I see on the blog you can freeze them them reheat in oven. Does this turn out pretty good? Thanks for the recipe I'm looking forward to trying it.
Hello wreckoningday, It is nice to meet you. Yes, you can make the dough ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 3 days or freeze it (wrapped well) for 2 months. (Defrost in the refrigerator overnight before filling and frying) The Fried Hand Pies reheat in the oven really well. I'd love to hear about your baking adventures making the recipe. Thank you so much for writing. Have a great time making the Fruit Hand Pies!
@@JustOneBitePlease I reheated some in the oven tonight and they turned out great. I've tried a couple of different recipes for these and this one is by far my favorite. They really freeze well which is nice. I like that this recipe isn't overly sweet so the flavor of everything is really good. Thanks!
Hello Junice, It is my pleasure to meet you. Please let me know if you should have any questions about this or any of my other recipes. Thank you for commenting and have a great day!
If I plan to make a lot of pie crust is it ok to use a mixing machine (kitchenaid) or is this more of a hand recipe? How long can I keep the pie crust refrigerated/frozen?
Hello Greg, It is best to make this recipe by hand for the best results. Although, you can use a food processor to blend the flour, salt, and the fat. Then you can turn the mixture into a bowl to finish the remaining steps by hand. The pie crust can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or can be frozen up to 2 months for best results. You can double the recipe using the weight measurement for the best results. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Sir, thoroughly enjoyed this detailed video. Very much appreciated! But i have a question please - what alterations would be made to the recipe should i want to bake these please? What alterations to the recipe, what baking temperature and baking time please? With great thanks!
Hello David, I would recommend to egg wash the tops of the Fruit Hand Pies and to bake at 375℉ (190℃) for 18 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown. You can brush the glaze on when the pies are still hot from the oven. Place on a cooling rack and allow to cool for 10 minutes before enjoying. Please let me know if you have any other questions I may help you with. Thank you for taking the time to leave your question and have a great day!
Hello Blayne, You can freeze the Hand Pies before you fry them. The Hand Pies can be fried directly from the freezer. Please let me know if you should have any other questions. Thank you for writing and Happy Baking!
Yes, the dough can be made the day before. Form into disks and place onto parchment squares and wrap in plastic wrap before storing in the refrigerator overnight. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Happy Baking!
Hello Ria, Yes, you can brush the Hand Pies with egg wash and bake them in a preheated oven at 375℉ (190℃) for 20 to 24 minutes or until golden brown. Brush them with the glaze while they are still hot from the oven and then let cool before eating!

Hello, Love fried pies and yours look delicious!!! Can I use store bought pie crust with this???
Hello Lady G, It is nice to meet you. It is possible but I don't know if the dough can handle being fried rather than baked. I would recommend test frying a piece of dough to see if it holds together and what the texture is like. This would be a good opportunity to make the recipe and compare the final flavor and texture of the crust against the store bought dough. I'd love to hear bake about what your results where. Thank you for writing and have a great day!
Wow!!😍😋. That looks sooooo good!! Yep. Gonna try this one!
Courtclerkk Thank you for your comment.

Hornada feliz,

+Just One Bite, Please? ok, gracias por tu respuesta, probare hacerlo...
(Defrost in the refrigerator overnight before filling and frying)
The Fried Hand Pies reheat in the oven really well.
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing.

These look great. If I'm going freeze them, should I wait to ice them until after they are reheated and cooled?
Hello Blayne, You can freeze the Hand Pies before you fry them. The Hand Pies can be fried directly from the freezer. Please let me know if you should have any other questions. Thank you for writing and Happy Baking!
Awesome job!

Hello Scout Finch, Thank you for sharing your message with me and the Just One Bite, Please? community. Have a great day!
Another great video! Can the dough be made ahead an refrigerated the day before?
Yes, the dough can be made the day before. Form into disks and place onto parchment squares and wrap in plastic wrap before storing in the refrigerator overnight. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Happy Baking!
Can I bake it? What is the oven temperature and how many minutes od baking? Do I have to brush it with an egg wash before baking it? Thank you😊
Hello Ria, Yes, you can brush the Hand Pies with egg wash and bake them in a preheated oven at 375℉ (190℃) for 20 to 24 minutes or until golden brown. Brush them with the glaze while they are still hot from the oven and then let cool before eating!
