*SIGH* Shame on you, James...shame on you. Why? You totally forgot to mention Kung Jin's voice actor: Johnny Yong Bosch. For those who don't know, JYB (for short) is a prolific anime voice actor, best known for anime like Akira, Bleach, Code Geass, Trigun, and (mostly recently) Demon Slayer. And before that, he played Adam Park, the second black Power Ranger in the OG Power Rangers show. Don't get me wrong: I wasn't expecting you to mention EVERY voice actor (like Andrew Bowen, who is the current voice of Johnny Cage since MKX) but if you're gonna go into extensive detail for Jin, I WOULD like you to know a bit about his voice.
"Please don't send me that porn" Is hands down my favorite line James has ever said because its both hilarious and a genuine "I don't want this please no"
Thank you for shouting out the amazing voice actors of these characters. I don’t feel like VA’s get enough attention for their hard work, at least compared to their Hollywood counterparts, but I really appreciate you putting them in the spotlight for a little bit. They definitely deserve the recognition.
Honestly one of my biggest complaints with Mortal Kombat, a franchise I adore, is how little respect they have for their voice actors. They recast them almost every time. I get that for like MK1 because that's an entirely new universe, but it happens every game.
With few exceptions All the voice actors in both the games and animated movies sound amazing and give a lot of personality to their characters. Even the movie actors who haven’t played those characters in years still sound awesome especially Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa. And the crossover characters too who actually had their respective actors reprise their roles (with the exception of terminator but even then arnie picked the VA himself)
I still think it’s hilarious that after a 25 year war, Jax just marches into the Netherrealm and singlehandedly kicks everyone’s ass and captures Quan Chi in like an hour.
I’m actually really liking these mortal combat kill counts mostly cause they seem to cater to James’ sense of humor perfectly. You can tell he’s really in his element making these episodes.

Absolutely loving the Mortal Kombat Kill Kounts. As a kid born in the late 80s, I grew up with the franchise but sadly fell off a bit once I started to get lost in the storyline. Never even realized they “rebooted” the timeline in MK9! This is hyping me up so much to get back into it, thanks for putting so much effort and love into such a legendary franchise!
Hanzo Hasashi saying “I mean you no harm” after beating the absolute shit out of Sonya gives me the same energy as Kenshi in MK1 saying “we must not harm the princess” before proceeding to totally destroy Mileena 😂😂
I have no idea what's going on with this plot line even with James telling me what's happening and I'm still loving every minute of it. The amount of time it must have taken to get this kill count ready seem like it might have been massive. Good job to everyone.

As someone who loves fighting games, the urge to answer the rhetorical question about 50/50’s is strong. Glad you’re having fun with these game kill counts!!
@@voiceddentalfricative1814 some background! In fighting games, you can block while crouching or standing. Most fighting games use a system of hit types where each attack is separated into one of 3, overhead, mid, or low. (Mortal Kombat also uses highs as a fourth type, but that’s not relevant for this example. Crouch blocking lets you block lows, but you get hit by overheads, standing blocking let’s you block overheads, but you get hit by lows. Most moves can be followed up by another move of the same or different attack type, and a 50/50 is when you block an opponent's move, and they can attack with either an overhead OR a low. True 50/50's are incredibly powerful, but they are fortunately rare as most overheads are slow enough for you to see coming and change your blocking position.
@@TotallyNotUni It's also important to note that 50/50 just refers to any situation where you have to guess between two options, and can't block both. High/low is a classic 50/50, but if an opponent is jumping at you they can do a front/back 50/50 where you don't know if you need to hold backwards or forwards to block. Some games, like street fighter, can make attack/throw a 50/50, where you have to guess if you need to block an attack or break a throw by pressing throw yourself.
I adore it when James nerded out in the end. It really shows just how passionate he is of Mortal Kombat even as a casual player. I am SO excited to see the MK 11 Kill Count if/when it does come out. Can't wait for Mortal Kombat 11's Kill Count whenever that happens , the ones for 9 and X were done extremely well. Also that was one of the best transitions to the numbers
@ScumAnt MK9 was the first introduction to fighting games for me when I was 12, and then MKX came out and that was when I got actually really good at the game. Scorpion and Liu Kang being my top two mains followed by Erron Black and Kotal Kahn. Not such a huge fan of MK11 or MK1, but the graphics seem to get better and better.
James giving the best explanation of the gameplay is something I never knew I needed I've been playing MKX since release and I love how aggressive this game is LMAO
I like how you're expanding the kill count past horror movies by adding video games and comics. And what a way to start the video game portion with one of the best MK games.
21:28 Should probably mark this as two kills because among the animations that play, there's another one of a Tarkatan coming through the portal plays out, but not seeing the guards flanking the portal. So one of them casually walks up behind the Tarkatan, beats him over the back of the head with his gun, then shoots him in the back while on the ground, followed by dragging him off screen by one leg. There's also another of a refugee coming through the portal, and a Tarkatan comes out behind them to grab them as a shield with his blades out as a threat and drags them back through the portal, but I guess that one can't be confirmed if the refugee dies or not.
These MK kill counts are fantastic and even Zorans comic killcount was great. Must be such a relief for you guys as well that these videos are doing so well since there is no copyright nonsense involved in games and comics. Also... Quan chenis nearly killed me
That's not entirely true about games. I have dealt with copyright nonsense in games. Mostly surrounding their soundtracks. And a lot of Square Enix and Atlus games have certain cutscenes blocked.
I loved this so much! Mortal Kombat X was the first time I really got into the story and characters of the MK series, so to see James be such a fan too and have so much fun with this episode was great! The animality at the end was incredible lmao
24:47 oh, by the way, WMD is shortform for Weapon of Mass Destruction, or in this case, Weapon of (shinnok's summoning and) Mass Destruction. thanks for the explanation, alexa!
Seeing the mortal kombat games getting so much love, especially from James is amazing. The reason most fighting games have stories is because of Mortal Kombat 9! I also loved hearing James talk about 50/50’s, explained it perfectly as a big fighting game nerd. On another note the jokes and gags in Kill Kount today were so funny, really one of the best Kill Kounts in my eyes

This game had some INSANE DLC. Anyway I’m sad this didn’t get pointed out but there was 1000 things going on haha. Kung Jin was played by Johnny Yong Bosch who voices Nero in DMC, a couple other games, Ichigo in Bleach, and he’s a freaking Power Ranger!! This game had some insane voice actors bringing these characters to life! The new games are so cool and I’m super glad you decided to do these videos. Great work James.
Raiden has been my favorite character in this series since I first started playing it. The Thunder God has always been such a cool character through all his moves and story.
Love these Mortal Kombat kill counts so far! So many references, funny jokes, backstory, and I love the longer style of videos. Keep up the great work James!!
I love how well the Kill Count format translates to other forms of media. Although I do prefer the focus on horror movies, I would not mind at all if the channel continued in this way. Thank you Dead Meat!!!!
James you have no idea how excited I was when I saw that you uploaded this video since I loved the last video that you did for "Mortal Kombat 9" and I'm so excited to see the next two videos that you do for both "Mortal Kombat 11" and "Mortal Kombat 1" and I also hope that you don't stop at just the video games and continue doing videos for the "Mortal Kombat Legends" film series starting with "Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge" because I honestly want to see your take on the film series as well. Also love that you keep cosplaying as different characters from the franchise so I can't wait to see who you're playing next. Keep up the good work, you're awesome!
From what I remember, MKX was the SECOND game of the franchise that I've ever played & it had my 2nd favorite guest character list. I'm so happy it finally got the Kill Count treatment! Here's to hoping for MK11
I would love to see video game kill counts continue post strike. I’m really enjoying these and I hope the analytics allow for James and the gang to see it as worth it as well.
25:17 TL;DR: A taquito, taco dorado, rolled taco, or flauta is a Mexican food dish that typically consists of a small rolled-up tortilla that contains filling, including beef, cheese or chicken. The filled tortilla is then shallow-fried or deep-fried. The dish is often topped with condiments such as sour cream and guacamole. maybe one day I'll give those a try, since from the looks of it, it looks tasty enough for me to order some from doordash (or in this case in my country, foodpanda or grab food). who knows?
Been loving the MK kill counts! Hope we get to see other MK stuff somewhere down the line (the animated movies, fatalities maybe? Etc) but its been a good idea to do this with all the strikes happening
The Video Game Kill counts are absolutely fantastic, really hope these become mainstay on the channel! Theres so many great Horror games that could be covered
Always love a lengthy kill count and continuing the MK games is a huge treat! Love all the backstory you give with this series. Really been loving this weird but great time of Dead Meat.
Fun Fact if I remember Korrectly, the reason smoke said "Smoke is dead, I am Enera" is because if I remember old Smoke's lore correctly he made a deal with a demon from the netherrealm named enenra to get his powers, so once smoke died the demon just took over. 9:50

26:45 was so personal LMAOOOOO
I'm actually impressed with the amount of research you did for this one. Made me happy to see someone else knowing the lore
I like how you're expanding the kill count past horror movies by adding video games and comics.
And what a way to start the video game portion with one of the best MK games.
21:28
Should probably mark this as two kills because among the animations that play, there's another one of a Tarkatan coming through the portal plays out, but not seeing the guards flanking the portal.
19:10 A Dead Meat video is the last place I ever would have expected Life is Strange to get mentioned. Strange times we're living in
I wasn’t expecting borderlands to be mentioned
35:36 “Man this guy sucks”
Just wait till he fights kronaka
I don't even play MK but I'm enjoying these video game kill counts hope James does more of them in the future.
Depends on if the game is able to be covered like Dead by Daylight wouldn’t be covered or the Friday the 13th game
I’ve tried playing it, but have come to the conclusion that I’m not cut out for fighting games of that style.
@@fatfr0g570 same here but I enjoy them nonetheless, im never touching online matches though that would end pretty quickly lol
Fucking banger for a birthday video. The Dead Meat team are amazing and we appreciate how hard working and passionate you all are about media.
Happy Birthday 🎂
Happy Birthday!
LETS GO!!!!!!
James really does the cosplay so well in this channel, and the badassery in this channel never gets old.
I love how much lore you also explain about each character when it shows them on screen, loving these MK kill counts please continue the games!
36:29 i'm sure dark raiden will make a badass villain in MK11, and TOTALLY not getting offed just 25 minutes into that game
The production value was so high in this video especially with the animality fight at the end. Like earned!
Kudos to James and the dead meat team for all of they're hard work and always being able to keep the kill count fun and creative
28:30 This is facts. I always love how when they are like take it easy on them, just sparring, or not hurt their opponent but still break necks, blow out backs, bending their knees, or blust their bal-

I know that horror movies are your bread and butter, but I am so on board with spreading the Kill Count love to other forms of horror media.
18:24 💀💀💀god that line delivery sent me i love dead meat
21:04 Lmaoo James saying "sussy baka" has me dead. It's like the joke of an older person trying to be "hip" with the younger crowd.
I really loved the MK kill counts, and I hope that James do a rating on the fatalities, if possible, would be really fun to see it
Raiden has been my favorite character in this series since I first started playing it. The Thunder God has always been such a cool character through all his moves and story.
I seriously enjoy these Mortal Kombat kill counts. It’s a nice change of pace from your normal horror movie rambling.
I'm happy that James can still do the kill count and still make wrestling references
That reveal trailer of MKX is honestly one of the best out there.
Also really liked Takeda and Kung Jin, really wish the latter reappeared in MK11
Takeda is going to be a DLC in MK1
13:40 I never noticed it before but now I can’t unsee it, thanks James 🤣
22:46 just in case you're clueless, just head over to 16 : 03 to see the part where james mentions the electric six parody in the MK9 Kill count :)
18:32 please don’t send me that porn😭😭😭
Honestly Id love to see you do a reward for your favorite fatality.

TL;DR: A taquito, taco dorado, rolled taco, or flauta is a Mexican food dish that typically consists of a small rolled-up tortilla that contains filling, including beef, cheese or chicken. The filled tortilla is then shallow-fried or deep-fried. The dish is often topped with condiments such as sour cream and guacamole.
maybe one day I'll give those a try, since from the looks of it, it looks tasty enough for me to order some from doordash (or in this case in my country, foodpanda or grab food). who knows?
you give so much context. i appreciate your comments even though most of them i already know
Really liking the increased diversity in kill counts, hope we continue to see musicals, games and shows along with the traditional movies 🙏
I love the MK kill counts so much. These games mean so much to me and James getting excited about them juat makes me extra happy
Comments like this sound like bots lol
