we have 7 of these at my company and we manage them (exact same specs, just 64gb of ram, they are used by our marketing department), constant thermal throttling, constant crashing. If you do some googling on the heating issues on these machines they become very clearly the worst macbook pro every made lol.
I thought it was the previous 2018 15” model that had the thermal issues? I think they redid the whole thermal design on the 2019 and it doesn’t throttle at all. Interested to hear if it’s the 16 or 15
@@ceta7019 its specifically the 2019 16 inch i9, the i7 actually didnt have this issue the i9 is just too much, there are a few things you can do like always run it in low power mode, or underclock the CPU. At let me be completely transparent, I haven't done research on the other models, but since we have 7 of them in our fleet, I concluded that the crashing and heating issues we have been seeing are just bc its a terrible design and a flaw. They should not have put the i9 in these machines... Or found a way to cool them better. Another solution that only semi works is downloading mac fan control and running the fans at max speed because the default fan curve apple has for these does not ramp up fast enough.

@UnknownASMREats have you tried to put a thermal pad right above the cpu heatsink to gap the space with the lid? It won't resolve all the issues but it should help a little with the temps

We had two iMacs spec’d out from2018 - they are pretty much gathering dust now. Once they purchase the new models, the old ones have no value. Some of them auction the items, after a long long long time
I saw my comment around the 00:50 mark, I didn't realise your replied. This is such a good deal and a lot of these IT companies do sell them for way below the marketplace value and usually with high specs due to being in the IT sector, I have a feeling they are being replaced because they are expecting Apple to stop native macOS support within the next 2 years, hopefully i will be able to find a deal like this in my country but as of now the local sellers still charge thousands for a used 2019 16" MacBook and because i also create content i need something probably 4TB seeing as you can't manually upgrade the storage in these.

Someone here have a good explanation, but in a nutshell: these companies make money by being as efficient and productive as possible. As soon as the machines start hampering that productivity, they get replaced, easy as that. Most of them just get treated as a write off/scrap. Sometimes the employees take them and keep them/resell them waay below market value. So, that’s the most likely explanation.

Although the only thing I have to compare it with is my older 15 inch MacBook Pro from 2008 with the CD/DVD drive- speakers are great for old movies on that one lol 🍿💿

the company my dad was at was going to throw away 14 quest 1 headsets about a year ago so he saved all of them. we now have 14 quest 1s lol. so i can confirm tech companies do in fact do this
You seem very genuine individual, and these types of people and situations do happen. ( I once got a xps with 16gb ram and 500 SSD for $150 from a guy who said his it company gave him a new one) You even tried to justify why you bought another one 😭. Tbh, You really don't ever need to justify to people on youtube or social media they will always try to find something to flaw.

I got a good deal on one of these about a year ago. I really wanted a 16inch MacBook but I did not need the speed or power of efficiency of Apple Silicon. Plus, I think the ToughBar is cool. Mine is the base model though, but it does all I need it to. I know they run hot and don't have good battery but don't underestimate them. I really think these are still great reliable computers with many great qualities.
Wow, just yesterday Ive watched your m1 max video and today Ive found on a similar site MBP 16" 2019 for $300. It just has polarizer off, so I could replace it and get $500 computer for almost half the price. Im very hapy rn
The new M-chip MacBooks are tricky to fix when it comes to the screen. The screen itself is paired to the motherboard and if you change it you'll have weird artifacts displayed on the top of the screen. The only way to circumvent the issue is to unsolder the chip from the broken screen and transfer it to the new one which not many shops do and it can get tricky. So I would expect the total cost to be screen part + 100/150$ for the work of transfering the chip on the new assembly and glueing the screen back to the metal housing

The 16" i9 Macbook is a space heater or a portable workstation, not a LAPtop for sure 😆 however great find, but i find it suspicious yet also understandable why these go for so cheap, ebay is full of them and they go for around 400 euros up to 500, similar specs too, either way great videos so far, there aren't many people on youtube that take these risks this often.
Thats Crazy, That computer can work for about 6 more years while being such a beautiful machine, great sound, amazing screen, great battery life, just baffling. People these days pay 800-700 usd for a work laptop that is just nothing compared to this.

I just picked up a 2019 16" MBP i9 2.4 GHz AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8GB with 64GB ram and 4TB storage for $150 from the original owner. I hope to get a M4 MBP but this is a SWEET machine!
I also clean used macs before anything else. I have used alcohol for this since about 1990 with zero damage to any mac or mac screen. I also have that 2019 16" i9. It's a backup to my 16" M1 Max. The fan is SO LOUD on all the Intel macbook pros. And the battery life is atrocious compared to Apple Silicon. Still has AppleCare though...
Hey, cool video, I also recently got a MBP 2019 16inch. These machines like to run kinda hot, so if you're willing to take it apart I recommend applying some thermal pads to the VRM and also changing the thermal paste since the factory didn't apply much (alteast for my machine 🙃)

Watching on the same Macbook Pro! But 16gb ram, Do note that these machines overheat way too much and while playing basic games i have to use turbo boost switcher, macs fan control and also resolution at 840p for it to only be at 70 degrees
I believe the battery has been replaced. U can see the discoloration of the palm rest, also the coating of the keycaps are rubbed off. Im 100% sure the battery has been replaced, since i buy macbooks on a daily basis and sell them.

I just double checked my MacBook Pro, and we are in fact practically "Mac Twins"! Mine is exact same MacBook Pro (16-inch 2019), but mine has slightly different specifications- processor: 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, memory: 64 GB, storage: 2TB (and I have 2TB external drive as well, got it separately at a later date). The control bar thing at the top of the keyboard freaked me out a bit at first LOL... truthfully, the only thing I really use it for is for volume control- and it's AWESOME at that! The keyboard itself, I'm neutral about- it's good, it does the job, but it definitely makes me miss the keyboard on my 2008 MacBook Pro SO MUCH... it was SO MUCH NICER in comparison lol 😍 This 2019 MacBook Pro will be an absolute BLESSING for PORTABILITY- seriously, you are going to LOVE IT for that. I'm seriously SO HAPPY FOR YOU, having an option that you can take with you ANYWHERE- even if it's just into another room, or to another location altogether- you more than DESERVE IT! But man, I totally get how you may want to address some of the comments related to staged or fake deals, etc. At the end of the day, those who believe you will believe you, and those who are doubtful or suspicious will be just that. If that's the case, try waiting and see if it pops up later! Great deal man but still: use the max for productivity, I used the 16'' i7 (for a few years) and it was all the time throttling because of the thermal issues. It was OK on a small codebase project but when started with big ones it showed how bad it can be. (a change of simple background color did take to build like 20-30sec, clean build 20min ... ) Well, it also could be that Apple is killing it ;) PS: maybe you might want to clean the fans, my 16'' was nearly the same age ... and the fans were 100% full of dust, after cleaning it did not help so much with thermals :S ps2: Odličan content :D

I am actually a bit jealous of this video for one main reason, the fact that I have a 16 inch 2019 MBP fully spec'd which when I bought it new from Apple in early 2020, I paid around 9k USD and you have just scored a laptop of similar specs for only 250 Euros. I have used this exact spec off machine(only not 4TB and cant recall the amount of ram) for my work and also had to replace it around a year ago because it was hindering my productivity. We dont sell machines so it has been a literal paperweight since, just having it in place as a backup when needed. When an engineers price a day is close to 1k a day making sure they don't get frustrated or have issues is really alot more important than the price of the machine they are working on. For more info on why, i switched to linux and that ran like shit on the mac and was unreliable. So now i have a i9 32GB RAM Zenbook 14X.

I'm using the M1 Macbook that I bought used with a 1 cycle (talk about lucky), but it wasn't nearly as cheap as your two macs. Anyways, I'm glad that you got those computers and not somebody who will flip them for a profit. How about fans noise while you plugged ext monitor? Whenever you plug in ext monitor mac use Radeon GPU only. It is bad design in my opinion because intel's igpu would be fine with 4k monitor or even 2 4k monitors with 60hz refresh rate but apple decided that only Radeon can manage it....

@@adrianpiwowarczyk9848 Honestly, Fan Noise ain't that bad. When just browsing the internet, doing emails etc: no fan noise at all. But once I open up my projects, which are loaded with a huge ton of expensive VSTs, the fans start to make noise which is okay. Even on my Desktop PC the CPU Fan starts to make noise, haha. So yeah, I'm happy. But obviously I'm definitely plan to replace the thermal sauce in the future. Just have no time for it tough.

Kolko sam čuo, m4 mini je super cijena, da idem kupovati novi, vjerojatno bi njega uzeo. A ljudi prodaju po svakakvim cijenama i ovo kaj sam ja našao je vise izuzetak nego pravilo, vjeruj mi. Ljudi prodaju po deset godina stare modele za 300-400 eura, nenormalno. Ako imaš vremena/živaca, prati tu kategoriju na Njuškalu (Apple računala), ali ako si možeš priuštiti i stvarno ti treba, možda i novi nije losa opcija.
i got a question do you use Screen Protector for mac? i have been taking care of mine, it’s way different when ℹ compared to my ex- Window one ( i gave to my brother). for 4 years, i dont use Macbook screen protector but i just discovered recently that “dust” also damages the screen 😂. i just think tissues so i wont have keyboard oil on my screen 😂 i wipe my keyboard after everytime i used my sole Laptop but still nothing is permanent 😂
Never used a screen protector, never had an issue in my life 🤷♂️ It’s not like your phone you touch constantly or drop on occasion. Can’t imagine why you’d need it
I feel like you could sell this for pretty good price and instead buy a second hand good shape M series pro with similar if not the same sidespecs and have a much better battery life and thermal performance 😅

About alcohol wipes - U really should not clean your screnn with them. It can be seen like nothinf hapened after I used Is, but after couple dozens of that procedure your anti-glare coating will be defenitelly be damaged, this wipes for screens are for "classic monitors screens" which has no that kind of coating. So just be carefull and Apple Itselfrecommends to use watered cloak do wipe your screen from dirt) Alcohol can damage It in range, not Immidiatelly)
But water doesn’t do a good job of removing grease and other things from the screens. Again, I’ve been using this for like 10 years (not daily of course) and I’ve never had an issue with it with any of my MacBooks and other laptops.
@ Yeah, u got lucky, I think, because my previous laptops screen - Thinkpad e14 gen2 was just melted because of that alcohol wipes, maybe just bad quality of screen sealing...

If the account is just days old, it’s likely fake. If the computer is NiB and it’s sold for like a couple hundred bucks, it’s fake. And, not necessarily true, but if it’s too good to be true, it’s likely fake. Stay safe!

The seller already did a bunch of upgrades to it, like an SSD + HDD, flashed internals, It still has the base 3,33 ghz quad core though. This 2019 version has EXCELLENT speakers in my opinion! Although the only thing I have to compare it with is my older 15 inch MacBook Pro from 2008 with the CD/DVD drive- speakers are great for old movies on that one lol

the company my dad was at was going to throw away 14 quest 1 headsets about a year ago so he saved all of them. we now have 14 quest 1s lol. so i can confirm tech companies do in fact do this

I got a good deal on one of these about a year ago. I really wanted a 16inch MacBook but I did not need the speed or power of efficiency of Apple Silicon. Plus, I think the ToughBar is cool. Mine is the base model though, but it does all I need it to. I know they run hot and don't have good battery but don't underestimate them. I really think these are still great reliable computers with many great qualities.

The new M-chip MacBooks are tricky to fix when it comes to the screen. The screen itself is paired to the motherboard and if you change it you'll have weird artifacts displayed on the top of the screen.
The only way to circumvent the issue is to unsolder the chip from the broken screen and transfer it to the new one which not many shops do and it can get tricky.
So I would expect the total cost to be screen part + 100/150$ for the work of transfering the chip on the new assembly and glueing the screen back to the metal housing

The 16" i9 Macbook is a space heater or a portable workstation, not a LAPtop for sure 😆 however great find, but i find it suspicious yet also understandable why these go for so cheap, ebay is full of them and they go for around 400 euros up to 500, similar specs too, either way great videos so far, there aren't many people on youtube that take these risks this often.
Yeah, it does get quite hot. Runs great though. I haven’t been able to find them for €500 anywhere, especially with these specs. No way.

Thats Crazy, That computer can work for about 6 more years while being such a beautiful machine, great sound, amazing screen, great battery life, just baffling. People these days pay 800-700 usd for a work laptop that is just nothing compared to this.

I just picked up a 2019 16" MBP i9 2.4 GHz AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8GB with 64GB ram and 4TB storage for $150 from the original owner. I hope to get a M4 MBP but this is a SWEET machine!

I also clean used macs before anything else. I have used alcohol for this since about 1990 with zero damage to any mac or mac screen. I also have that 2019 16" i9. It's a backup to my 16" M1 Max. The fan is SO LOUD on all the Intel macbook pros. And the battery life is atrocious compared to Apple Silicon. Still has AppleCare though...
Yep, never had an issue cleaning my screen. And yeah, it’s not as nearly as energy efficient as the M series.
Hey, cool video, I also recently got a MBP 2019 16inch. These machines like to run kinda hot, so if you're willing to take it apart I recommend applying some thermal pads to the VRM and also changing the thermal paste since the factory didn't apply much (alteast for my machine 🙃)

Watching on the same Macbook Pro! But 16gb ram, Do note that these machines overheat way too much and while playing basic games i have to use turbo boost switcher, macs fan control and also resolution at 840p for it to only be at 70 degrees

I believe the battery has been replaced.
U can see the discoloration of the palm rest, also the coating of the keycaps are rubbed off.
Im 100% sure the battery has been replaced, since i buy macbooks on a daily basis and sell them.

I just double checked my MacBook Pro, and we are in fact practically "Mac Twins"! Mine is exact same MacBook Pro (16-inch 2019), but mine has slightly different specifications- processor: 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, memory: 64 GB, storage: 2TB (and I have 2TB external drive as well, got it separately at a later date).
The control bar thing at the top of the keyboard freaked me out a bit at first LOL... truthfully, the only thing I really use it for is for volume control- and it's AWESOME at that! The keyboard itself, I'm neutral about- it's good, it does the job, but it definitely makes me miss the keyboard on my 2008 MacBook Pro SO MUCH... it was SO MUCH NICER in comparison lol 😍
This 2019 MacBook Pro will be an absolute BLESSING for PORTABILITY- seriously, you are going to LOVE IT for that. I'm seriously SO HAPPY FOR YOU, having an option that you can take with you ANYWHERE- even if it's just into another room, or to another location altogether- you more than DESERVE IT!

Lately YT has been doing background updates with their system, with some noticeable lag here and there- sometimes the comment and/or reply is there, but for whatever reason isn't visible to the public for several hours. If that's the case, try waiting and see if it pops up later!
Other times it's because the channel owner has set some moderator restrictions, restricted words, or categories of comments that need to be reviewed and approved first by the video creator and/or their team- which I don't think is the case here because Schvabek is such a chill guy and seems to allow viewers express their opinions openly.
Lastly, it may be other users and/or YT itself flagging something as potentially inappropriate, harmful, or offensive. For example, excessive profanity or trigger words.
I'm honestly hoping it's just a lag or delay of some sort. If you want, try resubmitting your comment again in about 12 hours if it isn't publicly visible. I typically type my longer comments in a text file and copy paste them into YT for this very reason- in case some nonsensical nonsense like that happens! Then I can edit and resubmit my comment if it "didn't pass the vibe check" LOL

Great deal man but still: use the max for productivity,
I used the 16'' i7 (for a few years) and it was all the time throttling because of the thermal issues. It was OK on a small codebase project but when started with big ones it showed how bad it can be. (a change of simple background color did take to build like 20-30sec, clean build 20min ... ) Well, it also could be that Apple is killing it ;)
PS: maybe you might want to clean the fans, my 16'' was nearly the same age ... and the fans were 100% full of dust, after cleaning it did not help so much with thermals :S

I have used this exact spec off machine(only not 4TB and cant recall the amount of ram) for my work and also had to replace it around a year ago because it was hindering my productivity. We dont sell machines so it has been a literal paperweight since, just having it in place as a backup when needed.
When an engineers price a day is close to 1k a day making sure they don't get frustrated or have issues is really alot more important than the price of the machine they are working on.
For more info on why, i switched to linux and that ran like shit on the mac and was unreliable. So now i have a i9 32GB RAM Zenbook 14X.

I'm using the M1 Macbook that I bought used with a 1 cycle (talk about lucky), but it wasn't nearly as cheap as your two macs. Anyways, I'm glad that you got those computers and not somebody who will flip them for a profit. How about fans noise while you plugged ext monitor? Whenever you plug in ext monitor mac use Radeon GPU only. It is bad design in my opinion because intel's igpu would be fine with 4k monitor or even 2 4k monitors with 60hz refresh rate but apple decided that only Radeon can manage it....

@@adrianpiwowarczyk9848 Honestly, Fan Noise ain't that bad. When just browsing the internet, doing emails etc: no fan noise at all. But once I open up my projects, which are loaded with a huge ton of expensive VSTs, the fans start to make noise which is okay. Even on my Desktop PC the CPU Fan starts to make noise, haha. So yeah, I'm happy. But obviously I'm definitely plan to replace the thermal sauce in the future. Just have no time for it tough.

Kolko sam čuo, m4 mini je super cijena, da idem kupovati novi, vjerojatno bi njega uzeo. A ljudi prodaju po svakakvim cijenama i ovo kaj sam ja našao je vise izuzetak nego pravilo, vjeruj mi. Ljudi prodaju po deset godina stare modele za 300-400 eura, nenormalno. Ako imaš vremena/živaca, prati tu kategoriju na Njuškalu (Apple računala), ali ako si možeš priuštiti i stvarno ti treba, možda i novi nije losa opcija.

It can be seen like nothinf hapened after I used Is, but after couple dozens of that procedure your anti-glare coating will be defenitelly be damaged, this wipes for screens are for "classic monitors screens" which has no that kind of coating. So just be carefull and Apple Itselfrecommends to use watered cloak do wipe your screen from dirt) Alcohol can damage It in range, not Immidiatelly)
But water doesn’t do a good job of removing grease and other things from the screens. Again, I’ve been using this for like 10 years (not daily of course) and I’ve never had an issue with it with any of my MacBooks and other laptops.
@ Yeah, u got lucky, I think, because my previous laptops screen - Thinkpad e14 gen2 was just melted because of that alcohol wipes, maybe just bad quality of screen sealing...
@ No idea. I mean, these wipes are not that wet. So they really shouldn’t cause the alcohol to get under the screen or something. I guess if you poured alcohol on it or something.

@@build_with_binh I know, it’s the worst. There are ways of spotting them quite easily, I might do a video on that. If they leave a WhatsApp number in the description, it’s likely fake. If the account is just days old, it’s likely fake. If the computer is NiB and it’s sold for like a couple hundred bucks, it’s fake. And, not necessarily true, but if it’s too good to be true, it’s likely fake. Stay safe!

just found a Mac Pro 4,1 flashed to 5,1 for 100 euros.
The seller already did a bunch of upgrades to it, like an SSD + HDD, flashed internals, It still has the base 3,33 ghz quad core though. Do you think this price is worth it with the potential upgrade costs for ram, cpu and gpu?
