I wanted to test how far back could you really go if you wanted to get into video editing, but you felt like you didn't really have the necessary equipment. Turns out this 14 year old machine actually does a decent job, as long as you don't mind having a slightly lower resolution. Hope it didn't bother you too much.

No way this old Macbook is almost as old as me (I turn 18 this year)
Freaking idiot threw a hard drive in the trash... anything that happened after that was on him.
anything to make it happen is cool dude. Great video i btw i enjoyed it and followed the video as you shared your memories with it. that alone is why we cant leave old things alone :D
what an absolute crazy luck man
And that is why i never save any information in my browser and have it log me out when i end the session!
I just bring it replace android box tv can see movie at 1080p
Wise words!
Your boot issues are likely due to an incorrect boot mode. Windows 11 only supports UEFI (afaik), and Windows XP only supports old-school BIOS boot.
11:06 the google shortcut is called "Zabranjena ljubaf" which is a spelling mistake of Zabranjena Ljubav and it means "forbiden love" its in Serbian or another country near Serbia like Croatia or Bosnia, the languages are almost the same and in this particular case you cant really tell which it is. Edit: on the browser the first tab says "Bilo kad i bilo gdje" indicating its most likely Croatian. The bookmarks below or whatever they are called say "POSAO" which means work, "Produkcija" which means production.
Problem is you can't watch this video on a 2007 MacBook unless you know how to download it.
Asus makes tough laptops, I really like them. I’m so glad you gave this one a new life.
I really do like these types of videos. It's a shame that the people outside of this community has ruined it for those who enjoy it. It's not like you did anything wrong.
I can hear the pain in your voice. This is so absolutely terrible and I hope more people become aware of just how important cybersecurity is.
Slap some Linux Mint and this machine is fine for normal tasks. My family has been windows free for 20 years and we are now only macOS and Linux.
Honestly, people's understanding of 720p vs 1080p vs 2160p is quite limited, especially if their only experience is by viewing RUclips videos. As of a few years ago, RUclips heavily compresses any 1080p or below video stream, probably so they could sell the "1080p Premium" feature after the fact. While yes, a 720p video released today might not look great, if it were released somewhere other than RUclips, the quality wouldn't be smashed like it is. (You can actually see all of the compression artifacts, smh)
The people saying they were HOPING you would find cheese pizza, for whatever reason, is kind of messed up. If you're not an IT admin or computer repair shop, it's kind of hard to claim you "found a HDD full of cheese pizza in a dumpster" without becoming a suspect yourself, either in being the owner or potentially helping the owner cover it up and just regretting it after the fact. You're talking a level where you'd want to get a lawyer to advise you what to do, and most likely they'll just tell you to destroy it or hand it off to them to turn it in or something. Don't get me wrong, that was what I assumed you found, but I mean, I wasn't *mad* you were upset that someone left so much personal information on a drive. When you found the movie Turning Red, I thought the folder was, uh, questionable stuff, stuff that maybe made the original owner's cheeks turn red 😂 then I realized it was just the movie. The weird thing is back in the day, computer repair shops used to snoop through files all the time, and it wasn't unheard of for them to find criminal materials and hand it off to the police. They always claimed it was in the name of making sure the "files weren't corrupt", but always came off more like people who used their rudimentary understanding of computers to be a voyeur professionally. Given people who fixed computers, developed photos, etc., would get caught copying people's personal photos and such from time to time, this isn't exactly beyond the pale. I'm imagining most data recovery professionals don't ever actually touch their clients data anymore, if they ever really had, and that's just the purview of mom and pop repair spots, but I've always been curious. I mean, if you're doing a low level recovery, what you get is what you get, and the client usually just has to accept that and figure it out on their own, assuming the tech knows how to use their expensive tools properly.
the video title looks like the owner of the HDD stored naughty roblox stuff in it
Of course you don't need an M4.... but humans evolved lust and desire so that humans don't settle with the bare minimum.
3:53 That's really nice of you to say, as people need to understand this very clearly. Apple surely know how to market their stuff and people really think they need the latest processor to do any work, when actually most machines can allow you to do the thing you intend, some more easily than others.
I personally think this MacBook is the best industrial design can look, along with the Mac Pro of similar design
im using 2014 mac mini with 4gb of ram as a daily driver
Most terrifying part is people don't use Two Factor Authentication nowadays...
I thought it was a macbook
I would love to have an old mac to use for when i need to focus. I was looking for older 2006-2008 macs so i can use them for basic stuff like listening to music, watching movies and writing and im very compelled to buy one, shame that here in my country even these old macs are expensive af
yikes...was he some old guy who didnt know how to work a computer
remember kids, dont throw HDD's in the trashcan, burn it
Well done I am happy for you! This seller is a moron :D No interest in selling Macs :D Well, his loss. I feel sorry for this Windows user, there is a reason people say once you go Mac you never go back :D
This is pretty funny as I know Lenny lmao
You're lucky to have these machines available for this cheap, here next door (Serbia) I can't find a 2007 macbook pro and the only working one with this design I can see is a 2008 one for 150 euros
Not the first time Apple screwed consumers.... I left Macintosh when they moved from Motorola 68K to PowerPC. Everyone was like W T F
Time to run DBAN many times.
Somehow this looks Fake cause the HDD looks WAY to NEW ( As in Clean ), plus i'm sure any computer owner that trashes their PC/Laptop, they would destroy the HDD/SATA before trashing, reason to do this is to prevent theft of information. So again i don't know if this is real or fake, but imo it looks fake.
He made a new video talking to the owner of it
Clickbait
"A cheap piece of shit non-Apple monitor" Nothing like those unexpected descriptors that let you know you're accessing genuine, unpretentious, non-AI generated audio. My compliments 😂.
The move wasn’t a surprise at all, it had been rumoured for a long time and NextStep was originally designed to be portable across architectures. It was a time when chip makers believed Moore’s law meant doubling the clock speed of their chips every two years. And Intel just released Core and were absolutely dominating AMD. I remember them releasing the G4 + G5 and having a massive performance advantage over x86 chips, and that advantage quickly eroding as Motorola and then IBM both failed at the fabrication table to produce these chips. I feel like this was the time Apple stopped making regular hardware upgrades to Macs, because newer chips weren’t available. Definitely not a surprise transition, but a surprise how smooth it went, and also the x86 to Apple Silicon. And advantage I put down to Apple’s narrow hardware selection and ruthless upgrade strategy.

@@igornikolic4394 Pozdrav i tebi iz Zagreba!
You don't have to justify yourself mate, you've done no wrong. I think they're forgetting that this drive was.. in the trash. Literally in the bin. You're not responsible for someone else neglecting to protect their sensitive information.
Bringus?
For a laptop from that time period, I have to say that it's designed held up well.
Honestly, those WD HDDs seem indestructible. My boss bought a shop building and there was an old IBM Thinkcenter setup with XP that had been sitting in a leaky office and the hard drive not only functioned but was decently fast for something that sat unused in the elements for at least 10 years. The 500gb WD out of my xbone has been my main backup and its outlived a few other HDDs
06:19 Don't say it's unremarkable! I completed my 3D course on an Intel Core 2 Duo E2140!
What a lot of people don't realize is that Apple really didn't have a choice doing this... The Power PC chips were being bought up by the gaming console makers. Sony and Microsoft. So apple needed to fins another chip source. Luckily/smartly Steve Jobs was developing two versions of OSX (power pc and intel) at the time.
U australian?

Misleading ass title. How is a guy forgetting to wipe their hdd disturbing? Fuck clickbait man.
This brings back memories. I used to have a memory card with 8x the normal capacity, where you used select + L1/R1 to switch between pages, though with a caveat, you could only swap to the next page if you had at least 1 available slot on the current page.
where can I get the part to replace ?
@@MiniFarhat I used a donor controller. Depending on what you need to replace, you might be able to find them on AliExpress
This is the best looking laptop ever made. It looks more modern than certain other laptops 20 years later
