I received my sand shark Prescotts and they fit me perfectly in my usual Tecovas size. I must have got lucky. I found them to be extremely comfortable. They are probably the most comfortable pair of Tecovas that I own. I am very happy with my Prescotts.
Oh man that is Awsome. I am happy to hear when people love the way there boots fit and it is definitely depending on your foot. Enjoy them they are great boots and thank you for your support.
The only reason I've been holding off on getting a pair of Tecovas is the fitting issues I hear lots of people having. Shark skin is amazing! Got lucky and snagged some new old stock Tony Lamas for a steal at an old western store! Thanks again for all the time and effort you put into your videos!
Thank you for supporting it my friend. Putting this information out there is my pleasure and im glad you like it. If you can show off those Tony Lama shark skin on the facebook page that would be awsome. Thanks again.
When I got my Tecovas my bedroom smells like leather for a week. I wore them to work one day and I smelled leather all day long while I was sitting at my desk
That is Awsome they made that smell in my closet for weeks and when I got in my truck the duct for my foot was grabbing the smell sand putting it by my face on the ac it was Awsome.
We need more boot review people on RUclips. It’s super helpful. Could you perhaps one day buy rujo boots and compare them to tecovas? Preferably their caiman belly boots. I’m in the market for some. But wanted to see more in detail reviews from others before pulling the trigger.
Thank you and it is my pleasure to do these reviews and help fold out. Like I said I have yet to try the Tecovas caiman belly and it might be a while before I get to it but I did review the rujo caiman belly and I even compared them to the Lucchese Charles caiman belly and the rujo won so you definitely can’t go wrong with those especially for the money. Check out the part 1 and 2 of rujo the trace unboxing in my review list. Thank you for your support.
The spur shelf on both boots is rougher looking than I would expect. I do like the colour combination. I agree that the double stitched welt is bulkier than I like on a pair of boots.
Thank you my friend I believe the Banderas is also part of there ranch wear line of boots and yes they are definitely awkward fitting I am hoping that there regular line fits better.
I just got a pair and I wear a 11.5 in all boot brands lucchese, rios, black jack, so I bought a 11.5 in these sand sharks and they fit me good. I would say the prescotts fit a 1/4 of a size bigger than the other brands I aforementioned. A 11.5 if it was any smaller would be too small so since the prescotts are a 1/4 of a size big then they still fit good just wear some thick socks, I know if I sized down to a 11 then they would be a 1/4 of a size too small and that’s not good for me. For people who are not buying because they are worried about sizing then take my advice. If you are on the higher end of your size in fitting then buy normal size, but if you are already stretching your foot to wear the sizes you normally do then go for a half size down and you should be good. Also depending on which one size you do buy, you need to wear thick or thin socks.
I definitely understand the idea of wearing thicker and thinner socks depending upon the selected boots I do that all the time but with these there was just still way too much room now some folks don’t mind that and I understand it’s all about how comfortable you are wearing these boots and that’s why some say they are comfortable and others are like me not liking the way they fit so if you’re wearing thicker socks and the boots still fits sloppy and the half size down is too tight then it is not the boot’s for you also it really depends on the shape of your foot the width of your ankle and how it seats on the throat of the boots and your heal so this one just didn’t work for me and if I can recommend anything is that with all the boots on the market today the last thing anyone should do is buy something that they feel doesn’t fit them, in your case you’re comfortable with them so that’s great they are definitely worth it but for me they are not.
I’ve got sand sharks. They fit me just as well if not better than all my other Tecovas. One the most comfortable in my opinion. I do wish they had a single stitch welt as well.
That is Awsome to hear that the Prescott fit you well and are comfortable for you that’s what it’s all about is that your happy with them and not everything will fit us the same as we all have different feet but the single stitch welt does look great. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel.
I also have them in shark and I also have the stockton. I will agree with you. My Prescott fit bigger and not as comfortable as my stockton. I love them but every time I were them I'm disappointed that they just don't seem to fit right. But I were them anyway but would were way more if I had a better fit and I do regret not sending them back before I wore them to at least try a different size.
Yes most definitely there is no reason to make a boot used for a different purpose fit differently. Your foot is the same foot working or going out lol.
A boot should be a little tight when you first get them, you can’t expect comfort from leather boots your first day. Almost every boot I have bought (western or work) are very uncomfortable for about a week until you BREAK THEM IN, then they are the most comfortable pair of footwear I own.
Yes I do agree with you for the most part as I’ve owned and broken in many pairs of boots but with this one’s I knew after putting them on that they would be uncomfortable and break in sloppy especially after unsuccessfully breaking in half a size bigger.
Fit is always going to be different across brands and even different within as brand as well. I was noticing you heel going in and knew that boot would be really to super snug. My trip to the Tecovas store could be dangerous haha
@@cowboybootshatsandwesternl9663 Back in November I had called a few of the online boot makers, told each of them my foot size on the Brannock and what I’ve worn in some brand etc. Well one of them told me I might have to actually go up half a size from the Brannock measurement. Typically for me boots are 10-10.5 & 11D but never 11.5
I have some. They are heavy and get hot quickly. They are my beater boots. The durability are solid but the heel counters suck and the toe box is large. For boots that you want to take a beating and don't really care about longevity these boots are good. However if your looking for something you can resole and keep for years these boots ain't that. Plastic heel counters are awful for long lasting fix, the insole is comfy but adds to the heat and weight. They are good at what they are intended to do but that's it.
Very nice riding boots. Looks a little silly without spurs, as with any riding boot. My Cody James riding boots are almost wore out, might have to check these out.
Yeah you definitely can order them to see if you like them like I said they just weren’t for me do to the fit weight spur shelf being a bit weak and the toe shape not really being my style. But if they work for you then that’s all that matter’s.
@@cowboybootshatsandwesternl9663 Very true, good points. Hey can I ask you an American Hat Co question ? I’ve been loyal to the Atwood palm thoroughbred low crown for years, but wanted to try AHC. Was looking for a vented straw like the one you wear, but I’m kinda of a smaller guy so I need the 4 3/4 low crown, otherwise I look like Hoss Cartwright. Do you know if they make a low crown ? I appreciate ya man glad I found you on yt.

Yes absolutely I think the single stitch welt Would have refined that Boot a lot.
I had the same fit problem with their Banderas that have the removable insole. I went with the insole but with a thin sock. Good review.

Can’t believe I waited and they raised the price 90 bucks
Wow I didn’t even know just looked it up and they sure did.

Most definitely and that is true but this boot was truly an awkward fit I hope the other boots from tecovas will fit right.

Could you make a video on how to get a good stack with jeans?
I can definitely try but honestly Jean stack is so personal that it will be hard to make it clear cut.
Can you review Los Altos felt cowboy hat 10x?
I will definitely attempt to my friend.
are these boots discontinued?
I don’t think so the are definitely still available.
Here’s the link to them.
