Iwatula Shikufa I don’t want to sound mean but that is definitely not a A work but it shouldn’t be C either, I would probably give it a B, her art piece does seem full and fun but there should be more detailed and small art pieces, I can tell she tried her best however as a A art student myself, she should improve her quantity and quality, there is some fun textures and prints but in her more detailed coloured art pieces. It seems a bit too rough and random Here is some constructive criticism, she should add more shades and colours and explore more in her pieces. I know she is trying to explore but the no. of mediums she used is still not versatile enough. She should not be afraid to use darker colours for shadows and if you see carefully, the shadows ain’t dark or drastic enough. Oh and please don’t have such big reference photos as the examiners does hope to see more of your art development.
Just recently i finished with my course work, well to be precise about a month ago and it was literal hell. I personally chose art cause i genuinely thought it was gonna be chill and what not. Turns out it obv wasnt but it only hit me a month before it was due how behind i was. Id never stressed so much about anything in my life. Though it is my fault, i can admit that it is so much work. Though me, personally, cause i did so much art in such a small period of time, i decided to add on to my stress by redoing 80% of my work cause of how much i had improve and how much of a perfectionist i decided to be when i clearly didnt have time. BUT i WAS the first person to hand everything in. I am a master procrastinator what can i say. I will never learn. (p.s. my hair started falling off). Just pull a few all-nighters and youll be fine. Not actually.
For everyone wondering why she got a C: The number of artworks in the portfolio was very less, there was a lot of annotations (which Cambridge doesn’t want) and the finishing of the artwork wasn’t that great
@@blankxblankx8516 I think they want smaller ones- the main focus should be the art, not the annotations. If there are a lot of annotations, it probably means that they didn't make as much artwork.
Really good art you've got there, Jessica! And your presentation is so down to earth. Great to see your gratitude for the unknown benefactor who helped get back your exam board. Just don't mind the grades, keep your mind free and the art flowing! Because art can never be boxed up in the framework of expectations set by some academicians! You will go a long way in the world of art. All the best. God be with you!
great work Jessica. Please ignore the harsh marking by Cambridge, you clearly have both interest and talent and I hope you will continue to follow your passion.
Yeah from the other gcse sketchbooks that got A's, you should have gotten an A. You have way more variety in media's and creative experimentation. Great job.
I didn't take Art at igcse. I took religious studies instead and I had that exam 2 days ago. I would probably have got something like E or D if I took Art
i also did rs and OMFG results are coming out today and im freaking out. the christianity section was easy enough but the islam section ripped me a new one. hoping for at least a C if not a B 🤞
@@simspliitz5156 I think I generally did Christianity better than Islam. The thing is that in p2 I had so many ideas and so many things to write about Christianity(Pentecost, pilgrimage in France, discussing whether Easter is the most important Christian holiday etc) that I didn't have enough time to write everything I want in Islam section. Hey there!I might be a bit late to this, but I hope you can reply haha!First things first, that is NOT a C grade art portfolio. Girl that is amazing. So in my school we have a new teacher who is kinda confused and is getting all of us confused too lol.So I just want to know who gave you the theme for ur portfolio; did u choose it?Ur school/teacher gave u list to choose from? Because, in our school the teacher says we will get a list of themes from Cambridge 2 months prior to the deadline. I am so confused and it would be great if you can help?!
Yes the school gave us a list of themes to choose from :) that’s for one component. For the one that you work on throughout the year you choose your theme
sorry for the late reply. I literally used whatever editor i found online. I think Pixlr was one that i used quite frequently. You can find it for free online. Hope that helps.
this is probably a dumb question, but can you trace in igcse art? i watched a video for gcse art that said it was okay but i'm not sure if that's the case with igcse too so (':
im not sure as to what fire specifically you are referring to but i am assuming that it is the background light. so basically i just used oil pastels and tried to make a gradient using reds whites and orange. The brightest light should be white. Using reference always helps.
Hey if you don't mind me asking which IGCSE art did you do 0989 or 0400? And if you did 0989 for your A2 sheets can it be any colour for example black or does it have to be white paper?
hello! I'm a year 10 student, first time doing Cambridge and I'm considering taking up art. Can anyone tell me what I should prepare for this subject? It'll mean so much to me, thanks! :)
Hi I am sorry but I can't really give that much good advice. I would say just be prepared to give up a lot of time for the subject and make sure you love art :)

honestly, I admire ur second portfolio, and I dont get why you got C.
