- Hi guys, in today's video, I'll be showing you my IGCSE coursework (a video on exam prep will be up soon). I got an A* and top in the country (in South Africa) - I'll go through my work, showing you what I did and why I did what I did.

Hi, no problem at all. I'd suggest going to local museums but due to Covid... I suggest looking up some artworks online (searching things you are interested in) and finding some artists from there. Hope this helps!

hi i am doing my igcse art this year and i just want to say you are really inspiring me right now, we do the same subject ( all sciences, computer science and art) and I was really doubting myself then you came top in the country and thats just really motivating. If you have time to answer a question I'd love to ask whether (assuming your exam was in May) you worked on the coursework book from January to March/April, or whether the coursework was from the previous year also?

My teacher barely explained the whole point of this exam so thank you, this video helped a lot! ^^ But I have a question!
How many primary photos is required, and how many secondary photos might be too much? My topic is related to the ocean so it's a bit hard for me to take reference photos.
No problem!
There is no set amount that is required, but I'd say just try and choose the best ones out of them all. No need to present something that is mediocre if you can avoid it. Also I would try and stay away from using other people's photos. If your topic's related to the ocean maybe visit the aquarium to take some pics?

Thanks a lot💕 I'm glad you found the video helpful. Our teacher said you should at least have 2,3 artists - I think I had around 3 or 4 in total just for the course work.

I took all the photos myself. The only photos I included that weren't photographed by me were works of the link artists. Always the best to use your own photos!

@@Tahabutnotnoob First of all, thanks a lot! Unfortunately I'm not sure how that would work. I specifically chose my topics so that it wasn't gonna be an issue to get first hand sources. Sorry I can't be of help :(

Do i require references, because my art work is usually at it's best when i think of sketch myself and use colour/light references on the side. (or do i use the colour and light references as my source of "inspiration")
I think it's the best to include whatever resource you used. So if it was an image that you created then include the references even if it was just colour/light refs.

So was the theme of the coursework given to you by your teacher? And which question was given by external examiner? Please want to know if is two set of questions forms
Hi, you get to use the theme of your coursework. It's completely up to you what you choose! And as for the questions for the exam, you can look up Cambridge website (search IGCSE Art & Design exam paper) and you'll see a set of questions :)
The 8a2 sheets are they four like back to back. And can one produce all this within a short period especially coursework I'm in year 2 igcse and we are having component two in June series. I feel scared
Hi, I don't think it was back to back - I did mine like that since I had bigger pieces and couldn't fit them all in one side. But I reckon you should check the syllabus. And as for the time, it really depends. Just do bit of work everyday. I know that sounds like a lot.. but that's the way to go if you want to do well. Good luck 🍀

Hello I have a really important question and I hope you reply my paper for the coursework is 18x24 inches would they accept this paper size ?
Hi, I would check the syllabus if I were you! We also had a same problem when I was doing my IG.
@@min.k_art I checked and it says it must be a2 which is 16.5x23.4 inches and mine is 18x24 inches would that be considered a2 for them or they won't accept it

Hi, I *think* so, as long as you explicitly say you did. But I'd suggest checking the marking schems/ syllabus.

if i may ask though, regarding component 2, how was the exam conducted? it's an 8 hour exam (to my knowledge) so did you just stay there for 8 hours straight?? it's just that i'm planning on taking it in may/june, but since the course isn't available in my school i'll be doing it self-study and i have like no clue what the exam is gonna look like
