Do you actually now what "NOT REGULATED" means in Canada? Its not to protect you. It's so that the Canadian government can TAX you or PREVENT you from making money.

How do you keep track of all your transactions for generating your Canadian tax return (exchange transactions, purchase from wallet, etc.)?
Ive been using Newton for months now. I havent had many issues except being logged out randomly throughout the day. I ordered a Ledger Nano X so I'm thinking Newton is the best for me to buy and transfer to my hardware wallet.

Hi! Thanks for your awesome info. I have a question and can't get any info on it. I have requested my frist withdrawl and first it got blocked by Blockchain and they requested 60% of withdrawl, I did that and now VirgoCX has said they have the withdrawl plus the extra I added on. Now VirgoCX is sayig I need to put in 40% of my total Crypto Portfolio for me to do a financial verificaiton for me to obtain my withdrawl. The 40% of my total Crypto portfolio exceeds the withdrawl. Does this sound right??? Thanks for your help. New Crypto Trader...
It doesn't cost $0 to withdraw BTC from Newton. You'll pay the spread when converting back to fiat which is the fees duh

Out of the Canadian exchanges you mentioned Newton and VirgoCX are the best. If you also were to compare these to Coinbase and Gemini and other US exchanges, which exchange do you think is the best overall for Canadians? One of the Canadian exchanges or one of the big US exchanges like Gemini?
Good question! Out of the US platforms I've tried (Gemini, Coinbase, Kraken), I like Gemini the best. No deposit/withdrawal fees and the trading fee is 0.35% if you use the advanced trading function.

I had weird experience with Newton, first when making account they say I need to wait for manual verification, but once I reopened the app few seconds later, it looks like everything is set. Also accidentally paired my bank with Plaid, and have uneasy feeling for giving them my banking info (disconnected right away, and changed my password, but still feel weird).
Among all the exchanges you have shown in the video, Netcoins was the winner for me.
Nice review. I went with Newton. I’m not heavy into trading. App work well. Desktop better. Easy to use.

What are your thoughts on NDAX?
Very low trading fees but the withdrawal fees are a little high! Higher than VirgoCX. Pretty solid selection of cryptos. I haven't tried the platform so I can't speak to that part of it.
@@MarkFarfan Less coins (for now) everything else is better than Newton. Customer service has become very responsive and effective lately.

I would have appreciate if could have give some hints about the prices on each platform presented: I know for example that Virgo gives a better price when you sell compare to Newton (any assets). If you inject crypto (coming) from Binance into either of these platforms, then you'll get a better price with Virgo or even NDAX when its time to sell.

Newton is clunky and slow. Takes hours for interac deposits. Shakepay is much faster but lacks variety.
Am I just the lucky one that's never had any issues with Newton?? In my experience, e-transfers take minutes! But if not Newton, I still wouldn't recommend Shakepay... selection too limited and the fee structure is too expensive/opaque

I did some research about VirgoCX recently and found that they have reduced the withdrawal fees when withdrawing crypto, other than Ethereum and ERC-20 coins, all other crypto has no withdrawal fees. In your opinion, would that change your rankings between Newton and VirgoCX? Thanks! Love your videos
Hey there! Yeah, honestly it does make a big difference. Price for me is the main determining factor and everything else (like how nice is the app/website) is secondary. It's hard to keep up since the Canadian exchanges are constantly changing their offerings lol...

Let’s say one uses Newton to buy crypto but for some reason Newton is down and you can’t buy on it. I think Kraken has lower fees but I don’t think Kraken let’s you buy in CAD so you would get charged fx fees if you buy with a card. Which one is cheaper to buy from between those two if you are using a card to buy?
If you want to use a US-based exchange, it's best to fund your account with crypto purchased from a Canadian exchange! It will be the lowest fees, and then you don't have to worry about fx. Also, if you pay with a credit card to buy crypto, sometimes the commission fee is 4+%, which is crazy high !

I transferred my funds into bitbuy account. I want to transfer it back to my bank account. Withdraw button is disabled under account and wallet options. it's been 3 days, they keep sending me stupid emails. I have done all the troubleshooting steps. they told me. Now my money is stuck in bitbuy account. I sent 3 emails with the screenshots and i get an email back saying they haven't heard back from me. and provide screenshots. BS. i send over 3 emails with screenshots. I will not recommend bitbuy to anyone
Is WealthSimple a bad option for buying and holding the crypto for long term and then selling? I don't care about transferring crypto, just the growth. what option would be the best in that case?
In that case, you're probably better off buying into one of the BTC / ETH exchange traded funds within a Tax Free Savings Account... that way you can invest for growth and not pay taxes on capital gains!

It's definitely a nice app but I just can't get over the lack of selection and the pricing model!
I just wish it had Litecoin or xrp. cuz transferring back to shakepay from binance is expensive in fees
