You bring us nothing but joy thank you so much for your knowledge and your jokes I know this year you are going to have a wonderful Farm business and beautiful flowers can't wait to see Flower Hill grow
My mom planted fox gloves from seed a few years ago. They took forever and didn't have a high rate of germination. Now, she has a huge bed full where they have seeded naturally. It's beautiful!
Hahahaha Nichole, thank you for injecting a ton of humour into the serious (and exhausting) business of seed starting!! I have set up a mini plant nursery in my basement for the first time; currently struggling with the reality of how demanding this "little hobby" is really turning out for me. Your video has inspired me today to take a breath... take myself and these bloody plant babies a little less seriously. 😬Thank you!
Yeah, I'm still here. Not only do I get excited watching my own seedlings germinate, I equally enjoy seeing other peoples progress. I clearly have a problem...LOL! Foxgloves went in the ground this week. (6b) I start mine every year beginning of February, some have to be bumped up to larger pots by the time they go in the ground. Have grown the biennial plant every year for forever so I always have blooms in the garden. First year trying annual varieties (Camelot Cream, Dalmation Peach) - will be nice to have blooms the first year! Enjoy watching your journey...thanks for bringing us along!
Hello Nicole. Love your Channel and watch every episode. A litle tip growing Foxgloves from Norway: If you sow the seeds in the autumn and let them stay outside during the winter they will germinate much better. I usually broadsow in a tray and let it be exposed for what Mother Nature has to come up with of weather conditions. Make sure the tray has holes underneath. Where we live the wild foxgloves even grows in gravel. Good luck with your seedlings😊
Great video! Btw San Marzano get blight easily so keep the airflow going around them! I switched to Amish Paste a couple of years ago because of that. Beautiful seedlings!!
I always thought I was the only one to plant morning glories from seed! I’ve been hearing in certain places, it grows as a weed and it’s super vigorous and climbing so I can see how that would get outta control pretty quick!
Hello Nicole maybe you can hang some lights from the ceiling above the top shelf, that way you have 5 extra shelves. Love seeing all your baby plants. Greetings Shanna
I laughed when you said “I’m gonna need some room in here”. Does one ever have enough room?plants just expand to fill whatever the space is, large or small. I can only dream of having so much grow space! (I have heat mat space for 3 10 x20 trays plus the top of my fridge and 2 really amazing grow lights plus a shop light.) However, I do have a special talent. I can be pretty creative with how I pack things into and rotate things in and out of the heat mat space and grow light space space that’s available for me...and I must keep in mind that it’s 100% more grow lights and heat mats than I had a year and a half ago! I use what I have and just do what I can.
The sheer volume of what u are growing is mind boggling! My lizzies, started 2 wks after yours are 4". I kept using weekly fish emulsion when u stopped. However, I've tried 3 diff germination techniques w/2 seed packs of Delphinium & got ONE plant. If u ever get down time, maybe this Fall, please do a demo on starting them. You have a mountain of work but everything looks awesome so far!
Hi Pam, I started Delphinium Pacific Giants, from Ed Hume Seeds, last summer, mid June after putting seeds in the freezer for a couple of weeks. The germination was really great. I ended up with about 49 plants from one package. I was able to pot them up in the fall and protect with wood chips and mulch over the winter. I'm in Oregon, Zone 8b, fingers crossed that I will see blooms this summer. It seems that starting perennials can be a very long process before seeing blooms. 🤞 On the other hand my lizzies are still tiny!? ! Have a great summer enjoying your garden!
This video is just making me more and more excited for the growing season!! I only have two trays of plants but I hope one day I will have room for many more! Thank you, I enjoy watching so much!
Hey Nicole! You are a hoot! I never cared much for flowers until I seen a video of you and now I'm growing them! I'm a singer (but hide from video lol and I think you should sing more! You have a great voice! The babies will love it and I'm sure the viewers will too! My request is "Whistle while you work" lol. Keep up the great work! Just absolutely love your videos, your jokes, the funny voice changes you make and when you imitate other accents. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for inspiring me to grow some cut flowers, I only have pots an one tiny flower bed, all on my driveway, But so excited for some beautiful blooms to grow this year, along with a few veggie pots of Carrots/Spring Onions/Spinach/Cucumber/tomatoes/Chard/radish - Would love a flower garden but a dream for the future. As Land in UK difficult to purchase and expensive.

I appreciate you sharing the dates you started your seedlings as it gives me a timeline of how mine should be doing. It's all going to be fab in the end! Thanks for the tour Nicole :)
For your foxgloves you may want to try sowing some of the seed in summer. The first year I had my greenhouse I sowed one packet of foxglove seed in the greenhouse in June on a whim, they all germinated and grew so fast I ran out of pots to put them in. I left them in their pots outside over winter and they all bloomed the following spring, big healthy plants.
Thanks for the update! Glad you are having help from the fam during your busy period. The grow room is fabulous and everything looks great! 🌱🌱🌱 It’s going to be awesome! 🌺🌸💐🌼🌻🌹💐
Gazania, gazania, gazania. It is my nemesis. I can never get them to germinate, but I absolutely love them. They do really well for me in Houston because they can take the extreme heat and will bloom through the winter for me. Of course... This is when I can get them to even grow! Grrr! If anyone has grown them from seed and can give pointers, I would appreciate it!
Sweet Annie is so beautifully fragrant. I wouldn’t doubt, even in your zone, it will reseed for you! I pop around and move them where I want them in spring...they come up early! Makes such a great wreath base or filler if you cut them just as you see the tiny little seed heads starting...get them before they begin to lighten.
Oh I hear ya. I keep taking 'update videos' but then never get around to editing by the time I upload them the plants are twice as bug so I dont bother hahahaha. I think I'm gonna keep my updates to #shorts. That way I don't really have to edit a video, or brush my hair hahaha. I love my sundried cherry tomatoes so yummy. I'm growing black Krim too, and potted them up into the 2" soooo fun and satisfying.
You’re amazing. That’s a lot of work right there. Also, how cute is your sister in law?😊 BTW, I had heard that foxglove was slow growing and didn’t have a great germination rate... so I planted my seeds heavily in some 2 1/2 inch wide pots. They seem to have all germinated and they did it very quickly. I think that I’m just going to try transplanting them in the ground in a big clump 😀. I’m wondering why the difference between your seedlings and mine? I did also read that they had long roots, so the pots are a few inches deep. Perhaps the air pruning affect of soil blocks inhibits certain plants? I also think that you might be on to something with the compaction of the soil. I definitely think that I’ve overly compacted some of my plug tray cells and those seeds didn’t do so well. Case in point, I don’t think any of my delphiniums are going to grow. Keep up the great work. Love your videos.
Blooper is so cute! Our weather here has been past the 80’s, this is the hottest spring that I can remember. And I decided to start some tomatoes and peppers...hopefully they won’t get eaten by the squirrels because I will take a break from growing if they don’t leave my plants alone. Mind you, I live in an apartment, not a lot of room to grow anyway lol.
Love the tour of your seedlings. I have moved stuff out to the covered porch to start hardening them off. This of house freed up space under my lights so of course more seeds are being started yesterday and today. Rainy day to day so a good activity. I hope you have smooth sailing getting your bare root plants in the ground. It will look so amazing.
You are doing great with all your seedlings, I need to catch up! I got so many volunteers from last year. I have so many snow on the mountain (uphorbia) and cherry tomato's and sun flowers coming up in the garden. I had 15 plants of snow on the mountain planted last year and from there, i'll never be without because they self seed themselves. Just letting you know. The seedlings are very strong and easy to pot up to sell or give away. The wind takes the seed everywhere and when the plants grow they become bushes 3 to 4 feet wide so don't plant them too close to each other. Thank you!
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! I have been growing a veggie garden for a while but this year growing some more flowers too (also in CNY area) . Its soooo addicting. Good to know I am not the only one who sings to plants, forgets to label, smells tomato seedlings and uses school milk cartons. I really enjoy learning names of flowers I have never heard of before from your videos but trying to tell myself I will not buy any more seeds this season (well trying to at least). When I hear you stay "I'll be starting ......soon", I think hmmm maybe one more packet. Thanks for sharing your dream with us, it really inspires me. I can't imagine how hard it its to work and film.
I have had the same problem with some roots laying on top of the soil blocker. Maybe if we prick the hole with the toothpick before adding the seeds? I’m gonna give it a whirl! Thanks for all the joy you bring!!! Love you my Flower Goddess!!!!

I think of you every time a certain commercial comes on. It's a little girl who wants a window in her dollhouse. The background music sounds like yours
Your germination rates are brilliant. Heat mats make a big difference. I’m growing in z9 in Ireland and just started mrs burns basil gomphrena dahlias larkspur snaps phlox etc etc. Hope it’s another successful growing season
Snapdragons! Last year I didn’t know what I was doing and it was fine. This year I got serious, researched, did things “properly” and I’ve had poor germination with the Madame Butterfly, I’ve underwatered then overwatered the Chantilly but have had best results from Royal Bride, which were free seeds from a gardening mag. They are hardening off outside now (in the UK) and seem a bit happier, but it’s been a rather stressful couple of months!
I love looking at all your babies! I have the soil blockers, too. Your blocks look much better than mine. I'll keep trying. Thanks for sharing. Love your videos.
I had the same problems with the Sugar Stars Phlox this year (from Baker Creek--this year's seeds). I got no germination at all with my first batch and maybe 25% with my second batch :( Congrats on all of your healthy lisianthus and other seedlings!
Jippi!!! Great start to my Saturday. Looooove these long videos. Because you are my "Lissiperson" ,I'm like a sponge to everything you say about them.(still feel like a crazy person the way I care about thees plants. Talking to them? ......). Do yo leve them on the porch all day? Have a nice weekend.
For the algae, brownish, greenish, orangish stuff... It way be too late, but try a mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide, 4/1 ratio and spray the trays once/twice a week :)
I have never grown anything to farm, cut to sell, but in Central Kentucky (very different zone than yours.) My rudbekia, grown from direct seed, was very hardy, I actually never had to plant it again. I'm in Virginia now (just 3 years, finally found a house where I can plant again.) Not sure how rudbekia will grow here in central Virginia. I have no idea if anything I add will help/add any value to your decision making. I guess my 2 cents is just sharing to joy if growing, and the excitement of what is to come. I am so eager, chomping at the bit to see all of your rudbekia varieties when they bloom. Note- I had to groom my plants some, the lower leaves mostly, and sometimes many leaves to prevent a powdery mildew problem from spreading, similar to zinnias but not as prevalent, idk maybe use the maximum spacing for air circulation. Also an occasional wilt of the leaves, (never did figure out what caused that, I suspect an insect, but never found, or saw real evidence.) So I just pulled those leaves off. I remember a few years I had to pull millions from the pathways, I felt "dirty", was gald my mom was hundreds of miles away so she could give me the stink eye for plant murder. Thank you for sharing your growing experiences.
Hi! Thank you for this video. This is my first year planting and I didn’t realize you could plant stock seedlings before the last frost. My stock seedlings are desperate to get in the ground but I was holding off as I’m in Zone 5. I’m gonna do it!
Very happy to share your excitement. Everything looks so healthy. BTW, I'm gonna want some of those San Marzano plants also and basil and other herbs and peppers and maybe some chives and.......
So thankful for your video Posts. I learn something every time I watch, and enjoy them, too. Your blocks hold together better than mine. What reciPe do you use?
San Marzano's are wonderful, they make a great sauce. This year I am also trying Amish paste, Teaching and a couple of other Roma type. Will be doing a lot of canning come the harvest.
Good to know about the Snap Dragons and tight soil blocks. I'm planning on up potting my SDs and I'm creating my own soil blocker of sorts. Cuz I'm wicked cra that way. I have so many things to do, then I watch you and think my work is cake. BTW That "Get to work Thrip" is the lesser known Britney Spears hit. I'm tired just thinking about all of that work. Let me know when you get it all out in the dirt.
I have been so bummed lately because almost all of my seedlings have died, Im now seeing that you only use the heat mat first, then move them to the lights......I was doing both at the same time! Ugh! Can you tell me where you got your shelves and lights? This video inspired me to get my seeds going again before it’s too late!
Little did you know.. this is actually the live-action tour of Dexter's Laboratory...

For the algae, brownish, greenish, orangish stuff... It way be too late, but try a mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide, 4/1 ratio and spray the trays once/twice a week :)
Hi there, ist looks like you need more growing shelves. 😁
Always love your videos! Could watch this all day! 🌸🌿🌸
Hi! Thank you for this video. This is my first year planting and I didn’t realize you could plant stock seedlings before the last frost. My stock seedlings are desperate to get in the ground but I was holding off as I’m in Zone 5. I’m gonna do it!
I love your space saving techniques!😍
Thank you! 😊
Also, check out the amethyst basil. It’s even darker than the opal
Very happy to share your excitement. Everything looks so healthy. BTW, I'm gonna want some of those San Marzano plants also and basil and other herbs and peppers and maybe some chives and.......
Things are happening! 🤩 I'm so excited.
So thankful for your video Posts. I learn something every time I watch, and enjoy them, too. Your blocks hold together better than mine. What reciPe do you use?
Looking good! Love the mahogany splendor mine sprouted in 3 days! And Ong I didn’t know how tiny snapdragons are!
Yes! Creme brulee and sugar stars got none! Florets caramel got lots!
San Marzano's are wonderful, they make a great sauce. This year I am also trying Amish paste, Teaching and a couple of other Roma type. Will be doing a lot of canning come the harvest.
This may be a silly question but truthfully i don’t know what Stock. Is. Loving your videos and learning so much. Thank you!!!
It’s a lovely flower that is highly scented. Give it a Google 💐
Thank you for sharing!!!! Love love!!
Your energy motivated me so much that I had to go plant some more seeds (sunflowesrs and jalapenos btw) :D thank you!
