    💚💚💚We ordered the complete Floret’s Collection and this first succession we had an 83% germination rate overall with planting 100 Dahlia seeds, 250 Zinnia seeds and 300 Celosia seeds! First time sowing in a greenhouse and we have almost 600 seedlings to start hardening off over the next few weeks in Zone 7b! 💚💚💚

    This is an absolute blessing all the way around. Thank you Floret crew for helping us all. I cannot wait to see the "proof" that everyone sends in to you all of their labor. Amazing...keep up the great work and I cannot wait to get started. Sky truly is the limit, it is up to how far we can climb. Appreciate it all, love from the Midwest!

    Thanks for touching on the hardening off process. I tried to kill my sweet little veggie plants with too much sun and heat. I got to excited with high 60’s in western WA for a couple of days. Need to slow my roll.😆

    I always had problems with Poppies. I'm in a 4b so it does get pretty cold. The last few years I've been wintersowing them in milk jugs and it works great. I have probably 30 Iceland poppies germinated in one container right now. I just have to carefully separate them. It's a no fail way for home gardeners.

    Thank you for the great video! I’m just wondering if I can still plant my leggy seedlings? I think I saw somewhere that you could plant them so that a lot of the leggy stem is in the soil? Is that true? Or how would you plant them?

    I haven’t figured out how to use my greenhouse for seed starting-
    either too hot or too cold.

  • @gibsonlindseyspaulding7450
    @gibsonlindseyspaulding7450 5 месяцев назад

    Thank you for the video! I was surprised that you still have to harden off the plants even from the propagation house. Could you explain more about this? I would have thought the greenhouse has enough light that seedlings are ready in that sense. Do you use fans for circulation in the propagation house? The constant shifting of the seeds indoors and out is a process I'm trying to avoid/minimize when growing on a large scale.

    • @NicolesGardenNS
      @NicolesGardenNS 5 месяцев назад +1

      It’s not just light. Wind outside is much stronger than anything a greenhouse fan can produce, and the plastic does diffuse the light a bit. The greenhouse also should create shelter from the lowest of overnight temperatures as well.

    • @gibsonlindseyspaulding7450
      @gibsonlindseyspaulding7450 5 месяцев назад

      @@NicolesGardenNS that makes a lot of sense, thank you for the information! So even on a large scale operation, it's necessary to carry trays in and out to get them ready- very good to know! I was going to build out a propagation house over the summer to avoid this next season 😅

    Please advise what to do about Earwigs !! I think we might have a surplus in my garden!

    • @TeamFloret
      @TeamFloret 5 месяцев назад

      We haven't had a problem with earwigs bothering our plants. If you can see that they're harming your plants, it might be good to ask your local garden center for an organic product that would help!

    Hi, can you please talk about the pests that can effect zinnia, dahlia and celosia and how you treat them at floret, i have been suffering with tunnel makers, thrips and something that's eating the leaves!!

    • @TeamFloret
      @TeamFloret 5 месяцев назад

      Pests are a tricky one, since every area experiences its own issues. I'd check with your local garden center and see if they have advice!

    My geraniums got to a certain size, then just stopped growing ! 🤔 Not a size that they were too big for the cell, they were well within the cells perimeter , just stopped growing . And they’ve been that size for awhile, what am I doing wrong ?🧐 Thank you for your time !❤️

    • @TeamFloret

      They should only be around 70 degrees, so if it's warmer than that, taking them off the heat mats might be a good idea.
