I grew up with all the fabulous music from the 60's - 80's. ABBA was one of my favorites. They had lots of hits & I owned many of their albums. I can't think of a bad song by them. Some of their best are "Thank You For The Music", "Waterloo", "Money, Money, Money", "The Name Of The Game", "Super Trouper", "I Have A Dream", "Voulez-Vous", "Fernando", "Chiquitita", "Take A Chance On Me", "Mamma Mia", "SOS", "Knowing Me, Knowing You" etc.

Dancing Queen is one of the most famous songs in pop history! You have just discovered a GOLD MINE. Arguably the greatest pop band of all time. They have 28 hits, and 9 #1's and have sold 500,000,000 records worldwide. And their music holds up! Dig in!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Abba. To be very honest - I grew up hating them because on every single long road trip that we took - my dad would throw in their tape and make us listen to it for hours at a time. But as I got older - I really started to appreciate their music - and now absolutely love it. Their voices, melodies, and harmonies are just perfection. My top favourites are Summer Night City, Under Attack, Does Your Mother Know, Name of the Game, Voulez Vous, and Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie. Enjoy the ride!!
ABBA stands for their first names. Agnetha, Björn, Benny, Anne-frid. One of the Swedish pioneers to make our music from Sweden global and international. Sold about halv billion albums... so far.....

Always the perfect first ABBAsong to react to for young reactors that have never heard of ABBA. This was there signature song because it was a monster worldwide hit back in the 70’s . #1 in most major countries.
‘Muriel’s wedding’ is a fantastic 90s movie from Australia where the main character is obsessed with Abba. One of my favourite quotes from the movie is “I hope my life gets as good as an Abba song, as good as Dancing Queen”
This was in the movie Mama Mia & you might have heard a commercial for the movie, if nothing else. The song is talking about being young & 17, so yes, the girls are young. The group is 2 guys singing back up & playing the music, & the 2 gals. Two married couples. They have since divorced, however are still cranking out new music. The name is pronounced like you thought. Like your torso's Abs to say ABba. It came from the first initial of each of the 4 members. They are from Sweden & many of their songs were in the movie & theatrical play 'Mama Mia' which is also a title of one of their popular tunes. Great group that has their own sound.
Hi there! ABBA (is pronounced as "yabba, dabba") ⭐The best pop music ever⭐ Swedish group, made up of two couples: A- Agnetha Fältskog (blond singer)& B- Björn Ulveus (guitarist and composer) B- Benny Anderson (keyboardist and composer)& A- Anni-Frid Lyngstad (brunette singer, more commonly called "Frida") A group with a long and varied repertoire. They reached number one in the UK on 9 occasions. ABBA👑 never dissapoint! Love❤️ from Chile 🇨🇱👍
Yes, ABBA is a winner of Eurovision Song Contest too in 1974 with song "Waterloo", like Celine Dion (won in 1988 represent Switzerland). That's why maybe you should check Eurovision Song Contest, especially ESC 2016 in Sweden, i think it's the best ESC show ever.
This is a great group from the disco era. Very upbeat songs and great singing. You hear their music everywhere. They were huge. There are movies that feature a tons of their songs. Particularly the stage play snd movie Mamma Mia. We used to skate to this music all the time in the 70s. Abba had a ton of music that was fun to dance to.
Hey, great reaction my friend! ABBA are Agnetha, Björn, Benny, Anni-Frid A-B-B-A all their songs written by Björn & Benny, with contributions during recording by Agnetha (soprano, blonde) & Anni-Frid, known as Frida (mezzo, dark haired) "Dancing Queen" 1976 *the video was made at the time
ABBA (1973-82, and from 2021 again) is the goat of pop (in my opionion) with so many great gems, in different styles in their catalog. Dancing Queen from -76 is the largest hit international. The music of ABBA was/is loved in every age. ABBA has sold second most albums in the world after The Beatles, had for example 10 Numbers 1-albums in UK. More uptempo - try Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Mamma Mia, Lay All Your Love On Me or Take A Chance On Me. They have got many heartbreaking songs too like The Winner Takes It All, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Chiquitita, S.O.S. and One Of Us. More groovy stuff like The Name Of The Game is awesome. Theatre and movies too. You can’t get wrong with them actually. Good luck! ❤
If you’re continue on the ABBA journey, I highly recommend “Knowing Me, Knowing You”. One of their many big hits 💯 ABBA is the second biggest band/group of all time btw (behind The Beatles)..
I was in my late teens/early 20s when ABBA was REALLY big. Most of their fans were in that demographic, but younger teens liked them too. Thing is, back then most bands were only heard on the radio. Music videos were not made for every song released. While this video looks like it was made at about the time this song was released, I never saw it until a couple of years ago, and while I have always loved the song, this video doesn't really make sense to me. I have always wondered if it was actually done a couple of years after the song was released, and it was just kind of a cute thing to show a room full of 11-13 yr. olds dancing their hearts out to the fantasy of being "the Dancing Queen". (Because the lyrics are definitely talking about a more experienced Dancing Queen!
Dancing Queen was recording in September 1975 but with more production in the song was released in August 1976 these Official Video was filmed in February 1976, in Alexandre discoteque (Stockholm, Sweden)
"Does Your Mother Know" is my favorite song from ABBA but you have to watch the video where they have the all white background to go with it. The campy dancing and outfits are so completely 70's but make the song. Absolutely love it!
This song was not for teenage girls. It was mostly about nostalgia. It was for women that just danced without a care in the world. No adult stuff of marriage, having children, work issues. It is a celebration of that moment in time when you could just dance and enjoy the moment.
*Initially, ABBA was far more popular everywhere else than in the United States in the 1970s and 80s. If I'm not mistaken, their records outsold even The Beatles. Check out Waterloo, The Winner Takes It All, Fernando, The Visitors, Chiquitita.*

Это классно: скептик от музыки не смог понять это старая группа или новая) Их аранжировки превосходят современные, все ещё опережая время. Хорошо, что заметил, что поют интересно))) Не очень-то хорошо со вкусом у блогера)))
I listen mainly to bands like Tears for Fears and some 70s rock like Tom Petty. Not much into pop or soft rock but I can't deny, THIS IS THE BEST SONG EVER!!!!!

How can anyone not know who ABBA are ?!!. It’s equivalent to saying you’ve never heard of Elvis or the Beatles, to sit and revue recordings of songs as if your an officiardo of music, then admit you’ve never heard of ABBA, would be like Professor Steven Hawking telling us he’d never heard of Albert Einstein!. Unbelievable!!.
Mama Mia, the movies! What they are saying is that all girls are queens when dancing. Everyone loved their music. My dad taught my brother to listen to all genres of music, but I can't stand rap music.
once you hear abba and understand their talent you don't stop loving them! i wouldn't say their songs were aim at a particular age group 17 just fit the lyrics. your first pronunceation was right it's one word.benny and bjorn the 2 guys wrote the songs.the uk (and other european countries)were introduced to them when they won the eurovision song contest in 74 with waterloo. the eurovision song contest is a group, singer from each euro country sing and the other countries vote.who ever wins has to host the contest next year. this yr ukraine won but obvs can't host so the uk is going to cause we came second(sam ryder-spaceman) and offered.
Please react to this song... channel is Freddie Mercury Solo song is "Barcelona" was uploaded 7 years ago and has 20 million views!!! Listen to that version PLEASE!!! IT'S SO AMAZING!! THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF ALL TIME!!! Freddie wrote this song to sing with Cabella. He always loved opera but never sang it before. It sounds like 2 angels came down from Heaven!!! I BEG YOU TO PLEASE REACT TO IT!!!
Even though it was a huge hit, I always thought this was one of ABBA's weakest hits. (Pronounced AH-bah) They were trying to get in on the disco craze, and this song just always sounded very formulaic to me. They were great pop writers and singers with great melodies and have many brighter, catchier songs. Some I'd suggest: Does Your Mother Know, Fernando, Mamma Mia, Take a Chance On Me.
It was a hit with everyone and as a ‘tween’ in that era know I heard it as you described, we did think 17 was great. As grown up as you could get without having to be responsible like a proper adult. Probably a high school senior, when all the cool things like dating and homecoming and prom would happen. But as an adult I now know that back in those days a lot of young but adult Jen saw 17 as the perfect age for a girl you could treat like a woman, if you get my drift. A bit creepy by todays standard when we have a firmer line regarding teenagers and adults and consensual sex. ABBA might not mean this but other songs do.
Okay I almost pissed myself laughing when you asked if they were a new group and just making the video look old. XD Thanks, I needed that laugh. Glad to see you enjoyed the song, go ahead and do a deep dive, they were a hit machine!
They was a 90s group you probably heard the song from the band was called ateens they covered the song abba was the original writers and singers of the song that had a bunch of hits that is abba had mama Mia super trouper sos take a chance on me when I kissed a teacher and so many more
Just enjoy watching all the men reviewers get large eyed and "Wowed" when the ladies draw out the long note lyric "low" that sounds like a moan as they relax into a slow dip. Breaks me up every time.
Abba were a swedish group that won the Eurovision contest in 1974 singing "Waterloo". Abba is the acronym for Agnetha (The Blonde) - Bjorn (on guitar) - Benny (on piano) - and Anni-Fred (Brunette). The two guys wrote the songs in English and the girls sang them in English so there was no translating the songs from swedish or anything.
Dude you have entered a deep rabbit hole of one of the best selling records of the 70s& 80s ....get ready to get a ton of requests for ABBA....

ABBA ruled the airwaves in the70s together with the Bee Gees. Their songs never get old. I listened to them in high school until now.
This song was ENORMOUS. It was one of the disco era's great anthems.

Это классно: скептик от музыки не смог понять это старая группа или новая) Их аранжировки превосходят современные, все ещё опережая время. Хорошо, что заметил, что поют интересно))) Не очень-то хорошо со вкусом у блогера)))
Makes me want to roller skate
Lol you've heard of Abba one of the biggest artists ever with over 400 million albums sold nd a musical that as taken over 4 billion dollar worldwide
Now try "Waterloo".
ABBA IS SUPER MARVELOUS THEY RULED THE 70S.
ON A MOVIE. MA MA MEA!!! .
Two married couples.
Check out 'Voulez-Vous' 'What's the Name of the Game' 'Fernando' 'The Winner Takes it All'
I listen mainly to bands like Tears for Fears and some 70s rock like Tom Petty. Not much into pop or soft rock but I can't deny, THIS IS THE BEST SONG EVER!!!!!
Here is the "lost verse", from the original recording sessions, not included on the released version 😉-----------------> ruclips.net/video/HIts3n-b6YY/видео.html ...................use your headphones🎧
They had a deep rabbit hole while it lasted.
Agnetha😍🥰😋 I fell in Love/LUST with her at first sight.😍🥰😋
Song was played on Miss Congeniality
You my man are hilarious. Getting ready for the new year
So many young men (and older ones, lol! 😁😁) we're absolutely Gaga over the two fine looking ladies in ABBA!
once you hear abba and understand their talent you don't stop loving them! i wouldn't say their songs were aim at a particular age group 17 just fit the lyrics.
your first pronunceation was right it's one word.benny and bjorn the 2 guys wrote the songs.the uk (and other european countries)were introduced to them when they won the eurovision song contest in 74 with waterloo.
the eurovision song contest is a group, singer from each euro country sing and the other countries vote.who ever wins has to host the contest next year.
this yr ukraine won but obvs can't host so the uk is going to cause we came second(sam ryder-spaceman) and offered.
In 1974 the UK hosted it also without being the previous winner. Luxembourg won in 1972 and 1973 back to back but could not afford to host it twice.
You should check out "Waterloo" by ABBA
"I've heard this chorus before, somewhere."
Planet Earth?
They perform “Chiquitita” in Spanish.. don’t miss that
Play “Fernando” by ABBA for a different side, also you had it right ABA is like Fred Flintstone saying yabba dabba do, ABBA

I BEG YOU TO PLEASE REACT TO IT!!!
They couldn’t speak English very well but they could sing it so good. They were from Stockholm, Sweden
They 'are' from Sweden
all four still alive
in the begining the ladies have difficult with english, but the guys speak english so well
you need to listen to Take a Chance on me! Also, I could be wrong but this song was written for a specific person.
Great reaction! New sub here.
My favorite is “slipping through my fingers” :)
ABBA is two girls and two guys. They had quite a few hits. Glad you covered them in a review.
MOVIE with Meryl Streep. Was in 70's
Mama Mia, you really need to listen to that. They are from the 70s
I got 3 from Heart...firgive me if you covered them. Magic man, Barracuda, These Dreams.
They was a 90s group you probably heard the song from the band was called ateens they covered the song abba was the original writers and singers of the song that had a bunch of hits that is abba had mama Mia super trouper sos take a chance on me when I kissed a teacher and so many more
☮️💙💙💙
Did you live under a rock?
No, just a small stone wit R&B/hiphop/jazz and Kpop…. Didn’t have much room under the rock so I changed homes
Just enjoy watching all the men reviewers get large eyed and "Wowed" when the ladies draw out the long note lyric "low" that sounds like a moan as they relax into a slow dip. Breaks me up every time.
ABBA had a few hits in the 70's. I believe they were from Sweden? Not 100%sure. I do know that they had to learn how to sing the songs in English.
ABBA won Eurovision in 1974 with 'Waterloo'. They realized to get on the radio outside of Sweden they had to translate their songs to English.
@@louisesmith4251 Thank you. It's reassuring to know that my brain is still working. Sometimes I wonder.
”A few hits” in the 70s. One of the highest grossing bands in history had a few hits. Right.
And yes, they were and are Swedish.
@@katarinawikholm5873 I was born in 1970 and I really only heard a few of their hits when I was older.
ABBA is a legendary group! Thank you! Please react to NCT
